Aiden(VO): You coming Tyson?
Tyson(VO): No. You may think what you're doing is what the fates want, but they're just using you.
Aiden(VO): Then I guess, this is really goodbye.(Tyson wakes up from his apparent nightmare)
Crytas: Dude. Focus, dude. Dude. He lives! Hey, dude!
Tyson[groaning]: What happened?
Crytas: Oh, saw the whole thing, dude. First you were like, 'whoa'! And then we were all like, 'whoa'! And then you were like, 'whoa'.
Tyson: What are you talking about?
Gina: We saw you fall down a canyon, it was pretty extreme.
Crytas: She's Gina. I'm Crytas. And this(hands Tyson a map)is a map to the very treasure you seek. That is, if you can help us.
Tyson: With what?
(The scene cuts to Forge, one of the five sentinels, and Rhonda dealing with warriors from the Myriad Church)
Gina: Forge!
Forge: Hey, I knew you two would show up. Who's the other dude?
Gina: Explain later, fight now!
(All five take down the enemy)
Rhonda: Nothing like the last time, eh Tyson?(Forge and his friends turn to him)
Tyson: Yes, but that was a time when we still were united...
(Flashback)
Rhonda: Brother, please wait!
Sampson: For the last time, Rhonda, the answer is no.
Rhonda: You are departing for the Rhodos Coast, are you not? I must come!
Sampson: You will do no such thing. I am not going there to pay respects at the cemetery, but to do battle. With you there, I will be beside myself with worry. It will be easier for me to fight if I know you are safe.
Rhonda: But...I must! Oh. Tyson! You have come at just the right time.
Tyson: What's going on?
Rhonda: Surely it must be fate that you have appeared at a time of my greatest need! My dear brother is about to set forth on a most dangerous mission.
Tyson: A mission?
Sampson: Indeed. The Myriad Church is attempting to seize sacred ground by force. Though they now have a new bishop, it seems that a radical faction has emerged to resist the new order. We cannot allow the holy artifacts enshrined there to fall into their hands.
Rhonda: I, too, wish to be of use to the church! And I do admit I am terribly worried about my brother. No matter my protests, he will not allow me to come. Professor, this is where you can help. Will you accompany us both on this expedition?
Tyson: Why me?
Rhonda: If you are there to protect me, my brother's fears will be allayed. Isn't that right, Brother?
Sampson: I suppose your aid would indeed be useful, yes.
Rhonda: I knew it! Please, Tyson, will you join us?
Tyson(narrating): I accepted, only then to convince Oona, Kandan, and Logan to help out. The task was not to be easy, but that's the way we liked it.
Priest: You heretics, who defile our goddess! The sacred coast belongs to us, the Western Church!
Sampson: You are the heretics! Begone from here at once!
Priest: Silence, dog of the apostate! Prepare to receive our righteous blades!
Tyson(narrating): Every turn brought us closer to victory, every swing of the sword brought us even more battle experience, and then some...
Priest 2: It is our duty to worship Saint Cichol! We will not allow heretics to come near!
Priest 1: We're no match for them... Brothers... Retreat...
Sampson: Do you dare compound your crimes further? There will be no escape for you!
Priest 2: But it was...for the sake of the goddess...
Priest 3: Goddess... Have you abandoned us?
Sampson: That is the last of them. Rhonda...will you place some flowers at the monument?
Rhonda: Of course, Brother. That is what I came here to do.
Sampson: Heh. Your assistance is most appreciated. I can only hope that the Western Church will now see reason and abandon this place. But just to be safe, I have retrieved the holy artifacts. We cannot risk them falling into their hands. I will entrust them to you. I must confess, despite the situation, it was a pleasure to return here. This coast has a certain sentimental significance to my sister and me.
Tyson: Sentimental significance?
Sampson: Yes. This stone monument is not merely here to commemorate Saint Cichol. It is also the grave of my wife.
Rhonda: You are safe now, Mother. Finally, you may find peace.
Tyson: Your mother is also buried here?
Sampson: I suppose you have earned the right to know. But this must remain between us. Flayn is actually my daughter. My late wife and her mother are the same person.
Tyson: I had no idea.
Sampson: Due to certain...circumstances, it is more convenient for us to masquerade as siblings for the time being. There are many who would seek to harm Flayn due to the unique blood she bears. Falsifying her identity is necessary to conceal her from such individuals. Mercifully, I happen to look quite young for my age. We make rather convincing siblings, do we not?
Tyson: That's true enough.
Sampson: Hm. I was certain our cover was adequate.
Rhonda: Mother loved the coast so much. She and I came here together often. Fishing was her favorite pastime. I used to sit and watch while she cast her line.
Sampson: I remember it fondly. You did so love to eat the fish she caught, as well.
Rhonda: Fish is my favorite food, it is true. Due in no small part to Mother.
Sampson: I still come here to fish, from time to time, using the skills my wife taught me. It reminds me how deeply I appreciate those years... and how I wish I could return to them.
Rhonda: We cannot turn back the clock, Father. We must live our lives fully, in the present moment.
