I DO NOT OWN PJO OR BoO, OR ELSE I WOULD BE WRITING MORE BOOKS, BUT NO, I DON'T.

Champions of Fire

(3rd person POV)

It had been a few weeks since the arrivals of the big three's most recent son's, and the boys had integrated nicely into camp. Since they were still quite new, they were still finding their grove in their daily routines, but they always involved each other.

They had also found a little friend group that they call their own. A few kids their age, with similar yet different senses of humor, and they all fit perfectly together.

Firstly, was Ethan, Ethan Deles, he was a very quiet boy, unless he was with his friends. He was almost as tall as CJ, but still slightly shorter, with a very lean build like the Big Three. The height difference was made very obvious by the latter, and he never lived it down. He had bright brown eyes, with very curly brown hair to go along. His hair almost looked like it was permed, but alas, the Aphrodite cabin was having trouble opening their hair salon with Chiron. He wore a black t-shirt with a hammer on the shoulder, and on the front in orange said, 'CAMP HALF-BLOOD'. He also wore black jeans, and white sneakers, which he somehow managed to keep clean. He always had something in his hands, tinkering and messing with metal in his hands, attempting to get something to work. It was always something different, and his power over fire made his ability to form metal almost as easy as molding clay. He was the one of the others that David has saved, and has risen in fame and power in his cabin, being the only fire user within both camps for the last twenty years.

Secondly, was a child of Ares. He was shorter than all of the boys, but not at all weaker. He had an imposing build, not fat but not lean like the others. This was never a bad thing for him, as his trusty weapon of choice was truly a force to recon with. He was very loud, outspoken, and absolutely loved to piss people off. He found enjoyment in poking fun with the rest of the boys, but due to the others nature, slowly but surely was learning the ways of not being ruthless for jokes. He had brown eyes in color, so dark but also bright, they almost looked red. He had dirty blonde hair, but more dirty than blonde. His name was River, River was his only name however, because his mother put him up for adoption before passing her last name. Many had offered to adopt him, but his feisty attitude was always a deterrent to most. So, when Chiron came to pick him up personally, he gladly came. He was the one who had been at camp the longest, at the age of seven he came to camp. He was a major help with the others integrating properly. He standardly wore a red and black flannel, with blue jeans. He also wore combat boots, black in color.

Lastly was Caleb, Caleb Dowers. He was a child of Dionysus, his only child of this generation. Dionysus had kept a very close relationship with his son, actually showing empathy that was very unknown to the rest of the demigods when he arrived at camp. Unfortunately, about a month after Caleb arrived, Dionysus had finished his sentence of being the director of the camp. So, he no longer could visit his son with ease, due to the ancient laws. The rest of Caleb's time at camp however, was much more fun. He was very natural with his powers over nature, with a month of special training with his father, he was excellent. He could make grapes grow at ease, and anything he used was with his nature powers. Such as making chairs in the woods so he and his friends could sit, or using the vines as weapons of pure destruction. He was almost as tall as Avery, but they all had much room to grow. He was similar in build as river, only taller. He had bright green eyes with brown spots. He was a menace when it came to comedy, and fit in with the rest of the group perfectly. He had been there almost as long as river, so when one came, the other was present. Caleb normally wore a hoodie with gray sweatpants, no matter the weather, along with his infamous unbreakable glasses. His glasses were not actually unbreakable; it was just difficult for others to understand his gentle care for his glasses but everything else was messy. He was the strongest with his powers, having a month of high intensity training with his father to learn, but was second in strength out of the group, only slightly behind Dylan.

The boys were currently walking out into the woods, having finished up their shared duties for the day, and currently geared for their favorite game, capture the flag.

Capture the flag used to be so much different, as the group was told, it has evolved over the years, now having more than just two teams. The amount of teams was chosen by a role of a ten sided dice, but no matter what, the faithful six were always on the same team.

Currently, the six were trotting out to their spot, being the only people on their team, they cracked jokes about everything, and laughed as they walked to a clearing they all new very well.

The boys decided on a banner, which was a deep red backdrop with each of their respective elements: Fire, water, lightning, rock and vines, all spinning around each other. The red backdrop was in retribution to River, and his father, Ares.

Today's game was a ten teamed game, so many others did not have as many troops as normal, but the boys knew that they were target number one for multiple reasons.

Firstly, the boys were jokesters, so of course they pulled pranks, and may have pissed off very many cabins.

Secondly, the boys all together were the strongest of the entire camp, and everybody wanted the glory of beating the best of the best. Whether their strength came from their father's domains, or their own power, they were still inarguably the strongest, yet smallest team.

Lastly, they were the smallest team, so everybody knew that if the boys put most of their resources out on offence, like normal, they would have a very weak defense.

The boys were leaning over a small vine table, a true blessing from Caleb, as Ethan unrolled a map that showed where each flag was, and started planning. A look from all the boys showed how truly invested each and every one of them were in this game.

Ethan started, "Okay so as you know, we are in the strongest place for Caleb to show his powers, so Caleb will be solely defending the flag."

Caleb nodded his head and started, "So, with my defense, I will build a vine castle. A strong fortress of solitude that won't be breakable, unless you were Ethan with fire."

