Chapter 3: Start the short Adventure Time

PART 1

It is currently evening. The sun is about to set.

We recently came out of the cave and immediately headed towards Axel.

The treasure we found is very valuable. They will gain a lot of Eris by selling all of it.

I'm concerned about how much I will get.

Considering how much I did for them, I deserved as much as they will divide between themselves as a party. I also remember them saying I'd receive equal share.

Also, I wonder if I have a permanent place in their party now.

"That was tiring but worth it."

Taylor broke the ice that had lasted for a while.

As we were leaving we countered a few monsters from behind. First one was sudden because we weren't paying attention, it was a jumpscare.

First one was a gremlin running toward us with mouth wide open and salivating.

Later on, we heard big footsteps behind us. As if it was a giant thing walking towards us.

Anyway, we had to watch out back and keep out mouth shut.

"It was so scary leaving that cave!"

Lynn who had been the MVP for keeping her mouth shut, spoke as she shuddered.

"Yeah, scary and tiring but worth it, hehe."

Finally, Keith spoke.

"This treasure will last us for a month maybe."

Said Taylor.

When its sold, the money will be divided between 4 of us. Not sure if they will count the guy in jail too.

"We went through a lot of trouble for a few months."

Spoke Keith with a sigh.

"Yeah, I didn't expect tons of undead to be in there."

"The guild did tell us about potential dungeon owner."

Discussed Lynn than Taylor.

"By the way, can we all agree Kazuma's the MVP today?"

Taylor patted my shoulder as he said that.

"Definitely!"

Keith exclaimed without hesitation.

"More importantly, what was that, Kazuma? That thing you did. You wiped all those monsters out."

Lynn asked something I wanted them to forget.

Ah... I have to explain that... I am not sure how to.

Maybe I shouldn't have done that. But then monsters would have eaten me alive.

It's not like I can fight that good with a dagger either.

Now how should I explain it all. Tell them that a weird goddess sent me in this world with that power? Not sure if they will believe. More importantly, I don't want rumour about that spreading.

I want fame, but not something like that. What some religion captures me or something. On top of that, people might question me about seeing a god or anything of the like.

Though, that god said there are more of "hero" like me in this world.

Maybe they already know existence of those "heroes".

I think telling them truth would be better. People might treat me like an hero and I might get whatever I want...

"What happened, Kazuma? Why are you spacing out?"

"You don't have to tell if you don't want to, y'know."

They said worriedly.

"Well.. You see I came from far away land to become a adventurer and try to defeat the Demon King, maybe. This uh, power I... learned it from a powerful mage, yeah..."

I explained. There could be a lot of loop holes in this made up story.

I couldn't decide between telling truth or lie. I just went with the latter.

"So amazing. To be able to know such a powerful spell despite being a thief class. You are genius!"

Said Lynn completely amazed.

"I have never seen a magic that summons so many weapons, its so cool! I'm kind of jealous"

Keith has same opinion.

"Are you a noble from somewhere?"

Asked Taylor

Hm... I guess its good as it is. Let's leave it be here.

They think I'm some multi talented prodigy from far away.

I better make it clear I'm not a noble. That may become a problem for me later on.

"By the way, Kazuma, how about you join our party?"

When I was about to talk, Taylor spoke before me.

And I have no reason to decline, other than you all becoming a obstacle for me at some point.

PART 2

I was headed towards my inn that I usually rent.

The party divided their earning. All the quest reward was given to me for being the MVP.

After selling the treasure they gained quite a lot of money. That too was divided, equally.

We partied for earning such amount of money.

They were talking cheerfully about everything that had happened in the quest today.

They even let other drink from their money. And talked about how cool and powerful I was.

Everything until now has gone as I wanted. I enjoyed the party and ate as much good and tasty stuff since Moreover, I didn't pay for it.

Soon after, that Keith guy fainted because of drinking too much and we parted ways.

They had also said something about the 4th member being released tomorrow or something.

The sky is dark enough to be called mid-night but the sun recently settled and the moon is not even up yet.

It might be around 6-8pm. I could tell exactly if I had a watch.

Anyway, its far from the time I usually sleep and so, I don't feel like sleeping at all.

