Chapter 4 Haunting Past

"Oh my gosh, are you okay?" asked Tsunami, Tazuna's daughter, worried about seeing an injured child.

"Oh I'm fine," replied Shinta with a smile. As Naruto helped him walk inside the house. "Don't worry it's just a flesh wound."

"No it's not." said Naomi with a neutral tone as she cleared the couch for Shinta to lay on. "That cut along your chest was deep, it broke your sternum, several ribs, muscles and caused internal bleeding." As he laid down, she put chakra over his wound. "I'm just surprised he didn't cut any internal organs."

"OH MY GOD!" yelled Tsunami almost freaking out.

"Does he need a doctor?" asked Sakura.

"No," Replied Naruto. "He'll be fine."

"And how do you know that?"

"Because when I was helping him move, his bleeding slowed down. He's already fixing himself, isn't he?"

Naomi nodded. "Yep, I can feel it. You used your chakra to keep your bones in the correct position, his veins to keep blood loose to a minimum, and to regulate all organs to keep them running properly." Naomi was impressed. "You know you would make quite the medical nin, if you wanted to."

"You are not the first person to tell me that," said Shinta, not bothered at all. "My dad taught me how to break people, not how to fix them, the only medical techniques he taught me were to fix myself so I can live and fight another day."

"That's good, I might be the most experienced medic here, but I doubt I would have the skills to get you back on your feet so quickly."

"How long are you going to be out?" asked Naruto.

Shinta closed his eyes and hummed. "With Naomi focusing on the blood and muscle. One good sleep and I should be able to move normally but in true fighting capacity I would give myself around 30 hours."

"You got 12." Naruto said firmly.

Before Shinta could say 'You got it.' Sakura decided to start yelling at Naruto. Naomi sighed, "I'm about to kill this girl," she said under her breath. "Tsunami, could you please grab us some blankets please."

"Uh sure, be right back." As the woman went upstairs.

"Naruto, you can't just tell someone to recover from a broken sternum in twelve hours."

Naruto rubbed his temples. "Sakura, please stay out of this."

"Sakura stop," said Sasuke as he pushed her aside and stood in front of Naruto. "Start talking now!"

Naruto gave Sasuke a look. "Seriously you couldn't have waited a few more minutes for us to put our bags down."

Sasuke tossed his bag into a corner. "No, I want answers." Kakashi grabbed Sasuke's bag and scolded him.

"Oh for the love of." Naomi was still fixing up Shinta. "Aren't you two suppose to be best friends or something?"

Sasuke gave her a confused look. "What is that supposed to mean?"

"That isn't what I meant Naomi, when I said we have things in common." explained Naruto.

Kakashi stepped forward. "Look you guys can talk but do it calmly and quietly, we are in someone else's home."

"Does this have something to do with the Uzumaki's." asked Sai, getting everyone's attention.

"The Uzumaki clan." said Tsunami returning with blankets. "Why are you talking about those guys?"

"You've heard of the Uzumaki clan?" asked Sai to Tsunami.

"Of course I have," as she handed the blankets to Naomi. "They're a big legend around these parts, their homeland was not too far from here. We get researchers and people looking for their treasure all time here, or at least we used to."

Sakura gave her a look of confusion. "Wait what?"

Sai saw Naruto look away. "Could you please elaborate, what else do you know about this clan?"

"More than I liked to admit," As the woman sighed. "My old school teacher was big into history so he had all sorts of facts about the Uzumaki clan. They were an ancient clan that were amazing at building things and specialized in seals, they made all sorts of legendary items, if you've heard of a legendary sword, spear, item. Chances are an Uzumaki made them. Even my dad was inspired by that old story, what was it, the sail that could?"

"It was the Little boat that could." Tazuna corrected.

