Chapter 2

A man laid in bed, in a very deep sleep. It looked as if he was knocked out cold. Bottles of rum rested on his stand next to his lamp. His bedsheets were all over the place, he was lying lazily; could fall off the bed if he moved a bit more.

*BRZZT*

*BRZZT*

His alarm clock went off. 9:20 A.M.

"Huh", he said with a croaky voice, "five more minutes, please", placing the pillow on top of his head, drowning out the sound. Some minutes later, he admits defeat and turns it off. Still lying in bed, he stares at his ceiling, letting out a strong sigh; he sat on the side of his bed. He inspects his room; it was still dark; the curtains were still closed. He rubbed his eyes and got up. Upon opening them, a bright blinding light pierced the room.

He opened the window to see a busy Tokyo-03. The city was bustling with life; planes coming in and out, cars running the streets, the trains moving on schedule and people walking or biking to fulfill their daily tasks. Skyscrapers that reached the clouds, all decorated with the flag of the People's Republic of Nippon hanging from their sides, a red banner with a white gear, and a piece of grain in the middle. He had the best view of the city.

The man walked to the bathroom and began brushing his teeth. He did his daily routine: wake up, brush teeth, eat breakfast, and leave. He combed his hair after washing it, making sure no part stayed up. After eating breakfast, the man got his keys, his backpack, and his NERV ID. As he was about to leave, he stopped right on his tracks and gave a 180-degree turn. "I knew I forgot something," he said in a softly spoken manner.

He walked to his dinner table and picked up his SDAT. After retrieving it, he went out his door and locked it. As he walked towards the elevator, he put on his headphones and began to play TRACK 25.

*BEEP*

*BEEP*

*BEEP*

*BE-CRASH*

That was the last sound the alarm made before Asuka threw it against the wall. "Goddammit, I need to get more beauty sleep," she cursed. Her room was pitch black, the only light source came from beneath the door, while littles cracks of light filtered in from the closed window curtains where light slipped through either way. Then, after some minutes, she got out of bed.

The sound of falling water came from the shower. She was making sure she had her A-game, for today she would meet the Dummkopf. She exited the shower with a towel wrapped around her and headed for the closet.

"Showtime", she grinned as she dropped the towel in front of her closet, revealing her naked put on some dark blue jeans with a black belt, a white v-shaped shirt, a black leather jacket with a red ribbon in one of the pockets, and finally, some short black boots. Not only that, she decided to fix her hair by creating a ponytail with a red band. Asuka wanted to go all out with this extravagant style, for first impressions are always key to success. "Damn, I look good. I knew the leather jacket would look good on me", she touted while admiring herself in the mirror.

Asuka exited her room and went down to the lobby. She began to look around for somewhere to eat, she still hadn't forgotten Kajis little stunt, which left her starving on the plane ride. She looked around the hotel grounds, hoping to see anything related to food. She didn't know how to read Kanji; thus, her little adventure would become abandoned as she felt nothing there was food-related. Big hotel yet no restaurants; five stars my ass. In the corner of her eye, she saw something that looked vaguely food-related. A store that had a neon sign in the shape of a Ramen Bowl. She knew jack shit about Kanji, but she knew one thing: Ramen Bowls meant restaurants.

"Ahhh, damn that was good", she exclaimed, hands on her stomach. She had eaten two cheese-filled omelets, hash browns, with bacon strips alongside some fresh orange juice. However, she wanted something else: a Coffee. She got up and asked for Cappuccino. She held it in her hands, the warmth that came off it, it made her feel like she was living a normal life and when she returned to her table, Kaji was in the other seat. So much for a glimpse into a normal life, but it doesn't matter; I wasn't made for such a living.

She sat down in the chair she had previously occupied. She looked at Kaji, seeing his new wardrobe: a blue button shirt, red tie, black jeans, and brown shoes. Are you a real estate agent or a scientist Kaji, Jesus Christ.

"Well, somebody was hungry," he said with a grin on his face. Asuka had left nothing on her plates, and Kaji couldn't blame her. She hasn't had that much to eat in her life, only in the USA did she experience real food and not scraps of the regime.

"Well, you left me starving on that plane ride", she responded with her arms crossed, head looking to her right.

He chuckled, "I guess you are right".

"So, how did you sleep? I hope you're ready for today, Pilot-02"

"Like a baby and yes, I am ready as I'll ever be. They don't call me the Mighty Asuka Langley Soryu for nothing", she said with prowess; however, the girl was incredibly nervous. Not only is she piloting in enemy territory, but she had a partner, she had never had one back in Moscow, even if she were asked for support, she would refuse. She had always gone solo into her fights, always winning out of sheer determination and strength, proving she didn't need anyone by her side, but now she had to settle with something she hated.

"Well, I better get going", Kaji said as he got up from his chair, coffee in hand, "Contact me if anything happens. Remember, the boy is supposed to pick you up, try and be nice".

"I'll try, though if he pisses me off, I'll punch him," she said jokingly. Kaji laughed at the joke.

"See you at HQ Asuka." He waved goodbye at Asuka as he went into the rotating doors of the hotel lobby, disappearing into the busy streets of Tokyo-03.

Asukas smile quickly turned into a frown as she sighed. I don't care whether that boy is a privileged bitch or a massive pussy, he will not pull me down.

She looked at the clock.

10:30 A.M.

"That Baka is taking his sweet fucking time. Been waiting since 9:50, and he still hasn't shown up", she whispered to herself in an irritated tone, as if she were any better with arriving on time.

"Asuka?", a man said with a silvery voice.

She turned her head as quickly as possible to stare at the man. Medium-length straight brown hair, grey-blue eyes, skinny, wearing a checkered brown, black and white striped button shirt, with a black jacket covering part of it, wearing blue jeans that had missing color leaving white and gray marks on it, and was wearing white shoes with shoelaces. It was him.

"I guess you've waited for a while, sorry for the wait. Traffic, you know", he said with a sheepish laugh and right hand on the back of his head.

"About damn time. You were going to make me wait an eternity. I should've taken the bus", she said with taut coming from her mouth, arms crossed.

"Like I said sorry."

"God do you always apologize, you truly are an idiot."

Shinji shrugged, giving Asuka a well what-can-be-done-about-it look.

Asuka sighed defeatedly and put her hand on her face, covering her eyes. "Whatever, where the fuck is your car. I would like to at least make it in time".

