Gibbs and Kelly were at home when there was a knock on the door. Gibbs opened the door to reveal Kate standing there. She looked up and smiled at him.
"Hey. I told you to just walk in." Jethro said softly as Kate walked through the door.
Kate shrugged, "I know…I just- I don't-" Kate was cut off by Jethro's lips on hers. She moaned softly and wrapped her arms around his neck before they heard someone clear their throat. The couple parted and turned their heads to see Kelly grinning at them.
Kate smiled and let go of Gibbs, "Kelly!"
"Katie-girl!" Kelly squealed and hugged her favorite person in the world. Gibbs chuckled and closed the door.
"Something smells good. What's for dinner?"
"I made shrimp pasta." Kelly said with a proud smile.
"Mmm, yummy."
Gibbs put his hand on Kate's lower back and guided her to the table.
"Sit, we'll get the food."
Kate looked at Gibbs, "But-"
"Sit."
Kate sat down while the father and daughter dished out their food and got their drinks from the refrigerator. Once they sat down, the conversation started out light until Kelly was telling them some gossip from her school which somehow even interested Gibbs. Finishing their meals a while later, Kelly grabbed their plates and walked over to the sink.
"Wait, hold on. Lemme help you." Kate said making Kelly turn around and shake her head.
"Nope. I'll take care of the dishes. You guys can go."
Gibbs frowned, "You sure?"
"Of course! Now, go."
Gibbs grabbed Kate's hand and took her to the basement since that was the only place they could actually get some privacy, and led her to his boat.
Kate ran her fingertips across the smooth wood lightly while humming. "I see you've been working on this without me." She said, playfully glaring at her boyfriend making him chuckle.
"Well…The rough wood was botherin' me. Plus, you weren't here. Had to do something."
"Coulda called me. I would've sped all the way here."
"And let you get into a crash and ruin that pretty face? No thank you."
Kate giggled and turned her body towards Gibbs.
"Why's Kelly here? I thought she was staying with her friends. I mean...I love her but, why?"
Gibbs sighed, "She told me that apparently, they all got into a fight and don't want to live with each other anymore."
"So…She's staying here."
"Mhmm."
Kate groaned, "Now we gotta be quiet, or else she'll hear us. I was really enjoying the empty house."
Gibbs chuckled and brushed her hair off her face, pushing it behind her ear before cupping her face.
"We'll be fine. She'll probably be here only a few days and then leave. No big deal. Plus, you know…This basement's basically soundproof." He replied with a smirk on his face. Kate giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck while he placed his hands on her hips and leaned down, kissing her lips.
After she finished cleaning up the dining table and kitchen, Kelly moved upstairs to her bedroom - that her father keeps cleaned while she's away since when she always visits, she stays in her bedroom - and played music from the small speaker on her desk before doing some light cleaning. After a while, her phone started ringing. She groaned and put the volume of the speaker low before answering her phone.
"Hello." She said only to hear breathing on the other line.
"I'm coming for you, Kelliana Elizabeth Gibbs." She then heard a woman's voice say before the phone went down. Kelly stared at her phone with fear and confusion. Then, a new message appeared on her phone. She opened it and the words, "YOU BETTER WATCH OUT KELLIANA" appeared in big letters. Kelly started breathing heavily before running out of her room and down the stairs.
"KATE!" She screamed as tears started streaming down her face. Kelly reached the basement door and started pounding her fists on the door.
"Daddy! Katie!" She cried, more tears streaming down her face, her heart beating faster. Kelly started to panic and sat on the floor, her knees pressed up against her chest, and started crying. Downstairs, Kate and Gibbs were trying to put on their clothes as fast as they could before running up the stairs after they heard Kelly screaming for them.
"Kelly?!" Gibbs yelled as they ran up the stairs. He opened the door to see his daughter sitting on the floor, crying her eyes out.
"Oh, god. Kelly." He said as he got onto the ground and sat next to her. Gibbs pulled her into his lap and rubbed her back.
"Kelly. Kells, talk to me, honey." He said softly while Kate came back from the kitchen with a paper towel and some water for Kelly.