I was thinking about going for a walk as well as starting to tone my body.

That seems like a good idea with no problems. I have a lot of free time.

I could even go for a few monster extermination and improve my aiming, level and earn money.

Ah, that's right. I totally forgot about this.

I took out my adventurer's card.

Need to assess my skill points.

I gained few levels after wiping that load of monsters.

5 skill points, in other words, 5 level ups. My level is 9 now.

Only Bind, Skill Bind, Escape and Wire Trap skills are available for me at the moment.

All of that cost 3 skill points or above.

I know just what to unlock for now. I will leave 2 skill points for later.

Might as well check out the town too. Find some useful shops, maybe potions or something.

Ah, so much to do. I feel lazy now, but its for greater good.

Exercise, and explore the town. Might as well complete quests in free time sometimes.

Alright. 2nd day here, everything's going fine, but I am being too carefree I guess. Got to be careful, but let's enjoy this week for the time being.

PART 3

After finishing breakfast I headed for the adventurer's guild tavern.

The 4th guy is probably gonna be released today.

They said that they'll go to another quest after eating and stuff. Despite the recent earnings, they still want to keep going. I have no problem.

For now, I will go and sit down with those other 3, and wait till the guy shows up.

- After meeting with Taylor and other, we sat down to chat and eat for a while until Dust showed up.

From what I was told and remember, Dust isn't much of a smart person and is very troublesome, being #1 delinquent of Axel.

"How you all doing!"

A cheerful voice directed towards us.

This Dust sounded happy despite just coming out of jail...

Lynn let out a sigh.

The 3 looked nonchalant.

"Hey, did you not hear me?"

Despite their behavior Dust sat down and finally noticed me.

"Wait. Who are you?"

Before I could answer, Taylor spoke:

"Dust, this is Kazuma. Kazuma, this is Dust."

Taylor pointed between me and Dust.

"Oh. I'm Dust, the party's leader."

"He clearly isn't the leader."

I thought so.

"Ok, anyways Dust. The thing is, we think that Kazuma will make a excellent party member for us."

Before Dust could retort, Lynn interrupted him.

The Dust guy clearly looked confused.

"Ahem. My name is Kazuma. Nice to meet you. My calling is Thief. I'm level 9, but I will try my best to be useful."

With a plastered calming smile, I introduced myself in most humble way possible.

Instead of a smile, I was met with suspicions eyes from Dust.

"I already dislike you. That humbleness of yours irritates me somehow."

Tsk, this bastard.

"Dust, Kazuma is amazing. He helped us on our quest and even saved our lives."

"Him being humble is a good thing, not bad, unlike a certain ungrateful troublemaker."

"We don't care about your opinion in the first place. Let's just go on the quest already."

After Word:

I thought so too.

I will write only plot now, no filler at all. I will write less details too, for example: Going to bed, selling stuff, exact skills, or money stuff.

Boring stuff will be skipped. It is a small fanfiction, so there will be timeskips when needed.

A lot more to say, can't remember tho.

Cosray8d: You have got it all wrong man. Enibra and Kazuma aren't "slightly intelligent". I will nerf Kazuma's ability as much as I can to make it feel similar to other divine relics in KonoSuba. It will be heavily situational because every divine relic has it weakness in KonoSuba. I didn't want to use it in fanfiction as well but it is cool and... cool. Using party strength? Sure, but sometimes, mostly against monsters. Most things you said are wrong and I suggest you read more carefully.

Drcaus: "Mushoku Tensei and Rising of the Shield Hero crossover"? The fuck? Never did that one... I assume you aren't referring to my only mushoku tensei fanfiction, if so, you are completely wrong. I never did any crossovers, except for 2, which aren't crossover in my opinion.

Matias Villalba: Uh... I don't think you people read the after word. Kazuma's personality never change. YunYun could make a fine recruitment for Kazuma's party, but not so fast. Also, Kazuma's never gonna take that mask off in front of anyone but trusted people.

"Guest, What? I'm so confused. What happened to Gilg- I mean Kazuma from the previous chapters?": He's still there? I am not sure if you got confused because the perspective changed from narrative to Kazuma.
