'Birds of a Feather' Part 5 - At A Party I Don't Wanna Be At

Night already came and both Jazzy and Finn tried to find the best clothes that matches the night sky. Finn wore his regular outfit; his leather vest, leather gloves and black belt with the golden buckle. He thought of adding extra, but Jazzy convinced him not to. He wouldn't enjoy wearing spikes in which he could accidentally harm himself with. Jazzy opted to wear only a red leather jacket and a golden spiky necklace, right over a black dress. She wondered if she should apply black makeup, but she didn't want to take another round of going shower at night time.

They arrived at Rock Hallow, but it appeared empty. There weren't that many Rock Trolls around with only a small number of them slacking around and doing nothing. It appeared that nearly all of them were invited at Val's party. [1]

They arrived at Val's house – a large brick apartment that was two stories high. The windows were open to reveal the raving Rock Trolls. Several of them were on the balcony, talking to each other or gulping down cans of coke. While it was too crowded, you could see several of them jumping up and smashing their guitars out of sight when they fell down. Loud music was playing from inside with the lights turn on. For some reason, they were all red, flashing to the loud beat.

Finn frowned, glancing at his companion.

Jazzy was stupefied, especially when one Rock Troll came flying out and landed right in front of her.

Knocked out, stars circling around his head and tongue sticking out.

The Chess Master groaned, prodding the Rock Troll's head in disgust. "So, this is one of those 'go wild and go drunk' parties, huh?"

"They are more looking to drinking energy drinks," points out Finn, picking one Coke can that is thrown out. "Not getting on the beers

"True that."

The two slowly stepped in where they had to squeeze through the crowd. It was already a riot inside with all the Rock Trolls singing and jumping to the loud music played across the apartment. Lights of red, purple and white flashed all around the place with nearby beatboxes booming loudly. There was absolute chaos going on, but there was some sort of organized manners. It wasn't as colorful as Pop Village, but at least it wasn't so distracting to knock one person off.

The music was the main thing driving the entire party. It was loud, metal and shredding. Almost enough to knock one person off their feet. It was screeching with too many people enhancing this. Finn blocked both of his ears from the noises that was coming from the party, whimpering a little.

When Jazzy looked over at him, the Trap Techno Troll quickly covered his mouth with his bandanna. He was trying to look tough. Now that was a concern, but Jazzy found herself unable to point this out.

Is this out of concern of not provoking him or she is worried that she might catch the wrong idea?

She didn't know, but she was suddenly face-to-face with the one and only host of the party.

"Hey there!" said Val, all dressed in black leather. "You guys really came here! You got your access tickets?"

"Yep," said Jazzy, taking hers and Finn's out. "We got them here."

"I'm surprised that you got all of those bludgers in your apartment," said Finn dryly. "Almost enough to weigh down your entire ceiling."

"Yeah. That's how parties work. Do you never have that many guests over at your house like this?"

CRASH!

A nearby Rock Troll – who somehow managed to break through the ceiling above – landed right behind her.

"Not like this," said Finn, pointing to the fallen Troll.

"I never hosted any parties at my house," said Jazzy. "I'm more of a guest."

"Understood then," said Val. "Well, you did a good job of using the FLOW."

"The what?" said Finn.

"It stands for 'I Fake Laziness so Others Work'."

Finn narrowed his eyes. "Now that is manipulative."

"At least I decided to make this party up on my own. We have a lot here! We got all the Rock bands here that will make it your 'Rockawakening'."

"I don't think there is such thing as that," pointed out Jazzy.

"Tell that to 'Bad Hair Day'," said Val proudly. "They are able to make even non-Rock Trolls become fans of them by letting them hear their music. Even Poppy and Branch fell for them."

Finn wasn't sure if he was willing to be a die-hard fan. He looked away, rolling his shoulders around.

"How about I give you a few drinks here?" offered Val. "We even have a lot of good junk food around, including rock candy! Want to come over and try?"

