Chapter 6: New Found Power

[At Hoshokawa Hospital, 1:36 PM, A Day After First Demi Elite Ambush]
After a horrific encounter with the first demi elite attack. Juinchi is currently bed ridden and severally in critical condition while being tended to in Hoshokawa Hospital. Hakune who's sitting close beside the injured Juinchi places her hands on his chest pleading for his full recovery. The stress of watching someone close to her get hurt while being unable to do anything about it had brought back the nightmarish event took place back when she was being hunted down by hordes of bloodthirsty demi spawns. The time her friend Ginko sacrificed herself to buy her enough time to escape through the portal without any Demi's tailing her. The way Juinchi sacrificed himself for her really showed how much he cared about her. Despite having known Juinchi for just a month or two, she had already grown to respect him for how much he's willing to go for her. Not only that he gave her a new chance of life within the human world. She knew that if she hadn't moved away from that alleyway where she met Juinchi. There's no doubt that her life would have ended.
Kyto having sat down on the other chair from the far-left corner took a long hard look at the two. He's quite surprised that Juinchi of all people would do the things he'd done to risk his own life for a demon girl, one who he barely knew of a month. Having thought that, it was glaringly obvious that these two really grew for each other. "To think that you'd actually found someone you like along seeing the way she feels for you man, I would admit you really have a keeper. Though I wasn't expecting you'd date a demon girl...For now hang in their buddy." Kyto thought until he brought up a scene that got his attention regarding to how Juinchi was able to fight on par with a demon. "But the way you took out that supposed "Demi Elite" you and your girlfriend said. How did you get so strong? And the aura around you...was it what I think it was?..." Before he could confirm his suspicion, the awkward silence broke out when a doctor came into Juinchi's room.
"I see you two came to check up on Tatagashi San." The doctor dryly stated while fixing his glasses and checking over the diagnostic reports.
Both Kyto and Hakune stood up and replied to the doctor. "Doc, how are things with him?" Kyto asked with a single sweat dropping down from his face. Doctor Todiyama places his clipboard with papers on the table and stood beside Juinchi checking up his vitals and analyze his health status. Hakune urges to get a response from the doctor to see how her Juinchi is holding up. "Please doctor! I need to know how he's doing...I can't stand seeing him like this!" Hakune begged, when she tried to press on more unnecessarily due to her fear of losing another loved one Kyto places his hand on her shoulder and shook his head. "Calm down Hakune...raising our voices won't help Juinchi." Kyto firmly addressed while glancing at the doctor. "Doc, give us something about him."
"Alright you two...here are some good news and some bad news...about Juinchi's condition." He writes down the paper after finishing the test he conducted on Juinchi to see any changes from his patient but for now he can offer them an explanation concerning where he stands.
"W-What is it doctor?! Please tell us!" Her impatience became apparent for both Kyto and the doctor as she pleads. He sets Hakune down and calm her down. "Please calm down Hakune, let him finish..." She took a deep breath and sat back down as she places her hands on her lap feeling hopeless. "S-sorry...it's just I worry for Juinchi. I don't know what I'd do if something happens to him!..." Hakune solemnly stated "I know, me too." Kyto agreed as he turned attention to the doctor hoping that the good news outweigh the bad. "So, doctor please tell us the good news first."
"Alright...so our patient Tatagashi San is going to be fine in terms of his physical condition...there isn't any signs of fractured bones or internal bleeding so he will recover naturally on his own, so surgery is not needed for this." The doctor stated while replacing the empty IV bag with a new one to stabilize the unconscious orange head.
Kyto took a sigh of relief but he further asks the doctor about the next one. "Then what's the bad news?..."
"Well, you see...due to the multiple cuts around his body especially his torso, he had lost a huge amount of blood...it's a miracle he is still alive but because of all the blood loss he fell into a coma so it will take much longer for him to wake up."
"T-then what should we do...?" Hakune hesitantly asked scared of the answer.
"Well we have the option to transfer some blood into his body with blood transmission. All we need to do is figure out what kind of blood type he has in order to do it..and here is another bad news...on our first blood test...Tatagashi San seems to have a completely different blood type that none of our blood specialists recognize or make of it..." The doctor spoke regretfully.
"So, there is no way to help him at all?!" Given the situation this put Hakune in a state of sheer panic pleading the doctor to try harder. "Doctor there has to be some way to help him!"
"Please don't panic, like I said he will be fine and recovering just in a slow process and to our prediction he should be able to wake up in a couple of weeks."
"Kyto?..." She turns towards him realizing that Juinchi is his head cook in his restaurant hoping this doesn't affect his job placement after what happened.
He smiles and pats her shoulder giving her the answer she's about to ask for. "Don't worry I won't fire him fully knowing what he went through just a moments ago….I'd be ruining my reputation for firing my most trusted employee for being attacked by a bunch of demons or demi's whatever you call them."