Caleb was wearing green and purple hoodie, with each color swirling within each other. His weapon of choice was a two handed battle axe, vine in color and grape for the blade. The weapon itself fit Caleb perfectly, and currently was in the form of its green bracelet on his wrist. He was wearing black sweatpants, typical for him, and black shoes. His face showed one thing, and that was how deep in thought he was and how ready he was to win.

All the boys nodded in response, accepting the plan for defense, as Ethan continued. "CJ, you see the Aphrodite and Ares cabin team to the north," Pointing the dove and dragon flag that had popped up in the most northern part of the forest, with a small clearing next to the massive river along its borders.

"I want you to destroy them, any means necessary. Team two will be ruthless, as they have Emma and Odin leading them." Stated the boy of fire.

"Shouldn't I have some help? I know the water will heal me, but I don't know if I can take up almost an entire army by myself." Said CJ, with a little bit of worry showing through his eyes.

The boys laughed, as River spoke up, "don't worry, once I return the flag I will get, I will come support you."

"River, no you will not." Said the son of fire with a bit of playfulness in his voice. "You probably will have another three armies behind you, so you will return with the flags, and help Caleb hold down the fort, and CJ." CJ then turned and looked up from the map, and Ethan continued, "remember two things, you are the strongest one with your powers in that situation, you could take most of the cabins if you try hard enough. But please do remember, it is a game."

The boy of the ocean nodded his head, and check himself over. He was wearing his deep blue mix hoodie, with black pants, and deep blue shoes with black bottoms. Along his back was a sword, which wasn't exactly his favorite sword for some reason. He had his emergency med's, which was a case of ambrosia squares, in his pocket. He was also wearing his standard silver trident on his chest. He also had his grandfather's dog tags on, which was kept tucked under all his clothes and resting on his chest.

He turned back to the conversation with Avery attacking the Satyr's and Demeter cabin team's, using the woods in the west and their shadows to their advantage. After all, team nine was a very defensive team, and Avery was learning to use the shadows to his advantage.

Avery nodded in response, and spoke, "They won't know what hit them," and grinned like a mad man. His very long spear matched his height, but wasn't quite right for him. That didn't matter however, as he was wearing all black, from head to toe, a t-shirt, black pants, and shoes. All black.

"Dylan, you will be attacking the powerhouse team six. Their range can only be matched from you by your range. Your lightning will definitely make a few people go night night." Said the forge boy, which caused laughter to erupt from all the boys.

Dylan was wearing the opposite of Avery's wardrobe. The son of the skies was wearing a very bright blue t-shirt with lightning bolts going down the side of it, very fitting for him. He also had storm gray pants on with some cloud white shoes on, and he was jumping for joy for more lightning practice. He currently didn't have a weapon, and felt as if using his fists were much more efficient.

Ethan started one more time, this time pointing to the most southern part of the map. "River, you are going to take on team four, which is down here. You have enough strength on your own to battle with them. You need to prove that you are the toughest, and can kick some butts."

River only nodded, with a devious look in his eyes. He was wearing his signature outfit: the lumberjack flannel, blue jeans, and black combat boots. He had his weapon of choice, also not exactly right for him. It was a classic battle axe, made to be one handed. This weapon was River's favorite, and was a true menace to be up against.

CJ looked towards his close friend, and asked, "where will you go candle?" and with this Ethan smiled at his nickname.

"well, water boy, I will be facing team five, as fire destroys the magic circles of the Apollo and Hecate cabin. One thing for sure, I will be causing some destruction." Ethan said, with a mythical look on his face. He was wearing a flame red hoodie, with small dual daggers on his belt. He was also wearing black pants, and bright red and yellow shoes.

CJ sighed, and looked towards the center of the battle area, which was a combination of woods, plains, and hills, all within a three-mile radius. He saw on the map, that the Hunters of Artemis had finally arrived, and this would be a struggle match.

Dylan, having noticed the Hunter's flag on the map, and spoke, "well, at least we will have some competition, and I'll get to see my half-sister."

The boys all nodded, and CJ stepped forward. "Boys, we are sons of some of the strongest gods, and we are legends. To think that we will fail, is to already lose, we are going to win and absolutely demolish the competition. I have full faith in each and every one of you, as much as you have in me. Let's win this thing, who's with me?" CJ then stuck his hand forward and up, and made his hand into a fist.

In response, he got three yes's, two rights, and one 'DUHH' and they put their hands together.

"OLYMPUS ON ME, OLYMPUS ON THREE, ONE TWO THREE," Shouted the son of the king.

All the boys threw their hands into the air and screamed the word at the top of their lungs, now truly ready.

The boys smiled and laughed with each other, knowing that this next week will be long, and tiring.

Oh, that was another thing that changed about capture the flag, was that it was no longer a battle over an hour. The game itself took a week out of the entire schedule of the campers. All other plans, unless deemed emergencies, were set aside for the week. Two great prophecies had scarred the camp, and had in turn caused camp to change some of their battle games. Granted, the battles were all in a safe manner, never with the intent to kill. Also, there were our time gaps for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a ten-hour gap for sleep. Nobody was allowed on the field during these times, and any battles would immediately cease, no matter the turn out.

Anybody who was severely injured would release their battle flare, which allowed the field medics, mostly Apollo children and some Hecate kids who decided to sit out of the games, to come and take them to the medical tent on standby.

All the boys took their positions, ready to disperse. They had their flag protected by the strongest defense, in the farthest east they could go, and they were ready.

Then the conch horn blew.
