Chapter 9: The Demi-Elite of Retribution

On the next day and probably the last one for the sleep over, Juinchi tardily forces his eyes to open but failed utterly because of his painful headache caused by his nightmare last night. The orange hair gradually pushes himself up from his bed and notices that the room is neatly cleaned, no more cluttering from the office table, no clothes being tossed to the side in the closet and thoroughly folded. Most of all the scent from the air in the room has a more vanilla smell to it. He looked around and to his surprise his girlfriend Hakune is lifting another batch of clothes in a basket. She's wearing her usual pink apron and bandanna as she's taking those dirty clothes straight to the laundry room. Juinchi sighs and gave off a curious smirk wondering to himself if he's becoming lazy for once in his life. Having someone doing the cleaning than him felt pretty odd but still quite refreshing. He got up and covertly goes into the same room and sees Hakune gently putting those dirty clothes in the washer. Unaware of Juinchi, this gave the snickering young man the chance to sneak up behind her and places his hands on her waist and places his head on her right shoulder while say "Boo" thus surprising Hakune.
"Eeek!" Hakune squeaks from the sudden touch of her waist and warmth of her shoulder as she turns her head ever so slowly and pouts while having her cheeks turn pink. "J-Jeez...Juinchi...everyone's still sleeping..." Hakune continues to shiver from the feeling sensation from her hips as Juinchi continued to trail up his arms to her chest as he wraps his arms around her. Despite being taken by surprised Hakune regardless smiles and places her hand on his head stroking his hair.
"Can't help it, besides I am quite pleasantly surprised of how much you just made this whole place spotless. I kinda felt pretty bad that I wasn't up early to help you with the cleaning." Juinchi loosens his hug to allow Hakune room space.
Before he could pull his arms away the demoness turns herself around and stares into his eyes and places both her hands on his cheeks and gently kisses him while she feels her hair being stroked by her orange haired boyfriend. For a short minute Hakune lets go of her embrace and proceed to satisfy his curiosity of her hard work. "Isn't obvious? I wanted to let you rest, you gave me a place to live, fed me with delicious homemade food, got me a job, and being here with you is the reason why I am doing this. You basically took care of me, and I love you for it. So, it's the least I can do so you can finally take it easy for once." Hakune slowly rest her head on his shoulder and closes her eyes feeling the warmth from Juinchi.
"Well, I really do appreciate it honey. I'll start breakfast while you continue on." Before he could exit the laundry room Hakune halts Juinchi on another topic that was left unmentioned. Juinchi stops as he turns his head slowly glancing at her.
Hakune looks on with concern as she places her hand to where her heart is clearly wanting to know if that night must have affected him. "About last night, your nightmare does it have anything to do with your demonic blood acting up inside you?" She hesitantly asks hoping nothing escalated.
Juinchi raises his eyebrow for how she even knew of that, but he shook his head with his face turned solemn as he went the other way with his head down. "No...it's not the demon blood, it's something else, maybe just a random nightmare." Then again when Hakune mentions about the demonic blood acting up he seems confused as to what she's talking about? "What do you mean by the demonic blood acting up honey?" Juinchi again faces his lover trying to elaborate on what she meant.
Obviously her eyes showed sadness and somewhat shameful for something yet it's still unbeknownst. "Well...since I was the one who injected you the demonic blood in you, I fear that the blood that's driving in you may still have my memories instilled. So I thought that the nightmare you've experienced was the painful memory of my people being taken from me..." She urges hoping that doesn't sound too depressing.