"Thank you so much..." Once that's settled, she places her full undivided attention onto the resting Juinchi as she continues to put her hands onto his chest reminiscing what she can do to repay for his suffering by the hands of those demi scums. "Juinchi once you're awake I'll make you some delicious foods that you can't resist and bring them here...and...and...I'll feed you with every bite. So that way you can recover much quicker!" She then proceeds to kiss him on his cheeks gently while placing his hands together to allow him to be comfortable. "I know you won't wake up to hear this...but I love you...and truthfully...you have done enough for me, having to see you take care for me, give me a place to stay, and even save me multiple times was too much for me let it all slide. It's just not fair for you…. Now I will do what I can to make it up to you...and that's a promise."
Unaware of Hakune's words and oath Juinchi is currently deep in thought while trying to find ways to get over the traumatic event regarding to one of Hakune's sworn enemies coming to haunt her. "I seriously need to become stronger…I can't always rely on what I have to keep her safe for once...Juinchi, you have to take this new life more seriously now! That one act with Raizen could have been the end of both of us! You can't let that happen again!" Juinchi thought to himself while cursing at his own naïve stance thinking an enemy like Raizen would follow through with his fake promise.
Meanwhile Miyuki came to see Juinchi as well for her turn to visit him. She even brought a few friends to support Juinchi's recovery and assist the nurses with cleaning duties. Today is another visit from Miyuki and her friends as they grant access to Juinchi's room after talking to the front desk for a visit. Once they arrive Miyuki proceeded to change the withered flowers with a new fresh bundle of beautiful sunflowers and tulips. Having to witness Juinchi in such a state truly made the long blonde super model brokenhearted, she then sets her sights on Emy Hizugashi regarding to her call on behalf of Juinchi's predicament.
"Emy..I want to say thanks for letting me know what's going on during Juinchi's and Hakune's date. I wouldn't imagine what may have happened if I didn't notify Kyto about some strange guys following them."
"No problem! And yeah, I know if I haven't noticed those guys, Juinchi may have died right there...the thing is I really was quite surprised that Juinchi have managed to eat up all that ongoing assault done to him by those deranged Demi creatures..." Emy shivers having to be in Juinchi's shoes. "It was so hard to see...!"
"I know, I noticed that the moment I saw the scars it was incredible that he has survived. Either way I'm so relieved he's still alive…" She helps tuck Juinchi's bed sheets so that he can be comfortable while making sure any of the instruments that help keep him stable are in proper place and order. After a few minutes Miyuki puts in the effort of cleaning Juinchi's nursing room while asking one of the nurses to get some towel rags to clean him up.
After an hour passed one of Miyuki's friends mentioned about the relationship between Miyuki and Juinchi, a topic that shouldn't be a factor currently. It was clear to Miyuki that she and Juinchi are not in a way that close with each other. In fact, she knew Juinchi wouldn't want to think that way either. Sure, both used to be roommates but they just good friends nothing more and nothing less.
"It's too bad you and Juinchi are not in a relationship the fact that you care so much for him pretty much indicate that the both of you could make a great couple... since I can tell you have feelings for him. Plus, the two of you used to live together in an apartment, so I assume you and Juinchi may have develop something!" Yukino crosses her arms while pouting.
"Yukino...no...Juinchi is considered my best friend and nothing more...you see...sure I have deep feelings for him before he met Hakune...he and I did hang out often during our high school years and lived as roommates...he has always been a gentleman. He even gave me a gift that is so meaningful to me I actually did fell for him. That is until we have to go separately on our career opportunities. I couldn't bring myself to say it since I wanted to know what he thought about me from his own words. Of course, you know where it goes from here." She let out a small smile "It didn't go what I hoped…"
"Huh? So, what happened?" Becoming curious, she leans forward trying to catch her response to her loss of being with Juinchi. "Then what were the reasons for him not to?"
"Well, when he came to my rehearsal, I thought he came to propose to me...I asked him if that was the case..." She solemnly smiles. "Turns out he rejected me and only see me as his best friend...as you can see the reason behind this rejection is because of the strict rule of not allowing any form of significant relationship with another once I became a model. Juinchi wanted to make sure that I don't lose my place for my career. With his help, he taught me how to talk like a super model and knowing what I should wear to be presentable among the others. Hehe the next one is definitely understandable; he doesn't want to get involved with any of future angry male paparazzi hounding him down if he ever does want to be my boyfriend." Miyuki chuckled. "Even fans of mine would come to see him just to talk about me would probably drive him crazy."
"Awwwww….that's too bad..." Emy sadly pouted.
"No one is forcing him to do so, it's his decision and I respect that. Besides his feelings with Hakune is much stronger than me. Also, when Hakune told me how their date went, it was the cutest experience I ever heard hehe." She smiles sweetly at them and towards Juinchi. "Anyway, girls it's time to get going." With that the three girls left the room while Miyuki is the last person out, just as she's about to go she took a quick glance at Juinchi and makes a worrisome look. "Please get well soon Juinchi...Hakune is worried sick for you..."