They both walked into the multi-story parking lot. Japan had changed a lot since its early days. Technology had shaped not only the city but transportation as well. Many people could now have affordable transportation, best of all they were all green. Most vehicles were electric or solar-powered. Though this was at a cost; only certain people could have one, based on a social score, and work position. Since Shinji's father was the leader, he could get one without any issue, the rules don't apply to those above.

"Here it is", Shinji said as he pointed the car keys at the car. It was a blue Lamborghini Countach variant LP400. The doors opened upwards, and both got in, driving out of the parking onto the streets of Tokyo-03.

Asuka looked at the countryside of Japan out of the car's window, her eyes fixated on the clouds, and mountains outside of the city. For such an idiot the car was comfortable. It had a terracotta-colored leather interior with a curved seat, it resembled a catching glove. The dashboard was made from a soft light brown material called suede, it had a bunch of compartments and had a blue carpet floor. It had a manual stick, and the kid knew how to use it. What a nightmare, I can't even drive manual.

Shinji looked at her and wondered if he could talk to her if he found the courage that is; however, he lost that first battle. "So, Baka Shinji, I see you left some things on the floor of my seat, don't think I didn't see it." she said while still facing the window, "I am guessing you aren't the organized type".

Shinji while reducing speed, looked at the floor of her seat and saw three bottles of beer on the ground, he quickly got nervous at the fact he left them there, fuck there go my first impressions. "Oh, sorry, I usually don't leave trash in the car; I must have forgotten to-".

"Beer huh, I am more of a vodka girl", Asuka said modulated, looking at Shinji with a smile, and winking at him. She wanted to see his reaction, plus she was getting bored of looking outside the window.

Shinji looked in surprise and put on a sheepish smile. "Oh really, I-I-I didn't know", he said nervous but then he continued with more confidence, "I am guessing being in the USSR did that to you".

"Yep", Asuka responded proudly.

"Speaking of which, uhm, how many Angels did you fight back in Moscow".

Asuka found offense at the answer, didn't he know he was talking to the Mighty Asuka Langley. He could have at least read about her before throwing bullshit at her. "For your information Shinji Ikari, if you ask me such a question as dumb as that again you're going have a bad time", she said with a punishing voice, it felt like she was scolding him, and to be fair, she was.

"Oh sorry, I-I, uhm…", he tried to articulate but couldn't produce anything.

"God you're pathetic", she said with irritation, she was getting tired of his shyness and introvert antics. She continued looking outside the window, "I fought eight Angels back in Moscow. How about you, did your little ass get kicked while fighting them?".

Shinji had a surprised look. He didn't expect Asuka to talk about such a thing, not after her response to his question. He wasn't particularly good with people, especially when it came to talking.

"Well, uhm, if I remember correctly, I've fought, ehh probably five angels, some were with my sister, but the majority were me", he said, face focused on the road, trying to not look at her.

"Looks like I have the lead when it comes to Angel killing", she gave him a smirk, that smirk proved she was better than him and she wanted him to know that. "Shinji, I'll tell you this, I am only going to be your partner because I am the best, and I have no other choice. As of now, I say what we do, and I swear to God if you so as much give me an order; I am shoving it right back up your ass, got it!".

Shinji gulped as he looked at Asuka, she was pointing at him and had an angry expression. How can such a pretty girl be such a bitch.

Shinji sighed. "Fine Asuka".

"Good. The first thing I order you to do is put on some fucking music. I am dying of boredom."

"Well, I have this," Shinji took a cassette from the dashboard, "it's a Queen song, you know Freddy Mercury?".

"Know him? You idiot, Queen is one of my favorite bands, of course, I know him. Put it on." Asuka said with enthusiasm, something Shinji hadn't notice in her before. He placed it in his car's cassette player. On the screen, displayed in blue neon was the name of the song: Crazy Little Thing Called Love.

The car went through a tunnel and entered an elevator where Shinji parked the car. The loud thump sound of the elevator went off, as it started descending. As the elevator began descending, the light of something underground began to blind Asuka, when she reopened her eyes, she was met with humanity's last line of defense against the Angels: The Geofront.

"Holy shit, I knew the GeoFront was big, but I didn't think it was this big." She said with amazement.

"Yeah, it was found by NERV after the Second Impact, practically a year later. My father was the mastermind of the search after his revolution in 60. It now serves as humanity's most advanced control station in the world", Shinji said proudly.

Buildings, control towers, military watchtowers, and above on the ceiling, most of the building of Tokyo-03. Shinji told her they would drop in case of angel attacks, preventing damage from happening. A city of the future. Shinji kept driving on the roads of the Geofront after unloading from the elevator, they finally reach the parking of the main building: a black pyramid. "Well, here we are, NERV HQ", Shinji said, opening his car door after unbuckling his seatbelt. Asuka got out as well, and they headed inside.

They traveled through the long hallways of the facility, going on elevators and conveyors belt that was high above the ground with many more around them. "It should be around here, but. No, maybe I took a wrong turn, or", Shinji pondered to himself, confused by the fact he was sure they be close to the Central Dogma Area by now.

"Don't tell me we are lost. I can't believe you Baka Shinji, first day and I am already late", she said with an angry tone. "Uhm mm, we aren't lost, I-I-I just took a wrong elevator", he said trying to defuse the situation.

"There you two are", an unfamiliar voice said behind them.

Asuka looked at the woman, she was wearing a blue blouse with a white lab coat covering it, some black jeans, and had tappel slip-on. She looked like she was in her mid-40s, with blonde hair, a mole close to her left eye.

"You got lost again, didn't you Shinji", she said to him.

"No, Mrs. Akagi, I just took the wrong elevator, that's all", he said very nervously.

She looked at Asuka. "So, you're the new pilot, Dr. Ritsuko Akagi, Head of the NERV Technological and Science Department," she said while giving her hand to Asuka.

"Asuka Langley Soryu, Pilot-02. A pleasure to meet you", she met her hand, and a handshake followed.

She looked at Asuka with a smile. "I hope Shinji here didn't cause too many problems in getting you here. He's been here all of his life, but he always finds a way to get lost."

"Hey!", he exclaimed trying to deflect the accusations.

"Yeah, the idiot got me running in circles", Asuka said with a sneering face.

All three of them began walking in the correct direction, leaving the conveyors belts, and making it to the main elevator which took them close to the EVA Pens. Akagi looked behind her shoulder to make eye contact with Asuka and then continued looking forward. "Do you know of NERVS history, Pilot Soryu?", she said without making eye contact.