Val was already pointing at a makeshift bar nearby. The shelves were stacked with fizzy drinks and packets of chips and other snacks. There were female Rock Trolls, drinking a lot. One of them was doing a challenge of drinking every different type of drink they could find. It must have burn because once she was done, she closed her eyes and tried to keep herself from vomiting. When this succeeded, she raised both fingers in the air as her friends cheered.

Jazzy took another look around the apartment. Aside from the furniture Val had, she had managed to redecorate her dining room with a large stage, complete with spotlights. Nearly bit enough to fit an entire set of line dancers. The whole place was in warm colors; the type of palette she enjoyed. However, she doesn't think she can be as energetic as everyone is. At least she can have a little bit of a relaxing time before getting onto the action.

"Sure…" she said.

"What about you, Finny boy?" asked Val.

Finn growled. "It's Electro Ray."

"Want to come and take a drink?"

"I'm not much for energy drinks," said Finn. "And I…eh…have a sore throat."

Jazzy looked at him in concern. Is sore throat a symptom for Techno Trolls for not being dehydrated for so long?

"Be careful though," said Val with a stupid smirk. "It's going to get crazy here."

As if by example, a lamp went flying across Jazzy's head. It didn't hit her, but it knocked her hat off and crashed onto the floor. Several pieces scattered all across the floor, but one sheepish Troll quickly came over to clean it up.

Finn wasn't sure if he wanted to be around. But he doesn't want to be a bother and clearly disinterested in mixing around with Val. Besides, he doesn't know what to do with the Chess Master. They didn't really have much in common, right?

"I-I'll be fine," he lied, gritting his teeth.

Neither of the girls could see the clench teeth underneath his bandanna.

"Alright then," said Val coolly, taking Jazzy by the hand. "Enjoy the party, bro!"

Finn was left alone in the middle of the crowd. However, as he watched Jazzy move away, a part of him was slowly fading away. He wasn't sure why, but the feeling of being safe was diminishing and he was left wide opened in the woods. The packed room was a crush of party guests – loud and cheerful, overplaying it. [1s]

A new rock music was starting to play. All the Rock Trolls cheered loudly as they heard the first few gentle strums of a guitar. Finn smiled to himself, thinking that this song may be not so loud as he thought it might be. Maybe he doesn't need to stress out that much. [2]

And then, here came the violent and earth-shattering majority of the song.

"DARE ME TO JUMP OFF OF THIS JERSEY BRIDGE!"

The first few lines didn't need to take long to create the mood as all the Rock Trolls started to scream to the song. He felt it. The erratic stomping of feet, the ground shaking beneath him and SOMETHING screaming in a demonic voice. He frantically looked around to see what was going on as everybody started to go crazy.

"What in the blazes?!" he thought to himself. "What the hell is going on?!"

"RED FOR THE DRINK THAT'S MIXED WITH SUICIDE, EVERYTHING RED!"

The chorus came and it was more melodious than the metal screaming he heard. However, it did nothing to calm the mood down. He felt a sharp, cold needle poking into his skin as everybody started to sing along, throwing their cups in the air. This was different. This was SO different to how he wanted it to be. Why doesn't he even like this?

He tried to go along by faking to enjoy it. He started bopping his head to the beat of the song, but got dizzy due to how fast it was going. All the Rock Trolls were jumping around and thrashing wildly. He kept bumping into one or one of them would accidentally punch him right in the stomach. The Rock Trolls are the most wildest Trolls he ever know with a BURNING passion for their music. This music really suits them, but for him? Not so much.

"The thing I think I LOVE will surely bring me pain! Intoxication, paranoia, and a lot of fame!"

Those words hit him so hard. It was demanding him. Pulling him. It was already becoming louder as he started to dive into the lyrics of the song.

Does he ever love his music? Does he constantly use it to help him escape the loneliness? Just a replacement for a void?

The Rock Trolls never dared to stop to think about the angry and despair words of this song. Granted that it was fitted to a banger and 'hopeful' tune, they find pleasure in it. They were already used to this one as it had been around for years. A good way to vent their anger off. However, this was already terrifying Finn as he kept listening to the song. A few Trolls started stepping on his fins by mistakes. However, it felt like HIGH HELLS stabbed into his flesh.

