I originally wanted to do something longer but I felt you guys deserved an upload. So enjoy this quick fluff 💕
𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 ➪ 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘆
"Mwah Bye Lucas I love you," I say kissing him on his forehead before he waits for walks into his school further. "Bye mommy. love you too," he says as he giggles walking inside the building. I then walk away and back to the cab. So far things are running smoothly. Luke is at school on time and I am heading for my first day at work.
Presently I am I just entered the 7th floor at 8:55 five minutes before my shifts start. I open the door to his office, "Good morning Natsu" I say seeing him sitting down at his office in focus mode. He looks up, "Luce Morning! How are you doing?" he says. "I'm good Natsu...You?" I ask as I take the IPad from my purse pulling it out. "Yeah, I'm okay. Just been here early to get an early start. And as for the little one?," he says simply. "We have today actually I was gonna ask if you'd like to come. I placed it at a time where you didn't have no meetings or anything urgent...So if you do want to," he chuckles cutting me off. "Of course I do. Thank you for taking what I want into consideration, " there was an awkward pause where we just looked at each other.
"Alright..Well it's 9:00 so my work shift has officially started no more baby talk," I say nodding my head. "Yes ma'am," he say chuckling. "Well you have your first business meeting in an hour. So make I'll go and make sure you have all your files and documents printed. While taking some phone calls. Does that sound good?" I ask he nods. "Yes it's great also mind ordering me some breakfast," I shake my head yes. "Also you see that room over there," he says pointing at a closed door that was connected to his office. "That's where you work at when we are not on the go. When we are you use the iPad, " he explains.
I walk over to the door opening it and seeing a plain white room with a glass desk and chair, the computer on it with headsets, and a printer. If I work here long this will definitely need something remolding... I sit down on the chair and start printing out some of the documents he needs for his meetings. Then I ordered his breakfast and took some phone calls. Overall pretty boring office stuff. About 30 minutes later Natsu walks in. "Oi Luce. I was wondering if you were hungry I could give you some food," I shake my head no. "It's not my lunch..." I say of course I am hungry starving. But I don't want to be treated differently than the other employees.
"Ah Luce you don't have to worry about that... You're pregnant. You need to eat whenever you're hungry," he says smiling. "Natsu im fine I'm not even that hungry enjoy your food yourself," he sighs scratching the back of his head. "If you say so Lucy but whenever you're hungry just order something, " I nod yes as he leaves and continue on with working.
When the time came Natsu and I headed outside to drive up to his meeting. The business world is pretty new to me. A sound goes throughout the car as my feet hit the ground quickly. "Oi, you nervous?" Natsu says as he smiles looking towards me. "...Y-Yeah just a little bit, " I say as I stutter a bit. "Don't be. I'm sure it'll be fine." He says as he looks back up. When we first met he was always a great person and I like to think that I left a great impression on him. But I wonder why he hired me. My resume is good but there are way more qualified people than little old me.
"Hey, Natsu I have a question. Why exactly did you hire me on the spot like that?" I ask. He chuckles softly, "That night at the bar you immediately caught my attention. I had to know who the girl with the golden blonde and chocolate brown eyes was..." I look at him, "So you hired me because I'm attractive?" I ask a bit disappointed. "Luce you didn't let me finish. But when I spoke with you and we talked for almost the whole night...I don't usually do that.." He frowns softly.
I look at him my eyebrows raising. "Especially because at that time I had broken up with my ex-girlfriend. So usually I j- "Just screw them and leave?" I couldn't help but judge slightly. "So I was a rebound ?" I say softly. "Yes...technically but no. You were different. I actually could speak with you and never get bored...You just seem so extraordinary, " I look down a small smile on my face. "And you definitely showed me how extraordinary you were that night, " I choke on my spit as my cheeks, like a spring rose, are unexpectedly painted in pink, the blooming hue so cute against a playful smirk that I throw at him. I lightly punch his shoulder.
He chuckles at my obvious embarrassment, "All jokes aside when I saw you again...Which I actually hope I would've. I know I needed that extraordinariness on my team, " He says as looks at me. I nibble my lip gently the hair on my back standing up as his onyx eyes look into mine. "It certainly was a night to remember huh?" he says as he grins. "Y-Yeah.." I breathe out. The car abruptly stops snapping us both out of the gaze. "Sir Natsu you're here, " The driver says.
