Chapter 3: Elise Avalon
Elise was stunned after what Daniel said to her, she then quickly snapped out of her dazed state as she noticed people are staring at her. 'Curse me for being popular!' she mentally stated, she actually hated it when people stare at her when she did something embarrassing or something "not fitting for an Avalon" or any other scenarios similar to current one she's in. as she walked to her first class she thought back to her conversation with Daniel. 'Listen you don't have to go out your way to insult me or degrade me I'm used to it.. and non of what you say affects me in anyway shape or form.' This words rang in her mind and she actually felt bad for treating him like shit ever since the day they met. her head is contemplating weather she should apologize or not, not mainly due to her Avalon pride and ego. She couldn't focus on her class due to her situation and honestly she hates it it's stressing her out. Every time she sees Daniel the she feels worst or also she feels something she's not very familiar of. It was their period before lunch and he saw Daniel on the seat at the very back of the class (his usual spot) fidgeting with his pen until it was sent flying through the open window Daniel she could read Daniel's lips saying "Oh shit." she smiled and continued staring at him. 'Now that I've got a good look at him he's actually kinda cute..WAIT WHAT AM I SAYING?! STOP IT ELISE! STOP IT! you do not think he's cute! YOU DO NOT THINK HE'S CUTE! He is weird and a creep!' She sigh in defeat. 'He actually looks handsome given that he's a nerd, a loser, and a nobody... I mean he's not as handsome as my Edward but.. handsome in his own league.' She finished. Someone then tapped her forearm and she immediately stopped staring at Daniel. She then gave a questioning look at the blue haired girl beside her. "Why are you staring at the loser?" It took her a few seconds to process her friend's question but when she did she immediately blushed and shrugged. "What!? What are you talking about!? Why would I look at that weirdo?!" Samantha then gave her a 'oh-really' look but before she could question Elise again the teacher caught them due to Elise's recent outburst. "Ms Avalon! Ms Jefferson! do have anything to share to the rest of the class?!" The teacher said scolding them. "No ma'am! Sorry ma'am!" They both said in unison. Elise gave her friend a death glare for getting them in that situation. after the bell rang she then pulled her friend in the arm dragging her out of the classroom. When they got to the hallway Elise then immediately scolded her friend. "Why would you ask me that Sammy?! you know I don't like one of your surprise questions!" She said not letting go of her friend's hand. "I'm sorry! Elie but you we're staring at him right?" She asked her friend while giving her a grin. "I told you know!" She then got defensive again. "See! you're being defensive again!" Samantha replied. "No I'm not!" she replied still being defensive. "Yes you are stop denying it! oh my gosh! do like him?!" She asked teasingly. "NO! Why would I!? I mean I got my Edward already! Who is much much more better than him in every way!" she said immediately regretting the last part. "Relax I'm only teasing.. it's actually really hard to believe the one and only Elise Avalon Dating that creep! eww! ugh!" Samantha said with a disgusting tone. "Exactly." Elise replied with sad tone. someone then hugged her from behind giving her quite the scare. "Hey Babe!" Edward greeted giving her a kiss on the cheek. "Oh! you scared me! hello babe!" Elise replied and returned his kiss with her own on his cheek. "Ready for lunch?" her boyfriend asked. "Yeah! let's get to the cafeteria I'm starving, I've gotta text Carol to meet us on the cafeteria." She replied.
-On the Cafeteria
Elise and her friends sat down at their usual spot when suddenly she saw Daniel walk past their table and went for the lunch line, she immediately looked away as he passed in order not to have a repeat of what happened earlier. Edward arrived with their food and handed it out to the girls. "Thanks Edward!" Exclaimed Samantha. "What a gentleman." Said Carol. "Thanks Ladies!" Edward said replied while staring at something or rather someone. "Hey loser!" he called in snotty rich boy tone as Daniel passed by carrying his usual sandwich and bottled water. Daniel then stopped and looked at Edward with a look of shock and confusion, then looked around him as if to make sure and confirm Edward was really referring to him. he then pointed to himself while staring back at Edward and gulped while nodding in questioning manner. "Yeah you! who else would I be referring to? you're the only loser here!" He said in a mocking tone. The whole cafeteria boomed in laughter. Daniel then slowly approached the table. "Yeah? What do you need?" Daniel asked. "Pfff! as If I'll ever need something from the likes of you!.. Anyways! I've heard what happened between you and my Elise." He said with anger on his voice. "Look it was just a.. ugh! I didn't mean to offend her in anyway!" Daniel replied nervously and defensively then it went quiet. Edward slammed his fist on the table shocking everyone and scaring Elise and her friends. He then stood up approached Daniel and grabbing him by the collar and said. "So it's true! you insulted her!" He said still with anger on his voice. Elise was too shock to intervene. "Listen here you low life pest! You don't insult people with power over insignificant worms like you!.. I have the power to make you disappear so you better apologize to my woman!" he said that last part in a hushed and low angry voice while letting go of Daniel's Shirt. "Right." Daniel said he then approached Elise. "Avalon I'm sorry I offended you with the comment I said earlier." Daniel said in a monotonic