Juinchi widens his eyes, is that what it was? Yet that image of a huge creature who slaughtered his parents and taking away someone who is close to him was the lowest point he had to remember. But then again, he did end up meeting a shadowy being telling him off about not being worthy. Despite all that he just goes on with it as usual. "I see..." Juinchi took a pause and then moves out of the room while Hakune watches on feeling regretful. "Juinchi…"
Though a little shaken up Juinchi slaps his own cheeks to get better focus on himself so he can continue on with cooking. Sometime later Juinchi had a boiling pot full of water and half a cup of rice to make porridge while setting five small bowls on the edge of the bar counter. The smoking aroma have brought Miyuki, Kyto, and Emy had come out of their room already fully clothed. They are now grouping together at the kitchen getting served with some delicious rice porridge with delicious sides like chopped Chinese sausages, black pepper meat, chopped diced onions and green onions, and finally Chinese donuts. Hakune later joins in for this meal thus having everyone take their own bowls and gorging down on the soupy rice while trying out the different selection of toppings.
Kyto took a quick taste test on the porridge trying with each topping per bite. "Excellent, this rice porridge is steamed in a proper way and the rice slowly liquefies after my bite without feeling that slimy texture. And these black pepper meat Juinchi...So good!" He continues to take most of the meat.
Emy forms a tick mark on her head as she places her hand on his food picking hands, while angrily calls him out. "Kyto! Save some for us! There aren't gonna be enough for us if you keep taking the same thing!" Emy pouts annoyingly. And then Hakune expresses his lack of table manners."Yeah!" She does the same reaction while making a glaring disapproving look. And then Miyuki joins the bandwagon while tapping her chopsticks on her bowl while biting her bottom lip.
"Mhm! You're basically eating up the best topping for the porridge soup!"
Kyto comically sweat drops as he turns to look at Juinchi hoping he has extra black pepper beef cooking at the moment. Unfortunately, his fellow chef shook his head almost enjoying Kyto's predicament for once. "Oh man….Sorry ladies I just can't help myself here, this stuff is by far my favorite thing to eat with porridge." Kyto sighs and places his left hand on his cheeks and lean sideways out of disappointment for not getting more of it.
Thirty minutes have passed as everyone has had their fill after finishing up their meal. Miyuki and Emy are about to go out to do some shopping. Kyto decided to stay in for the majority of the day while Juinchi cleans up the counter and setting the bowls in the sink while keeping the leftovers in the fridge to last much longer. Just before Juinchi could do some dish washing Hakune intervenes and insisted to do it for him along with asking Juinchi to just hang back and relax so she can continue on with her voluntary assistance. The orange head tilts his head pausing for a few seconds until he asks his demoness girlfriend if she's okay with that.
"Hakune? Are you sure you wanna keep cleaning? I mean you've pretty much got this whole place looking speckless." Juinchi asking his girlfriend hoping she doesn't push herself too hard.
With sheer determination she continued her chores without complaints. "Please Juinchi, let me handle this I can manage this for you. All I ever want you to do is rest. You basically worked even harder making meals for everyone." She looks up at him with pure sparkling doe shape eyes begging him to say yes for her.
Juinchi was taken a back from her continuous insistence, yet he toned down his expression and revert back to his nonchalant smile and nods. "Sure thing Hakune, thank you so much." He went up to Hakune and gave her a sweet kiss on the cheek while watching Hakune's cheeks flushes with deep red blushes making her look ever more adorable from his point of view grateful to have her as his beloved lover. "I'll just hang with Kyto playing some games if you don't mind."
"Please do so! I'll finish up at the guest room. Have fun dear!" Hakune grabs a towel and spray proceeding her way to the guest room where the girls slept.
Juinchi took a seat down on the floor to where Kyto had already sat down about 6 feet away from each other. Juinchi stretches and grabs the remote while turning the t.v. and game console on. He hands Kyto one of the controllers. For a good hour the two played a game called Tower Force resembling an anime well known by the two of them. Both Kyto and Juinchi have worked together to go through each level of the game taking out enemies from their virtual character creations from the game and managed to reach halfway to the game. The two are having a swell time until Juinchi finally turned the game off just to take a break from their virtual escapade. Kyto then looked at Juinchi and asks him regarding his time with Hakune.
