I'm honestly surprised that this bizarre story based off one night of a weird thought is getting any sort of views or follows. Me and my odd brain says thank you.

Jane joined Korsak, Frost and Maura at the Dirty Robber one night. Korsak had gotten a side job as a bartender, Maura came because it's what they usually did after a rough case. What was odd was Frost, he was tucked away in a corner making out with some woman. Jane was sure it was the third girl she's seen Frost within a month's time.

What also had her concerned was Korsak, he kept on glaring over at Frost, Jane swore she seen a flash of sadness in the older man's eyes. Jane was trying to observe more when Maura rested her hand on her thigh, distracting the woman.

"Jane, was something the matter?" Maura asked, so innocently Jane couldn't help but moan.

"I um... no..." she bit her bottom lip.

"Did you want to go home? My bed has been empty the past couple of days, it's missing it's usual companion," she whispered so only Jane could hear, sliding her hand up a little further up her thigh.

"How can I say no to that? I don't think we're going to make it to the bed."

"Why not?" Maura asked, curious of what she had in mind.

"The backseat of my car is closer, much closer." Jane smirked and Maura put down the cash, taking Jane by the hand pulling her outside.

Korsak cleaned up the counter, sighing, at least he knew Jane and Maura had their emotions and feelings under control. He walked over to Frost and whoever she was. "Hey, I'm fixing to close up, mind taking this elsewhere?"

The woman pulled away from Frost, "Oh I must have lost track of time, I have to get home to my kid."

Frost looked at the woman, "You never told me you had a kid."

"Oh sweetie I must have forgotten," she laughed, getting up from the table. "Oh and don't tell my girlfriend about this."

"Girlfriend?" Frost asked, and she felt even more embarrassed as she left the bar.

"Well she sounds like a delight, how long have you known this woman this time?" Korsak rolled his eyes, cleaning the table.

"I don't have to explain myself to you Vince," Frost got up from the chair and Korsak grabbed him by the hand.

"Is that what you're doing? Trying to just piss me off, throwing some woman in my face that you seem to know shit about."

"Let go of my hand," Frost looked at the older man. "You said it was over between us, you couldn't deal with the fact I wanted to hide this from people. Jane is getting more suspicious each day, I told you to stop looking at me a certain way."

"Well I'm sorry if I can't help it, I can't help the way I look at you, it just happens. You just don't seem to realize how much you've been hurting me. This isn't you Frost, you don't just fuck with other people, you don't avoid situations that are bothering you."

Frost shrugged him off, "I don't know what you want from me."

"I want you to just be yourself, stop trying to be someone that you're not. I want you to not give a damn about what people think, I want you to just embrace who you are."

"Yeah, and what am I then since you seem to be such an expert?"

"You're Barry fuckin' Frost, you never seemed to care when we were being intimate with each other, you didn't care when you... When it's just me and you, that's all it feels like. Just two people who have a connection, but if you want to go avoid it then go ahead. I'll just stop caring because that seems to be what you've done," Korsak shook his head, continuing cleaning the bar, flipping the chairs up on the table.

Frost just stood there, he honestly had no idea Korsak was feeling this way, he was trying to avoid everything going on, his feelings for the older man, he didn't like knowing he was causing Korsak so much pain though. Sure they still didn't fully know each other, Frost had only been with the BPD for a couple of months, he took Jane away as Korsak's partner, he was still confused on how Korsak's anger turned into something else. Turned into something Frost never even dreamed of, turned into this angst but attraction, this need to be around the man who confused him so.

"Hey Barry, get out of the bar, it's closing now. I can't just let you stay in here," Korsak spoke in a tone that kind of startled the younger detective. "Come on, out now," he all but pushed Frost out of the door.

The next evening Korsak was on his couch, drinking a beer and watching a game on television. He heard a knock on his door, he didn't know who it could be at this hour.

"Korsak, why haven't you been answering your phone?" Frost asked as soon as the man opened the door.

"What happened? Why do you look so upset?" he hasn't seen anyone this panicky since Hoyt.