We get out the back of the car and walk to this huge building. As we are walking I smell beignets. I immediately whipped my head towards the shop that was across the street. I sigh as I walk behind Natsu continuing on. We walk up to the elevator and went to floor 50. I swear it made my head hurt being on the elevator for that long.
We then went to the office in which the meeting would be held. Natsu sat at the table while I sat on the sidelines next to him. I know that in these meetings it is important to only speak when spoken to. is a company that specializes in technology. This meeting is to discuss how they're gonna market their new products coming out. Throughout the whole meeting, I took notes and answered any questions Natsu asked me regarding his schedule and stuff.
Once the meeting ended everyone mainly stood back and had drinks. Kinda like a formal after-party. As Natsu socialized with his peers I mainly just stood sitting down organizing my notes. Until I hear my name being called, "Oi Luce come here for a second, " I hear Natsu call out to me. I sigh softly getting up. I only really have two friends so talking and stuff makes me nervous. I stand behind him kind of having him protect me in a sense as I felt a bit uncomfortable.
"This is Lucy, my new assistant, " He says to the man and woman who stood in front of me. "I'm Gray Fullbuster and this is my wife Juvia, " He says as he shakes hands with me. My hands then move to Juvia. "It's nice to meet you.." Juvia says as she swoops in for a hug. I giggle awkwardly as I smile at her nodding. I notice Natsu and Gray begin engaging in their conversation or argument? I don't even know. So I felt obligated to talk with her. "So how is it being a female in the industry? I've never been really into the business field, " I ask.
"My experiences have been great but I'm just one of the lucky women who got into a great business team. People respect me and it means a lot to not be set back by my gender and to be surrounded by great people. Especially because I'm bringing a baby into this world so I want to show them that their mommy is a go-getter, " I smile as I look down at her stomach. "You're expecting congratulations. First kid?" I ask. I could tell that she is pregnant but as being pregnant in the past I know how it feels to have that be the first thing asked it can get kinda repetitive.
"Yep, it's my first child due in April. 7 more months to go. Very excited, " Juvia says as she smiles. "Having a baby is a beautiful hard thing to do girl trust me," I say as I giggle. "I just know me and Gray will be great parents, " Shes says as she looks at her ring on her hand. "I have a question if you don't mind me asking how is it working with Gray while being pregnant?" I ask. At this point, the guys had gone to the other side of the room so I could now ask this. "It's interesting. He worries a lot and wants to go to the hospital for every little thing. Honestly, I take advantage of it to eat during work hours and take naps and stuff. There will never be an experience like this so I want to make the most of it," Juvia says as she smiles.
"Thanks that really helps. I also pregnant. But I'm only like a month and a week or so along," I say as I giggle awkwardly. "I knew it. You just have the pregnancy glow, " I smile softly at her compliment. "Aw thank you. You are the first person I told aside from Natsu we'll I mean I had to tell him he is my baby's d- "Natsu is one who got you pregnant?!" Juvia says. "Oh God I probably shouldn't have said anything without asking but yes...He is my baby's dad. But don't get me wrong I didn't get the job because of that. I got it before we knew, " I said worriedly.
"I'm not shocked because of that. I just expected him to have a baby with- "his ex-girlfriend?" I say as I laugh. "Life works in crazy ways huh? It's definitely for the better. They needed to let go of each other, " Juvia says. "Oi Lucy were heading out. C'mon," I hear Natsu call out to me. "Well I have to go it was nice speaking to you. Maybe we can catch up another time?" I ask. "Yeah sure. I'll tell Natsu to pass me your number." I nod and walk with Natsu outside of the place.
"Well you don't have no more meetings. What are you in a rush for?" He looks at me and smiles which sends shivers down my back. " I got a surprise in the car," he says as he pulls my arm gently making me walk faster. "Uh.." I say. When we get to the car I see a box and I immediately recognize the box packaging. "You got me Beignets!" I say as I smile brightly. "I told my driver to stop by and get you some. I saw you looking at them. "Thank you driver!" I say as I hold the bag on my lap. "It's fine Luce you don't have to wait until your lunch. Just eat if you are hungry," I sigh softly.
"Fine. Only if you have some with me."
