Kelly woke up the next morning to find her father and Kate cuddled up on the sofa across from her asleep. She groaned as she stretched. The couch she was on wasn't a very comfy couch. Kelly quietly got up and turned around to find McGee asleep with his face on his computer, Abby asleep at the dining table, and Tony asleep on the floor, in a seated position, leaning onto the cabinets with a box of cereal in his lap.
Kelly giggled softly as she saw the adults around her. She was about to leave the room when she heard a "ping" coming from McGee's computer. Curious, she quietly walked over and noticed that he had been collecting data from a security camera around the city.
"Why does she look familiar?" Kelly asked herself, noticing a woman in one of the videos from a security camera McGee was looking at. The woman looked a bit older than Kelly, she had olive-colored skin, black curly hair, striking turquoise eyes, pink plump lips, and a beautiful smile. Then, more "pinging" noises came from McGee's computer as the same woman kept popping up onto the screen from different security cameras.
Kelly noticed McGee and Abby waking up so she quietly walked away from the kitchen, glancing back at the woman before going upstairs to the bathroom.
McGee groaned and rubbed his face as he lifted his head. Sleeping in a slouched position was not very good for his back. He rubbed his eyes before looking at his computer from all the noise it was making. His eyes widened.
"Boss! I got something!" He yelled making everyone jump awake. Kate, who was sleeping on top of Gibbs had fallen to the ground and Tony hit his head on the counter above him as he tried to stand up.
"Ouch." Tony and Kate said rubbing the places on their body that were in pain. Gibbs got up from the couch, helped Kate up, and walked over to McGee, the rest of the adults following him.
McGee pointed at the computer, "The same woman has been around places where Kelly has been."
"Like…stalking her?" Tony asked as he yawned and scratched his head.
"Basically. Look here, two weeks ago, Kelly was at this supermarket getting…god knows what, this woman was following her around the store." McGee said, showing the group the footage.
"Or maybe they just both have the same taste." Abby said with a shrug.
"Okay well here…Five different places at five different times, all times Kelly was at that certain place. Look at the background. Who's there?" McGee asked, zooming in on all five paused videos.
Gibbs looked closely at the zoomed footage, "The same woman in the five background. Staring at Kelly at all five places."
"Exactly…And hear this Boss." McGee said, moving to another screen that had a video up. He played the video and turned up the volume.
"This was at a coffee shop, three days ago." McGee announced.
"Hello. I'll have a black coffee, please." The woman in the video said, pulling out her purse.
"Any creamer?" The barista asked making the woman shake her head.
"Nope. Just black. No creamer, no sugar. Just plain old bitter coffee for me, please." The woman said as the barista raised an eyebrow.
"Okay…That'll be 3.19."
The woman paid with her card before the barista asked, "And what's the name?"
"Lani. Lani Rose"
The barista nodded before moving away from the counter to get started on the woman's coffee. The video then ended.
"Damn, Boss. She got the same taste in coffee as you." Tony said as Abby frowned.
"Yeah…It's kinda weird. I mean, besides from you…I don't know anyone who likes their coffee just plain black." She replied as Gibbs stared at the screen, mainly at the woman on the screen.
"It's the same voice from the video yesterday." Abby said as Tony, Kate, and McGee nodded their heads.
"She just…Looks very familiar." Gibbs said, mostly to himself. Kate hummed.
"Was she an old fling?"
Gibbs scoffed, "God, no."
"What? She not your type? She likes plain, bitter coffee. Has long black hair. Pretty eyes and smile. She's your type." Kate said in a teasing voice.
"I like brunettes better. Besides, she's too young."
Kate looked up at her boyfriend, "I'm young."
"Okay…Well, she's younger."
"Mhmm."
"Anyways." Abby said, interrupting the conversation of the couple. "She said her name was Lani Rose. McGee, can't you search up a woman who goes by the name of Lani Rose?"
"I already did. Nothing came up…It's just a nickname."
"Well, what's a name that has the nickname, Lani?" Tony asked, grabbing the box of cereal he was eating last night and dumping a handful in his mouth.