"Right the little boat that could. Anyway, for years they had built things and it attracted all sorts of attention, every village in the world wanted them to build more and greater things. This led to their downfall. Every village tried something to capture them, to make them join their village, when they refused, the villages tried to take them by force, when that didn't work, several villages joined together to kill them all around hundred years ago, right before the first great shinobi war. Making them pretty much extinct."

"Are they all dead?" asked Sakura.

"Well their home is abandoned and in ruin, no one has seen an Uzumaki in years." Tsunami didn't see it but all their eyes turned to Naruto who was leaning against the wall. "Though if you ask my old teacher he would say they're still around somewhere, he actually believes the rumor that the Uzumaki were behind the demon attack."

All their eyes widened as they turned back to Tsunami. "Demon Attack!?"

"Yeah the big fox thing," as she put her hands up like claws, mimicking the fox. "There were merchants that came around ten years ago saying an Uzumaki was the one who summoned the fox to attack the village."

Sakura turned to Naruto as she remembered her childhood at the park. "Don't talk to that boy." "He's a monster." "Demon child." "Why is he even here, shouldn't the Hokage kick him out by now." Sakura remembered just being a little girl as all the adults glared at a child Naruto. Sakura never understood why, but now things were starting to make sense.

"With those rumors running around, I doubt anyone wants anything to do with an Uzumaki."

"Tsunami!" Her father called her.

"What?" She then noticed that everyone was looking at Naruto who was leaning against the wall..

Inside Naruto, Kurama heard everything. "Aren't you going to say something?"

"Nah, it's better if their imagination runs wild for a bit," said the inside Naruto. "It also gives me an excuse to get away from Sasuke's annoying questions." Outside Naruto pushed himself off the wall and made his way to the door. "I'm going to put up some security seals and secure the perimeter."

"Naruto?" Sakura said in a quiet tone, feeling several emotions, some she couldn't understand.

Shinta's laugh got all their attention before he turned his head and locked eyes with Sasuke. "It's funny how the actions of one can have such ramifications on others. Can you imagine, Sasuke? The amount of hatred people have for you because of something your brother did. He's probably out there right now killing people and families of those people are cursing the Uchiha, makes you wonder how much the village would hate you if he attacked people other than the Uchiha."

Sasuke was silent as he remembered the cold stares that Naruto received around the village. 'Is this why he was treated like shit, because of something someone in his clan did?'

"After everything your brother did, can you still have pride in being an Uchiha, wearing that symbol on your back?"

Sasuke's hand reached for his shoulder and to his clan symbol on his back as he thought back when he first saw Naruto. "I'm NARUTO UZUMAKI, and I'm going to be HOKAGE!" 'Even back then I thought he was just being an idiot.' Sasuke thought before remembering a similar conversation. "Are you sure it's wise to wear your clan symbol?" asked Sai.

Sasuke glared at him. "What is that supposed to mean?"

"Apologize, I didn't mean to be rude, back in the Anbu, if someone was from a clan they wouldn't wear their symbol as they didn't want to be identified."

"That's Anbu, not me."

"But it might be best, we might run into someone who might target us because of it."

"I don't care, I want people to know that Uchiha are still alive and if anyone has issues with it I'll deal with them."

Sasuke closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Things are different it's not the same, Naruto is-"

"Zzzz"

Sasuke blinked seeing Shinta was fast asleep. "HEY! Don't fall asleep mid conversation." As he walked towards Shinta planning to hit him awake.

"Don't waste your breath," said Naomi, putting her hand on Sasuke's shoulder. "He put himself into some sort of meditative state to speed up his healing, unless you hit him, you're not going to wake him up." Naomi then began to walk out. "I'm going to put up my own defenses, I trust you won't try to hurt my friend." She stopped and was silent for a moment. "He's right though, you both faced tragedy in the demise of your clans in different ways but you both are survivors, and I know from personal experience it's easier to survive together than alone."

Kakashi watched as she left. 'Those two know about the fox, those questions were to throw the others off without really lying, impressive. I'll go along with it to keep the cover of the nine tails a secret.'

