Chapter 2: Training
Naruto had wake up only to see is still night.
'Oh wait yes I'm in a cave.' Remembered Naruto.
"Hey you are finally moving again." Said his new friend Guru-Guru.
"Yep." Said Naruto but then his stomach started to make sounds.
"So where can I get some Ramen." Asked Naruto.
"Well we have some 'food' but I don't think we have this ramen." Said Guru-Guru.
"How can we have food but not ramen at all!?" asked Naruto.
"Sorry boy maybe next week when we go after food. But now hurry we have work do to after this." Said Guru-Guru.
Guru-Guru was instructed with learning Naruto like how Obito learned from Madara.
First step was to learn Naruto the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu so he can use them and start to learn to control his chakra control.
Guru-Guru just hoped Naruto will still remain the same happy kid he is at the moment just like Obito use to be before.
Guru-Guru love Obito but even he didn't know why. He had befriended the Uchiha before the whole trauma he had to endure. He had felt the pain that Obito had went through when they were 'merged'. He cared for Obito's wellbeing, for his happiness. That was the reason he was helping Obito fulfill their 'plan'. He wanted him to be happy in the dream world.
"Hey where is Tobi?" asked Naruto.
"He will come later but now the first thing you need to learn is the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu."
"What! No that jutsu again I'm not good at using Bushin no Jutsu." Said Naruto
"No that one, this is something else even better. Which will help you." said Guru-Guru then continued to explain the jutsu to Naruto.
"The Kage Bunshin no jutsu divides the charka of the user evenly between himself and each clone you make. But if a person uses it to much or stupidly it could cost them to die of chakra exhaustion." Said Guru-Guru.
This caused Naruto to pale slightly.
"Don't worry you should be fine because of the Kyuuby who raised your chakra reserves. Oh and whatever a Kage Bunshin learns is transfered back to you when dispelled. That makes it a great jutsu for scouting and accelerates the learning part."
Naruto eyes widen and said "Really...but..."
"I can tell you didn't know this before and that means that all this time you could have been making great strides in becoming a better ninja has been wasted because you didn't know." Said Guru-Guru.
Naruto frowned as he heard that and said "Did I really just waste all this time so far...why didn't anyone tell me?"
Then he remembered what Tobi told him back in Konoha and come up with his own answer.
'We live in a cruel world…' thought Naruto.
"Don't worry Naruto we can work on correcting that mistake now so watch." Said Guru-Guru as he started to show Naruto the hand sign.
Naruto learned fast to use the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu and started the leaf exercise but watching Naruto getting tiring of having to remake the jutsu for each clone Guru-Guru come up with a better idea and learned Naruto the Tajū Kage Bunshin no Jutsu.
The clones could use jutsu and send their memory to the user upon dispelling.
It does requires high chakra reserves and could potentially kill the user if they made more than their reserves could handle.
Also, dispelling large numbers of clones simultaneously could cause brain damage to the user due to memory backlash.
Guru-Guru told Naruto not to make more then 50 for moment unless it was necessary or he felt he could handle more. While Naruto may have been an idiot, he wasn't stupid.
Naruto and 25 of his clones started the leaf floating exercise then later they started walking up and down on rooks in the cave . While Naruto could create over 800 clones he couldn't create over 25 that could mold chakra well enough to be of use.
Still, getting 25 times the work done had done wonders for his Naruto's control.
Later
Uchiha Obito, known by a select few as Uchiha Madara, and everyone else as Tobi, was not a happy camper.
Obito had went and visited Pain and Konan. They still had trust issues even now...
He actually started growing fond of Nagato.
They had the same goal, even if their way of reaching it was different after all, they were using each other, ready to backstab the other when the time came.
All in the name of peace.
Is hard to refuse to help when there is a way of archiving peace and someone actually gives you the power and tools necessary for doing this.
Right now after finishing his work he was currently chilling in the Mizukage's office, reading through a stack of papers.
His puppet, The Sanbi's Jinchuriki, Yagura, was off to the side, blankly staring at a wall. He locked almost like a house pet.
The White half of Zetsu even wanted to trow a ball to Yagura and watch him go after it like a pet.
"Tobi I think is the time we go and see how our 'guest' is doing." said Black Zetsu.
Obito nodded.
They left some other Zetsu and Guru-Guru to work with Naruto this whole day. After the kid learned to control his chakra in more or less time with the help of the clones. He will start to work with him on other things.
After a lot of training Naruto took a breach while his clone continued with the leaf training as that way Naruto didn't have to remake them everytime they fall from rooks and dispel.
When Guru-Guru pulled a set of cards out of nowhere Naruto joined him and the others Zetsu clones from the room and played poker with them.
Naruto was already making friends with a lot of Zetsu from there.
He always wanted to have some friends. He did all he could to get attention back in Konoha. But now in this place he fell like he can be himself and had people who actually cared for him and he didn't have any regrets for leaving the village. He in did missed some people the Hokage-jiji and Teuchi… but it was better like this.