The music was becoming louder. And louder. The booming enhanced, the guitar ripping was replaced by the shredding of metal and the words were starting to turn robotic in his mind. He started to fly backwards, but he realized that he didn't know where was the exit. He couldn't even move with the crowd surrounding him.

The song was really upsetting. Being pushed to his breaking point. Oh, how many times when he kept being ignored, disrespected and laughed at. Not taken seriously. Seen as a bother. A freaking bother. This didn't feel right for him. This music wasn't him. Why should he try to hang out with those people? They are not like him. They aren't like him. He doesn't fit in with them.

The music was slowly becoming distorted as everything around him began to spin. Several different lights start to flash to different colors as he found himself unable to process anything. Random faces appeared in his mind as they shrieked at him, obviously high at the party. His mind was already falling apart as he failed to concentrate on his surroundings. It was like he was forced onto the battlefield, but he didn't have the strength to fight it.

He doesn't belong there.

He needs to get away.

He wants to go home.

He wants to be alone.

While he didn't know what he is doing, his whole body started to curl up into a ball. His hair nearly surrounded him as he tried to block out the noise. He felt the talking, but it was so FARAWAY.

He will wait until he can only hear silence. He will wait until he hears SiLeNcE…

In reality, Jazzy, Val and some of her friends watched from the bar. They spot Finn becoming dizzy in a daze as he tried to follow along with the crowd with this punk song. However, he was starting to shiver. His ears kept twitching and he kept shaking his head like a psychopath. He slowly curled up on him as if he was having a headache.

He bent down as if he was going to vomit.

"What is going on?" said Val.

"He looks like he is about to throw up," said one girl.

"Or probably he is going to fart," said another girl. "Or both."

"He looks like he took too much already!" said a third girl. "Talk about a stomachache!"

The three girls started to chuckle amongst themselves at the sight of Finn cowering. However, Val realized what is going on, wondering if this was harming him in some way. She never saw a Troll suddenly acting winded-up in the middle of the night, so this was new. She learnt a lot in TrollsTopia and that meant not to get anybody hurt.

Jazzy stayed quiet as she had her eyes on Finn. Something clicked inside her as she realized the situation.

Finn was struggling.

And the girls right next to her and being completely ignorant to his hurt. Sick bastards. They aren't even better than she is on a regular basis.

The girls were still gossiping with each other.

"You think he is going to vomit all over the place and leave a mess around?"

"I bet it's all going to be dark blue like his skin. If he's got enough jelly in him."

"You know what they say about people like him; these not-party-lover people like him never know how to settle down."

"It's like he doesn't even like anything in his life, right?"

Freaking wrong. That set Val off.

She immediately grabbed all the drinks of the deck and slammed them down to the ground. Glass shattered all around them, but the wet liquid was the one that splashed all over their legs. The girls gasped and Jazzy nearly screamed, placing a hand over her mouth.

"HEY!" shouted one of the girls. "What the heck, Val?!"

"That is actually uncool," snarled Val. "Just doing a thing like this because he isn't rocking with us? You didn't see that he is upset? You're really sick and it's the AWFUL type of sick."

She was right. Nobody should just watch the despair unfold. Jazzy needs to do something. Without batting an eye, she started to make her way to the shaking Finn.

The Trap Techno was already out of touch like he was disoriented. The music started to blur out of his mind and slowly turned into random glitches and weird noises. He could barely feel the thumping of the Trolls around him or see the lights properly. He could hear his heart beating in his twitching ears. He could barely breathe. He felt that he was going insane…

Then, he felt a presence on both of his shoulders. Two hands rubbing his shoulders. His vision cleared and he saw soft red-pink eyes.

"W-W-W-What?" he whispered out.