"Is that true, Kakashi sensei?" asked Sakura.

"I'm afraid it is, one is often blamed for the mistake of their relatives." said Kakashi hoping this would quiet things down between the two teams.

Naruto got done finishing his seals when he smelt something, he followed his nose to find Naomi standing not too far away from the house. "Uh what's the smell for?"

"Do you think it's bad?"

"No, hardly noticeable," said Naruto before pausing for a moment. "But that's the point isn't it."

Naomi nodded, "The auroma will stick to anyone for days, if someone tries coming by here we will know." She pointed to the flowers past the trees. "The flowers will change color if someone other than us tries to approach the house in any direction other than the main path. It isn't the best but it might come in handy, other than that I've left a few other surprises."

"Nice."

"By the way Shinta rolled with the rumors Tsunami mentioned, gave the fuck boy quiet a bit to think about." Naomi smiled hoping Sasuke was getting a headache. "How are you doing?"

"Fine, I've heard those rumors before, it was definitely one the merchants like to share." as Naruto remembered all of the stories the traders and merchants made up. "It was the one that made the most sense to outsiders and those who weren't completely stupid."

"Actually that is something I've been meaning to ask," said Naomi with a straight face. "How in the fucking hell did all of those people blame you for this shit. The village can't be that stupid can it?"

Naruto laughed. "I asked the Jiji that once myself, he told me that a person is smart but people are dumb, but to be honest it's probably for the best."

Naomi raised her eyebrow. "Okay why are you being cryptic?"

Naruto smiled. "I'm not, if they knew how the whole thing was a staged attacked they would be freaking the fuck out. I might have been the one that suffered but it kept things from worse to nightmare."

"And you're okay with that?"

Naruto kept smiling. "Absolutely."

Naomi stared at him. "Wow, you're not even lying. That's nuts but expected with this team."

Naruto laughed, "Come on, let's head back."

~o~

Kakashi looked down at the sleeping Shinta. 'Incredible, his chakra keeps flowing steadily as he is sleeping. How on earth can he do this, I don't know of anyone who can do this...except the Reaper.' Kakashi then remembered his fight with the man. 'Is this boy really that man's son? Can we even trust him? If need be I might have to kill him.'

"Tone down the killing intent, will yeah." muttered Shinta with his eyes still closed. "I'm trying to sleep here."

Kakashi's eye widened. "What? How? I barely had any killing intent with that thought how did-" he then realized the boy went back to sleep already. "I really hope you're actually asleep and not screwing with me."

"He's not." Kakashi turned to Naruto as he and Naomi entered the house. "He was trained to sleep almost instantly and to be wide awake if anyone even glares at him wrong. So where did your team go?"

Kakashi looked back at Shinta wondering if he should test him. "Sasuke is off pondering Shinta's words, Sakura is helping out Tsunami and Sai is prepping his own traps inside the house."

"That's good."

"You know all of you are going to die," the three of them turned to see a little boy watching them from across the room. "You can't beat Gato."

All three of them just blink. "Okay, who's the ankle biter?" asked Naomi.

"That's Inari, Tsunami's son." said Kakashi.

"Ah," muttered Naruto before turning to Inari. "Everything seems hopeless huh?"

Inari was a little surprised by Naruto's response, he expected him to get angry or to give some speech. Inari turned to walk away only to see Nartuo. "AH"

Kakashi's eye widened. 'Fast!'

"But you know, kid." as Naruto put a hand on Inari's head. "The hopeless isn't impossible, just watch and we'll show you how we can turn the tides." Naruto began walking back to Naomi. "I'm not going to tell you to not give up hope, I'm going to show you." He turned around and extended his arms out making a fist. "We're the next legendary ninjas, nothing is impossible with team Sannin. Believe it!"

"Hell yeah," They all turned to see Shinta seated up with his fist raised.

Naomi gave him a deadpan look. "Shouldn't you be resting?"