"I only know a little, stuff I read during my time in training", Asuka said with surprise, why is she asking me about this?

"Ah yes, but that is Moscow's history, we have our own Ms. Soryu." Akagi finished her sentence as if she were taunting the new pilot.

Keep it to yourself bitch. Asuka felt insulted as to why she was being asked such a dumb question. She tried to play off her anger by following her lead. "Ah well no, Dr. Akagi, could you please tell me what you mean", Asuka seethed, failing at her attempt to appear un-sarcastic.

Akagi looked at her with an expression of curiosity. "NERV Central or NERV TOKYO-03", Akagi iterated while looking at Asuka over her shoulder, "was founded one year before the Second Impact. Its main goal was technological and biological advances… for war of course."

She paused for a bit so that they could get off the elevator now arriving at the main observation deck. "With the impact in full swing, the USA and USSR lost their technological abilities; however, we were able to keep expanding Japan's own. Obviously, our form of government got us connected to the USSR, however, this didn't mean NERV MOSCOW and NERV CENTRAL were good friends. Good old bureaucracy", she smirked, and continued, "still, in the end, we got what we wanted from all of this…"

She turned on the lights of the giant chamber which was below the observation deck. The lights came on, revealing two giant humanoid behemoths: EVA-01 and EVA-02. EVA-01, covered in green, and purple body armor, its head was shaped of that of a Kabuto, traditional samurai helmet, its whole body was modeled as if though it was a samurai. Eva-02, on the other hand, was covered in a dark red, like blood, its face had 4 menacing green orbs, most probably its eyes. It had a long chin and horn. In the middle, it had a hammer and sickle. That was the embodiment of the proletariat, the most iconic symbol of communism. Both were submerged in a red wine liquid; there they were both docked.

"Well, all we need now is the Major to arrive and we can commence testing", Akagi said while looking at the EVAS, she then turned around and looked at Shinji. "Speaking of Major, have you seen her Shinji?"

"Uhm no, not in all this morning. Even after getting lost, I didn't see her anywhere", Shinji replied, his hand on his chin trying to think if he had at least spotted her during their entry.

The doctor sighed to herself. "Well, she better hurry the fuck up; the Commander doesn't like it when things are not done in time".

In the big green hallways of the facility, the only sounds that could be heard were the mechanism of doors closing and opening, footsteps from guards and NERV employees, the rustling of paper, and the sound of vibrations from the energy stations. In a room, a strange sound came from it, different from everything else. Papers falling, then office equipment hitting the ground, it sounded like a struggle, but then those noises transformed into something of that of human pleasure: moaning. The feeling that overwhelmed a human being into driving its most wished desire for the unification with another.

"How about I touch here", a man said with a sensual tone.

"Oh, you're going to make me wet", a woman said while moaning, she was under the effects of the orgasmic euphoria being provided by her male companion, "keep going, I've missed this".

The two kissed as the man drove his hand deeper into the women's lower parts threatening her womanhood with the sweet release of euphoric pleasure, she began to moan even louder, wanting more. Their rapid breathing and moans were getting faster and louder. Sweat covered their faces, as both enjoyed the comfort of privacy to relish the joy of passion.

*RING*

*RING*

*RING*

"Shit", the woman said pissed off at the fact she was being interrupted, "what is it? Uh hu, yes. No, I was going…THEY ALREADY THERE, SHIT ILL BE THERE IN A SEC." She hanged up the phone and rushed to get her bra and shirt from the floor. The man looked at her run, she didn't even have her pants on or even her panties for that matter.

"What's with the hurry", the man said disappointed with the result, "I was having fun. Fun we haven't had in some years".

"Not now Kaji, the pilots arrived a few minutes ago, I have to leave", she said as she placed the last pieces of clothing on herself, completing her style with her beret.

"Fine, Major Misato."

"You do your shit", she said with authority, but then changed her tone to a more intimate one, "and it's Lieutenant Colonel, Mr. Kaji. We resume training at my house". She winked at Kaji.

"Fine," he said, "see you later". They both kissed and she left, running into the hallway as she left Kajis view.

"I am here!", Misato proclaimed as she entered the room. Akagi was waiting for her arrival for 10 extra minutes before she decided to get the kids into the entry plugs and begin the test otherwise Ikari would have her neck.

"About damn time", Akagi responded with irritation, this wasn't her first tardiness nor would be her last. "The kids are already in the entry plugs, and the test is running".

"Dammit, so I missed the greeting part", Misato responded.

Akagi nodded while looking at Misato with an expressionless face. She looked at Misato, she was fondling with her fingers. What's her problem now, time to break it out of her. She began to walk towards Misato, pinning her against the wall; she glanced at her outfit. A green beret with the PRN symbol on it, a dark green uniform with two pockets on it, and wore a black skirt with black heels. Two red patches on her shoulders showing her rank as Lieutenant colonel, Akagi realized she was mistakenly saying Misato was Major, though that didn't mean shit to her. She squinted at Misato, "You were with him, weren't you?".

Misato began to blush and panicked. ''Ah-h-h, no, I don't know what you are saying. I just got lost, yes I got lost that's all", she said very nervously, smiling at the end.

"I can smell the perfume Misato".

Akagi walked to her chair and looked at the results of the first synchronization. Their rates are high, hopefully, the other two synch test goes well. The General Secretary needs these results to proceed.

Misato clapped her hands and looked at Akagi almost as she was paying respects. "Please don't tell anyone. I know I can trust you". Misato said nervously.

"You know I won't say shit. Plus, better keep your sexy time stories to yourself. Now come over and look at this", Akagi said looking at her with a smile on her face. Misato smiled nervously and walked over to Akagi and began looking at the results as the two finals synchronization had just finished.

Akagi began to look around to see if anybody was listening. She then whispered to Misato, "It was Kaji, wasn't it?".

"I thought you didn't want to know?", Misato said whispering while grinning at Akagi. "Changed my mind.", she responded.

"Yeah, it was him. Haven't seen him in forever. We lost it back there; it was supposed to be a simple kiss. But...", Akagi looked at Misato, she was looking happy, ready to burst into tears.

''It wasn't", Riu finished for Misato.

"Exactly", Misato chuckled while wiping a tear away with her arm; relieved that her friend finished for her.

Misato then sat in a separate chair and checked the pilots. She finally saw Asuka for the first time through the cameras in the entry plugs. She was wearing a dark red suit with the East German flag on her armband. She wore two red stumps which served as communicators.

