So, I finally decided to write chapter 2, it was difficult because I keep procrastinating, so, I'd better start writing otherwise I'll accidentally wait even longer
I don't own Pokémon, obviously
Tetra's POV
The doctor led me to Revis's room, and I was nervous the whole way there, I mean, what do you even say to someone whose life you just saved?!
"Are you the one who brought me here?" Revis said, I hadn't even realized the doctor and I had entered.
"Um, yes! I am! I'm the one who saved your life!" I responded
"Why?" What? Is he asking why I saved his life? I mean, why wouldn't I? I can't just let someone die!
"Uh, what?"
"Why did you 'save' me?" He seemed to have an annoyed expression, which was weird.
"Uh… because I didn't want you to die…?"
"I did."
An awkward silence filled the room. I had no idea how to respond to that! He was committing suicide! And I stopped him! I had no idea if what I did was wrong or right! I mean, I saved his life, but he wanted to die!
"Uh… you're saying… you were trying to die…?"
"Yes, why else would I fall in the fountain and not get out?"
Oh man, I'm so stupid, of course, if he wasn't trying to kill himself he would've just crawled out.
"U-um… if you don't mind me asking… why were you trying to kill yourself…?"
Then, his expression instantly changed, from a mixture of confusion and annoyance, to sadness.
"I… it's because… my… my family… they…" tears welled in his eyes, and I immediately felt bad for asking.
"If you don't want to say… that's fine…"
"No… no… I really should…"
"Ok… well… take your time…"
"We were attacked… there was a Flareon at the door… I had never seen him before… and… my dad answered the door… he was a Leafeon… he was incinerated… then the house started burning… I was the only one to make it out…"
I had no idea how to respond to that, I mean, he's the only one left in his family! It all made sense, though, why he tried to kill himself.
"Oh… that's… that's horrible…"
After that, he just looked to the floor, obviously still upset. But then, I got an idea.
"hey, if you still need a home, I might be able to convince my parents to let you stay with us!"
"No, I'm a tribal, I need to go back, and establish a new life for myself."
"You're… a… o-oh… but, but, how can you survive out there!? You're not an adult yet! And what if that Flareon is still out there, and wants to finish the job!?"
"You know nothing about how our lives work! I will manage just fine at my age!"
"Actually, I do know how tribals work, we have a class in school all about it!" I, of course, scored highly in it, just like all my other classes. Well, except for this one time, we had to do a project about how our lives would be if we were tribals, and I forgot that they have kids at such a young age, and I completely left out the fact that I would probably have one, and my teacher, Mrs. Ajah, was not happy, and gave me a 60! A 60! Just for forgetting that 1 smaaaaaall detail! Huh? Oh right! Got distracted again!
"That doesn't matter! I'll… I'll just…" he sighed "Fine… I'll come live with you…"
After that, I was told visiting hours were up, and waved to Revis, though he didn't wave back, but, to be fair, I'm not sure he knew what waving was. After I got outside, I realized that it was late, like, really late, so I had to rush home, to tell my parents about what happened, and probably get scolded for being out so late.
And that's a wrap! So, how did you like chapter 2? It was good, right? I hope so.
Anyway, today I'm gonna touch on tribals and having children, since it was mentioned in the chapter, and it's actually kinda lengthy, and has to do with a few other concepts. So basically, tribals don't actually live in tribes, they live in families, which is purely made up of a mom, dad, and children. Now, when a boy grows to the ripe age of 192 (their age is measured in "moons" which is the time between full moons), their parents tend to use them to improve relationships with other families, meaning, because starting at age 192, girls start looking to reproduce… the parents of the boy usually end up having the boy satisfy those desires. Usually, the boy never sees the child again. However, tribals do end up in actual romantic relationships with others, and when that happens, they do become mates, and usually have a second/third/whatever it is for the girl, child. And do usually spend the rest of their lives together. In Revis's case, he was his mom's first child, then she met his dad, and they became mates. However, this almost always does not mean Revis thought of his dad any less as his dad. Finally, just in case you're curious, Revis is around 200 moons, and Tetra is 16 years old (civilians use years for age).