"Take all the time you need," said Jazzy, keeping her hands on his shoulders. "I'm here. Focus on me." [2s]

The song had finally ended, but thank goodness that Val decided to turn off the music or it would send Finn into another panic attack. The Trap Techno Troll noticed that the music stopped, but he could still hear the Trolls chattering. At least the sound wasn't hurting him anymore.

He looked back at Jazzy, looking down at her hands. He wondered why out of all people, she would help him. Didn't she make it clear that she didn't like him? Is he right that the two didn't go along? Not like this. She wouldn't come over to him when he is freaking out. But here, he couldn't help but focus on Jazzy. He took a shallow breath as he tried to breathe properly.

Deep breath in…and breathe out…

Deep breath in…and breathe out…

Deep breath in…and breathe out…

Deep breath in…and breathe out…

Deep breath in…and breathe out…

D-Deep breath in…a-and breathe out…

D-Deep breath in…a-and breathe o-out…

D-Deep breath in…a-and breathe o-out…

Finally, Finn was able to calm down. His heart had stopped beating fast and his mind is at ease. But all that was left was utter humiliation. Tears started running down his face. His soft and defeated face.

Jazzy thought that he was going to try to hide it, but Finn instead took down his bandanna and looked at the ground. Possibly due to not wanting to drench his bandanna in his tears. It became such a long distance away from the tough and aloof Electro Ray. All she saw was a teenager. Like her.

Finn's heart started beating again. He was breathing rapidly again. However, he was WHEEZING. He was sounding like he was close to sobbing over his mental breakdown. He stared at Jazzy with a lost look. This wasn't the rough Troll she saw. This was a Troll in need of help and support.

Jazzy frowned, feeling a little disappointed that she wasn't able to help him at the start.

"I'm sorry about that," whispered Finn, still in tears.

"You don't need to apologize," said Jazzy. "By Jove, one's sadness shouldn't be derided. I won't pressure questions on you."

But Finn was upset. He wanted to get this off his chest. Jazzy helped him a lot and he felt that he needed to owe her. He nearly died and she saved him when she came to his needs.

"I-I didn't really like this party," he starts. "I-I-I could have fit in, but the music…it's not my style. It scares me."

"You could come with me and stay by the side," offer Jazzy. "You don't need to try on the extreme."

"I-It's not that. It's…it's…" Finn crosses his arms. "I don't feel that I should stick around with you."

Jazzy sighed. "Don't be ridiculous. You know that the two of us are supposed to-"

"That is only for the house. I just…feel that I shouldn't be with you. I feel…estranged from you. I'm just…a waste of space. It doesn't feel right."

"What's stopping you?"

Finn couldn't explain the whole reason. He didn't know why. "I-I-I don't know. I'm sorry. I really wish to be among with the…normal Trolls, but…I feel SO different. So different that you would not understand. It's like something is wrong with me."

His voice began to crack. "I-I-I don't feel like I should be here. But…I don't want to be alone. I don't want to be left out. I-I-I don't know why, but it feels like something is not right with this."

Jazzy didn't know what she was doing, but she found herself coming close as Finn rested his chin on her shoulder. This actually felt nice. She didn't know when she had ever embrace a person after she went solo. But she reminded herself that this wasn't the first time she had to comfort someone by hugging them, letting them cry in her chest.

"I can see that it's tough trying to fit in the crowd," said Jazzy. "And you feel different. But that's OK. We all have our different perspectives which makes us who we are."

Finn shivered. "You don't think that is OK?"

"There are people who do not like parties. Introverts, busy people or people who do not like to be touched. Take a quick try of my shoes. I don't think I should be here; it's not right for my own business. But…I'm looking forward to having a good time after hard work and hard times."

"I do too," added Finn. "I want to have a good time as well…"

"Why did you decided to risk yourself if you know it might hurt you?"

Finn looked down. "Y-You know that I hide things a lot. I've been wearing a mask for so long to keep myself true to my nickname. Electro Ray never drops his act in front of us others. I just…think I am better or don't mix around with other people, but…I don't hate everyone that much. I just yearn to be a part of it somehow."