"But I smell food." It was true, they all could smell a meal being cooked in the kitchen. "I ain't about to sleep through a good meal."

~o~

"I do apologize if this isn't enough," said Tsunami as she finished setting the table. "I wasn't expecting so many shinobi to be guarding my father."

"Don't worry, it's alright." said Kakashi as he saw his students sit down and begin eating.

Naruto and his team sat down as well, "If you need any help getting food, we can pitch in."

"Oh thanks," said Tsunami before turning to Shinta. "And how are you doing?"

"Hm, oh I'm doing fine," Shinta then held up his chopsticks before they began spinning around his hand. "I'm doing pretty good, I should be able to make that twelve hour deadline no problem." Shinta then noticed someone was staring at his chopstick. "What do you say kid, interested?"

Inari's face went back to his depressed face. "No, all that is pointless, you'll never win."

Shinta blinked for a few seconds before busting out laughing. "Kid, you would not believe how many times I heard someone say that to me or my dad. Just because a target is surrounded by hundreds of men, it doesn't mean the target can't be killed."

"Um, who was your father?" asked Tsunami, a little nervous.

"Oh he was an assassin, killed a lot of people," said Shinta as he took a bite of his food. "Mmmm this is good. Hey Kakashi, didn't you fight my dad once?"

"Yes I did." Kakashi looked at Shinta.

Shinta swallowed his food. "What?"

"I just have some questions?"

"Go for it," said Shinta as he continued to eat. "I really don't have much to hide."

"How do you know Itachi?" asked Sasuke, interrupting Kakashi.

"Sasuke!" as Kakashi eyed his student, who glared back.

Sakura saw the way Sasuke was looking at Kakashi. "Sasuke?"

"Is this really a conversation we should be having at the dinner table?" said Naomi as she continued to eat.

"Actually yes it is," said Sai to everyone's surprise. "We have been paid to protect the bridge builder, to do this we should make sure the people who are with us are not a threat."

Naomi slowly put her chopsticks down and narrowed her eyes at Sai, "What is that supposed to mean?"

While everyone else was becoming slightly nervous about the tension Sai remained passive, "Well from our travels we've discovered that one of you is connected to the deadliest assassin the world has ever seen." As he gestured to Shinta who was still eating and not caring. "And that another one of you has been hiding their skills from their classmates and is related to the people that are responsible for the greatest tragedy the village has ever seen." Naruto's eyes started twitching as he ate trying to tune out an angry Kurama. "So that does beg the question: What about you? What is your tale?"

Naruto and Shinta both looked at Sai before looking at Naomi who stared back at Sai, she slowly picked up her chopsticks and resumed eating. "Are you sure you would like to know that?"

"That's enough," said Kakashi. "You don't need to say anything if you don't want to. Sai these are our fellow leaf Shinobi and that is not how you treat an ally. I was just going to ask a simple question for Shinta and he could answer if he wanted to."

"Go for it," said Shinta, putting his bowl down finishing his rice. "I'm guessing it's about my dad, so go for it."

"I was just going to ask about your fathers whereabouts?"

"He's dead." said Shinta plainly with no sign of sadness or remorse in his voice.

Kakashi kept looking at the boy. "How?"

"Old age." This silenced the room.

Kakashi for a moment thought he heard wrong. "What? That's impossible! He was a young man when I fought him years ago. He should be in his thirties, young forties tops."

Shinta laughed. "Wrong, he's actually over two decades older than the third hokage."

"What but that would have made him in his nineties."

"He was," said Shinta as he smiled. "You see, years ago when my dad was around his twenties, ran into a clan in the land of demons that had a transformation jutsu that allowed them to permanently transform into someone else. They didn't have much money but they wanted to hired my dad to kill the lord of the lands, normally my father wouldn't do a job for so little money but he told them he would accept if they used an altered version of the jutsu that would keep his body young for the rest of his life. They told him it wouldn't make him immortal, it would just keep him in his prime for the remainder of his days. He accepted and it worked. On the outside it would have appeared the time stopped for him, after that he killed the people of the clan that knew of him and the jutsu. The rest is history."

