The Congressman's Wife
Chapter 6

5:30 pm
Following the identification of Fiona Marquardt, the team rushed back to the RACRR room, where Sharon, Dr. Joe and Mike were waiting for them. Amy told Christian Marquardt she would be over by seven o'clock and the team needed to develop a plan quickly to be in Pacific Palisades by the agreed upon time.
When the team walked in and saw him, they got excited. It had been a long time since they had seen him and knew he would have the perfect insight as to how to speak with the children.
Myra, already guessing she would be going with them; went to her office to pull the recording devices she knew she would need to get on them.
"Mike, Dr. Joe and I will stay here and monitor through RACRR." Sharon told the group. "Amy and Wes, I want both of you to go into the house to notify the kids. Myra needs to make sure you have an earpiece so Dr. Joe can talk to you, Amy. I want the rest of you outside positioning yourselves away from the cameras that Buzz, Andy and the Lieutenant saw earlier. All nodded their heads in agreement.
Dr. Joe gave Amy talking points of how to speak with the children.
"I think that sounds like an awesome plan, Sharon." Andy told her while giving her the smile that melted her every time she saw it.
"Suck up." Provenza coughed out.
Sitting next to him, Andy looked at his friend in disbelief "What?" he asked in a long drawn-out, high-pitched voice. "It is a good plan."
"You two are married now, Flynn. You can stop sucking up to the Commander." Provenza told his friend.
Andy went to respond but looked over at Sharon before he did.
Sharon glared at both of them. "Knock it off, you two. We don't have a lot of time before you all have to leave and we need to make sure we are on the same page."
Both looked at each other and then Sharon as though they had both been chastised by the schoolmarm. The rest of the team were giggling under their breaths at the faces of their two senior officers.
Just then, Myra walked in. "What did I miss?" she asked innocently. Without prompting, the team with the exception of Andy and Provenza busted out laughing. 'I'll tell you on the way." Amy told her.
"Sykes!" Provenza yelled to her. "Just for that, you will ride with Andy and I." Sykes held up her hands in a what motion.
Myra walked to each detective to hook up their camera and tested it on the RACRR screens.
After all cameras were attached, the detectives headed out to the home of Christian Marquardt.
Even with the Los Angeles traffic, the team was able to get into place by seven pm.
As Amy was ready to get out of the car following an hour ride that had Provenza and Flynn sounding more like a married couple than partners, Provenza looked at her with a proud grin and said "You got this Sykes. Let's see if this son of a bitch wanted his wife dead."
