The next day, after a long night of restless sleep, Justin texted Vinnie that he'd be coming over to pick up Momo. He would've done it sooner but with the Aiko situation, it caused a delay.
He walked up to Vin's doorstep and knocked. The buff ginger man opened the door. He was happy to see him.
"Hi, Justin." he greeted.
"Hey, Vin." he replied. He let him in. Momo saw him and smiled, giving him a big hug.
"Welcome back, Master!" she said, tightly squeezing him. It was good to see her again.
"Yeah. Good to see you, Momo. Were you good for Vinnie?"
"Yep! Me and him had so much fun. We should plan a day together."
This made Justin happy to hear. Seems like she liked Vinnie.
"So, how was the vacation?" he asked.
"Uh... It was good, I guess." he said with a bit of hesitation.
"You guess?" he asked. "Did anything bad happen?"
"Well, yeah. Some setbacks did occur but you wouldn't care."
"I would care. Is something wrong? Your tone seems very off." he asked. Yep, there was concern in him.
"Okay, look Vin. I had a decent vacation. It's just that one of my friends was depressed and she left early. I came home yesterday evening to her unconscious on the floor. She overdosed on alcohol and pills. She's in the hospital and in a temporary coma."
He gasped. "Damn. What was wrong with her?"
"She was suffering some severe depression. I apparently acted a bit stubborn towards her and that's probably why she left and attempted suicide. It's ironic because the same thing happened to me a few months ago."
He frowned. He knew Justin wasn't really stubborn. However, Vin was very stubborn, especially when aggravated.
"I'm sorry that happened to you, Justin. I hope your friend recovers and you two can make amends. I don't think you're stubborn. I'm probably worse than you, especially towards my deadbeat brother. I should kick his ass."
He then remembered something: Kyanna. He had forgotten to tell him about the incident a couple of months ago.
"So, have you heard from Kyanna since I left?"
"No, I haven't. You mentioned that before you left. What's with that?"
"I never told you this, but a couple of months ago, Me, Nora, and Kyanna got lunch and she so happened to invite your brother, Pablo, who was dating her at the time. They broke up and I told her that you were interested in a woman. She said she'd see you and give you a chance, since Pablo was a racist loser."
"You didn't have to do that, Justin. Even if Pablo has stolen most of the girls away from me, I'm probably better off being single. I enjoyed babysitting Momo more than anything."
He grinned. "I just thought it'd be nice. But, I'm glad you and Momo got along. How did you manage to get her to eat that turkey on Thanksgiving? She never eats meat."
"I just put some catnip in it." he admitted.
"Wait, you drugged Momo?" he asked, slightly shocked.
"I wasn't drugged, Master. I was just a little loopy and giggly." Momo said.
"I still don't think you doing drugs is a good idea, for you at least. I'm glad you ate turkey though."
"Yeah, it was so tasty! I especially like it with gravy."
"I guess that means you'll start eating hamburgers then, right?" he asked.
"I might. But, I prefer turkey or chicken. I won't eat fishies though."
"Alright, Momo. I'll take your word for it. But, thank you so much for watching her, Vin. I appreciate it."
"It's no problem, Justin. We all need to hang out sometime. Where does she like to go?" he asked.
"I love the hiking trail! I get to run around all I want." she answered.
He nodded. He liked the hiking trail too.
Justin and Momo left Vinnie's house and headed back home. It felt like things were going a little smoother. Though, he was still thinking about Aiko. Hopefully, she would wake up soon.