Kakashi couldn't help but ball his fist in rage. "I can't believe it. Old age."

"Yeah, don't worry you're not alone." said Shinta as he remembered his fathers last moments. "The whole reason my dad ever had me in the first place was because he felt his end coming near. He just didn't know how much he had, though in the end he died with a smile on his face."

"He smiled?" asked Sai, tilting his head showing he was confused.

"Yep," Shinta closed his eyes. "I remember his last words clearly, trust me you don't forget when your father, who your whole life looks like just an older version of yourself rapidly ages into a withering old man. He smiled as it happened, 'No one beat me. I have lived my whole life making enemies, killing all of those who got in my way, I've assisted in the death of a kage in every village I'm the most wanted man in the world and the best part is no one will get vengeance on me no one will have the satisfaction of killing me. I win.' Those were his exact words." Shinta shrugged. "Sorry but he's right. You nor anyone else will be able to claim you've bested him, for an assassin, he truly did win in the end."

"Do you have pride in him," asked Sasuke. "With a man like him as a father, the target on your back is probably massive."

Shinta sat back in his chair and thought for a moment. "To be honest I don't know. I was born just to be his partner and succeed him. He put me through brutal tourturous training, forced me to cut my hair short, keep my appearance simple, do everything he asked, hell he even had me kill several people, and not just other shinobi. He would get kids my age, elderly, hell even whole families for me to practice on. For the longest time I don't think he saw me as anything other than a tool to use, but at the sametime he didn't throw me away and if I was in any danger he would save me. In the end I think he might have regretted it."

The boy stared down at his dying father, the man looked up at his son. "Come close Shinta."

The boy looked around the room, looking for someone before going to his father. "Father there is no one else here but you and me."

The man laughed. "You're here Shinta."

The boy, no Shinta, froze as he looked down at the man. "I...I don't understand?"

"I've taken much from people but the only one I regret is what I've taken from you Shinta." The man raised his hand, putting it on Shinta's head. "It took me ten years to give you a name. You never knew what a regular life was, as a father I failed you in that aspect, I should have given you a better life than the one I had." The man paused for a moment. "Oh come now boy, whip those tears." Shinta didn't even realize he was crying. It was the first time he ever truly felt that his dad was actually talking to him. "Out of everyone in the world you have every reason to hate me, to curse me. When I'm gone, do as you please."

"After that I buried the old man and started traveling. Eventually I ran into Jiraiya who was looking for my old man. He found a small village I could stay in and gave me a few options where I could go to next. After living there for a while I realized I wanted to use what my old man taught me for some good, to make up for some of the shit he had me do." Shinta paused as he remembered some of the things he did for his father. "I won't lie he was a piece of shit and is most likely rotting in the depths of hell, but I don't know if I hate him or not. It's kind of weird to be honest, even after he's been dead for two years I still don't know exactly how I feel about the guy. Though I can say this, I'm not proud at all of any of the shit he did to others and I vow I will never be a monster like him."

Everyone else was silent as they digested what they heard, some of them worried that they had a killer with them while others accepted it. Sai quickly wrote it all down on a scroll before looking back up directly at Naomi. "Now your turn."

"SAI!" Kakashi yelled. "We are going to have a long conversation about accusing your fellow shinobi." before turning to Naomi. "I'm sorry, you don't have to answer if you don't want to."

Naomi took a deep breath. "Fine, I was an escort, happy now."

Everyone was silent as her words echoed for a moment. Naruto put a hand on her shoulder, "Naomi, you don't have to."

"It's fine," said Naomi as she gently took his hand off. "I was a ,escort sex worker, prostitute what ever you wanted to call it. I entertained dirty bastards and every now and then spread my legs for them."

Tsunami went into mother mode. "Okay, how about you guys take this elsewhere, Inari get ready for bed."