Hello Asuka

Peace. Huh, a feeling I never thought to experience again in such a state of mind; only in the LCL could I find it. Piloting this EVA has given me everything, but… do I really want it? To be at peace, where no harm can be done, where no scream can be heard, where no pain can be felt. I don't think people like me will ever find it, no matter how much I lie to myself. I will always be broken, but that won't mean my demise. Broken or not, I do not fall, not yet, not until everyone is at peace.

Asuka opened her eyes to see nothing but darkness, and occasional bubbles of LCL. She felt nice, being there alone, but did she really strive to live in is a curse; tranquility leads to overthinking in Asuka's mind. Making her feel as if her past was taking over again. Suddenly, the Entry Plug opened, and outside was a woman with purple hair. She gave her hand to help pull Asuka out of the Plug. She grabbed it and was thrust out of it.

"Misato, is it?", Asuka asked with uncertainty in her words.

"Yes", Misato replied, "It's finally good to meet you.". She then said in German "Hat er dich hierher gebracht? Wissen Sie, für den Ersatz?". (Did he bring you here? You know, for the replacement?).

"Jawohl", Asuka replied with a yes in her native tongue. It was nice to talk to someone in her language, it reminded her of who she was, and why she was there.

"Irgendwelche Probleme mit ihm?" (Any problems with him?)

Asuka looked at Shinji. He was looking at his Eva and didn't notice Asuka looking at him. He was in a purple and green plug suit, like his Eva color scheme.

'Nein", Asuka replied.

"Das ist gut zu hören. Er ist ein guter Mensch, rede mit ihm. Sie werden es nicht bereuen." (That's good to hear. He is a good person, talk to him. You won't regret it.). Misato looked at Asuka with a smile while winking at her.

"Er ist ein Dummkopf", Asuka replied with irritation.

"I know Asuka but try it. Always try before you talk".

Shinji walked towards Asuka, with amazement on his face. "Wow, Asuka didn't know you spoke German that good", fear-filled his face when he realized what he had just said to Asuka, "Wait I meant to say-" before he could finish Asuka slapped him.

"YOU DIDN'T KNOW I WAS GERMAN. YOU DUMMKOPF, YOU CLEARLY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING.", Asuka said with a ringing voice and a pissed-off expression.

'I am sorry. I-I-I didn't mean to-"

"SHUT UP, DON'T EVEN FINISH THAT SENTENCE. GOD"

"You two done", Misato said, arms crossed with annoyance.

The two stopped bickering. They all reclined themselves off the railing of the docking area. Misato fixed her hair and looked at the kids. She then raised her gaze and saw Akagi coming down the elevator. She walked towards them in a slow manner, embarrassed by the scandal that had just happened down here. "Well, it seems everything has fallen into its place", Akagi said sarcastically, as she saw the scuffle from upstairs. Eighteen and they still behave like fucking children.

"Ah yeah, I was just telling them to stop fighting so we could inform them of the program we have", Misato said while looking at Akagi then turning her gaze onto the young adults. "For one month, you two will be tested both psychologically and physically through simulations, and yes they include synchronizations".

"It is imperative that you assist every one of them in order to form perfect test results to hand to the General Secretary for approval of the continuation of his project", Akagi said as she put a cigarette in her mouth, taking a puff and exhaling, "if not then this was all for nothing. I suggest you two get along and try to work together, otherwise this is a fucking waste of everyone's time, especially your fathers time Shinji.", she said while looking at him, as if she was scolding him.

Shinji looked down at his feet, embarrassed at the accusation thrown at him. Asuka looked at him, she felt weird as it was the first moment, she'd seen him worried at something other than apologizing for everything.

"And for you, Mrs. Soryu", Akagi retorted which caught Asuka's attention off guard.

"Yes, Dr. Akagi?"

"Me and everyone here expect great things from you. The General Secretary is also expecting great things from you, this also includes the Soviet Union, and its Warsaw Pact members as well. They have said your abilities are unmatchable, or so we are told. So be sure to pull through otherwise Moscow will not be happy"

Asuka made her hand into a fist, anger was brewing inside her as she was being scolded for being just there. Who the fuck does this woman think she is, telling me what to do, nobody tells the great Asuka Langley Soryu what to do, but… then again, she does have a point. Moscow expects great things, if I don't deliver, who knows what they will do to me.

"Now that you are all briefed, I leave you with LTC Katsuragi", Akagi said while facing Misato, she saluted Misato and left, taking the elevator back to the labs.

The room was quiet, and Misato spoke, but the words didn't reach Asuka for she was fixated on her EVA. Don't worry, will do great, will show those pigs in Moscow and in Tokyo how piloting is done.

The skies were blue as always, as Asuka got up from bed; she noticed the drapes of her window hadn't been closed, thus the sunlight pierced her room, waking her up from her beauty sleep. A groan could be heard coming from Asuka as she got up. "Goddammit, I knew I should have closed them".

She walked towards them and closed them shut with some force, such a force that could have broken them. She walked towards the bathroom, still rubbing her eyes. She got into the shower and began to get ready for another week of practice, and of Shinji. After three weeks of talking to the idiot, I thought it would have been harder, guess I was wrong, for now, that is. I guess Kaji is to be thanked for this. 'The kid just needs some talking points, think of stuff you would like, and ask him, I remember those words, Mr. Kaji. I don't know if I should thank you or hate you for it.

Asuka felt the water falling upon her body, it was warm, like the coffee she had during the first day. Warmness, a feeling of comfort and tranquility. Normalcy was something alien to her. This shower, this room, this life means nothing in the greater scheme of things. Get it together Asuka. She got out of her shower and prepared herself for the day. She decided to wear the same clothes she had worn the first time; except she would wear twin tails accompanied by her interface headset. As Asuka was about to head out; she decided to have an adjustment made to her newfound hair clippers. "There we go." The interface had been tinkered with just enough to prevent it from not working. Inside, she placed one of the cyanide pills. God knows if I'll reach it in time, but it is better to have it here than to leave it here. She clipped her hair and walked away from her room, closing the door.

"Ah, morning Asuka."

He looked at Asuka, he had finally mustered enough courage to start saying hello and goodbye. He still questioned whether it was the right approach; however, he knew courtesy would prevail. And to be fair he was right.

"Hey Baka Shinji, looks like you've arrived early", she said congratulating him with a smug smile. He returned the smile, though an awkward one. Ha-ha yes, Shinji smile at the self-deprecating joke. You're doing great, he thought with sarcasm. He was aware of his awkwardness and introverted state though he couldn't do much about it, or better yet didn't want to do much about it. It's better this way.

