Or the Story of the Princess Bride
Long ago,
A Phobos belong to the kin of Beathach arrived at city ruled over by a daonna prince,
From his palace balcony the prince saw the Beathach in the marketsquare,
He saw how frightened his people were of the Beathach and thought of an idea.
He had the Beathach summoned to his court,
The prince proposed a quest for the Beatach,
For the Prince was to marry a princess from a different kingdom but she had no attendants to help her cross the sea that separates their kingdoms,
The prince had requested the Beatach to accompany the princess so that they could marry.
The Beatach agreed and set off on his journey,
He soon arrived at the kingdom and met the princess bride,
She was one of the most beautiful women the Beatach had ever met,
Long hair as dark as the night sky, skin as pure as Geamhradh's snow and eyes of the bluest lapis lazuli gems,
Wise, intelligent and kind to her people, the princess greeted the Beatach gratuitously and without fear of him.
The Beatach was enamoured by the princess bride,
For not only was she beautiful, but humble, noble, strong and held the values associated with the Clan,
However, since she was to be wed to the prince, he had said nothing of his feelings for her.
They voyage to the prince's kingdom,
The Beatach protected the princess from harm while the princess conversed with him,
They talked, laughed and enjoyed each other's company,
They were saddened when their journey had come to an end.
Before she left to marry the prince, the princess bride gave the Beathach a letter for him to read once he left,
In the letter, the princess confessed her love for the Beathach and how she did not want to marry the prince,
Shocked by this revelation, the Beathach transformed into a raven and flew to the tower the princess was kept in.
With his beak, he tapped on the princess's window and she let him inside her chambers,
He transformed into his true form and confessed his love for her as well,
However, he had to question why she did not want to marry the prince.
The princess bride sighed and explained to the Beatach that her father had forced her to marry the prince,
This was known as an arranged marriage, o reader,
Although it seems unusual to us the Phobos,
It is common occurrence for the royalty of the outside lands.
Appalled, the Beathach offered the princess an escape from a loveless marriage,
The princess agreed happily and the Beathach transformed himself into a mighty Eun Bàs and the princess climbed onto his feathered back,
Stretching his wings, the Beathach leapt through the window and carried the princess out of the prince's kingdom.
The Beathach smiled as the princess laughed happily at her escape,
He asked the princess where he should take her,
The princess stroked his back and told him to take her where she is happiest the most,
Confused, the Beathach questioned her where that was,
'Wherever thou are,' the princess replied, 'that is where I am the happy the most.'
The Beathach's heart skipped and they flew back to the Island of Fear,
The Phobos welcomes her and they married soon after,
And they lived happily ever after.