"I don't think it matters what you are," said Jazzy. "And you don't need to go out of your comfort zone if you want to feel satisfied. You know that you don't need to do what everyone can do and you're not a waste of space."

"You don't think so?"

Jazzy shrugged. "I like you, mate. You're like Branch. Us seeing things to be serious and that the world isn't always fun."

Finn sniffed, deciding to wipe his tears. They were already staining Jazzy's jacket. "Yeah…do you kind of wish that we can be like everybody else…popular and pretty enough to do what others would?"

"I think we are pretty in our own way and we do not need to worry if we are in the background. You still matter in life."

The Trap Techno Troll nodded. "I-I see. You don't need to tell this to me. No need for pity."

"This is not a pity party," said Jazzy. "You got my attention there."

Finn let out a sigh of relief. He never expected this from the Chess Master. Here, she became understanding towards him. The hardness was still there, but Jazzy turned into a teacher who looked after her students. She was already acting like his surrogate older sister. This was…different. Different to what he expected. It felt nice.

"Well…you don't believe it because you don't know yet. Only believe when you do."

Maybe Trollex was right. Maybe there are actual people who can understand him. Maybe there are people who would listen to him. Maybe there are people who like him for the way he is. He still felt unsure, still feeling detached, but he didn't feel so alone anymore.

A smile formed on his face as he lets go. He wiped his tears away, deciding that he shouldn't feel so bad about himself. Finally calmed down after his freak out. Jazzy sighed, taking his hand and pulling him over to the now empty bar. Away from the chaotic crowd.

The music played again – but true to Val's word – she changed it to the 'New Wave' genre. It didn't sound so earth-cracking as before, but the energy was still there as all the Rock Trolls continued to dance to the beat. Jazzy and Finn were alone together at the bar, but they didn't mind. At least they didn't mind being together on their own.

They decided to have a bit of small talk. Jazzy didn't feel like she wanted to explain about her bounty hunter experiences; while most of them were the best things in her life, she didn't want to come across as unsympathetic. Finn tried to explain about his family, but he came short when explaining about his home; he felt that it was so normal that he didn't know what would be new to the Chess Master.

The past few minutes had gone by and things turned comfortable. It wasn't as comfortable as when they were alone, but this wasn't bad. This was fine. Maybe it was because they started talking to each other, but it felt more safe at the party.

A sing-off occurred next and this was what caught the two Trolls' attention. Several bands or makeshift groups came up onto Val's small stage to play their own style of Rock Music. Surprisingly, some of them didn't use guitars and instead used technology to play music. But the tone of it was still Rock. Nearly like Alternative Music.

The most surprising thing was when Val announced the next unexpected performer.

"Alright, rockers!" she said, yelling through the microphone. "You all pumped up by now?!"

The rowdy crowd shouted in agreement, punching their fists in the air.

Jazzy weakly did the same Rock gesture.

"We are going to have something a little different tonight," she said. "We all know about the Techno Trolls and their music, right?"

There were some murmurs of agreement or opinions of their own.

"And I'm sure we all heard the nice Swing Music in the past."

Not that much. The Rock Trolls were left dumbfounded.

"Well, just today, we have two new Trolls who appear to be much cooler versions of their own tribes. Like they are Rock versions of their tribe."

Jazzy hissed quietly. "We are not cool. We are self-proclaimed loners."

"I think we should here performances from these two!"

Two red spotlights shone all over Jazzy and Finn. The latter who had been munching happily on a popsicle dropped the stick in shock.

"Here they are!" announced Val dramatically. "The Chess Master and the one and only Finn Okazaki!"

The crowd cheered, but Jazzy wasn't pleased by this. This wasn't what she had in mind. Performing in front of them with Finn?! She didn't know which song to sing or what suits them right! She is going to strangle that Rock ambassador for picking on her!

But Finn wasn't fazed by this. The only thing that ticked him of was-

"Just say my name RIGHT!" growled Finn, his teeth clenched like a wolf. "Bloody damnit."

"This is bad, Okazaki," whispered Jazzy. "What are we going to do?"