"I-I don't know if it's a prank o-or not but some lady j-just called me and said she was coming for me."
Kate sat down and rubbed Kelly's arm, maybe it's not directed towards you."
"She said my full name, Katie. No one knows my full name. Not even my best friends." Kelly whispered, her face buried in her arms. Kate glanced at Gibbs before he nodded his head. She got up leaving the father and daughter and walked to the kitchen where her phone was sitting on the counter. Kate picked up the phone and dialed McGee's number, asking him to come to Gibbs' house as fast as he could.
Sometime later, a knock was heard on the door. Kate answered the door and in walked McGee, Tony, and Abby.
"Wait- McGee, I said only you."
Tony frowned, "What's wrong if we came?"
"Yeah! Maybe we can help." Abby said, playfully glaring at Kate who sighed and closed the door. McGee walked over to Gibbs and Kelly who were still sitting on the ground.
"Hey, Kells." McGee whispered, crouching down onto the ground.
"I need to borrow your phone so I can trace the call and we can find whoever called you." He said softly. Kelly sniffled and brought out her phone, handing it to McGee.
"Thank you. I promise we'll find whoever did this." He replied before standing up and walking over to the table where Tony and Abby were setting up the computers.
"Alright, people. Let's get to work." Tony said once they finished setting up. Gibbs got up and lifted Kelly up with him, carrying her over to the sofa since she had fallen asleep after a while. He laid a blanket over her before walking to the group.
"Found anything yet?"
"Almost there, Boss." McGee replied before a "ping" was heard from the device.
"There!" McGee exclaimed, pointing to the screen.
"McGee…It's a phone booth." Kate said bluntly.
"Well, duh, Kate. But, there are cameras around it. We can see who called Kelly."
"Find out, McGee." Gibbs ordered making McGee nod his head. A few minutes later, McGee got access to the cameras.
"Got in."
Everyone crowded around McGee as they watched his screen.
"Alright. The call was made at 9:27…" McGee said, going into the timeframe of the video. He played the video on the camera and at the time of 9:27, there was a figure standing at the phone booth, alone, dressed in all black, their head was covered by a hat.
"Can't you brighten it up a bit or…I don't know. Get a sound?" Kate asked as McGee hummed.
"Let's see…" He said, typing onto the device before sound was coming from the video.
The person in the video was standing near the phone booth, talking on her cell phone.
"Just shut up and give me the number or I swear to god I will hunt your family down and kill them one by one." The group heard the voice say.
"Sounds like a female." Abby said as McGee turned the volume up.
"Damn her voice sounds sexy." Tony said before Gibbs slapped the back of his head making him wince.
"Kelly did say it was a lady who called her. " Kate said, recalling what her boyfriend's daughter had said when they found her crying.
"Great. Lovely doin' business with you." The woman in the video said before she put away her phone and picked up the phone from the booth. She dialed a number and held the phone up to her ear.
"She's probably calling Kelly now." Kate said as they continued to listen to the video.
The woman in the video smiled once she heard the voice of the person she called before saying, "I'm coming for you, Kelliana Elizabeth Gibbs." The woman put the phone down and started laughing as she walked away. Everyone stared at the screen in shock as the video stopped.
"McGee. Find out who that woman is. Now! I don't care how! Just do it now! Look through every god damn file and record we have! Look at every security camera in this damn city! Find her now!" Gibbs yelled making everyone jump.
"Y-yes, Boss." McGee said, typing onto his computer. Gibbs walked away from the group and sat down on the sofa across from the one Kelly was on. Tony sighed and started rummaging through Gibbs' refrigerator and pantries. Abby got onto the second computer to help out McGee while Kate walked over to Gibbs and sat next to him.
"We'll find her, Jet." Kate whispered softly as she watched her boyfriend look at his daughter with a worried look.
"I swear if something happens to her, I'll never forgive myself."
Kate grabbed Gibbs' hand and brought it to her lap, tracing the creases on his palm, "Nothing will happen to her. That woman would have to get past me if she wants to hurt Kelly."
Gibbs looked at Kate and gave her a small smile.
"I love you."
Kate smiled, "I love you too."
Gibbs leaned down and kissed Kate's lips.