"Hmm…Lani…Lani…Kehlani?" Abby asked, looking at McGee.
"Kehlani…Rose." McGee typed into his computer. The group stared at the screen as it was loading but then nothing popped up.
"Nope." McGee said making Abby huff.
"Damn."
"Well, I can't think of any other name. You guys?" Abby asked as everyone shook their heads.
Kate looked at the time and noticed it was almost 11. "Okay. Everyone except for Jethro. Leave, get cleaned up, get some good rest, and eat then come back here say around…9 p.m. Then, we can work on this again."
"But-"
"No, "but". Get this packed- Actually, just leave this here, leave and then come back at 9."
"Fine."
Abby, Tony, and McGee grabbed their stuff and left the house while Gibbs stayed in the kitchen, staring at the woman on the screen. Kate waved goodbye to their coworkers and closed the door before heading back to the kitchen. She sighed as she saw how tired her boyfriend was.
Kate walked up behind Gibbs and wrapped her arms around his waist from behind, kissing his shoulder-blade.
"Let's go get some sleep and then we can come back to this." She said softly.
"I swear I've seen that face before." Kate heard Gibbs mumble.
"Jet, baby. She's been everywhere. You must've seen her at the coffee shop." Kate said, standing next to Gibbs now. Gibbs sighed and nodded his head.
"You're right. I must've seen her at the coffee shop."
"Yeah…C'mon. Let's go get some rest. That sofa was not a great place to sleep on." Kate said, tugging Gibbs up the stairs. He followed her but stopped outside of Kelly's bedroom door.
"Lemme check on Kells and then I'll come in."
Kate nodded and walked into Gibbs' bedroom. Gibbs sighed and knocked onto his daughter's bedroom door.
"Kelly?" He called out softly.
"Come in." He heard a soft voice say. He opened the door to see his daughter sitting on her window seat, staring at the sky. Gibbs walked in and sat down across from her.
"You okay?"
Kelly nodded her head, "I'm fine."
"Kelly."
"I just…What did I do to that woman? I've never seen her in my life and here she is…Trying to kill me."
"We don't know that, Kelly."
"Daddy. You heard her yesterday when you watched the video. She's coming for me."
Gibbs hooked a finger under his daughter's chin and turned her head to look at him.
"If she ever comes to hurt you, she has to go through me to get to you, okay? I'll find her. We'll find her. Okay? You have me. You have Kate, Ducky, McGee, Abby, hell, even Tony. And we won't stop at anything to find this woman and stop her before she lays a finger on you."
Kelly smiled, "Thank you."
Gibbs pulled his daughter into a hug, "I love you, Kelly."
"I love you too, Daddy."
Gibbs kissed his daughter's forehead before leaving her on the window seat.
"Katie and I are in my bedroom okay?"
"Okay…Just try not to make so much noise." Kelly called out as Gibbs walked away.
"Alright. Wait, hey!"
Kelly started laughing as Gibbs chuckled and closed the door. He then walked to his bedroom to find Kate laying on his bed in only one of his shirts and her black panties. Her hair out from the ponytail she had been wearing which now framed her beautiful face. Closing the door behind him, Kate looked up and smiled.
"Hey, how's Kells?" Kate asked, turning to lay on her back as Gibbs took off his shirt.
"She's scared but she's okay." He said, crawling on top of his girlfriend and kissing her lips. Kate hummed and smiled into the kiss.
"I said for us to get some rest."
"And we will." Gibbs replied, slipping his fingers under her shirt and covering her neck with kisses making Kate giggle.
"Jethro. Kelly's right next door!" Kate exclaimed as Gibbs slipped his hand into her panties.
"Then we'll just have to stay quiet now won't we." Gibbs said, a smirk appearing on his face as Kate moaned when he slid a finger down her slit.
"You know very well that I'm not-" Kate was cut off by a moan from her own lips as Gibbs started sucking her pulse point. "I-I'm not- Oh, god. Very quiet."
"We'll find a way." Gibbs mumbled into her skin, the vibration from his voice making Kate moan softly.