"She sure loves to dominate you with her cuteness huh Juinchi? Man, who knew you have a soft spot for sexy demon girls like her?" He budges his friend's shoulder while doing a wolf eyebrow raise just to tease him for being the luckiest guy to have someone like her.
Juinchi deadpan looked at his friend/boss as he grumbled under his voice. "Stop it dude, you're not making this any easier." That is until he heard a soft chuckle from the background signaling Hakune being able to hear them from afar thus causing the orange haired young man scratching his head and crosses his arms in utter embarrassment.
His teasing changes back to his usual stoic and serious demeanor. He then looks down at his palm and start to think of his decision of marrying Emy. "Juinchi, do you think it's a good time to let Emy know that I am ready to marry her?"
With a confused look and added curiosity, Juinchi tilts his head and turns his attention to his stern friend. "Yeah man, you pretty much look capable of being committed to staying with Emy with your whole life. You got a business, you and Emy basically live together, and right now I can tell you two are very so much in love." Juinchi's bright and cheerful behavior slowly glooms as he watches his friend look directly at his own hand. "Hey man you okay? You don't seem to be yourself having to go down like that?"
Kyto snapped back at himself while chuckling almost sounding like he's guilty of something. "Oh right...sorry, I kind of felt worried about what my life with Emy would be like over the years…" Juinchi could see his close friends hand shaking ever so ferociously thus giving concerned orange head a thought of his past, so he asks since it seems like the best time.
"It must have something to do with your life previous before we met right?" He toned down his question leaving a hint of vulnerability so that way he can be considerate and staying in line without crossing Kyto's boundaries, so it doesn't upset him. "I suppose you deserve to know what my life was when I was with my mother and…father." His slight pause before he could mention his father seem to trouble him more. Though having the guts to look past his internal pain he swallows it and looks away and explains. "My uhh.. life with my parents especially my father has been pretty bad. I was too stressed out as to how much my father subject himself to drinking and gambling as part of his life. That day, when I was getting ready for Christmas with my mother at that time. I got back from school and came home. Right before I was ready to put decorations on the Christmas tree I was met with my mom laying on the floor dead by the hands of my own father...once he saw me, he immediately came close to me and try to stick a knife towards my neck until I blacked out. Once I came to, I was at the hospital recovering from my traumatic experience. Having experienced what had just happened I should have disowned my father or even hate him to the point of hunting him down to avenge my mother…" Kyto now couldn't find the words to make sense to why he didn't do as he suggested to himself. "Yet deep down I still believe there is good in him."
"Wait what do you mean if he has any good in him?! He basically killed your mother and tried to kill you!" Confused and rightfully frustrated for how Kyto would defend his own father who committed murder from within. He was shushed by Kyto.
"Yes, I should have, the hatred for him was there but once I got older, I found out the truth. A truth you wouldn't understand...Juinchi..." He then looked at his own sword and sighs. "This conversation is getting on my nerves..."
"Kyto..." Though lost at thought of his life choices, Juinchi doesn't dare question his logic in handling his life once he now got a glimpse of what Kyto had went through in fact it's almost quite similar to his tragic loss too except the whole family member murdering their own thing, that was different. Juinchi sighs and took the television remote and turned on the television to watch some news to unload the obviously present gloominess within the entire living room. He changes a couple of channels to see if there's interesting to watch. That is when he reaches channel thirty-four of CAS Japanese News and instantly gained his undivided attention. The screen shows two news reports detailing the incident that has happened over Hagaguri Seafood and grill restaurant. Both Juinchi and Kyto watches on.
"Yes, this is Takashi speaking, we do have a report of two people found dead in an alley way behind the Hagaguri restaurant. The cause of their deaths is unknown. We go live to Reji Tsunomori to examine the case. Reji are you in?"
"Yes Takashi, the investigators are examining the location of the scene to search for clues and hard evidence related to this incident, many of our investigators speculate that the two couples are around their mid 30's. The two alleged couples are known as Kimino Huji and Aoki Tanashi."