"Just don't bail and be a drongo," said Finn, chilled. "Let's just go up there and sing."

"I'm not going to do another impromptu musical without knowing what I'm doing!"

"Impromptu; that's what most Trolls do whenever we want to dance and sing. How about we just do an Aussie Salute and then walk out of this without getting those slabs touching us? Hurt no one, nothing hurts us."

Jazzy groaned reluctantly. She didn't want to be caught up in this, but she wasn't going out being nagged.

"Fine," she whined. "But you have to pay for the water bill."

Finn rolled his eyes as he dragged her towards the stage. By the back of her collar, no less strong. A nearly swap of power between those two fools.

Val grinned widely as she welcomed the two. She pointed to a DJ set that had already been set up for Finn. The Trap Techno Troll placed his bandanna over his mouth and flied straight towards it. It looked a little small, but at least it wasn't too complex. It reminded him of Trollex's turntables; the ultimate royal DJ set.

Jazzy gripped onto her cane, shaking a little. She didn't want to do this, but what other choice she has? She was confident before, but this was the first time performing with another Troll or a different Troll who isn't from her tribe. She didn't know what to sing or act when needing to mix her music with Trap Music. It was as if she switched places with Finn, being the nervous one.

"You still don't have any style?" asked Finn casually as he turned the DJ set on.

"Shut up," snarled Jazzy. "Working on it."

"You don't need to think so hard on it, Jazz hands," said Finn, nearly teasing. "Music doesn't really come from hard work. It comes from what you like and desire. Think of how you step into the shadows as the named Chess Master."

He rubbed his finger against the edge. Finn knew this feeling. When being the DJ, he felt like he was the boss. The own host of the stage and nothing can dominate him. It felt like boasting, but he couldn't fight that feeling. It made him feel more alive than being grumpy about everything. And OK, he'll have to admit that he felt a little more touchy than ever.

"Perhaps I can lead you through a possible adventure of yours?" he suggested. [3]

He turned on the keyboard and started to play the first few notes. It was low-toned and settle, yet mysteriously. The vibe came off like a spy movie. The synths seemed to come from a video game. Jazzy listened clearly as she tried to figure out what is the song. It reminded her of the night time. Every time she went out on a mission. Like a wolf crawling out from its hiding place.

It sounded dangerous.

Jazzy sighed as she faced the audience. The words slowly got to her as she began to sing the song. She started to tell the story of a mysterious villain. One who only loved themselves and act as a ghost to their victims. Finn started to play a trippy, movie-feel future bass instrumental to suit the tone for this dangerous persona.

"I know I can be so cold…"

Finn added in an echoing background vocal in the mix to suit the futuristic feel of the song. It added to the modernization of this sultry and diva track. Jazzy slowly found the confidence as all the Rock Trolls stare at her amazed. They never heard anything like this in a Pop or Techno song. This felt like a snake rolling up to them and tempting them to have some fun.

Jazzy smiled to herself. This was good. This felt good. This spoke to her of what the 'Chess Master' could be. The unique, crazy, cunning and best version of herself and not a figure of somebody else. She felt as if she was starting to embody it. She was becoming more confident in her own skin through this haunted melody.

As the pre-chorus comes in, the instrumental lowered down as Finn played gentle synths while keeping up with the bass. Jazzy putted on her traditional smirk as she walked down from the stage. The Rock Crowd slowly opened a path, knowing that she wanted to be in the middle for all of them to watch. A honey pot for them to drool at.

"Time to roll the dice!"

Jazzy snapped her fingers as all the lights turned dark. They turned red and shine all over her as a deadpanned and high-fashion instrumental comes over her. A melodious and deep synth complete with the backing kickdrum beat. She spun around as she held onto her cane, explaining that she was the type to embrace the danger in front of her. She was the type of manipulate and sell your soul if she needed to.

And then, came the kicker.

