𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 ︎𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
When we had gotten back to the office Natsu and I had just sorted through some papers together. And went through and handful of business calls that he need to respond to. "You're lucky Luce. Your first day wasn't a busy one," he says leaning back in his chair. I nod, "Yeah I guess I am. Should I be worried for those busy days?" I say raising an eyebrow. By now it was about 5. The time my shift comes to a close. "I don't want to scare you off...But those days can get a little hectic" he says as he closes his eyes taking a deep breath. "It almost feels like I didn't do enough today."
I smile softly. I have to admit working with Natsu is helping understand what kind of man he is since I didn't get to learn that much about him before having... uh you know. "I think you did great today Natsu. Don't sweat it," I say as I sigh.. "Well the appointment is at 6:30. Want to head out?" I ask getting up placing my IPad into the purse and my other belongings. "Yeah let's go. My driver should be out front." He says walking along side me downstairs. When we get to the car we mainly sit in awkward silence. This is a new experience for him so I wasn't sure what was running through his mind. And sure this isn't my first rodeo but... it's my first time doing this with someone. It's weird how nice he is about the baby because I've never seen it before.
Around were a lot of women who are also pregnant. Some a lot more far along than me, and I attempt to interpret Natsu's expression. However, I was unable to do so. It was completely empty. Maybe he was thinking about backing out? Maybe he no longer wants to be a part of this? Seeing him look blankly flooded my mind with a slew of thoughts. I sigh and turn my head back. An unpleasant sensation is coursing through my body, and I'm beginning to lose my sense of color in my face. Another pregnancy alone ? This pregnancy was supposed to be different. When I felt a gentle hand on my lap, I turned over to face Natsu. As soon as I saw him glance at me, all of my doubts began to fade. His eyes were not the same as Lucas's father's. They were genuine and soft. I'm not sure why I was doubting him.
When he leans he gently whispers in my ear, "We are in this together.." I feel tears swell up in my eyes. This pregnancy is bringing up a lot of buried emotions from the last one. That was all I wanted to here. I gently wrap my arms around him embracing him. " I know that I could do this again. That I'm strong enough to do so. But there was still part of me that wanted different for this baby. And I'm so glad that you're willing to take part in that" I whisper softly tears gently falling down my face. "Hey Luce...Don't cry..." Natsu says as he rubs my back softly. Most likely confused. I giggle softly as I look up at him removing my hands around his neck to wipe away my tears, "I'm sorry Natsu. It just makes me really happy.." I say as I smile. He smiles back about to say something but we are interrupted by someone calling out my name, "Lucy...Lucy Heartfillia..."
We both stand up and head into the room the nurses. Throughout our time there they look a lot of test and asked a lot of personal questions to both me and Natsu. And explained a lot of things to us. Natsu asked a lot of questions and I really liked that. We were there for about 2 hours before the appointment was finally over. And afterwards Natsu insisted on going out to eat.
We sit down at this restaurant where I've never even been to before. "This is my favorite restaurant. I only really take important people here," he says as we take a seat at the reserved vip section. "Well it's nice to be apart of that special group," I say smiling. "Oi Luce I was wondering...Well..." he pauses almost as if he were nervous. "Yes Natsu? What happen?" I asks softly. "Well I'm hosting a get together at my house and I was wondering whether you'd like to go? It really mean a lot to have you there.." he mumbles. "I'm not really good at parties though...And what about Luke.." I say pausing. "You could bring Luke too. And I'll be there with you guys so..but I mean if you're uncomfortable..." he says as he sighs. "Ok Natsu I'll go I promise.." I say. A grin immediately appears on his face. "Great!"