They were all better without him was what Naruto thought.
Another Zutsu come out of the ground.
Zetsu looked at Guru-Guru. "He's coming."
Naruto tilted his head to the side. "Who?"
"Who else?"
"Oh!" Guru-Guru clapped his hands together with excitement. "Wow, He's finally coming back."
When Obito and Zutsu returned they locked around the room. There were Naruto Guru-Guru playing poker with other Zetsu clones and behind them they could see 25 clones of Naruto who were making the leaf chakra training.
Naruto didn't utter a word, nor did the Masked Man. They both stared at one another in dead silence.
The Masked Man was quiet for some time while looking down at Naruto. And analyzing everything in the room.
"Hey Tobi do you like orange to?" asked Naruto.
Naruto was hesitant to ask at first, but he was actually very curious the mask was orange after all.
Orange wasn't people's usual color to have. So, Tobi having an orange mask made Naruto think Tobi liked the color. Maybe he can get one orange mask to at some point.
Obito frowned at the question, even if it was an innocent one, it didn't seat too well in him. Why would the boy even waste his time asking him something so trivial?
Orange was his favorite color. Was… many years ago, but how did the boy end up assuming it?
Probably the masks he wore gave the Naruto such idea. He didn't like to be remained about that.
Naruto didn't take the lack of answer as a good sign, but that didn't keep him from sharing his thoughts.
"That's my favorite color too…" Naruto said pointing at his clothes.
Naruto had similar color he once had to his clothes when he was young but with inverted colors.
The whole cave was in silence at the moment.
"Starting tomorrow… I'm your instructor," The masked man said in his dark deep tone. Naruto fell silent, and stared at him.
"Really! Cool, then can I call you Tobi-sensei?" Asked Naruto very elated.
"You can call me by that name if that what you want." Was Tobi's answer. He didn't really care.
"Cool, hey want to play cards with us." Asked Naruto hoping he will join them.
Tobi didn't say anything but he did sit down with them and played while not using words only when needed.
He was doing this to win Naruto's trust even if he didn't like when he asked him personal questions.
Actually he didn't like doing this at all but without even noticing he was actually enjoying a little to play the game as he was attempting to ignore a childhood that was robbed from him and a lot other people because of the Shinobi system who send kids in war.
Obito chose this path and joined Madara because he understood that through his own experience not everyone gets lucky in like.
As Madara said where there is light there is also shadows. There can't be winners without losers.
Next day
Naruto had wake up and started to prepare for training with Tobi-sensei. For moment only Zutsu with Guru-Guru where there.
"Hey guys where is Tobi-sensei." Asked Naruto ready to learn from his sensei.
"He needs to get something he will be back soon." Said the White half of the Zetsu.
"So any advice which can help me." Asked Naruto.
"When your single and alone… the only one you can count Is yourself." Said The White and Black half of the Zetsu.
"And what dream do you want to have Naruto." Asked Guru-Guru.
"Well I wanted to become the Hokage so I can be acknowledged and accepted but now I'm no longer sure." Said Naruto.
"You had a good dream but the reason is selfish." Tobi said as he came back holding weights.
Naruto had to wear them on his ankles and hands. They would help him develop speed, and pure physical strength.
Naruto fell silent, staring at their instructor a bit with shock.
"What do you mean selfish?" asked Naruto.
"Your dreams…they do not seem to have a reason to help others. This is what happens when one has individuality," said Tobi.
He was right but Naruto still wanted to become Hokage for another reasons
He had wanted to become like them. In the beginning, it had been his attempt to gain recognition, but later when he had been forced to read about them by Iruka-sensei, and told their stories by Hokage-jiji, he had wanted to become like them for different reasons.
But after spending one day here with the new friends he had now, he was no longer sure.
"You are right but what is your motivation, why do you want to achieve peace in this world?" asked Naruto.
"Why would anyone? Is it not a goal that most would try to achieve, or are you asking for my story to get a reasoning behind my motivations?" Tobi asked.
"I guess…but can you tell me more please." Asked Naruto
"If you must know my life started in the shadows like yours in then I found a light of hope, but then fell into the shadows once again when that light of hope was took away. All because the five great nations decided their war was more important than the lives of others." Said Tobi.
"The five great nations? Who are they?" asked Naruto.
"Naruto, there are five Kage. The Hokage, the Tsuchikage, the Mizukage, the Raikage, and the Kazekage. They each run one of the major hidden villages." Said Guru-Guru.
"Wait, wait, wait! There are Kage? I thought there was just the Hokage, dattebayo!" said Naruto.
Obito felt like smacking the living hell out of the instructors at the Academy and Naruto. What the hell did he learn in that god-forsaken place?!
Obito then released a small amount of killer intent that made Naruto and Guru-Guru shiver.
