𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 ➪ 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
It's an early Saturday morning. And I looked a total mess from the evening before. The night had gone horrible. I had mascara streaming down my face. Last night just went so wrong that I ended up rushing out of the party to go and see my son because that's only time when I feel at ease. Right now I'm currently at Aquarius's house laying with Lucas on the spare bed. "Lucy..." I hear from outside of the bedroom. I get up carefully trying not to awake Lucas. I open the door softly and steps out to see Aquarius. "You look horrible.." She says causing me to giggle. "I know. But thank you for reminding me Aquarius." I say as we both take a seat at the dining room table. "Not that I care...But you are ok?" She asks causing me to smile.
Aquarius has known me since I was born. Practically a second mother. She's the one who tracked me down when I ran away from home at 16. She's always been there to slap me up but also let me make my own choices. Like she never forced me back home or anything. Even though she acts like she doesn't care...I know somewhere deep down in her heart she loves me. "I'm okay Aquarius. I'm just extra emotional. I'm..." I pause my nerves creep up to on me as like it did 4 years ago when I told her about me being pregnant with Lucas. "I'm pregnant. Again," I say as I sigh. She leans back in her chair and sighs, "Another brat for me to deal with huh? You already know Luke is a handful just like his mother is," I smile and nod. "Layla would've loved him. And she would've love the little one in your stomach too."
Catching up with Aquarius is always good. Especially because I don't see her often. Despite the fact that her whole reason for moving to Magnolia was for me. We both live pretty busy lives. However as soon as Lucas woke up she kicked us out. "Scorpio is on his way. And you know what that means.." She says as she winks at me. "Ew..." I say as i look at her disgusted. "Bye Gamma.. Maybe we can play cars again when I come back" Lucas says as he hugs her legs. She pats his head, "Bye little Brat..And don't go around saying all that nonsense.." she says as she rolls her eyes. Same old Aquarius hm.
We walk home because it wasn't too bad of a walk. And I can't be paying for cabs all the time. "So mommy how was it?" Luke asks. "Uh well it was interesting baby. I would've much rather spent the night watching movies with you," I say honestly. "Wasn't Aunty Levy and Gajeel there? They didn't make it fun?" He asks as he holds my hand as we cross the streets. "Yeah they were there. But they wasn't with me the whole time. So when they were gone I was...Bored," I say trying to explain it so that I don't give away everything. "Oh okay I see. Does that mean they're coming over today?" I smile and nod to him. "Yay! Great!" For the rest of the walk we just talked and eventually we got home. When we got there I basically gave the both of us a shower and cleaned the whole house getting ready for Levy and Gajeel game night and cooked of course.
By the time I'm done it's around 8' o'clock. I hear a knock on the door and I open it expecting it to be Levy and Gajeel. But it's not. It's him. "Luce I think we should talk no? About last night..." I stand at the door and stare at him blankly. He's holding a Bouquet of beautiful white and red roses. "I-I um sure.." I say I say as I open the door inviting him into my place. "I'm sorry...I'm sure it's smaller than what you're used to.." I say as I lead him to the couch. "No I like your place. It looks comfortable and homey. Where's Luke?" He asks. "He's playing cars in his room.." I say softly taking a seat with him on the couch. "Well these are for you. Take these as a token of my apology to you because of the events of last night. " he says as he hands them to me. "Thank you they're gorgeous. But you really shouldn't have. I would rather us just...Communicate," I say as I take them and lay them gently on my lap.
"Ok...Communicate. Can you start...?" Natsu says nervously. I smile softly. I guess Gajeel was right. Their relationship was very toxic because I remember being the same way when after Lucas's father's death. That's the very thing that kept me single these past 4 years. Communicating and explaining how you feel is always hard for someone who gets into argument every time they do. "Well I'm not good at this either. But...I felt very um...Disrespected and disregarded by the events of yesterday. When you and your ex girlfriend was arguing I didn't like how you used me and my pregnancy as a 'one up' on her. That wasn't right. Especially blurting out the news to someone I didn't know when you said you would wait until I was ready.." I says sighing. "You are right. I never intended to make you feel like that. And at the time all I wanted to do was make her feel bad. And the fact that I used the pregnancy to do that...It's horrible and I'm sorry for that.." he says and I nod.
"Ok...Um well thank you and I accept the apology. Now Natsu...I don't really care for what you do in your life. But to be very honest with you...I want to bring this baby out to a world of love. So in these 7 or so months I want you to get it together. Figure out what you want do about your relationship and everything else. Because when the baby comes it's gonna be all about them. And I don't want you figuring out while baby is here..." I say seriously. I never thought co-parenting would begin even before the baby got here. It's so different compared to when I had Luke. I didn't have to worry about no one else bullshit except my own...It's scary. He puts his hand over mine to stop them from fidgeting which I didn't even notice. "Lucy you're right. I understand. I hope this isn't making you scared because I'm promise that no situation like the one that went on last night would happen again. Right now you and this baby is the most important thing to me. I promise you that..." I gently bite my lip and nod. "Okay Natsu. You better stand on those words.."