The wind blew into Shinji's hair as he drove his car through the countryside, making his way to NERV HQ. Shinji felt relax as he drove in his car. Solitude. It's the only place he felt free, being in his car for hours upon hours. Shinji looked at Asuka as he drove. She was eating an instant ramen noodle soup. Guess she didn't eat breakfast.

"You know that's bad for you," Shinji said to Asuka while pointing at the instant noodles. "Too much salt".

"And?" Asuka responded with a raised eyebrow, as if she were being scolded, "I didn't eat breakfast. Why the fuck do you think I am eating this". She got a bid irritated because of Shinji's question.

"Oh, well sorry, it's that you know I could make you something better", Shinji said very timidly, scared of Asuka's response. Please don't throw it on me. However, he was shocked by her response. The redhead was laughing at his response, he was confused as to why she found it funny. "What's so funny Asuka?".

"Oh my God, sorry Shinji", she said trying to contain her laughter, "it's that for a second I thought you said you knew how to cook".

"I wasn't lying", he said with seriousness. This made Asuka a bit more serious and a bit embarrassed at her comment. Shinji quickly noticed he had made Asuka feel a bit embarrassed, so he decided to fix the situation. "Uhm, but don't worry. I can make you something one of these days if you want".

He tried to appeal to her hungry senses to gain her trust. However, she asked something else, as if trying to avoid his little power trip stunt. "How did you get into cooking, Baka Shinji?" She asked with curiosity, though tried keeping her seriousness and overall berating of Shinji.

Shinji looked surprised at her question. I would have liked it if you just kept laughing. Well here goes nothing. "Well, you see I began cooking because of little sis. You see after her incident, I found myself in a hole I couldn't climb out of," Shinji said with seriousness, "it was like a nightmare, and so I found my calling in, well… cooking. Being able to create something, no need to destroy. It made me feel… alive".

Shinji noticed Asuka was genuinely interested in his story. This was not an Asuka behavior, she listened to him. She didn't berate, insult, or tell him anything that would seem offensive. Shinji felt like somebody was listening to what he had to say. "But-t-t that's too long and boring. I am sure you don't want to hear th-"

"No, uhm I mean", Asuka exclaimed loudly. She then turned red by her response. Shinji stifled his giggles from her. He genuinely felt better just by looking at her hide her interest, "continue, idiot Shinji. Tell me about what happened, with your sister".

"Well then, uhm where do I start…"

Tokyo-03, the city of the future. Humanities last hope against the angels. However, the Angels. What are they? Messengers of God, beings from another world or just something we have no reason to understand. Their existence is a mystery, yet their purpose is clear: to destroy Humanity. However, how can I tell if destroying the Angels means humanity's salvation or damnation?

Shinji was sat in his cockpit filled with LCL. Bubbles floated as he breathe them in, filling his lungs. He felt at peace at that moment, inside of his entry plug. He always wanted to stay there forever; he felt no need to leave. However, did he deserve it? I don't think peace is for me, not after everything I have done peace is an alien concept. I shall only achieve when I die.

"Launching Eva's!", a voice cried from the intercoms. As both Eva's raced to the top. Meanwhile, Misato kept briefing both pilots. "All right you two, the Angel has breached the Geofront. Attempts at immobilizing it with N2 mines and conventional armament have failed. You two will coordinate and attack it before it reaches the Central Dogma. Please be careful", she said with genuine care for both pilots. Before going off comms she said one final thing, "Oh and Rei, take care of your brother. You know he tends to go a bit rowdy in his fights".

Shinji saw in his HUD the other entry plug. Its occupant: Rei Ikari, her little sister. She was only fifteen and was already piloting an Evangelion Unit: Unit 00. She had short blue pale hair with bangs in the middle. She had grey-blue eyes and was wearing a golden plug suit.

"What's the problem big brother", she giggled, looking at him with a smile.

"Ah nothing sis, I was just thinking, that's all", he looked at his sister, trying to drop any thought of worries about him. He didn't need to make his sister worry about him.

The two Eva's raced towards the surface, scraping the wall as they both reached their destination. Eva-01 hid behind some buildings that had collapsed following Angel's rampage. He saw his sister in her Eva: a golden-colored Evangelion with a white horn scalp and one red eye which made it look like a cyclops. As both Eva's got into position, they could see the Angel in the distance. It resembled a humanoid figure, with arms that extended like razor blades. Zeruel.

"Shinji, engage the Angel effective at once. Use your Positron to draw him towards you so that Rei ca-".

"No, I am taking him down", Shinji shouted as he sprinted towards Angel's head-on. He didn't care what happened, killing the Angel was the top priority, and he would make damn sure he did it. Besides, he could steal the show from his sister, keeping her safe. Sorry for stealing your thunder again sis.

The giant messenger of God spotted Eva-01, and quickly extended his long face which reached Unit 1, biting its right leg. Shinji screamed in pain from the bite. Then the Angel extended his arms, cutting both of Eva-01 arms.

"AHHHHHH", Shinji let out a blood-curdling scream of pain. He had lost both arms and one leg. He fell to the floor, blood purring out of his Eva as he laid there defenseless. Ahh, son of a bitch. I'll fucking kill you for that. Eva-01 was blasted by the angel's cross laser attack, leaving him pinned to the floor. The angel attacked him again with his blades pinning him against the NERV HQ Pyramid. "AHHHHH, UH-H BLAARGH", blood came out of Shinji's mouth he was seriously injured. He began to cry out in fury, cursing at the Angel.

He heard chatter in his interface, he could barely hear it, as the Angel was attacking his core, hitting his chest. Shinji felt as if his ribs were about to shatter alongside his entire chest with each hit.

"NO", Misato cried out over by his interface headset.

Shinji looked out his HUD, he was closing his eyes, he had lost the strength to go on. Uh, so this is it. Huh well, I can finally be at peace, though I'll never be atoned for my sins; God can judge me himself.

*BLAWHMMMP*

Shinji heard a loud AT Field sound. He looked over through his HUD, trying to remain conscious. In that instant adrenaline filled the young boy, he forgot he was injured and bleeding, as he saw his worst nightmare. Shinji had always wanted to die; he didn't deserve to exist. His father hated him, everyone did, he thought about it. He detested this life. The only person who gave him purpose was his sister.