"Why?" asked Inari but not to his mother. "Why'd you do it?"

Naomi looked directly at the boy. "I was hungry, when the last good meal is an apple you had years ago, you get desperate. I was an orphan on the streets. A woman came around asking the little orphans if they wanted a job. I was too hungry to say no and I heard about this woman, her name was Madam Koru. She was a former shinobi from some village, I could never figure out. She fought in the last great shinobi war, instead of returning to her village she decided to go into the criminal underworld, it started out with a brothel and soon she was running everything in the city. She would teach her girls some jutsu's to manipulate the clients into enjoying themselves more, loosening their lips, or just making them want to come back for more. It was perfect and very educational." she said, confusing everyone.

"Care to elaborate?" asked Sai.

"It might sound weird but working for Madam Koru was the best thing that could have happened to me, there I learned how to read and write, roof over my head and three square meals a day. Though what it really did was satisfy my thirst for knowledge. For my whole life I'd seen ninjas from all over come to the city do all sorts of different kinds of jutsu's and for years I wondered how they worked. After I started working for Madam Koru she started testing the girls in chakra control and how well they could work with their clients. I was at the top, I learned everything she taught me and then some, eventually I got so good I began serving tea and assisting the older women with the higher end clients. You would not believe how many morons just love to hear the sounds of their own voice, they practically gave blackmail material. I would just bat my eyes and they would just talk about anything, their childhood, how they trained, what jutsu they know and they even gave me demonstrations. Madam Koru herself noticed and taught me a few things and so did the doctor. She was an old lady and secretly a shinobi on a mission. Her people worked from the inside out to take Madam Koru out, which I helped with. Madam Koru showed me what I wanted to know and some of her clients truly disgusted me. Afterwards the doctor found a small town that needed a doctor and dumped me there. It gave me a chance to relax and work on my medical ninjutsu and basic combat. There I met Jiraiya who after hearing my story gave me a few scrolls to fill in the basics I missed and told me if I wanted to I could go to the hidden leaf and become a real shinobi."

"Is that all?"

Naomi gave Sai a heated glare, "I don't like you."

"I'll take that as a yes," as he wrote it down. "So a reject, an assassin and a whore."

This earned a tic mark from Naruto, Shinta and Naomi. "Escort, I would prefer escort." said Naomi

"Difference?"

"I got paid and a lot of the time I didn't exactly want to spread my legs, it was for survival and to achieve my goals."

"And what goals might that be?"

"At first it was knowledge. Now it's to make sure that no one has to live like I did and to make sure that no one like Madam Koru ever exists again," said Naomi. "Does that satisfy your questions?"

"Yes, thank you." as he rolled up the scroll he was writing on, but before he could put it away it was suddenly sliced into tiny bits of paper. Sai looked up to see Naruto's hands extended towards him. 'How did he do that? I didn't sense or hear anything?' he thought nervously as he looked at Naruto. "Why'd you do that?"

"That information is already known to the Hokage and several high ranking jonin on a need to know basis, and you have no authority to keep such information." said Naruto. "Not to mention it's just downright insulting."

"What about you?" they all looked towards Inari as he stared at Naruto. "What happened to you?"

"You don't want to know," said Shinta quickly, which surprised the others, especially Sasuke and Sakura.

"It would be best if we don't go over his life," said Naomi. "Arguably his life is worse than ours."

"What?" said Sakura loudly in disbelief. "You literally just told us you got raped, how can anything in Naruto's life compare to that, he's never had...had someone else be put inside him without his consent." She said trying to phrase it in a way that was more child friendly.

Both Naomi and Shinta slowly looked at Naruto as he was giving Sakura a blank stare. Inside his seal Naruto was looking at Kurama with a blank stare. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?" asked the fox.

Naruto scratched his head. "Well, it's just she kind of just described you."

"I'm not a rapist."

"I didn't say you were, I'm just saying that-"

"I didn't ask to be inside you."

