Wipe your tears
Hinata was feeling overwhelmed. The daycare was closed for the winter so she was watching both of her young children. Everyone thought that since she was the stay-at-home mom they could drop their kids off with her. So now she was not only watching an infant and a toddler but she was also required to watch an infant and 5 toddlers. She had long since developed a backbone so she could have simply said no, but she knew her friends were busy and couldn't get babysitters. She decided to do this favor to be nice until they found sitters, but she was currently regretting her decision.
Boruto was borderline obsessed with her, always attached to her in some way. Her baby was in her crib, staring at the toys that spun slowly above her. Shikadai was a pretty independent child, not needing as much supervision as the others. Chocho and Inojin would not stop fighting each other. Sarada refused to stop crying out for her mother. So she had a lot on her hands. They played games, they danced, and they ate. Things were going well until ChoCho pushed over Inojin and he started crying. His crying woke up her baby and then she started crying. Himawari's crying made her son cry because he hated when she was sad. Boruto's crying triggered Sarada's and then Chocho's. She thought she was going to get lucky with Shikadai, but she saw his little face crinkle in anger from all the loud noises and he began crying too. Now she had a room full of crying children and she wanted to die.
She grabbed her baby, slid down to the floor, and pulled out her boobs for breastfeeding. When she was sure her daughter had latched on, she began to cry as well. Silently she sobbed in a chorus of crying children. She was stressed. She had no clue how she was going to get through the rest of the day. She was ready to call their parents and tell them she couldn't do this when she felt a little tug on her shirt.
"Mama, crying?" her son asked.
"Don't worry, mama's alright," she told him.
Her son reached up and started to wipe her tears with his little fingers. He puffed out his small cheeks in concentration and she laughed. Her son reminded her a lot of her husband, always trying to be cheerful and bring smiles to others' faces. The other children saw Boruto playing with her face and laughing so they all flocked around her.
"No more tears!" he exclaimed with a bright smile.
Then he climbed on top of her lap and hugged her and his sister. The rest of the kids followed suit and the crying ceased. After that it was smooth sailing for the rest of the afternoon. She was able to keep the kids entertained and nap time went off without a hitch. When her friends picked up their kids they were all smiles and ready to go home.
"How are you feeling hime?" her husband asked as he slid into bed next to her.
"I feel fine, Anata," she said as she kissed him.
"Boruto told me he saw you crying earlier today. If watching all the kids is too much we can always refuse. I can help them find sitters and take them off your hands," he told her.
"It's okay Naruto-kun. I really like being with them, and I don't want to rush them on their sitter process," she explained.
"You're so sweet Hinata, but if it becomes too much don't hesitate to let us know," he said sincerely.
"Of course Naruto-kun. You know your son is a lot like you," she teased.
"What! How!" he gasped playfully.
"When I was crying he wiped my tears with his tiny hands. It was so cute," she gushed.
"Well, he learned from the best Hina. I'll always be there to wipe your tears too," he smiled as he hugged her.