"REIIII", Shinji screamed at his sister who had engaged the Angel all alone. She began breaking the Angels AT Field taking hit after hit from it. She broke enough time to finally stab it in its core. It was now finally dead.

Shinji heard her pant, she was tired. Her Eva was filled with cuts from all its attacks. She used her AT field in a creative way preventing her from suffering a fate like Shinji.

She chuckled a bit. "Guess you owe me now bro-".

Shinji's eyes widened in horror. Everything went into slow motion. He screamed but the sound didn't come, it's as if he were mute, or the world around him went silent. He had suffered through his whole life, people bullying him, trampling him, suffering the fate of being a pilot of a damned mech, and had to suffer knowing he was the son of a man who ruled a nation with an Iron fist. He knew that in the end, he would rule Japan, but he could forget all of that, because his sister, was always there. The only person he genuinely cared for, that same person was just decapitated. The Angel in one final act of vengeance for its demise used his blades and cut off Unit-00's head, sending it flying towards Shinji, landing in front of him. She had saved him, and she paid for it. No no no no no, Rei no, why the fuck did you do it. Oh GOD, No Rei why did you save me, it's all my fault no why, why, why. Shinji began to sob uncontrollably. "REIIIIII!"

Asuka looked in amazement at his story, as Shinji looked at the road, not moving his head. "So, there you have it. that's how this shit went down. After that, they found us and put us in the hospital. I got out Scott free, however, she wasn't so lucky. That bastard put her into a coma. Doctors said she was lucky not to be dead or to have been turned into a fucking vegetable. Ever since that day, I have felt nothing but sorrow, and so I decided to redirect through cooking."

Asuka was shocked, to say the least. Baka Shinji, you have gone through so much. You're still an idiot for charging in, and almost getting yourself killed, but… you poor thing. "I can't even imagine that. I've never suffered like that back in the USSR".

"Not to worry, I don't need sympathy right now. All I can say is thank you Asuka for listening to me. I've kept that to myself for a while."

He smiled at her, he was thanking her for listening and letting him open. Only a few weeks and the Dummkopf reveals this bombshell of his life. I feel terrible, still, I should return the favor.

She smiled back, but as soon as she was going to tell him about her story, he interrupted her.

"Asuka want to hear some music?", Shinji responded with a happier tone.

Asuka was mad he had interrupted her, but she didn't want to make him feel bad, so she went along. "Sure, idiot Shinji put something in there", she said joyfully.

They both listened to Rolling Stones, Paint it Black as they drove towards the facility.

The window was left open, leaving winds to pour into Asuka's room. She was in a deep sleep, she had turned off her alarm, and decided to enjoy peace and tranquility until she remember. "Shit today is the final", and with that, she ran off to be ready for Shinji.

Asuka waited for Shinji in the hotel lobby. She sees his stupid face through the windows and heads out through the revolving door. The day is bright, as always; Second Impact made it impossible for any other season to happen, summer has been going on for all these years, but now it feels warmer than usual.

Asuka walked towards Shinji's car, once inside she greeted Shinji in a joyful manner. Shinji sweated; he wasn't used to seeing her so happy when he picked her up. Usually, she was happy but that would disappear. The only way he could bring it back was to talk about something she liked.

"So, Asuka what's the occasion?" he said while looking at her, she had worn something fresher, some blue shorts with a yellow top shirt. She had changed her hair, sporting twin tails which were being held by two red interface headsets. She was wearing white sneakers, is she going to the beach or someplace.

"Huh, oh you mean my outfit, and mood", she looked at him with a serious face, "it's not because of you, that's for sure", then she started laughing, to which Shinji smiled. "I decided to wear something fresher because it's our last trial, after this, we won't do much".

The testing process had occurred for exactly a month, tomorrow June would begin, and sync tests would be less frequent, thus today would be the final test to see if it all paid off in the end. Shinji and Asuka didn't talk much during their ride towards the Geofront, all that time talking had stopped. However, Asuka decided to break the ice.

"Shinji, there is something I want you to know", she said with hesitation in her voice, she looked nervous, and unsure if what she had to say was necessary for the idiot to know. Am I doing the right thing?

"What is it Asuka?" Shinji responded, turning his eyes quickly at Asuka before looking back at the road.

"Remember what you told me about your sister?".

"Yeah? What about it".

"Well, the thing is, I've thought about sharing something about my life with you. I don't know why but I felt compelled by your story"

She looked at him, he looked worried. She had expected his reaction to being one of glee because she became interested in him or one of compassion but that was not what had come about. Instead, he looked tense. The fan was on high, the cold air filled the car, Asuka was almost freezing, but freezing was better than dying of heat from the hot summer days, but Shinji sweated, even with the cold air from the AC.

Shinji quickly said as if trying to deviate her words. "No, it's not necessary Asuka. Well not that but, uhm. Shit", he tumbles with his own words, was he nervous about today, or had something happened that he didn't want to reveal to her.

"I think it's only fair, more so of a favor than a necessity, if it weren't for that I wouldn't tell you shit", she replied coldly which grabbed his attention, "so shut up and don't be jumpy because of it". He nodded with a serious face and began to listen.

"When I was seven, I was selected for Eva training. You know the basic shit. Fairly sure you went through that too, right?", he nodded in agreement to her question, "after all that training time, my mother was the only person I had that I could call family. Fuck what am I saying, even with her still alive she was nothing more than a shelter for me" she said with emotion something she had never done when talking about the issue, especially to someone else. Shinji looked at her with attention, with a dumb look, trying to understand what she was saying.

She returned the look and stared into his eyes, those Grable eyes; the same ones she saw in the picture, the ones that had caught her attention. She didn't know what to think about them, they made her feel out of the know. All her life she had spent alone, but now she felt defenseless against a boy she had been getting to know for the past month. Why was she now feeling as if she didn't know him?

She regained her composure and continued. "Anyways Dummkopf, long story short I felt compelled all right. Your little sister made me feel different. That's all". Asuka looked like a little kid, cheeks puffed up and a bit red, as if she were embarrassed to admit what she had done. "I have never talked to somebody about this shit, but your sister, your story, about how you wish to die instead of being saved that day, made me I don't know, feel. You get me?".

Asuka looked at Shinji. "Yeah, I get you, you feel compassionate because of my deeds, but it's ok Asuka", Shinji responded as if trying to end the conversation.

