Stage: Peach's Castle
Fighters: Mario, Link, Kirby, Pikachu
Rules: Free-for-all, 3 minutes, all items
Up until now, Mario had been prepared for everything. He found himself on a weird arena above his world. He had been fighting against a swordsman, a pink puffball, and an electric mouse for no apparent reason. But nothing could prepare him for what he was going to face at that moment. Above him, falling…
…was a baseball bat.
Mario just couldn't believe what his eyes were seeing; how can a baseball bat fall out of nowhere?! Kirby then picked up the bat, and went straight to Mario. He was readying his attack when Mario jumped up to the wooden platform of the railroad, just as Link slashed with his sword forward. With Link in Mario's position, the plumber could witness the destructive effects of the innocent-looking bat from above. Link was knocked away in one hit.
Mario thought to himself, " I'd better be careful about-a that bat-a". Luckily for him, there was a laser sword floating above. Mario grabbed the sword and slashed through to his heart's content. Kirby felt angered by his inability to counterattack the sword's long-range slashes. Both of them were too distracted to notice a certain yellow mouse charging up an attack. A loud "Pika!" echoed through the arena, as a giant thunderbolt fell and threw Kirby away. Mario recovered in the air, falling down to face his next opponent.
Pikachu's fighting style was far different from the rest. He relied on speed, jumping and kicking Mario at every chance it had. One time, Mario was standing on the moving stone slob when Pikachu kicked him away, and he jumped in the air hoping to get back on land.
The stone had moved to the other side…and he fell to another knockout.
Up until now, Kirby had the highest KO count, mostly because of him bullying Pikachu (and then Link), which Mario slightly disapproved of. He wanted a chance to get full revenge on the pinball, when out of the sky, another item fell.
It was a hammer. A black, medium size hammer.
Mario looked at the hammer, and smiled sadistically.
After grabbing his long-lost old friend, he began to hum that tune which he had thought of during his barrel-smashing, animal-abusing times. He wasn't exactly fond of that part of his life, but he loved that hammer. He ran to Kirby, hammer in hand, smashing air until the hammer met Kirby's face. Mario laughed a bit as he watched the bullying pink ball fly away. Then, like Kirby was doing before, he waited for him to recover, only to pick on him again. He looked back at Link and Pikachu and gave them a small wink. Both of them were creeped out by that. Then, the hammer's time ran out, much to Mario's disappointment.
"5…4…3…2…1…TIME!"
The fight was over. Mario let out a sigh of relief, but then was surprised again by the fact that both Link and Pikachu vanished. The voice once again spoke, "Oh, looks like Mario and Kirby have the same number of KOs! This calls for a.."
Mario, innocently, said: "For a tie?" to which the voice replied:
"…FOR A SUDDEN DEATH!"
"GO!"