Sampson: You're right. That is what she always said, isn't it? Dwell too much on the past, and you may be unable to move forward. Come, then. Let us return home.
Rhonda: Good-bye, Mother. I love you. I shall bring flowers again for you next time.
Tyson: It felt good to help them both, because even if you're siblings or not, you're still family. Now, I gotta go Rhonda. There's still a lot I have to do, and not a lot of time to catch up.
(The scene cuts to Drift, another one of the five sentinels who is surrounded by Myriad Church warriors, but is saved by Tyson)
Tyson: I thought Paula took care of this mess, but I guess some folks never learn.
Drift: Man, how do you know that?
Tyson(as the other three join their friend): Well...
(Flashback)
Paula: There you are. I have a request for you.
Tyson: A request?
Paula: It has to do with that plot to assassinate Lady Rhea. The bishop leading the Myriad Church was somehow involved. And speaking of the Myriad Church, there was also that incident in which one of the more extreme factions tried to occupy sacred land. Enough is enough, so now the Knights of Hadoria have been tasked with putting the bishop down. I thought you and your students could come with us. Like you've taught us already, we're stronger together.
Donovan: Um, excuse me! I'd like to come along.
Paula: Donovan! You were listening in? It's not up to you whether you can "come along."
Donovan: Please, this is important to me.
Paula: Your adoptive father, Lord Lonato, had connections to the Western Church. I understand that you want answers. But our objective is to punish, not to investigate. We can't let you jeopardize the mission.
Donovan: I won't get in the way, I promise!
Paula: Hm… What do you say, Tyson? Keep in mind we would be bringing the whole class, not just Donovan.
Tyson(narrating): Naturally, Oona wanted to come too, and I thought this would be a great time to help out. Luke, Kenneth, Cassidy, and Alvin would be the defensive wall, while me, Oona, and Paula would help Donovan. Oh, and we took down our share of priests too...
(When the first priest is defeated)
Irma: It seems that taking out the priest has stopped the reinforcements coming over here. We should be able to stop the reinforcements coming from the other side by taking care of the other priest.
(When the second priest is defeated)
Irma: They will not be able to send any more troops now. Let us sweep up the stragglers.
Paula: Good work, Lady Rhea! Let's round 'em up and cut 'em down.
Donovan: You! Lonato's blood is on your hands…
Bishop: Were you Lord Lonato's page or something? Indeed, he was a devout believer. All we did was provide Lord Lonato salvation from his misery!
Donovan: Salvation?! You used him and threw him away!
Oona: Donovan!(To the bishop)You're the one writing sins, not tragedies!
Tyson: And we won't forgive them all!
Bishop: Apostates will suffer the punishment of the goddess!
Oona and Tyson: ENOUGH!
Bishop: Apostates! You sully the name of the goddess!
Irma: You are the apostates! The goddess is with me! Goddess, have mercy. Forgive them their sins, and save their souls…
Paula: It would have been better if we'd captured the bishop. But they didn't make it easy for us. What now, Lady Rhea?
Irma: We must go to the headquarters of the Western Church. Perhaps there is still someone there who knows what has transpired.
Donovan: Let us help too. It may not be much, but we'll do whatever we can!
Irma: I am sure you will be a great help. I am glad to have you by my side.
Paula: Thanks, you two. I really appreciated your help with the investigation. That's it for today. Head back to Elysium. The church will have to choose a new bishop and do whatever else is necessary to rebuild the Myriad Church. Lady Irma is grateful to all of you. She said she would send along a reward. You should feel very proud. Receiving a gift directly from Lady Irma is exceedingly rare. Still. That was a real mess, huh? For them to come out and charge us so boldly…
Tyson: I'm glad we made it out.
Paula: As am I. We kept Lady Irma safe, thanks to you. Hey, where did Donovan go? I haven't seen him for a while.
Oona: He couldn't still be back there, could he?
Paula: That maybe it. I hope he's not getting in the way… Oh. There you are, Ashe. We were just talking about…
(Donovan sighs)
Paula: Why the brooding expression? Hey, what's that bundle of papers in your hand?
Donovan: This was given to me. It has to do with my family.
Oona: Is this about Lord Lonato?
Donovan: I haven't finished reading it all yet. But I think it might offer some clues about something I need to know. Tyson, Oona, Paula. Thank you for letting me come with you on this mission. I'd better get ready to go.
Paula: It's a little painful to watch… I do hope that those papers, whatever they are, will help him get over his past. I suppose it's time for us to start heading back to the monastery.
Oona: In time, he will come to grips with all that has transpired here, as should we all.
Tyson: Indeed, and as I came to grips with many realities, I found myself in more than I could handle...
Magna: It's your fault those bandits came to us in the first place!
Archer: Oh sure, blame me for everything!
Astro: Will you two ever shut up?
Tyson: I feel bad for you sir, because your friends are behaving like a certain twosome I know. They were in the same predicament as your friends were.