"That is the reason I want to change this shinobi system that is in place, take it out from its deep roots within our world and replace with a light of peace. So that others will not feel what I and you have felt, dark and war-torn world has only caused despair. It needs to be done away with, so that others may live the life they were intended." Tobi finished.
"I want to help you change the world too, Tobi-Sensei!" Yelled Naruto.
"Your help is needed more then you think. Let's start the training." Said Tobi.
Naruto was now motivated to train while he had hope and happiness in him. Tobi was his opposite, he lost hope and was doing the things without enjoying them.
Training
Obito started to train Naruto.
At first Obito learned with the help of Madara.
Madara used the Gedo Mazo and increase the power of his genjutsu and make it like as a sort of pseudo infinite Tsukuyomi illustrating the concept to Obito.
It allowed Madara to freely manipulate time and space in the genjutsu world.
Madara teached Obito a tremendous amount of informations in a short period of time.
Then he learned from scrolls left from Madara. And is not only the scrolls having the Zetsu to explain a discussion over a concept is often crucial to understanding it.
Naruto's clones started to read some scrolls from Tobi. They mainly labelled Chakra Molding for Beginners, Chakra Control for Intermediates and Advanced Chakra Manipulation. And the Naruto's clones could ask Zetsu anything he needed to know.
"Before I begin to teach you anything. You must have jounin-level chakra control. Your body must be conditioned physically. You must also know your chakra affinity.'' He paused for a moment before continuing. ''With jounin-level chakra control, you will be able to learn ninjutsu without too much difficulty. When your body is conditioned physically, I will be able to teach you Taijutsu and a lot more.'' Said Tobi to the original Naruto.
Naruto nodded with a smile.
''What do we begin with, Tobi-sensei?'' Asked Naruto with excitement.
''You have no defined taijutsu style and you lack speed and physical training. For moment we are going to work on those." said Tobi.
Tobi handed the weights he had with him to Naruto ''Put them on.''
Naruto did as was instructed but found it rather hard to stand straight due to the extra weight that he carried.
"Now run around the cave. It does not matter how many times you run, I just want you to get used to having the extra weight on your body.'' Said Tobi.
Naruto began to jog as he could run with the weights on.
Obito was certain that because Naruto was a Uzumaki, his body would be able to adapt fast to the weights. Any damaged muscles would be healed over night because he was an Uzumaki and Kyuubi's chakra should improve that like how it improved Naruto chakra since he was a kid.
And so the day went on.
25 of his clones who could mold chakra continued the training Guru-Guru teach him. Others were reading the scrolls more times to memory everything.
And he did what Tobi told him.
Night
It was already close to night.
Naruto was very exhausted. His clones already were dispelled and he was on the floor.
"Is enough for today." said Tobi.
Guru-Guru then come and picked Naruto up.
"Don't worry Naruto, soon you will gets use to." said Guru-Guru as he know, Obito did same training a lot of times and a lot more...
Naruto was about to become unconscious, but before he heard this and had a smile on his face.
He did it. He was making progress and was having friends who acknowledge him.
Author Note (warning: potential spoilers)
Retcon: Obito/Tobi only wear a black cape when he talked with Naruto in Konoha not the Akatsuki cape.
This is the second chapter.
It will be possible to take more time to come up with ideas for the next chapters.
But suggestions are good if anyone wants to give me some in review.
Madara know about the Uzumaki clan and the most likely learned Obito about them.
Now there is something very tempting for me to try. I did it in another of my story and it feels like it can fit for this one to very well.
Having Naruto taken away just like this will make Hiruzen to do something drastically to get him back. After all he did promise he will take care of Naruto and him not doing anything is not something I imagine will happend in canon if Naruto was indid taken away.
So the idea is that Hiruzen Sarutobi did know every jutsu in Konoha so is not hard to imagine that he could use the Edo Tensei and revive Kushina and toghether later they manage to revive Minato so he can go and save their son.
Now the reason for this is not just because I want for some reason have them in the story but Obito and Naruto are just too powerfull (Naruto will be later on) not to mention having both Nagato and Konan on their team and the other Akatsuki members to.
So having an revived Minato and Kushina will actually be a huge challenge for The Akatsuki and Obito.
Like just think that Jiraiya, Orochimaru, Kakashi, Sasuke, Itachi or even Danzo are not a huge enemy for Obito. Maybe if we put them on the same team then yes...
And we would have more cool fighting scenes then just talk in this story...
Now this is something I want you guys to decide in review if it should happen or not in this story/what if, because a lot of events can change. But I can continued it either way.
I might even have a chapter or two with things that still happen in Konoha. But more chapters will be about Obito and Naruto.
I would have written more but didn't really know at the moment what else to add in this chapter.
Spoiler for next chapters : There will still be one or two chapters with Naruto training and maybe going on a mission before he will have to face his first opponent: Gaara of the Sand.