"I see, any reports about their deaths Reji?" New's reporter Takashi asked.
"One of the investigators had come up with a theory to what is believed the most logical scenario. He stated that the couple may have had a violent history and eyewitness report said Aoki was looking into another beautiful woman while Kimino broke out and took him to the alley way about it. Once it got out of control Aoki grabbed her and chocked her to death thinking she was going to send him to the authorities and because he is a bulky man it was easy for him to take advantage on her and killed her silently without any signs of struggle. And once he realized he killed her, he then resorts to committing suicide by inhaling toxic fumes and chemicals that were thrown out from the restaurant.
Then Takashi countered that claim with photo evidence and explain it with what he can theorize. "Yes, but due to the picture taken. This proved otherwise, what you are about to see is graphic. We have a picture where Aoki actually has his arms around Kimino as she is tucked close to him in sheer security. There are no signs of hand marks on Kimino's neck and their bodies are completely wrinkled as if they died of old age. But the description of them tells they should be healthy adult, said by one of the witnesses who knew the two."
Juinchi became dead set on the news regarding the couples, something about this have caused Juinchi to lose his train of thought. He's getting quite upset at such a fate like that. "Two couples died horribly...just like my parents!" Juinchi thought completely torn for having to witness another loss. But right now, he needs to keep watching.
"Correct Takashi, whatever happened to them we will further inform you any connections to this horrible crime." The t.v. pans back to Takeshi as he's been given an immediate news report near Yominagi Prefecture.
"This just in, we have gotten eyewitness reports of a huge creature terrorizing the homes at Yominagi Prefecture just north of Hoshikage Main Streets. Right now, the police are trying to get whatever remaining survivors out of the location as humanly possible while other demons are trying to hold off this terrifying beast. Many casualties mainly the demons are continuing to increase in numbers as Tokyo Police are unable to fight off this unknown entity as it rampages further through the mountainous streets of Yominagi!"
After witnessing that latest news report Juinchi instantly got up as he puts on his new combat attire and proceed to go straight toward the known location. Just before he goes out the door Kyto stops him at his tracks. "Kyto, get out of my way." For once he made a serious demand towards Kyto. But the stern eyed swordsman asked why he wanted to go to such a dangerous area? It was clear to Kyto that Juinchi is attempting to stop the creature. Juinchi snarled but keeps it together and gave him a simple explanation. "That could very well be the same monster who killed my parents and took someone close to me!" Then he says his second point. "If we don't do anything, that thing would end up killing so many people! I can't just sit back and let things play out! What's more a friend of mine is there too!" Juinchi tries to keep this brief, so more time won't be wasted.
Though reluctant to Juinchi's sudden heroism, ultimately, he's right they can't just simply sit here as the chaos at Yominagi continues. "Fine, I'll start my car...be sure to check Hakune...before we go..."
Juinchi nodded as he slowly goes in his room to see Hakune laying on the bed who had fallen into a deep sleep thus signaling that she has worked her hardest today. Juinchi slowly bends over and gently kisses his lover's forehead and backs off without making any noise to wake her up. "I'll be back Hakune, I promise you that I'll be okay..."
Juinchi readies himself in his new attire that grants him freedom of movement from his arms for combat, sporting a non-sleeve jacket, a zipped-up combat black vest and dark cargo jeans to give him more mobility for his legs. As he sees himself out, the two boys are heading straight to the known location of the incident. It was clear that the destination is about 25 miles, once they are halfway there they could tell that most of the people are trying to get away from the area where most of the carnage occurred. Seeing that traffic is backed up because of the growing numbers of abandoned cars and lack of automotive movement Juinchi got out of Kyto's car and tries to go through the path on foot. But before he could advance, he tells Kyto to try and help out any nearby civilians who are in need to evacuate the area.
Kyto nodded. "Sure, I can do that but what are you going to do dude?" He looks on at his friend hoping he wouldn't do anything stupid and yet he was proven wrong when Juinchi stated his involvement. "I'm heading up there and confront the beast myself." He replied matter of factually.