(Flashback)
Julia: It's raining, Tyson. On rainy days, the wound I got from the Blood Trooper hurts like fire. Every time it aches, I get angry. You understand, yeah? I'm sure they had their reasons to kidnap Rhonda, but still... Did they really need to stab me? What'd I have to do with it?! They ruined my beautiful, porcelain skin. Worse, they took off before I could stab them back. So rude.
Samuel: That's rather enough, Julia. Cease your moaning and give the professor a break.
Julia: Oh, stuff it, Samuel. Unlike you, Tyson has a big heart and listens to me talk about any problem I have.
Samuel: More likely, your incessant ramblings offer no chance to interrupt.
Julia: Is that true, Ty?
Tyson: No. Julia isn't bothering me.
Julia: I knew it. You listen to me because you care about me, don't you? Go away, Samuel! Leave us alone. And stop making me shout! it causes the old wound to hurt again.
Samuel: Then perhaps you'd best stay quiet. Keep your emotions in check, I'd say.
Tyson: Let's all get along.
Julia: Don't worry, Tyson. We do this all the time.
Samuel: Indeed, Julia and I do not mix well. Been true for years. That said, if it were up to me, I would prefer speaking to her in a calmer manner.
Julia: It's not like I enjoy bickering with you. So maybe keep your mouth shut more often.
Samuel: I state that which needs to be heard! For example-
Tyson: Oh, please! Let's stop this now.
Julia: I'm sorry. I couldn't help it...
Samuel: Same, same. Apologies. I am here because I have new information on the Death Knight's hiding place.
Julia: What? Really?! You could have started with that.
Samuel: Several students have reported possible sightings on the western edge of the Sealed Forest. While the authenticity of these reports has yet to be verified, it is still a very real possibility. I was thinking I would report this to Sampson as a precaution.
Julia: What? Why? We can't be slow! He's going to get away!
Samuel: Protocol on this matter requires reporting to Sampson, then Lady Irma, then...
Julia: Tyson, let's leave this old geezer behind and get going!
Samuel: Old geezer? I am barely 15 years your senior! I will not hear such-
Julia: Stop talking! Let's gather a team and get going!
Tyson(narrating): Me and Kandan certainly weren't going to like traveling with them every step of the way, but if it would bring them together...
Samuel: Julia's in a tough spot, Professor. Even if she's only got herself to blame, we cannot abandon her.
Bandit Leader: Heh... We have plenty of visitors today. Let's stop their annoying rescue attempt!
Bandit: Now that is a woman...
Julia: Uh-oh. They've noticed me. Here they come!
Aiden: I'll protect you!
(Aiden helps Julia through a maze of bandits until she and Samuel take on their leader)
Julia: Hey! You're not the Blood Trooper! What gives?
Bandit Leader: Blood Trooper? What nonsense are you talking now? Do we look like knights to you, lady?
Julia: You're just lousy hill bandits. Well, I'll teach you to waste my time!
Samuel: Why, there is no Death Knight here. That student's testimony was, well, it was utter bunk!
Bandit Leader: Hey, you! The weird old dude with the beard! What kinda crap are you mumbling to yourself there?
Samuel: I beg your pardon?! Do not image you can insult me without some form of retribution!
Tyson: You've certainly come a long way for such a woman.
Bandit Leader: Yes. We are the Death God Gang! We're all unstoppable!
Tyson: But not invincible...
Samuel: Julia, are you uninjured?
Julia: A few scrapes and bruises. But, yes, I'm well enough. How could anyone think that was the Death Knight? It was obviously just an ordinary bandit. Oh well, I may not have found my revenge, but at least we got to retrieve stolen goods.
Hanneman: Manuela! You unthinking fool!
Julia: Samuel, I've heard enough already.
Samuel: How bloody stupid are you?! If that were the real Death Knight, you'd have new-likely fatal-wounds to match your first! Do you know how much you worried all of us? You should be ashamed!
Julia: Oh no...
Tyson: Samuel's right.
Samuel: Exactly! You are supposed to set an example for our students. Yet you let emotion get the better of you?
Julia: You're right... So there, I said that. It's true, but, ugh. I'm sorry. I'll apologize to everyone later.
Samuel: I should say I'm sorry as well. I lost my temper just now. I see you act so irrationally, and I lose my wits. I care about you a great deal, and wish to see you safe. Will you believe me?
Julia: Yes, of course. I'm the same way, after all. I let my emotions get the best of me. We're both too old to be shouting all the time.
Kandan: So, everyone is friends again?
Julia: You're awfully quick to but a bow on this. Are you sick of us already, Kandan?
Samuel: You're part of this, Kandan. We are the only teachers this academy has. No need for bickering!
Julia: Well said, Samuel. Would you care to join me for a celebratory drink?
Samuel: That sounds lovely. Perhaps a nice cup of tea is in order.
Astro: So, what of the Amber Scythe?
Forge: I feel as if we may be in its presence...
(Tyson comes near the object, and it glows brightly)
Tyson(narrating): Now that I have what I seek, it's time to finally confront the very fiend who made my life a nightmare. Camilla... I come for you!