Levy and Gajeel arrived later. Natsu was even allowed to stay for game night. We played monopoly, chess, uno, and everything else together. It was fascinating to watch Natsu and Luke interact, and being in a group situation was something I hadn't done in a long time. I hadn't laughed like that in was wonderful. But as 1 o'clock came we all became quite tired. Lucas had even fallen asleep on my lap. "Alright guys. I think we should call it a night," I say softly. "It's seems like Luke already got the memo," Levy says as she giggles. "Leave my poor baby alone. He was tired," I say jokingly as I run his finger through his hair. " You guys already know what to do. Just pull out the couch...Natsu it's pretty late. You can stay if you'd like?" I say as I look at him. "I don't want to be a bother..." He says. "You're not. Come on...Goodnight you two," I say as I stand up carrying Luke in my hand. "Goodnight guys.." I say as Natsu follows me.
I snuggle Luke in and place him in his bed. I give him a kiss on the cheek and switch on his nightlight in case he wakes up in the middle of the night. "Alright, we're good to go," I murmur as I and Natsu tiptoe out of his room. I say, "Jesus, I'm tired," as I enter my room. "I'm in the same boat. Tomorrow I have a lot of meetings stacked on top of each other. That's going to be a lot of fun "Natsu explains. "Oh I'm sorry. If I knew you had work tomorrow, I wouldn't have kept you here." "I say," I say. "No..No it's fine. I had a good time. Thank you so much, Luce." He says this while smiling at me. Natsu just stands there awkwardly while I go into bed. "You know, Natsu, you can get into the bed..." I say. I shoot him a teasing glance as I continue, "You act like we've never been in bed together..." He smiles and settles down next to me, saying, "Those...Those circumstances were different." After an hour or so of us talking we both end up falling asleep.
At about 4 in the morning I wake up to use the bathroom. I notice Natsu is gone. He probably left for work. As I'm on my to leave the bathroom I hear a giggle coming from Lucas's room. I slowly walk to the door a peak in just slightly. I see Natsu holding a book while Luke is laying next to him. "Jeez Natsu. You suck at reading. You have to put more emotion into it!" Lucas says trying to coach him. "Hey little man I'm trying my best here..." Natsu goes on reading. He really does suck at reading which almost makes me giggle. I feel a flutter in my stomach as I watch the two. Is this is what girls refer to when they say that their ovaries are exploding. It just brought an overwhelming feeling of happiness to me. "Hey what are you guys doing awake ," I whisper as I step in quietly. Trying not to wake up Gajeel and Levy who are in the living room.
"Oh hi mommy! I had a nightmare and Natsu came to comfort me. Come join us. And show Natsu how to read!" I smile softly as I walk over to them. I lay in between them Lucas snuggles up to me laying on my chest while I lay my head on Natsu's. I begin reading the story just like how my mom would read to me when I was a kid. Using my voice to paint the words in his mind. And within 5 minutes of reading my baby had fallen asleep. "Wow are you serious. I been reading to him for an hour and he didn't even seem tired," Natsu whispers in my ear. "You simply just don't have the magical touch like I do," I say playfully as i look at him. We just stayed there for a while. In his arms, Luke and I. we all had fallen asleep.
The next morning I had woken up at 12. Natsu of course had already left for work. I get up and the first thing I do is brush my teeth and start on breakfast. Levy and Gajeel were snuggled up watching a show on the couch as I cooked for everyone. "What are you making Lu?" She asks as she looks at me. "Oatmeal and bacon along with some fruits and stuff. You know," I say as I continue to cook. I made some for Natsu as well as I had plan to surprise him at work as a thanks for last night. Once I'm finished with everything I pack up Natsu's food and make him a cup of coffee. "Alright guys. I'm going to head out for thirty minutes or so. Do you mind ?" I ask. Levy intervenes, "Of course we don't. Go on. I know the drill. Wake him up soon so he can sleep well in the night..blah blah blah. We got this Lu go on," She says causing me to giggle. "Thanks guys. Bye!"
I walk out and call a cab to drop me off to work. I open up my phone to go in and check Natsu's schedule. I have access to it since I'm his assistant. I do this so I don't interrupt his work. When I get there I wait in his office for a bit since he has a meeting. When he finally does come. He opens the door shocked to see me. "Luce? What are you doing here? Is everything ok?" He asks concern. I smile, "Yes Natsu everything is fine. I just brought you breakfast..." I say as I pass him the bag and the cup of coffee. "Luce you didn't have too.." he says as he smiles taking the bag. "I wanted to as a thanks for last night. I know your tired so it's the least I could do. I know you have another meeting in 10 minutes so I'm gonna leave you to eat," I say softly as I begin to walk out. "Wait..." he says as he walks to me and wraps his arms around me gently.I wrap my arms around his neck letting them lay gently on his nape. "Thanks Luce," He mumbles. "No thank you," I say as I plant a gentle friendly kiss on his cheek.