"Are you crazy!? Its best that we get these people out of here and then handle whatever is terrorizing them together it would be our most logical option to handle things here!" Having to hear his convoluted plan he protests until Juinchi came up with his own reason and point that made all the more sense.
"Kyto, I was able to handle one at ease back at the beach remember?! A powerful Demi Elite...the only reason I was in bad shape was because it took Hakune hostage, and I had to submit to its whim!" He then starts illuminating pure blue energy around him as he unintentionally cast Spiritua. "It's pretty much clear this beast could be the monster that took away my family! And the same creature who could be searching for Hakune to end her! I'm going to stop it! No exceptions!" He turned to Kyto. "Besides, if any more time has been wasted without any intervention with that thing, then more people are going to die anyway!" And with that the brave orange head went off leaving the distraught Kyto behind.
Kyto yells at him cursing at his noticeable recklessness! "Juinchi come back damn it!" Feeling left behind, Kyto needed to help any traumatized citizens near him to get them to safety. "You better not die on me man, you're basically my best cook in my shop! And...my best friend…!"
Juinchi having went ahead for about a couple of miles. He continues see people running for their lives as they bypass him through sheer terror and fear. "If this is the same monster, I will finally get my change to avenge my family! So, whoever this is you better pray for forgiveness for what I'll do to you!" Juinchi thought readying himself for who he's going to face regardless.
Dashing through what looked like smashed cars and what's left of the demons who fought back on the streets of Hoshikage street Juinchi stopped at such a broken sight that unknown Demi creature created in its path. "All this damage and death…!" Then he came to realize the people running are mostly humans, the people he saw littered the ground are demons. "These people, though demons didn't even deserve to die like this!" He continues to travel on through the sea of dead demons covering the road ahead of him and then took a quick glimpse of a crawling demon trying to get away. Juinchi immediately goes to the crippled man and holds him by his shoulder. "You're going to be okay. I've got you." He places him on one of the car chairs. When the elderly demon took a glance at the fellow, he is shocked at what he's sensing.
"You're...a human...but yet I can feel something from you that resembles us as well..." The weakened demon civilian glances at Juinchi with shock. "How did all of this carnage happen?" Juinchi asks the injured demon regarding to all this death and destruction that happened on Yominagi Prefecture. "A huge monster with bulky armor...and some strange...markings around its body...and tubes shown on it's shell! Everyone here...has been attacked..by it...it attacked only us demons not the humans!...All I know from it is that it chanted saying that we deserve to die for our betrayal for embracing peaceful living and shunning our demonic heritage!"
"I see...is the monster still around?" Juinchi turned at the direction scanning through the surrounding area. Juinchi though in his thought hoped it was the damned beast that destroyed his life long ago, yet he still needed to stop the ongoing destruction done by this unknown beast. "It could be another Demi Elite that's searching for Hakune...It made an accurate guess since the majority of Yominagi's residence are demons." Juinchi thought as he set the injured old demon somewhere that the monster would find him.
"It...went off...further up the streets but I know it's still close...wait." The shocked elderly demon asked the obviously brave orange head. "What are you going to do?" No...you can't defeat it! We tried our best to defend ourselves with the best of our abilities, but it proved useless against his thick armor plating...What makes you think you can beat it?" The Demon rightly questions Juinchi for his lack of understanding to this hopeless scenario. "You may be brave but you're foolish if you think you can fight that monstrosity! I beg you don't lose your life trying to stop that thing!" The elderly demon raises his arms at the young man wanting to keep him away from the horrors he's walking into.
Despite the warning and obvious plea to not get involved by this obviously wise demon Juinchi heeded his words and yet continues to walk further away as he thanked him. "So, this creature relies of heavy armor for protection...thanks for the heads up." He also stated his experience. "I have fought one of those things before...and yes I don't know what this may be compared to the one I've defeated, but I must try..."
