Kurama was irritated, to say the least. The oaf he resided in exhausted himself by overworking. Now the fox was tasked in taking over his body. The lazy advisor had kicked them out of the office so now he was supposed to go home to Naruto's family and explain himself.

He was not looking forward to telling Boruto. The relationship between the kit and his father had been very strained lately. Telling him that it wasn't really his father coming home was likely going to make things worse. He knew the girl would be excited to see him though, that was one of the things he was looking forward to. As he walked towards the house he tried to contain his excitement at being able to see Hinata. He came to love his host's lover and they had formed their own friendship over the years.

"I'm home!" The tailed beast shouted as he took off his shoes.

"Naruto-kun? We weren't expecting you today." the pale beauty said.

" Hello, Hinata." He replied with a small smile and open arms.

"Kurama!" Hinata exclaimed as she ran into his arms.

" Oh! I'm so happy to see you. Wait where's Naruto? Is something wrong?" she fretted.

" No no he's fine. Just tired. He should be back by tomorrow." he assured.

He fondly patted her head and went in search of the youngest kit. After a short look around the modest house, he found her coloring on the floor of her room. Seeing her having fun and kicking her legs back and forth brought a squeeze of fondness to his heart.

"Hima," he called.

"Daddy!" she squealed as she ran to hug him.

"It's Kurama kit," he replied cautiously.

Although he was very fond of the girl he was still scared of her since the….incident. He didn't want to obscure the truth from her just in case it would make her angry. Then both people in the body would be screwed.

"Foxy!?" she shrieked as she tightly hugged his middle.

"Ooof. Let's go find your brother," he suggested.

"Nii-chan! Nii-chan where are you?" the little girl sang.

"What is it Hima?" the boy shouted back.

The boy walked into the hall to find the two hand in hand. Kurama could see the initial excitement in his face that his father had come home. As soon as he looked up to see red eyes instead of blue his mood dimmed.

"Oh, hey Kurama." the blonde child said cooly.

"I'm sorry kit. Your father was too tired, but we can hang out if you want." the Kitsune stated.

"Um, sure why not. I don't have anything better to do." the body replied nonchalantly.

In reality, his little sister's pleading face broke him down and he was starved for any kind of time with his father. Even though he knew it wasn't truly his father, he could indulge himself in the illusion. So they made their way to their couch to watch a movie. There they found Hinata curled up with one of her favorite books and tea for them all.

"So what are we feeling? Romance, Action, or Horror?" Kurama questioned trying to restore the happy mood.

"Action!" the kids yelled.

Later, after a couple of different movies, Naruto finally awoke. He looked down to see his children glued to his sides, both snoring softly. He looked over to see his gorgeous wife immersed in the movie, softly chewing popcorn as to not wake them. Kurama had already given him an earful about the whole thing. Now he just had to face his wife.

"I know you're awake, Naruto-kun," she whispered.

"I'm so sorry Hime. I just got so caught up in my work and I didn't realize I was doing too much. I'll make it up to you guys I promise." he rambled.

"Naruto-kun,it's okay. We understand. What you do for the village is important, and we wouldn't be able to be so comfortable without your hard work." she reassured.

"Oh Hinata I love you guys so much. I love you so much." he declared with unshed tears brimming his eyes.

"We love you too, Naruto-kun. Always and Forever," she whispered as she leaned over and gave him a soft kiss on his forehead.
