I sigh softly as I gently close the door to the apartment. I had left Lucas with Aquarius a friend of my mom's before she passed. He considers her to be his 'Gamma.' Which I think is just so cute. I rarely ever leave Lucas at home so walking out of that apartment was hard for me. I felt almost guilty leaving him at her house just to go to a party. I let out a sigh as I began to walk outside as my cab was waiting for me. I'm only going because I already had promised Natsu...And also because Levy and Gajeel promised they will be there. The party had started almost an hour ago so I'm sure not many people will be there. As people tends to go to parties late.
When I arrive, there are a bunch of individuals. This is the first time I've been to a party like this in years. So the introvert in me simply wanted to walk out, but I couldn't because we locked eyes as soon as we stepped in. As he walks towards me, he smiles, and I can't help but smile back. "Hello, Luce. He places his hand on my stomach and rubs it gently. "You look stunning," he says. "Natsu, there are people around..." I say softly. I keep my voice low. He nods and lowers his hand. He mumbles, "I'm sorry." "Anyhow. Thank you very much, Natsu" I say taking in account his complement. Wearing a v-neck satin black dress with a slit starting high on my thigh with some block heels, I say, "I might as well dress up now before the stomach comes in."
"Regarding the baby," he chuckles, "I just want you to be at ease. So, unless you give me permission, I won't share any of the news, okay?" I slowly nod, biting the inside of my bottom lip a little. "Y-Yeah... I actually kind of told Juvia I think that's her name . I was going to say it, but it completely slipped my mind..." "I say nervously," I say. "Alright, that's fantastic, knowing Juvia, would have told Gray. He smiles as he replies, "I have someone to talk to about the news." I softly drop my sight. It's bizarre. How can someone be so perfect? It's just...something different from what I'm used to. "Luce...You ok? It's like you got into a trance or something." Pulling me away from my thoughts, he says.
"Nothing. Anyway Natsu this is your party you should be courting other people as well. Go on. I'll find something to eat," I say as I smile gently patting his shoulder as I slide past him. "Okay Luce. I'll go make my way to you later," he says. I nod softly as I continue going on my way. I know that Levy and Gajeel are somewhere in this bi- "Lu!" I hear as I feel small arms wraps around me in an embrace from behind. Immediately recognizing it to be my best friend since forever. "Hey Levy. I felt like it's been forever," I say softly as she lets go letting me hug her properly. I see a tall figure follow behind her which I immediately see it to be Gajeel. "Hey Gajeel!" I waving at him. "Hey Bunny girl" I scoff at the nickname. We all walk over to the corner to get some privacy. "So..." Levy starts as she points at the stomach.
"Yep...It's true. I'm pregnant...Again.." I say softly. "How was Natsu's reaction to the news?" Levy asks. "It was...Um..." I stop unable to find the words. "Do you need me to handle him bunny girl?" Gajeel asks as pulls his sleeves up. I smile at his gesture, "no...no it wasn't nothing bad. But that's the problem...It was good. He was really nice.." I say unsure of myself. I didn't know how to explain exactly how it was a problem. "It's not something you're used to hm Lu? You've never had a male figure be...Kind to you like that. So I guess it could be weird I guess..." Levy says picking up the words for me. "Yeah...Yeah. Like that. And if they were nice...It is because they wanted something from me. So it's hard," I say softly. It's so nice being able to let this all out to a person who understands me before I even have to say anything.
"Well Gajeel you know Natsu. Is he a good guy?" Levy says as she turns to face him. My eyes look up at Gajeel and he looks at the both of us. "Yeah he is a good guy. He'll be a great father...I just wish it was too someone else," Gajeel says resulting in a smile from both myself and Levy Gajeel and I have always had a brother-sister relationship when we first met. Apart from my son, he is the only guy in my life. He's a wonderful person, and I'm glad Levy is with someone like him. "So he's , isn't he?" I mumble. Gajeel pauses and continues, "Well, he's very annoying..." "But then again, Gajeel thinks everyone is irritating, so..." Levy continues, rolling her eyes. "I suppose that's correct. But, aside from the fact that he's unpleasant, there's one thing about him that I don't like..." He takes a breather since the air in the room has suddenly thickened. It was almost as if a wave of disbelief washed over everyone.
