Chapter 3, Somebody interrupted
Misaka Mikoto was currently at Tokiwadai middle school. She was looking out of the window and was watching some student's conversation because she was bored on class.
She was lost in thoughts and didn't listen to the teacher.
"Misaka Mikoto!" The teacher shouted her name.
Misaka looked up.
She was calling her for quite a lot time. She saw that everybody was looking at her.
"If you pay that much attention to the class, then you should answer to this question." The teacher said.
"Sorry, what was the question?" Misaka asked.
"How much country does the river Danube flow through?" She repeated the question that Misaka didn't hear.
"10 countries: Romania, Hungary, Austria, Serbia, Germany-"
"Okay, that's enough, but please pay attention to the class next time."
The following classes were also boring.
Misaka's day was an especially uneventful day.
Kuroko and Uiharu were both busy with the judgement, Saten was studying for her test which will be on tomorrow, she know about it since a week, but she left it for the last seconds.
In her boredom she was wandering around at the school garden, lost in her thoughts, as usual.
Then suddenly she realized she was completely alone on the streets.
She looked around, but nobody was there except her.
She started to walk to the exit gate, where something was strange. The peoples who were there looked like zombies.
She walked closer to a girl and touched her shoulder. There was no reaction at all. She took off her hand from the girl's shoulder, then she looked into her eyes, and saw that star…
She already knew what was going on, but she didn't want to deal with it, so she went to her favorite café, where she often go with Shirai Kuroko, her roommate.
When she opened the door, she realized that, the employee was also a starred eyed. Now she became furious, finally she had time to go to a café, and this welcomes her…
"I really had enough of this day...I have to find Shokuhou…"
She went to find her, but everything was empty. She started to give up, then she saw a girl she was literally the first person she've met on her way.
She took a closer look at her, but she didn't let the girl see her. A star was in the girl's eyes like the café employees.
The girl was walking around at the gate of a building like she was a guard for something or somebody.
'Yeah, I see Shokuhou has a personal bodyguard too. If she really do not want somebody to know what is she doing, then she got involved in or created some serious trouble…'
Misaka waited until the girl did not payed attention and she sneaked into the building by using one of the windows.
She got in but she heard footsteps though the hall, so she hid behind a sofa.
A few seconds later somebody walked into the room. She stopped in the doorway, and she couldn't see any suspicious things, therefore she went out of the room.
Misaka waited until she couldn't hear the steps. She stood up and looked around the room.
It was an office, everything was dark, it was like a haunted house. Her day was starting to get interesting...
There were two doors in the room and she chose to go by the right one.
She haven't been in this building before, so she desperately needed a map of this place. She already had an idea where it could be.
On the hallway she found the stairs and went down on it. She instantly saw the entrance door then on the right side she saw the security room.
The room was closed from the insides, she used her power on it to unclock it.
She managed to get In the room, it was dark as well. She only saw the screens lights. She started searching for the map.
When she found it she was thinking of the place where Shokuhou would be. She also looked into the security cams and she saw a girl who wasn't wearing the uniform of the elite schools. She seemed lost and nervous. Then the security cameras turned dark and she couldn't find more recordings.
The girl had to be one of Shokohou's guest.
She finally came to that decision that Shokuhou have to be in one of the conference rooms. There was two of them so her chances were 50-50.
She chose the closest one. On her way to the room she managed to avoid meeting the girls.
She stopped in front of the doors and she started to eavesdropping, but it was completely silent.
She kicked the door open, but nobody was there. When she did it the whole building started echoing, and she was sure everyone could hear it. Now they are definitely coming here.
'I haven't thought this through...'
She quickly took out her map and she found the second conference room.
To her bad it was on the other side of the building. But there was a good thing too, they couldn't hear her loud noise from there.
She ran fast thought the hallways. Now she didn't really care if it was too loud, because they already knew she was there.
When she finally saw the hallway which lead to the second conference room she turned and kicked the door open like she did with the other one, but it was even louder.
She was completely sure Shokuhou was here.
It was dark but she recognized Shokuhou who was sitting near the teacher's desk, looking at her.
"Shokuhou, what do you up to again?!"
The girl's voice was familiar for Aisaka, but she doesen't have a good memory.
"Ara-Ara~ Misaka-san also arrived~" said Shokuhou with an annoying voice.
'Misaka…? It's familiar….' Aisaka thought.
She remembered the girl from yesterday who kicked the vending machine.