Once the room is completely empty Juinchi's body began to glow bright blue as surge of energy beings to engulf his entire body just like the first, the bluish particles start to envelope his wounds cleansing them thus healing him gradually. The power that has emerged within Juinchi cannot be seen through human eyes as a couple of doctors, nurses, and visitors pass by without noticing the amount of blue bright aura that's turning to lightning spirals now vacuumed straight into Juinchi. Once everything is clear, Juinchi's eyes begin to open as he starts blinking a few times to adjust himself before he got up. Once he placed his feet down on the marbled tile floors, he then took a quick glance at the door that Miyuki left. Juinchi looked down to take in the words Miyuki said and simply response without anything holding him back.
"Sorry...Miyuki but I do love Hakune...it's hard to deal with the things you mentioned to your friends..." As he gets up to have a feel of his rejuvenated body, he threw punches at the air noticing he can attack much faster and the force behind the punch just by the way the wind is being pushed back showed he's improving. With that being taken care of he also caught the words Hakune said during her visit as he feels a bit guilty to have her worry for him so much. "Hakune...I also heard your conversation... I'm so sorry to worry you...I failed to protect you...from the last fight...I have to get even stronger, so you won't have to deal with anymore fighting...And won't allow that mistake to happen again. I can't afford to show weakness towards a Demi Elite." Once his hand clench into a fist his entire body is bursting with a huge amount of power as blue aura surges around him.
"What in the?.… there it goes again…" The same powers that emerge just like the fight with three of the demi's and the street punks. "Hmmm maybe if I..." Slowly he concentrates on his fist solely putting all his focus into that one point. Suddenly pure spiraling blue energy converges onto his left fist. "What is this?...It's so different than the powers I used to have..." Then for a few short minutes it disappeared. "Hold on….I remember this...it's the same one that I used to beat that big looking Demi that held Hakune hostage...maybe..." An idea pops up.
Just before he can act upon his theory the nurse came in, to her shock she sees Juinchi awake, entirely healed and standing up straight. Juinchi sighs and sat down as the nurse ran out and inform the doctor about Juinchi's miraculously quick recovery. This also led to the doctor informing Hakune first, then the rest of his friends about him. Juinchi decides to get up and walk out of the room while asking the doctor for some fresh air.
"Doctor may I have some fresh air, I just don't feel like staying in the room all day…" Juinchi plainly states while cracking his soar arms and legs.
"Sure, go ahead, I have contacted your friends and they'll be here in a few minutes. I'll notify them that you're up on the top floor getting fresh air. And please don't consider anything suicidal up there..." The doctor pleaded.
"I appreciate that, thank you...tell them I'll be on the roof top okay, don't worry I just want to at least get a feel of the outdoors..." The orange head explained.
"Sure." And with that the doctor went on with his business allowing Juinchi to do as he asked.
After arriving to the roof top of the hospital Juinchi tests his new powers by doing some athletic moves around the area. He's much faster, stronger, durable, and more hyper focused on his surroundings. As things have gotten quiet, it's the best opportunity to test out the strange power that have shown itself the moment Juinchi places strength, power, and focus into his fist. So, he did the same procedure to cast out the pure blue energy that now shines around him. He then places his fist in a cocked position while channeling the immense number of electrical spirals straight into his fist manipulating them to swirls causing it to form a fiery sphere. "Here it is..." He motions the spear while targeting his sights up to the sky filled with clouds as he positioned his newest attack at his intended spot. Right before he is about to unleash the blast, the rooftop door opens revealing the gang who came to see Juinchi.
"Juinchi...!... h-huh? What the?... " Hakune suddenly stopped herself from going towards Juinchi. The powered-up orange head threw his energy blast straight at the air and it explodes into a huge boom radius clearing the clouds away. Having seen that, everyone is shocked to witness the outcome of Juinchi's new technique along with his swift and quick recovery.
"Juinchi!? What was that! Holy moly! You can do that?!" Miyuki exclaimed.
"That was some attack you did...how in the world did you even do that?!" Kyto asked until he notices a residual amount of blue energy shrouding onto Juinchi. "That's...no way! How did he?!..." Kyto's now stunned at the power Juinchi unintentionally showcased.
"...Whoa...a-amazing..." She stood there in utter awe of Juinchi's strength. "Juinchi?" Hakune blankly stood by slowly coming close to her boyfriend.
"Thats it...I'll call this move the Torrent Breaker..." He chuckles in clear excitement as he turns his attention to his friends. "Hey guys!"
"Hold on?" It was just a day after he was sent to the hospital and the doctor did say that Juinchi wouldn't wake up from his coma until a few more weeks have passed, how did he recover in less than a day?! And that familiar power how in the world did he get it?! "Juinchi how did you!...What's going on here?!" Kyto demanded.
Seeing everyone's reaction Hakune quickly stood beside Juinchi and lets everyone know everything about Juinchi's change plus her involvement and story behind his change.
"Everyone...I think it's time to confess this to you all since I'm heavily responsible of what just saw coming from Juinchi..." Hakune said with caution and uncertainty.
