'A date?' Sarada thought. She threw her silicone suit in the closet and placed on her normal attire. Once they were completely on, she walked to the mirror to look at herself. Her glasses were on the dresser. After taking her contacts out, she placed her glasses on. Rather relieved since the contacts gave her a headache after wearing them for so long.
Her mother would be home later that evening, working late again at the hospital. Sarada began to get dinner ready, concentrating and not able to get it out of her head her best friend was dating a girl pretending to be a boy.
"I don't understand," she said, she looked for the cutting board. Once she found it, she took some onions out of the refridgerator and started to chop them up. "Why would Tsubaki fool Cho-Cho like that?" They were only going to be playing as boys for two more weeks. Cho-Cho, she was the kind of girl that when she liked a boy...she really liked them. Tsubaki...she was nice but was arrogant and not the least bit tactful.
She nearly cut herself with the blade so she paused what she was doing. With the knife in her hand and the onions mostly cut, she looked up at the ceiling. The fluorescent light had a fly buzzing around it. Regardless of how she felt, she sighed once she realized she had to come to terms with the situation.
The next day, Sarada walked to the theatre and waited for Cho-Cho. She soon saw the young girl walking toward her with a bag of chips and a little smile on her face. Sarada sighed; it was a good sign Cho-Cho didn't appear sad or upset. That must have meant the date went well.
Cho-Cho flung herself onto Sarada, wavy light blue tears ran down her face and she puffed out her cheeks. A sweat drop appeared above Sarada's head and she let out a nervous laugh. Yep, all was well with Cho-Cho, her being dramatic like this often meant things were normal. Sarada began to prepare herself for the onslaught of complaints Cho-Cho was about to throw her way.
"Saradaaaaa!" She cried. "I'm nearly out of chips and don't have any money."
Sarada placed her hands up to defend herself. "What about the money from our missions?"
Cho-Cho pushed Sarada away and placed her hands on her hips. She gave a huff and puffed out just one cheek. With an side eye, she skeptically looked at Sarada. "You think I just spend my money willy nilly, do ya?"
"Eghh, well-"
"No!" Cho-Cho turned her back toward Sarada but it wasn't long until the light blue wavy tears came back. "...I won't have any food while we watch the movie." She said quietly.
It was a bit hard to hear her, still, Sarada asured Cho-Cho she would pay for their snacks. It was noon afterall and time for lunch. Sarada didn't have much of an appetite since she had a big breakfast, so she would just get herself a soft drink.
Both girls enjoyed the movie and once it was done, they walked the streets of the city talking about what they liked and disliked. They found a bench to sit on, the one they normally sat at that was on the bridge and allowed for sitters to see down to even more streets below; it was a good place for one to people watch.
Cho-Cho opened another bag of chips and talked about how happy she was to see Sarada. That she missed her.
Sarada smiled at Cho-Cho's kind words but then found herself looking at her knees. She turned to Cho-Cho. "Hey Cho-Cho?"
"Hmf?"
"How was the date with Baki?"
Cho-Cho swung her legs in front of her, back and forth. She didn't seem any sort of way since there was no blushing, no cooing, or lovely talk like she usually did when it came to boys she crushed on.
"Hmmm," she started. "It was good. It was just for fun though. I mean, him and his asshole of a brother-"
"Egh!"
"-are only here for two more weeks until that competition is over."
Sarada's eyes were slits and her mouth was dry. "Asshole brother?"
Cho-Cho stood up and balled up her chip bag. "Yeah, you're lucky you've never met the jerk." She turned to face Sarada, her head bigger, red, steaming practically coming out of her ears. "He called me ugly."
Sarada glared at Cho-Cho; she never called the girl ugly. For a moment, she wanted to clear her name, and she should have thought better because she accidently allowed some words to slip.
"That's because you were talking shit about my mom, Cho-Cho!"
Cho-Cho opened her eyes and stared at Sarada with a confused look on her face. Sarada forgot, she wasn't there for her to know that so she gave Cho-Cho an excuse about Boruto telling her what happened. Regardless, Cho-Cho felt a bit embarrassed and sat back down on the bench. She listened in on a couple of conversations here and there from people walking by or those standing off to the side. Sarada watched her friend bow her head, her face filled with sorrow.
"I wasn't talking crap about your mom," she exclaimed. "I was just explaining how Konoha doesn't have any women shinobi who can go toe to toe with the men shinobi. Besides, Saku didn't let me finish."
Sarada raised her eye brows.
"I was going to say you, Tsubaki, and even Susu are good role models for girls growing up...I don't know why he had to call me fat and ugly though..." Her voice was soft, quiet, and she was insecure, Sarada was aware of that. The chip bag in Cho-Cho's hand no longer was gruppled up. It was at that moment, a tear drop fell on the bag and Sarada looked up at Cho-Cho. "He told me...no boy would be interested in me because I'm fat and dark skinned." Cho-Cho wiped her tears. "Let's talk about something else now, hmm?" She did her best to put a smile on her face and glanced at Sarada. The two girls had been friends for years and Sarada knew when Cho-Cho was hurt...this was one of those times.