voice. Elise felt bad for him even more. "There done. can I have my lunch now?" Daniel left never waiting for an answer. "What a spineless loser!" Carol said mockingly. "Yeah he never even stood his ground and apologized right away! hahaha!" Samantha added making Elise feel even worst than she already felt. mean while on Daniel's end. "Classic snowflake people of course she can't take criticism. but hey at least the situation didn't escalate any further, but her boyfriend though sheesh that guy has some anger management issues, I thought that guy was about to skewer me with his fencing sword. I'd heal though haha!" Daniel finished as if nothing had happened. back in the cafeteria Elise was poking her food because she lost her appetite. "Elie what's wrong?" Samantha asked in concern. "Nothing it's just I lost my appetite." She replied honestly. "It's because that nerd came near you is it?" Carol said with her signature mocking tone. "Yeah that probably is the case!" Edward added with a laugh. "If he went near me I'd probably lose my appetite too!" Samantha added. "I'm about to throw up talking about him!" Carol replied bitterly. "GUYS ENOUGH!" Elise scolded his friends and her boyfriend. "Just continue eating! and would you please stop talking about Daniel!" Elise finished. "Alright jeez! we'll stop!" Carol said. "Since when did you started calling him by his first name!?" Edward said in with a hint of annoyance on his voice clearly feeling jealous. "Listen I'm not in the mood for this Edward! can you just please forget about it!? I mean it's his name why not use it!?" Elise said now it's her turn to be angry, the table was silent and awkward for the remainder of the lunch period. After the bell rang he they all went back to their respective classes.
-Avalon manor
The butler opened a massive double doors and welcomed his young mistress, however Elise just nodded and greeted her parents and gave them both a hug and a kiss. Her dad then asked her if she was alright but then again she just nodded and went straight to her room and just lay down on the comforts of her king sized bed, however she hadn't noticed that her mother followed her right as she was about to let it all out her mother knocked on her door and said. "May I come in dear?" Her mother Eliza was always on the sweet side and is always there for her when she needs her, she didn't wait for Elise to answer she just came in straight away. "I know something's dear what is it?" Her mom asked her with her sweet motherly voice and gave her child a hug, which she accepted with all her heart she just melted into her mother's embrace and started sobbing. Her mother just comforted her patting her back and stoking her hair. "Just let it all out my little bird." she said, she gave her the nickname little bird due to Elise's fascination of birds when she was young. She still loves birds now as a teenager she even has her own bird sanctuary she visits when ever she feels alone. When she stopped crying her mother wiped her and asked. "Talk to me, what's troubling you my dear?" Elise took a deep breath and told her what happened today and how she felt. "It's only natural too feel guilt and feel bad, you're human after all. Even if you're an Avalon you still are human inside and out." She smiled to her daughter, that motherly smile never fails to lift her spirits up. Then her mother continued to speak. "I know you have you're father's pride and ego but you have my soft heart." She kissed her daughter's forehead and hugged her. Elise then spoke. "You wanna know the truth mom? I never wanted to act like that anyway! I hate myself for doing so all this years pushing people away and treating them harshly just because I'm an Avalon!" Tears of frustration began to form in her eyes. Her mother hugged her again and said. "You don't have to act that way just because you're an Avalon you change the way you act if you want to, remember you are your own person regardless of your last name.. just don't get rid of your pride as an Avalon. Just minimize it a bit." her mother added with a chuckle and Elise chuckled too. "Tell you what." Her mother said. "You go apologize to that young boy you mistreated, I'm sure he'll accept it. From what you've told me about this boy he seems like a good person." Her mother reassured her. "But mom how will I do it? This is my first time actually doing this type of thing." She asked her mother. "Ask him out!" She blushed profusely. "MOM!" She exclaimed her mother just laughed. "I was only teasing my little bird, talk to him privately nobody else needs to get involve." She advised her daughter. her daughter then also gave her, her signature sweet smile. "Thanks mom!" Her daughter thanked her. "There's the smile I needed to see!" her mother exclaimed. They both embraced one last time before her mother stood up and walked to the door. "Oh, I almost forgot be ready for dinner in an hour." her mom added. "Okay mom, I'll be there! I love you!" She replied, her mother smiled at her and replied "I love you too my little bird." and closed the door. 'Now what should I do to talk to him privately?' She asked herself. "I GOT IT! I should write a note and drop it inside his locker tomorrow! But where in school has less people?" She thought about it real hard and finally she realized that there was a rooftop in school where people don't usually go. "The rooftop! well then I better write this note now." She began writing on a pink card like paper the note reads 'Meet me at the rooftop at lunch -E Avalon.' "There all done! Alright I need to go extra early in school tomorrow in order for me to drop this thing without anyone spotting me. 'I can't believe I'll be talking to him alone of all people." She then put the note on her bag so that she won't forget or leave it behind for tomorrow.