"He got to Jane..."

"How I thought he was in jail."

"He got transferred to a hospital and he killed two doctors before escaping. Jane's not doing well, Maura said she's at the hospital right now. So come on," Frost insisted, Korsak threw on his jacket and was out of the door with Frost in tow as they headed to the hospital.

Maura was sitting beside Jane's bed, holding her hand, she had tears in her eyes and looked up at the men who entered the room. "They said she's in a coma and there's no telling when she'll wake up. If she'll remember things or not."

Frost and Korsak shared a sad look before Frost stepped forward and pulled the medical examiner into his arms. "Hey Maur, Jane is such a strong person she'll get out of this and everything will be okay," he rubbed her back, trying to calm her down, even just a little bit.

Seeing Frost comfort Maura warmed Korsak's heart, he looked to Jane on the hospital bed, and his heart broke. He remembered the first time he seen Jane after Hoyt got to her. This time she looked worse. He didn't want to see her like this again. He walked out of the room, his hand balling up in a fist as he hit the closest wall.

Soon Angela and Frankie had come to see Jane and comfort Maura. Frost stepped out of the room, "Jane is in good hands now. How are you feeling?" Frost rested his hand on Korsak's arm.

"She shouldn't be in here, the last time this happened it destroyed Jane, completely wreaked her."

"Hey Jane is strong, there's nothing she can't handle."

"How can you be so sure?"

"Because she'd be pissed if she knew you were thinking otherwise," Frost stated matter-of-factly, with a smile. "We have to think positive Vince. Positive through everything, thinking negatively gets no one anywhere. Jane is the strongest person we know, that's what you told me when I first met her."

"You sound so wise Barry. You're so optimistic, and I've missed you. I've missed your high spirits."

Frost just shrugged, "You haven't missed much."

"I beg to differ. I miss you Frost. I miss us." Korsak stepped close to the younger man.

"You're emotional over this Jane situation. We're here for her and to comfort Maura not to start things back up again. I'm going to go back in there feel free to join us when you're ready," Frost went back into Jane's hospital room.

Korsak plopped down on the chair in the waiting room and rubbed at his face feeling absolutely defeated.

A long week and a half has passed, Jane was finally awake from her state of comatose. Korsak had lost some weight and Jane noticed right away. Korsak was visiting Jane while Maura was at work.

"You haven't been taking care of yourself, have you?" Jane sat up, drinking some water. "Has Maura been eating and everything?"

"Yeah she has been here all the time, minus when she had to work. Her, Frost and I keep on taking shifts."

"I really wish you guys didn't avoid life while I was here. Should I even ask how Ma is?"

"Cavanaugh has been there for her. He really takes care of her it's nice to see considering who she was married to before."

Jane rolled her eyes, "Oh yes of course my father. I bet he didn't visit or Tommy..."

"No I'm sorry."

"So besides probably starving yourself how are things? Last I remember the happiness you had faded and you kept on giving Frost long sad glances. What is that all about? Because my brain is thinking there's something going on there and it's really odd. Is my mind playing tricks on me or are you, or well, were you and him... God I can't believe I'm asking if you were or are involved with Frost."

Korsak looked at Jane and slumped his shoulders. "I hardly call it being involved with each other, things happened a few times and that was that. Frost and I are no longer a we, we never really were anything to begin with."

Jane sighed out in relief, "Okay thank God I'm not going crazy. Maybe you should involve yourself with someone your age. He's like my age, I love Frost and I love you, but you two don't exactly go together, you know what I mean?"

"I know what you mean I just... I can't explain it, our tension just led to whatever we had, and I'm still trying to face the fact that it's gone."

"It's for the best though, trust me on this," Jane reassured him. "You'll meet a nice man or woman, whatever the hell your preference is these days."

"Is it really for the best though Jane?" Korsak asked, leaning back in his chair. That was the real question, sure it was odd and strange being with Frost but there was something about him that made Korsak feel young again, feel worth something. Korsak in this moment felt absolutely hopeless.