'Yeah, she's Misaka…Why does she kick everything…?'
"Can you answer my question?" Misaka shouted back with an arrogant tone.
Behind her Shokuhous "friends " appeared with an exhausted looking.
'She really that much faster than them?' Aisaka thought still not understanding the situation.
"Oh, she is Aisaka-" Shokuhou started but Misaka interrupted her.
"I don't care, answer my question first." Misaka ordered.
'Ouch, that one hurts. Yesterday she seemed so kind and friendly…'
"Oh, Misaka-san I still not introduced my guest to you, but you already shout at her? You are so rude~… Aisaka-chan it's my pleasure to introduce you to this childish and impolite girl: she is Misaka Mikoto. And this polite and definitely not childish girl, is Aisaka Himitsu."
Misaka was looking at Aisaka with a confused look. Then she asked her a question:
" …Have we met somewhere…?"
"Hello, I'm also happy to meet you again." Aisaka replied faking a smile, but she already had enough of them.
"Oh, so you two have already met! We should skip the introduction then, but Misaka-san should apologies for interrupting our private conversation."
Meanwhile Shokuhou pressed her remote control and the girls chased after Misaka went away. Misaka started to walk toward us slowly thought the stairs.
"I have nothing to apologize for." Misaka said
For Aisaka it doesn't seemed like they had a good relationship with each other.
"You aren't acting like a level 5 ojou-sama like you expected to~" Shokuhou told of her.
"I don't really need an etiquette advice from YOU." Misaka answered instantly.
"Wait, YOU are the railgun?!" Aisaka asked turning to her way.
Misaka was already infront of the teacher's desk. Currently she was standing next to Aisaka. She looked at her:
"Are you teaming up with HER?" She asked furiously.
"Of course not, are you an idiot?"
"Well, it is not completely a "teaming up" but I think Aisaka-chan don't want her secret to be known." Shokuhou said.
At the word of secret Aisaka tured her attention to her and she almost froze her blood.
"What secret?" Misaka asked.
One of Shokuhous ''friends" brought a chair to Misaka, but she didn't seem to stay more longer, therefore she didn't sat down.
"You have nothing to do with it." Aisaka answered before Shokuhou could tell her secret to the railgun.
"Do you know who are you talking to?" Misaka asked with a scary look. She was pretty angry.
"In the words of Shokuhou: A really childish and impolite ojou-sama." Aisaka said without thinking.
She realized that next to Misaka's head a spark appeared.
Aisaka shivered, because she knew what the spark will become and then it must hurt if it'd hit her.
Before it could hit her, she quickly looked around at the room and she was thinking about what she should do.
Her eyes stopped at Shokuhou's now cold tea.
She started to boil the tea with her power to make a fog, a few seconds later she couldn't see anything because of the vapor and it was really hot too.
She quickly jumped off her chair and she fortunately haven't been hit by the lightning.
She ran out of the room, thought the door.
In the fog Misaka barely saw anything, but she was able to hear that the girl had already escaped.
When the fog disappeared Aisaka wasn't there anymore.
"What is this hurry? This amount of lightning would just electroshock you a little bit." Misaka thought as she looked at the way the girl had escaped.
"Aren't you going after her?" Shokuhou asked her.
"Why would I?"
"I don't know, you are the one who scared her away, not me."
Shokuhou looked at her now empty cup. Then she started to brush her hair, which was ruined because of their ''show''.
"She shouldn't had to be here at the first place." Misaka answered.
"I just invited her for a tea."
"If you invite anybody for a "Tea'' it will never have a good ending." Misaka said still looking at the door.
"Yeah, sure…But if you really interested about all of what happened today, then I suggest you should go after her."
Now Misaka looked at Shokuhou:
"... It was in your plan that I'll come here, Am I right?"
"Maybe yes, maybe no. It'll stay a secret." Shokuhou giggled.
"It's enough for today…"
Misaka started to walk out of the room leaving Shokuhou alone with her clique members.
While she was leaving she didn't heard but Shokuhou said something:
"You'll go after her anyway…"
Aisaka didn't knew where she was at the moment, because she was running crisscross.
She was completely lost. She've never seen a large building like this in her life.
Suddenly she bumped into somebody. ("Again…") She fell of then she looked up.
"Oh, nooo…."
Misaka Mikoto was standing in front of her with crossed arms. She said one word:
"You…."
She was afraid of the ending of the sentence.
"…are really an idiot."