Asuka retorted a bit disappointed with his lack of communication "Well in that case dummy know this and have those big ears open because I am only saying it once." She took a deep breath, and finally said something that she truly felt, "You have made me feel better in this one month. Nobody has ever done something similar, except Kaji, but still; even if it looks like you're not trying or if you're doing it on purpose, my whole life's been shit, and I haven't talked to many in these past years. I guess what I am saying is: Thank you Idiot Shinji".

Shinji was stunned by her response, was he that effective at understanding her. What did I do? All we did was talk about music, food, movies, and video games? How did she get those ideas? He was mentally flabbergasted.

"Asuka, I… don't know how to respond, uhm I don-"

"You're welcome".

"Excuse me", Shinji looked at Asuka as if confused by her sudden wordplay.

"You can start by that. Shinji, I am a complicated person the fact that you compelled me in such a short time says a lot, give yourself a pat on the back. And for God sake smile for more than five minutes or your face is going to end up with a dumb expression for the rest of your life", Asuka laughed as she finished her sentence, she felt joyful but was it because she was finally opening to the things, she had repressed her whole life, or did she enjoy his company?

Shinji smiled and nodded at her, "Your welcome Soryu, and thanks for being nice".

Asuka didn't even say anything back, no mean or degrading joke, she simply smiled at him.

"How about some music", Shinji asked, his smile had all but disappeared as he inserted the cassette, he had returned to his normal state. The pilots went into the GeoFront with Bohemian Rhapsody playing in the background as they entered the tunnel. Shinji looked at the Geofront, he couldn't think of anything, all he could hear was Freddie Mercuries voice. No escape from Reality.

The sound of pressurizing came from the lockers, as Asuka got into her red plug suit. Training had finished, the test had arrived. She looked worried as if she had something on the top of her lips she wanted to let out. She had noticed for most of the ride that Shinji, even after telling him about her life, had noticed he was still a bit tense. He is just nervous about the test. She smiled a true joyful smile. He deserves motivation that's all.

She decided to exit the room and go around the corridors to the boy's locker room. She looked at the panel door and was about to click it but stopped midway through. Ok, Asuka, just says good luck and that's it, the idiot doesn't need much. And you aren't doing it in a nice way just as something to calm yourself down. Dammit, why am I even getting worked up about this? She opened the door and made half her body present into the room; it was barely lightened, not even because of maintenance, they were set that way by someone. She walked inside and the door close behind her. There was nobody else in that room, only her and Shinji, who had to be around. The place wasn't that big, the size of a normal college locker room. She kept walking until she heard a locker walked towards it. Ok, Asuka, just say what you want to say and that's it. Besides it's something quick, he will appreciate it later. He is just an idiot; how bad can it be. She turned the corner, and her face turned into a tomato. She had walked in on the boy half-naked, no shirt, pants hitting the floor, only a brief boxer to cover the manhood he had.

She quickly hid behind some lockers, face still red. Her heart was pounding fast, it felt like it was about to leave. Oh, my fucking God, this cannot be happening. Even though she was scared shitless at the fact she saw the boy she despised almost naked, she decided to peek a little bit more. She saw the boy had removed his boxers, revealing his backside. Asuka didn't think much about it, it looked cute, she gave him that, but nothing special. He wasn't exactly top of the mill when it came to athletic, but he had some muscles. However, Asuka was taken aback by something she saw on his back

Are those scars? Why does he have so many? Asuka began to look even more worried, her blushed face replaced with a whiter one as if she had seen something forbidden. Asuka ran outside and sat on the floor, contemplating what she saw. Suddenly the door opened, and out came Shinji. He looked at Asuka. He gave his hand to pick her up from the ground.

"Well, I guess this is goodbye for now. I'll see you after the test". Shinji began to walk away as he was waving at her.

"Wait!" Asuka replied to Shinji with much urgency.

Shinji looked perplexed and turned around to face Asuka.

"Good luck Idiot Shinji, you're going to need it", Asuka said with a smile. She for the first time was genuinely enjoying life.

"Uhm, same Asuka. Good luck. Goodbye".

Asuka looked at the worried Shinji disappearing into the darkness of the long corridors. She began to walk away with much-needed relief. That was awkward, why did I even do it. I don't like him, do I? No, I see him as a friend, that's all. He is the only one who gets me, right?

COMMENCING SIMULATION TRAINING. WELCOME ASUKA LANGLEY SORYU. BEGINNING ANGEL ONE SIMULATION.

The test was something Asuka had prepared for a month. This unlike any other test would prove her prowess to all NERV TOKYO-03. The test, however, was easier said than done. It had a simulation fight with every Angel battled in Moscow and Tokyo-03, meaning Asuka fought some of her old enemies once again. Asuka lost against Ramiel and Gaghiel but successfully defeated the rest. Her score could have been better, but she passed.

"I did it, I finally did it. It's over" she said with a triumphant tone. The scores popped up on the screen. The bubbles from the LCL made it difficult to see some of it but Asuka saw that Shinji had lost to Zeruel, the Angel that had hurt his sister. Did he let himself be killed by it, to own up to the mistake he made? "Shinji…" Asuka said with sadness in her voice, she felt compelled for the first time not for his sister but for Shinji Ikari.

Suddenly the power went off inside the entry plug, no power meant the only sound was the waves of LCL within the plug. "Huh, what's going on. Hello, anyone come in", Asuka tried to use her interface headset, but nothing came from it. The plug began to shake as if it were being moved. Could it be an Angel attack already? Asuka began to consider the possibility that the real deal was up there.

"H *SKRTZZT* ello. Hell*SKRTZZT* o, Asuka?", a voice came from the headset.

"Shinji are you there. You, ok?", she worried, she didn't know what was happening, so she had to rely on him as her only other means of knowing what was going on.

"Yeah, I am, though I feel as if the plug is being moved".

"Shinji, do you think this maybe be the real deal"

"I don't know, coms wouldn't go down this fast unless the Angels pulled some bullshit out of their sleeves", Shinji said with concern. The Angels had pulled fast ones in the past, proving to be more cunning than usual. They had shown that their attacks were beginning to have more coordination rather than blindly charging at NERV.

Asuka's plug was shaking, making bubbles of LCL float all around her. She began to see her HUD turn on. "Huh, I am in my EVA?", she said with confusion, she was taken aback by the sudden switch from darkness to visual confirmation of her surroundings, she was now in Unit 2. Shinji had also confirmed he was in his Evangelion Unit.

The two behemoths were in their respective launching platforms. No communication or confirmation was heard from the Command Center, nevertheless, both Eva's were launched. The scraping sound of the booster that kept pushing both Eva's to the surface ringed through the pilot's ears as they tried to produce a plan.

