Chapter 4, my first fight
"You are really an idiot." Misaka informed the girl who have bumped into her for the second time this week.
She had looked up at Misaka with fear in her eyes, than she froze. She went silent for a few seconds.
Misaka sighed and helped her up from the floor. She then started walking out of the building.
For a moment Aisaka stared at her, then she slowly started walking after her.
Soon she reached Misaka and started talking:
"I thought I was going to die."
Misaka wasn't focusing on her because she was thinking about, why Shokuhou'd invited her.
"Umm…Do you hear me…?" Aisaka asked.
"Why were you with Shokuhou?"
"She just sent her friend after me. They are really convincing..."
"Friend, huh?" Misaka asked with a smile.
Aisaka also smiled at her.
"If we hadn't met in this situation, we'd have been friends." Misaka thought.
"Do you know Shokuhou?" Aisaka asked.
"Sadly…"
They have already reached the exit of the building and they entered the streets.
Aisaka was following Misaka so she thought she'll escort her to the gates.
"Sorry to ask, but you are really the railgun?" she asked Misaka.
"You're even more stupid than I imagined." Misaka giggled.
The poor girl didn't get what she've said, so she felt sorry for her.
"Yes."
"Oh...then I'd rather be friends with you than enemies." She laughed nervously.
"You made a great fog back there, what is your power?"
"I can manipulate the change of physical condition."
"It's an interesting ability, I never seen an ability like this before."
Aisaka was smiling nervously, like she has been hiding something from Misaka.
"What type of secrets did Shokuhou talked about back in the building?"
The girl froze because of this question.
She was waiting for Misaka to forget it.
"The fact that I asked her help, to solve one of my problems." Aisaka said as she started to walk again.
'it's suspicious, who would ask help from that girl? There are a lot of other espers who have the same ability as Shokuhou and they are more trustworthy than she is. If Aisaka needs a level 5 she must be in a serious trouble or she don't want me to know the truth.'
"Why did you need her help?" Misaka asked
" 'Cause I wanted to get revenge on someone, when we first met I was also chasing him." She answered directly.
Her story seemed fake, but Misaka asked a last question, before they reached the gates of the school garden.
"And to this why you needed Shokuhou's help who is extremely not trustworthy."
"She is a level 5 and I cannot deal with a powerful esper on my own. That's why I needed her help." Aisaka said calmly.
At this moment they reached the gates and stopped.
"You should never ask Shokuhou's help again, she's more dangerous than she looks like."
'I knew that she has been lying from the start, but if she don't want to tell me, then I'll find out by myself.'
"I promise, so in the future I will ask you to help me instead." She said while she showed Misaka her phone number. "Here is my number."
Misaka also took out her phone and they changed numbers.
Aisaka said goodbye then she started walking toward the bus stop, Misaka also started walking back.
'As I know Shokuhou there's no way she'd help her in this "little" thing, there has to be something more important, than a revenge...Aisaka didn't looked like she was afraid of her and Shokuhou was a little careful with her…Something is not right...'
As Aisaka was walking toward the bus stop she was thinking about her day.
'There is a chance that the railgun would be a great ally, but I'm not sure if it would be good to get her into trouble as well. I want to help Yui but I don't want anybody to be in danger because of me.' Aisaka thought. 'I'm visiting her today.'
Aisaka saw that the bus comes 16 minutes later so she started walking home, because she didn't want to wait.
'The railgun didn't looked like I was expecting, I thought she was taller than me…' Aisaka laughed. 'I didn't find her as untouchable as I did in the past… Yui always talked about her…' Aisaka became sad from the memory.
'I think she didn't belive my fake story, she's too smart for that. Tokiwadai is really something…But it's strange that she didn't ask more questions….rich girls are weird.'
Suddenly a bullet flew close to her head. She looked on her left side and she saw a white masked and black cloaked figure.
It shot at her way again, she ran into the closest alley. The figure was moving really fast, it'd have killed her if it reached her.
'How can it move so fast?!'
Aisaka looked back and used herability: She quickly melted the concrete then she made a wall from it which closed the way behind her.
She stopped, because she was really tired from running and using her power.
The silence was suspicious, she couldn't hear that the figure would try to destroy the wall she created.
For some time she stared at the wall then she realized something, she heard quiet footsteps then she looked up to the top of the wall. 'Oh shit…'
Her attacker suddenly jumped to the top of the wall.
'Oh, now I'm in a serious trouble…I have never fought with a real enemy before... Okay, calm down, first thing that I learnt on my training was to observe my enemy.'
She looked at it and she realized she fucked up. 'It's not even a human… It's a robot…' She kept running.
'Second rule: observe your position, well this is not a big help! Third rule-'
Then the robot reached her, she turned toward it, it aimed its gun at her, before it could shot her, she melted the bullet with her power which was close to hurt her.
She used the dropping water which was from the roofs of the houses (It was raining yesterday night.) She made her well known fog from that water that she made back in the conference room.
The robot didn't see anything from the fog, but she got used to it. She took away its weapon and then kicked the robot like Misaka did with the vending machine yesterday.
Soon the robot stood up and most of the fog has already disappeared. The robot's palm somehow opened and Aisaka saw something dangerous coming toward her.
She managed to avoid the attack and instead of her, it hit the trash can behind her. The range of the explode pushed her to a building's wall, it was hard for her to breathe because of this sudden action. She didn't feel like any of her bones have broken.