"Don't say it like that."

"How else should I say it?'

Outside the seal Naruto hadn't said a word and was continuing giving off a blank stare. Sakura saw this and was speechless. "Na...Naruto?"

"PTSD?" said Sai, earning looks from the others.

Though both Naomi and Shinta noticed his eye movements and realized he was arguing with Kurama. 'You idiots, now is not the time to be arguing like this.' Yelled both of them in their heads.

Naomi clapped her hands right in Naruto's face. "NARUTO!"

"Huh?" As he came back. "Uh, what were we talking about?"

Shinta grabbed his arm. "Excuse us for a second." As he dragged Naruto outside followed by Naomi.

Kakashi stood up and bowed to Tazuna and his family. "I AM SO SORRY!" He then turned to Sai and grabbed his head and forced him to bow. "This is exactly why we brought you out of the ANBU."

"What did I do?" asked Sai, not knowing what he did wrong.

"I'll come back to this," said Kakashi as he let go of Sai. "Sasuke, Sakura stay here and talk to Sai about what he did wrong, I'm going to go check up on those three." As he left.

Sai tilted his head. "I guess finding out two of them were raped is a bad thing?"

Sasuke facepalmed. "No shit you idiot."

"Naruto." said Sakura in a whisper as a wave of guilt crashed over her.

Sasuke sighed as he looked at everyone in the room. 'We've got a lot of work to do.'

~o~

Shinta let go of Naruto as they were now far away from the house. "This should be good enough." Naruto then began twitching his head rapidly. "Can you please bring him out so we can all talk."

Naruto put his hands together. "Shadow clones Jutsu."

A second Naruto appeared before activating the transformation jutsu turning itself into a human sized nine tailed fox. Kurama blinked before grabbing Naruto. "WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY ANYTHING?"

"HOW COULD I WHEN YOU'RE YELLING AT ME!?" yelled Naruto back as they began arguing back and forth.

Naomi pinched the bridge of her nose. "This is just great. Now who knows what they are thinking right now."

"It's not my fault," yelled the fox. "He's the one who starred like an idiot."

"You're the one who was yelling at me, how could I respond when you're screaming in my ear." Naruto yelled back.

As this continued Shinta noticed someone was coming. "Hey, come to watch the show?"

Kakashi walked up not sure what he was seeing. "Is that the fox?" As he watched the two begging to roll on the ground like two children fighting.

"Yep." said Naomi

"This is the nine tailed fox." he muttered in disbelief. "This isn't how I imagined him being."

"Yeah, watch this," Said Shinta with a grin. "Hey, what's better with ramen. Chicken or beef."

"Chicken/Beef." said both of them before turning to one another.

"Are you insane, chicken goes the smoothest with ramen. It makes it perfect." said Kurama.

"Yeah but beef gives it the juice kick that makes ramen the best." Argued Naruto.

"Chicken!"

"Beef!"

"Chicken!"

"Beef!"

"You've got to be shitting me." said Kakashi watching the pointless argument unfold. "Okay that's enough, you two. We have more important things to talk about." Both of them quieted down as they turned to Kakashi. "Look it doesn't matter how this started but both of you are going to play along with this."

"What!" yelled Naruto. "I don't want to tell people I was raped, that's super fucked up lying about that."

"Yeah, well you can't tell anyone about him." as he pointed at Kurama. "He's a village secret and nobody is supposed to know about him."

"Don't blame this on me, I didn't ask to be inside of him." yelled the fox.

Naomi thought for a moment. "Well technically both of you can say you were violated. Naruto didn't give his consent on housing Kurama and he certainly didn't ask to be inside Naruto so…."

Naruto and Kurama cringed. "I don't want to say I was violated, they're going to get the wrong idea."

"Yeah I don't like that either," said Kurama. "Since I'm the one inside him, it makes me sound like I'm the rapist."

"Wait, that actually makes you uncomfortable?" asked Shinta.