"Shinji, once we are on the surface, you're going to find cover behind anything, then take your Positron rifle from the armory next to your launchpad", Asuka said with a stern voice, she had taken her first initiative, she was giving orders instead of taking them, "since we have no visual or verbal confirmation of the Angel, we have no choice but to jump it."

*THUMP*

The Eva's reached the surface of the Geofront, they were far away from the headquarters and the buildings. Both Eva's launched themselves into cover, gripping their rifles with readiness. So fast indeed, that they hadn't noticed they were still under the Front, not on Tokyo-03 surface. "At the count of three, we jump it. Okay Shinji?", Asuka said with determination, this was to be her first exposition match in Tokyo she wasn't going to let it go to waste.

"Right, I am ready whenever you are Asuka", Shinji replied with a bit of concern, nevertheless he held fast.

"Three, two, one, NOW". Both Eva's jumped fast out of their hiding positions and pointed the positron's rifles at the Angel. Wait that's impossible. In front of Asuka was the enemy or so she thought, what lied before Asuka was EVA-01. "Shinji are you there," she asked with much confusion, she began to quickly assume that it was either a trap or miscommunication.

"I am here. I see your EVA, what's going on Asuka?".

You think I know you idiot, stay sharp this could be a trap".

In the distance, a white Huey Helicopter approached the area, on its side it had the Peoples Republic of Nippon flag. It landed on the surface, rising dust, and waving grass due to the rotors of the chopper. The transports doors were opened, and from inside Asuka could see a menacing figure. As he came out, she got a better look. Brown beard, and hair. White gloves, dressed in a black uniform with red lines sewn into his jacket. He had a red shirt with black pants. He also wore some round-shaped-lenses glasses with a red, and brown mixed color. It was him, General Secretary himself: Gendo Ikari.

He walked onto the grassy field. He looked as if he had no issue acknowledging the two massive Eva's next to him. As if he knew something they didn't know.

"Welcome pilots'', he said with a gravelly voice, "I see the test was a success. Your results showed much talent in them. The synchronization rates have also shown that you two are fit to continue in this project. For that, I congratulate both of you".

He then turned around and begun to walk back to the helicopter. Asuka questioned what he said. That's it? He came all this way just to say 'good job' kids. Sounds like a load of bullshit but still, it's nice bullshit. Asuka smiled, filled with relief that an Angel wasn't coming; however, she saw that Gendo stopped right on his tracks, hand in his beard, thinking of something; as if he had forgotten something. He then turned around looking at EVA-02.

"Ah yes I forgot some details. Pardon me, pilots. While the test and simulation proved that you are, without a doubt, perfect pilots…I have no use for such things." Gendo retorted with a dead look, it hit Asuka. Even if she weren't looking at his face, she could feel his gaze hitting her eyes, just by looking at it through the screen. "Technology in our magnificent civilization has achieved many things, nevertheless, we mustn't fail to remember that not everything is to be dependent on it. Humankind sought to partake in the sphere of superiority, and for it to happen, necessary issues had to take place: Conflict, reform, philosophical transformation, and so on and so forth." He kept talking with a dead look, he seemed to be lecturing them on the humanities and philosophy.

After he finished his dialogue he headed back to the helicopter, but not before turning around, and giving both Eva's a look. "You two will today partake in that superiority, the concluding assessment. For you shall defeat the enemy, only through victory can you truly be a perfect pilot of the PRN". He gave a grin, and boarded the chopper, the door closing behind him.

Asuka looked as he left, so she decided to ask one final question. "Who is the foe, General Secretary?".

"The foe would be in front of you Mrs. Soryu". Gendo said through the comms.

She was taken aback by his words, so sharp and dry. She had hoped not to fail today, but that was out of the question, or so she wanted to. Asuka looked at EVA-01. She had to fight it, hand to hand. A month of dialogue and trust; would it hold under it. Asuka had already answered that question.

"Mr. Ikari, I refuse to engage in combat with Shinji. Uhm, but not only that the EVAS would be damaged, and an Angel attack could happen." Asuka said in hurry, trying to find ways to make the Commander reconsider, but to no avail. She continued to try and bargain, only to hear something that sent shivers down her spine.

"Mrs. Soryu, understand this, you are here for a reason, to prove your worth. If you win you have my respect, but if you lose, punishment won't be so gentle." Gendo said with a dead voice, making Asuka feel as if he had spoken to her from behind, sending chills down her. She was mad that Shinji wasn't responding to any of this. She decided to close her eyes, analyzing the situation in her head.

If I refuse, I could be sent back to Russia, or worse: executed. I have sworn never to take orders, and that it won't deter me. I can't hurt Shinji; he is not supposed to be harmed either way. Besides, I don't want to hurt him, even if I wanted to hit his dumb face. I can't bring myself to that. I…I…I. Suddenly the ground began to shake, something was barreling towards her EVA that she had little time to react.

The thing slammed into her so hard that she went flying, her EVA was knocked back destroying trees, and landing on a hill deforming it entirely. Asuka regained her composure after such a hit. She looked at her attacker, it was EVA-01.

"Shi-Shi-inji, why?", she said entirely devastated, a single tear falling from her eye. She was taken aback by this attack that it made her feel betrayed. She was fighting for him, trying to defend him.

"I am sorry Asuka, I need to do this. Don't interfere with this". Shinji said with sincerity. He had completely changed, the nice dumb boy had turned into a different man, he talked as if he knew what had to be done, no question about it. He obeyed orders.

Asuka fell into a void in her heart, she had felt it be punched and gutted before, but not like this. The man she trusted, the man that for over a month she had laughed, berated, and talked to, was now attacking her, and following his dad's orders to best her in combat. She tried holding her tears, but soon many would rain down. Something began to brew inside her. That stab infected her, filled her with something she didn't want to show to him, for she still cared. Nevertheless, that boat had sailed. She began to be filled with rage. Her eyes transformed from tearful to almost bloodshot eyes. She gripped her controls with such strength that it could almost break them. She heard her own heart with such ferociousness from the blood coursing through her, the poison that was now filling her lungs, lusting for vengeance.

I gave you my trust…I told you about my struggles… I heard yours. I tried to find resemblance in you, to begin my life afresh… I fucking thought I had found a genuine redeemer, but it turns out, "I found another cheap lying SON OF A BITCHHHH". Asuka screamed in fury as EVA-02 ran towards Shinji, charging in headfirst with a fist ready to strike.