She yanked a random Rock Troll and made him dance with her in a duet-like way. More synths were added as the instrumental grew louder for a heavy beat drop. The two of them danced with Jazzy being the dominant one. With her repeating the words 'straight-up villain' and her moving the man around instead of letting him to do the job, she was showing that she was the one in control and taking no shame in being a villain.

Her light and airy vocals somewhat sent her dance partner in a trance as if he was hypnotized. He went along with everything he was forced to do. This was one part seduction and one part ethereal siren call to get a man to fall in front of a villainous mercenary. Eventually, just before the chorus ends, she swung him back into the crowd and watched him crash into his friends.

Just before she could sing the next line, all the lights suddenly turned blue and a male voice took over.

"I'm alive, yet you're dead
Like the poison in your head
Stay away from my own web.
Or you go…POW!"

It was coming from Finn. He was singing those lines, but he didn't seem to know. While he was into the song, he hadn't check if his voice was loud enough to be heard by everyone. Yet, everybody heard him loud and clear as he told them that he was a danger to those who came close to him. The instrumental dropped a little to an eerie bell ringing before a loud pop played as he dropped off into the next verse.

It was only when he realized Jazzy was not singing. Everybody was watching him. Uh oh. This might not be good, but he didn't know what he was doing.

Whoops.

Out of instinct, he just kept singing and played the synths in the background on a more sharp and discordant tone. He took the place of a sinister man, telling how he used his charm to feed on his victims' pain.

Jazzy was surprised by this. He could sing really well and he used his own autotuned voice to make him sound more emotionless and robotic. The perfect fit for the song. But that didn't mean she was going to let him take all the credit.

She sang with him the second half of the second verse in a whispery voice. The two looked at each other as they wondered how bad they can be. Jazzy walked back up onto stage as they locked eyes with each other. There was a sense of understanding of how they wanted to be as themselves. While they weren't outright villains, they felt like one in their own way.

"Get happy when you're sad, only care about a bag!"

At that line, both of them nearly yelled loudly. Finn took over most of the vocals for Verse 3 while Jazzy ab-libed some of his lines. This went on until the end of the pre-chorus. He realized that he enjoyed playing music with Jazzy. He was somewhat alright with working with others. He enjoyed himself performing, especially on that night when he performed for the first time in TrollsTopia. It was nice to have the Chess Master around.

Even though her genre didn't seem to fit with the Future Bass song, her voice did and gave a gothic-tinged tone. She sounded very good with soft and her vocals matched really well with the lyrics.

At the chorus, the two decided to sing together. The light and airy vocals of Finn contrasted perfectly with the richer and raspy voice of Jazzy that enchanted their song. It was sensation, dramatic and brought in the darkness of the shadows. A charming and alluring track that both of them could fall victim as well.

Feeling satisfied and confident, Jazzy belted out for the bridge with Finn.

"I'm alive, yet you're dead
Like the poison in your head
Stay away from my own web.
Or you go…POW!"

The Rock Trolls were already starting to jump up and down. While it was a little slow and not so energetic, they loved the tone of this song. It felt so scary, thrilling and above all; daring. A dare to step into the unknown. They began to pump their fists in rhythm as the heavy beat dropped came in as both Jazzy and Finn sang in monotonous voices.

"Listen to your brain go…
Go stupid, go dumb, go stupid…"

Just between the bridge and the chorus, Jazzy heard psychotic laughter. She looked around to see where it was coming from, only to realize that it was Finn playing it. He gabe her a smirk, getting a glare in response. She is so going to tie him up to the ceiling fan if he is going to be like this.

"Don't scare me, bro," she hissed.

They continued singing together for the final chorus. A good blend between some sassy Swing and aggressive Trap to make a good song together. While unsure if it would be rememberable, at least they were having fun. They felt the magnificence, the nostalgia, the shine all over them. All the Rock Trolls were jamming out to their song, loving it.

It could go on forever.

The instrumental stopped as Finn and Jazzy sang the last few lines.