She quickly stood up and started running again, then she suddenly saw the school garden's walls.
She realized that Misaka could beat it within one second using her powers.
She took out her phone from her pocket and started searching for her number to call her. But, when Misaka finally picked up the phone the robot attacked her again. She luckily avoided to die, but her phone fell to the ground and broke.
'Oh my god…now I need to buy a new one…I don't have the money for that…' Then she realized this is not her biggest problem right now.
She looked at the robot, she couldn't melt it so she melted the ground under it, using her ability, which made the robot stuck in the concrete.
Somehow the robot managed to remove his legs from it's ''body'', and ''grew'' itself new legs.
It raised its hands, but before the robot could attack Aisaka with another shot a random iron piece hit it and made it fly a few meters.
A lot of parts fall from the robot when it landed on the ground. Surprisingly the robot stood up and walked toward her, then suddenly a lighting finally made it stopped.
She know who her savior was, and this person was coming toward her, with an annoyed look.
"If you call me at least don't hung up on me." Misaka said.
"Thanks for saving me." Aisaka said while she didn't really meant it.
Misaka rolled her eyes then she walked to the robot's collapsed form and took of its mask.
Under it there was a faceless head shape. They could hear a quiet beeping sound, Misaka slowly turned the mask to it's other side while it was still in her hand. Her eyes widened and she suddenly threw it and stepped back, but before it could have land it exploded in the air.
The robot was completely destroyed from the explosion, luckily Misaka just fell to the ground. Aisaka quickly went to her and helped her up. Misaka didn't looked surprised, but Aisaka did.
"What the hell was that?!" Aisaka asked a little shocked.
"This my ordinary Friday afternoon…" She sighed.
"Well I haven't had experienced anything like that before."
"I'm not surprised about that, you don't have much battle experience. But that melting idea was pretty good."
"Well…thank you?"
"Do you have any idea who wants to kill you?"
"To be honest I have none." Aisaka answered.
As she saw Misaka was really thinking about something, then she came up with an idea:
"We should go to the judgement."
"Why?" Aisaka asked furiously.
"We have to know where this robot has come from. There's a chance that it has already appeared before, we can investigate in the judgement office."
"I don't want to go there, they won't let us use their resources, they will just take the case and do nothing about it." Aisaka said.
Misaka was a little offended, but she answered:
"Calm down, I know some people at there."
"Well…do what you want."
They started walking to the judgement office.
'...I'm curious about those people she mentioned…' Aisaka thought.
They didn't see but a girl stood there all along, with stars in her eyes…
Shokuhou was about to walk out from the conference room when the girl she sent after Aisaka came back
She raised her remote and she got the girl's memories about what she has seen.
"Oh, Aisaka-chan has been beaten by a robot, but she is better than what I imagined for a starter...Looks like Misaka-san finally showed up, I didn't know that they are that close friends!...Oh, poor Misaka-san almost got exploded by a clown~….Judgement, huh?''
On their way to the judgement office Aisaka wanted to start a conversation with Misaka but she never answered so Aisaka gave up the trying.
There was a girl came out from the Judgement office. She had short black hair and glasses. She looked a little older than them, she also had a judgement arm-band. She greeted Misaka with a smile:
"Oh, Misaka-san, I didn't expect you to be here today." She said.
"Yeah, I need to speak with Kuroko." Misaka said.
"They are not really available right now, because they are working on an important case."
"I know, Kuroko informed me that they have a bunch of work, but I've something important to tell her." Misaka said.
"I understand….and you are…?" She finally realized Aisaka has been there as well.
"Aisaka Himitsu." She said smilingly.
"Konori Mii…. Do you go to same school as Uiharu and Saten?" Konori asked looking at her uniform.
She remembered the two girl from today.
"Umm…yes?" Aisaka answered. 'They know each other?'
'I knew it!' Misaka Thought.
"I have to go now, good luck girls." She said as she went away.
They walked up at the stairs which was leading toward the office.
"Judgement 177 branch office..." Aisaka read.
Aisaka was a bit nervous of the meeting but she kept going after Misaka.
Misaka opened the door without knocking which Aisaka thought was a little rude behavior. Inside the office there was two girls, she recognized one of them from her school but the other girl was a stranger to her. Both of them was busy, they also didn't notice their arrival until Misaka greated them:
"Hello!" Misaka said loudly.
Then the girl Aisaka haven't met before, who had 2 pigtails looked up from the computer and walked toward them.
"Onee-sama who is this girl?" She asked.
'Onee-sama??' Aisaka thought.
"Um…she is…"
"I'm Aisaka Himitsu." She said still nervously. 'Today I needed to introduce myself to a lot of people…'
"I am Shirai Kuroko, this is MY onee-sama, anyway why are you standing that close to her? And what type of relationship are you in with MY onee-sama?"
"Am I not allowed to?" Aisaka asked raising one of her eyebrow.
Then Uiharu stood up from the desk and walked to them.
"It's good to see you again Aisaka-san…You and Misaka-san know each other?" Uiharu asked with a surprised face expression.
Misaka was also surprised that Uiharu know Aisaka.
But before anyone could say anything, someone opened the door and shouted with a whining voice:
"UIHARU HELP ME, I DON'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING!"