"YES," shouted Kurama. "Remember, two of my former hosts were female and even though none of those creeps succeeded, some did try." He then shivered. "It was disgusting."

This made Naomi a little curious, "Would you have preferred it if it was another fox?"

Kurama slowly turned to Naomi, giving her a look of disgust. "Noooo." but then Kurama went quiet for a moment. "I mean not if I was a human and the fox was female."

Naruto did a double take. "Wait, are you attracted to girl foxes?"

"Not regular foxes, but in my years I've wondered what it would be like if I met a fox like me, not one of my siblings of course, but one that could talk to me and understand me." As Kurama's imagination went on. "Maybe with a nice coat and she could be a little demonic."

"Interesting," said Naomi. "I never thought you would have an interest in companionship."

"Okay, this was a lot more than I needed to know." said Kakashi, not sure how to take all of this. "Look, just find some way to spin this that doesn't reveal the nine tails existence. Okay. Quickly before the others try to come out and see how we're doing."

"You should make it quick," said Shinta as he turned toward the house. "Sakura is standing in the doorway looking towards us."

Naruto and Kurama looked at each other for a moment before cringing. "Okay." as the fox disappeared and Naruto stood up. "Let's get this over with." As they began to walk back. "Hey, how are you doing?"

"I'm doing just fine, it was rather the way he asked me about my past that got to me more than the question itself," said Naomi. "The way he spoke made it sound like I was going to do something against the village." A sinking feeling entered Naomi's gut as she remembered how the doctor dumped her in a small town and then to Jiraiya, the third hokage, Iruka and even Teuchi and Ayame. "This village may have only been my home for a short time but I feel at home here more than I ever have before and I don't want to find a new one anytime soon."

"Don't worry, you won't have to." said Naruto, giving her a reassuring smile.

Shinta also grinned. "Yeah, we will just have to prove ourselves to all the naysayers and show them we are truly the best."

Deep inside the forest was Zabuza's hideout where he was getting a visit from an ugly gremlin named Gato. "So this is how the mighty Zabuza has fallen." as he gestured to zabuza who was stuck in bed. "Well got anything to say for yourself?"

Zabuza summoned his strength and sat up. "You're going to need backup."

"What was that?" yelled Gato as his guards stepped forward. "Are you telling me you couldn't kill a single shinobi and a couple of brats?"

"The Reaper."

Gato felt a chill go up his spine. "What?"

"This was done by a Reaper."

Gato gulped down as his throat suddenly became dry. "You mean the Reaper, as in the assassin? The one all the rumors are about? HIM!?"

"I got a good few hits in but he was full of surprises." said Zabuza as he looked at his sword remembering how it acted against the blond kid. "Him and his allies." as Zabuza thought for a moment. "There's seven shinobi in total, four of them I would say are jonin level."

"Wait, four of them are as strong as you?" Gato was now panicking after hearing that the Reaper might be involved. 'I can't pay off a man like him, what the hell do I do?'

"Haku." said Zabuza, calling his companion.

Suddenly a girl with long black hair in a hunter-nin outfit appeared. "Yes Master Zabuza."

"I'm going to need you to find some people for me," said Zabuza before turning to Gato. "I'll still do this job but I'm doing it my way now, though feel free to hire extra muscle. Things are about to get intense around here and that bridge is going to be covered in blood."

Next Time: Training Before the storm| You want to read this now just head over to my page. ~P-A-T-R-E-O-N~ Lorenzo the story teller. There you can read all chapters a head of time and my exclusive stories.

A/N: Yeah I did mention that there back stories were dark right, anyway what did you guys think of the chapter. If you can't tell the bridge battle will be a bit more than just Zabuza and Haku. Also Haku in this fic is a girl, because when I first watched this show was in Spanish, where she used female pronoun words and was referred to as a girl in the series. I didn't realized Haku was suppose to be a guy until after I finished read Naruto.