"I'm alive, yet you're dead
Like the poison in your head
Stay away from my own web.
Or you go…"

KABOOM! [3s]

That wasn't part of the song. A nearby explosion shook the entire apartment, catching Finn and Jazzy off-guard. The Rock Trolls appeared nonchalant about this, cheering for the performance instead. The two were left dumbfounded, their eyes widened and sharp to identify the explosion.

Val made her way up to the stage, shaking Jazzy's hand. "A rocking song I have to say! Nice roots to the dark side. You have some slick style!"

"The…Chess Master doesn't have any style," said Jazzy, her skin turning red in embarrassment.

"Crikey…" said Finn, still worried. "What is that explosion? We just heard that!"

"Don't worry!" said Val in ignorance. "It happens ALL the time. All the houses in Rock Hallow are fireproof. And we have resistance to fire and lava. Don't you remember we literally live next to a volcano?"

"But do you know what might happened out there?" hissed Jazzy. "Somebody might hurt! Property might be dangerous. A staged bombing!"

"Pfft! Chillax! If there is ever a real bombing, then you would hear someone screaming-"

"THIEF!" shrieked a banshee voice from a building facing Val's apartment. "YOU GET BACK HERE!"

Val blinked. "Wow. What a coincidence. There WAS a staged bombing."

The Rock Trolls went silent as they looked through the window. On the other side of the road, smoke poured out from one of the windows. Val quickly came out from her door to see the chaos unfolding. Her sharp ears caught the shouting and punches being thrown. Then, something flew out of the window with the neighbor's head appearing there.

"HE STOLE MY DIAMOND CASE!" he roars. "HE STOLE MY DIAMOND CASE!"

Val raised an eyebrow as she took a glance at the burglar. It was a golden skinned Classical Troll with long white hair that was tied as a ponytail at the very end, brown eyes, white wings and wore a brown formal jacket, spiky bracelets and a black and white shirt. Strangely, he has black stripes under his eyes to represent what must be war paint.

With narrowed eyes, he flew off. Because of the weight of the black suitcase he was carrying, he couldn't lift himself higher, but only at a height where no Troll could be able to reach him.

"You got to be kidding me!" said Val before running after the burglar.

Finn gasped at the sight. He didn't expect a robbery to happen. He thought TrollsTopia was going to be some sick, happy place, but it seemed that there is danger around every corner. He looked behind to see Jazzy, staring at where the burglar went. The Chess Master was in a daze, unable to believe what she saw.

In an act of what seemed to be impulsiveness, she shook her head and ran away through the crowd, disappearing in the hallways.

Finn tried to call for her, but she was already gone. The Trap Techno Troll looked back at where she went and outside. He had three choices. Either go with Jazzy, go with Val or do nothing. He didn't want to be involved with this. He swore that he wouldn't cause any trouble at all and this fell right into his lap. He never faced a robbery before!

But Jazzy was already off to form some plan to stop him. However, wherever she was going might waste time. And Val was in need of help to stop that burglar.

Groaning reluctantly, Finn lifted down his bandanna and flew out of the apartment, hoping to catch up with Val.

AN: I had a lot of fun making the musical sequence of 'Villain'. I tried looking for a song that captured both Jazzy's and Finn's 'dark and edgy' tone, so I decided to go for this song. I chose Jenny's cover because it suits more to Finn's Trap Music and Jazzy's young voice. This cover has more Trap beats and influences. It is bone-chilling, but it is a cool song. (I also love K/DA :3)

The scene where Finn starts to freak out when listening to a really hard punk song is based on the 1996 film 'Romeo + Juliet' where one of the protagonists take a drug at a party, becoming disoriented. However, this is more on Finn being frightened by the music and the party going on is making him overwhelmed. It becomes harsh as there are people who can be easily overwhelmed at a loud party. I believe that I once got overwhelmed at a party, but that was due to the lighting used. I got a little concerned as this scene might be distressing and harmful to some readers. Let me know any concerns you may have about this.

Did you guys not see the plot twist at the end of the chapter? I bet you all got shocked by what happened! Let me know in the review what you think of this chapter so far and the development of Jazzy and Finn so far.