It was 3 in the afternoon when Kelly woke up from her sleep and she was hungry. She made her way downstairs, not bothering to check in on her father and Kate since she knew they were sleeping. Kelly fixed herself a sandwich and sat down on the couch, grabbing the remote to watch a movie when the doorbell rang.
Kelly paused, she didn't really want to open the door. What if it was the woman? Maybe the woman found her. She was going to get kidnapped in her own house!
Thoughts started running through her head as the doorbell rang again. Then, a voice called out, "Kelly! Open the door! It's Abby!"
Kelly let out a breath of relief as she recognized the voice. Setting down her sandwich and the remote, she walked over to the door and opened it to see the very happy and excited goth.
"Kelly! So happy to see you." Abby said, pulling Kelly into a tight hug before releasing her and making her way into the house.
"Hi, Abby." Kelly said, closing the door.
"Oh, please! Call me Aunt Abbs."
Kelly giggled, "Okay, Aunt Abbs."
Abby smiled, "Hey! Where's the bossman and Kate?"
"Um…I think they're still sleeping."
Abby pointed up, "Upstairs?"
Kelly nodded, "Mhmm."
"Great! Thanks." Abby said before running up the stairs before Kelly could stop her. She burst through Gibbs' bedroom door making the couple inside shoot up in bed.
"People! I've found something!" She exclaimed excitedly as she flopped down onto the bed, not noticing that her boss and best friend were naked under the sheets of blankets.
"Uhm-"
"No, let me talk." Abby said, stopping Kate from her sentence. "Okay, so instead of getting some rest like you advised me to, I went to my lab. Jenny was there so I asked her to help me. We went through my computers and typed in the woman, Lani, her last name, Rose. Which, I think is a beautiful and unique last name but, only if she weren't a serial killer. Or…someone who's out to kill a perfectly, innocent young lady. Someone who is literally her age."
"Abbs-"
"So, anyways, Jenny and I went through every person with the last name "Rose" and let me tell you, there's not that many people and narrowed it down to this one person. Leilani Rose. But-"
"Wait, you found her?" Kate asked with joy in her voice.
"No."
Kate growled and Gibbs rolled his eyes.
"Well, technically yes…" Abby said making the couples' eyes light up. "But also in a way, no."
Gibbs was starting to get irritated, "Is it a yes or a no, Abby?"
"Um…Listen to this and you tell me. We've found her. We found where she lives so Jenny and I went over to her place to check it out. It's a really beautiful place. It's a beach house, two story's with an open living room facing the sea."
"The point, Abby?" Kate asked, irritation in her voice.
"Well, she wasn't home. And we've asked her neighbors and no one has seen her since yesterday. Girl just disappeared."
Kate sighed in annoyance making Abby turn to the two.
"Hey…Why are you guys shirtless?" Abby asked and as if a light-bulb went off in her head, she realized.
"Oh shit! Sorry! I'm so sorry. I-I'll just- Jenny's in the car…I'll just go get her and…Yeah." Abby said, running out of the room leaving the couple. Kate groaned and laid back down.
"Leilani…Katie." Gibbs called out making his girlfriend hum.
"Isn't Leilani the name you've always wanted to name your daughter?" Gibbs asked, looking down at the woman beside him.
Kate looked up at him, "Only if it's with you."
Gibbs chuckled and laid on his side, facing Kate as he ran his fingers through her hair.
"I was just wondering."
"Mhmm."
"You know…Remember when we met. Before I married Shannon."
"You mean when I was still a college student?" Kate asked, a smile appearing on her face.
"Yeah."
"Yeah, what about it?"
"I remember when we used to be laying in bed like this and you would always tell me how you would want to name our daughter with the name, Leilani."
Kate giggled and nodded her head, "I remember that."
Gibbs smiled and kissed the tip of Kate's head.
"I love you. So much."
"I love you too." Gibbs replied, kissing her lips before sighing.
"Now, let's get down there before we give Abby another heart attack."
Kate started laughing, "Did you see her face though?"
Gibbs chuckled and nodded, "Makes me wish I had a camera."
Kate laughed as she made her way to the bathroom.