"Jesus...What happened the mood of the room has changed tremendously..." Levy says trying to tippy toe up to see within the crowd. I join in trying to find what's causing this. "This...This right here is the part I don't like about Natsu...This is the only reason why I wish it could've been someone else..." Gajeel says as he sighs. As I try to figure out what Gajeel is talking about, a sensation of unease develops in my gut. Suddenly a beautiful woman with short white hair floats through the crowd. "Who is she ?" Levy asks. "That's Natsu's ex...Lisanna," Gajeel says. For some reason she walks right to us.
"Hello Gajeel. Who are your lady friends.." She says to him as she smiles softly. Her smile so beautiful it could light up a whole room. I don't see what's the big deal with everyone...Why are they acting so weird about her. She seems nice. "This is Levy. My wife. And this is Lucy who is our friend who often happens to be Natsu's assistant. It's nice to see you Lis it's been awhile since graduation. Didn't know you were still clinging onto Natsu.." Gajeel says. I look at Gajeel shocked...That was a little mean. "Yeah well you know. We're high school sweethearts. It's hard to let go of something like that. It's nice to meet you Levy and you too Lucy. Im going to find Natsu now.." Lisanna says as she walks away from us.
"Gajeel what was that about that was rude," Levy says as she punches him in his arms. Her small fist not even moving him. "Good luck Lucy. A rich baby father with an obsessive ex..." Gajeel says. "She actually seems nice. I don't think it will be that bad," I say shrugging. "Well you just haven't seen them together...It's probably the most toxic thing you could see ever..." Gajeel says. "Um Gajeel...Are you forgetting who you're talking too? Toxic ex boyfriend, toxic family, toxic friends...I been through it all. This can't be that bad," I say shrugging. "Exactly you been through it already. You don't need it again." He says. "I appreciate your concern but Natsu already says he won't allow her around the baby when he or she comes because I asked him too. But now this could be my chance to get to know her and maybe that'll change.."
"You're too nice.."
"And you're thinking to negatively Gajeel..."
"I guess we will see how this all pans out within the next couple month hm? Now let's drop the subject and talk about something more lighthearted" Levy says intervening. We both nod our head and go on to talk about other stuff. Like how's their house going and stuff. Adult stuff you know? After a while my stomach began to hurt. "hey I think I'm getting a little nauseous. I'll be back.." I say as I turn to find the bathroom. I remember the way to the bathroom because that's where I peed on the pregnancy test that I took like a week or 2 ago. When I get to the bathroom I hear bickering.
"It's obvious that you don't miss me like how I miss you. I see you have that new assistant. Isn't she a looker I bet you're sleeping around with her" the kind gentle voice I had heard earlier from this woman had suddenly turned harsh and catty. "We're not even together anymore and you're still accusing me of cheating. Lis get a grip. Who I choose to be involved with is none of your concern!" I hear Natsu yell back. I didn't mean to ease drop or anything but they bathroom door is cracked open and I kinda really need to go. But I also don't want to get involved in that. I've already experienced enough of ...That. "So you are involved with her ? I knew it. You just can't keep your dick in your pants huh?" She yells. "Whatever Lis. I slept with her and now she's having my baby something you'll never have," My eyes widen as hear him stomp to the door open it and our eyes immediately meet. His onyx eyes that were furious melted when he saw mine.
"What the actual fuck Natsu. Did you seriously just use my pregnancy as a one- up in your fight with your girlfriend," I say as my face scrunches up. "Lucy I- I..." I walk away. What the fuck was that. That was so disrespectful...Beyond it. As I leave I past Gajeel and Levy, "Hey sorry to dash on you guys but I'm heading home. Baby is making me feel sick," I say half lying they nod and wish me a safe trip home. When I get out to the front all the Nausea I've been holding in suddenly comes out. This makes me feel so much worse as I'm sitting there upset and puking. This night was horrible I'm never leaving my son again.