"You can't..." As the demon extends his hand to reach Juinchi he slips out of his conscious. Juinchi turned his back once more to the worried old man. "Rest easy sir, someone will be here to take you to a safer place. I'll take care of this…" And with that Juinchi dashes off to find the monster responsible for the massacre.
As soon as he can feel the road shaking Juinchi stopped, there's no doubt this thing is close by. Now walking along the path of endless carnage of badly injured demons as well as some dead. A couple of meters away he hears a little girl screaming along with a grotesque roar from ahead of him as he rushes in before things gets worse from here. To his surprise he met face to face with the monster.
It is about 10 feet tall and seem to weigh over a 1,000 plus pounds given his width, the creature looked a lot like Raizen except he wears a darkish blue armor plating around his torso and hind legs that are bulky like a turtle with 4 long curved upper spikes on his back and menacing eyes that even a normal human would die from its glance. More importantly it has a hard metal looking shell behind its back resembling a tortoise-esque look to it. Suddenly Juinchi turned his full attention on mother struggling to get away from the monster as she pleads to stop attacking. Juinchi realizes that the mother is actually the friend he'd come to warn, Kumi. He also sees a helpless girl inside the minivan, Sara is stuck in it as the Demi creature continues to torment her by shaking the van. Suddenly out of the blue Juinchi immediately steps in beside the monster and taps his shiny arm to get his attention.
"Huh?!" Unaware of who did that, the turtle like creature turned his head towards the location where his arm was tapped. Out of nowhere Juinchi jumps and does a spin kick right at the monster's face pushing the tortoise-like Demi back as Juinchi successfully got Sara out of the van while using his other arm to get Kumi to a safe distance away from the Turtle Demi. To the shock of Kumi she ended up seeing a familiar face who she grew to miss over the past year.
"Juinchi!? You!?….You came back!" She came close to him giving the orange head a huge hug. "Oh my god...You saved us!" But Juinchi doesn't reciprocate as he places his hands on her shoulders pushing her away a little. Before he could tell Kumi and Sara to get out of here Sara suddenly went to Juinchi and gave him a tightening hug.
"Oji-San!" Sara hugged Juinchi tightly while sobbing due to how frighten she was from the attack of that Demi creature. "I was scared!" And then she turned her cute eyes on the person who took care of her and Kumi. "I thought I'd never see you!"
Juinchi made a genuine smile turn to the Demi monster. "I know Sara I'm here now, I'm just glad you two are okay. Now get out of here and let me handle that thing."
"But you ca-" Kumi close to arguing until she got cut off from the firm demand from Juinchi.
"Get out of here right now!" With that assertive order Kumi and Sara cleared out of Juinchi's way as he then starts walking towards the still disoriented Demi creature.
"ARRGHHHHHH! What was that for! You insolent maggot!" He roared in a predictably violent manner as he extends his massive claws trying to scare off the tiny nuisance using one of his intimidations to scare off the pesky human.
Juinchi scoffs as he faced the monster with an unimpressed look from that weird intimidation display from this big Demi. "What do you think? Why don't you pick on someone who knows how to fight? And besides I don't appreciate you picking on the weak and any of the helpless innocent demons trying to make a living here on earth."
The Demi Monster widens his eyes from such a foolishly stupid claim by a mere human. "Why you arrogant fool! I am the MIGHTY DEMORA one of the all powerful Demi Elites and I will rain down pain and suffering upon any demon for what they did to me! And those who oppose me and gets in my way will be crushed! No one has ever beaten me, so you human will be nothing more than a simple ant under my feat!"
"Heh...you talk too much, bring it on if you think you have what it takes! This is for all who had been slain by your hands and the people you scarred from your chaotic rampage! I'll deal with you in their place!" Juinchi goes into his fighting stance readying himself for a battle against another Demi Elite.
"You shall pay for that last attack feeble human!...RARRRGHHHH!" Demora cries out a battle cry and charges right at Juinchi.
