Six weeks ago, Emma and Caitlynn were looking at Merlin's memories with a dream catcher. "Well, that's sad." Caitlynn remarked.

Still, six weeks ago. They were in the woods as Regina sighed. "You really think giving the dagger to Arthur is the best way to help Emma?" She looked at Snow and Charming, they weren't aware that Emma and Caitlynn were watching them.
"We trust him." Snow replied firmly.
"Implicitly." Charming added.
Regina glanced at him. "Did you learn those big words at shepherd school? How do you know you can trust him?"
"Because we're good judges of character." David replied to her. "And we would never act against Emma's best interest."
"Is the dagger in there?" Snow asked as they had arrived by a tree stump.
Just then, Regina pulled the dagger from a tree stump. Regina sighed. "Are you sure handing the one thing that can control your daughter over to Arthur is the right thing to do?"
"Have you lost the power of comprehension? Hand over the da..." Snow was interrupted as Caitlynn froze her parents, Emma stood beside her.
Regina looked at the twins. "What are you doing? When did you get so liberal with dark magic?"
"No choice. Arthur has them under some kind of spell." Caitlynn replied to her.
"He wants them to bring him the dagger." Emma added. "He wants to reunite it with Excalibur."
"Unite it?" Regina asked confused.
"It was once one blade. It was broken in half a long, long time ago." The twins said on the same time.
"What happens when they're together?" Regina asked to them.
"He wants to kill Merlin with it." Emma replied first.
Then Caitlynn sighed. "I don't have to tell you how bad that would be for all of us."
"How do you know this?" Regina looked at them. "How do I know this isn't the darkness in you rearing its head?"
"We are speaking the truth, Regina." Caitlynn replied to her. "Believe us or don't. the choice is yours."
"It's true." Emma added. "We don't have a lot of time. Arthur's expecting them soon."
"He's the king." Regina looked in disbelieve. "So you want to take on all of Camelot?"
"We want to free Merlin first." Emma replied to her.
"Then We can help our parents and stop Arthur." Caitlynn added.
"That's a great plan, but we have no idea how to get him out of the tree." Regina comment.
"You already said it..." Caitlyn smirked. "Dark magic."
"No." Regina shook with her head. "You can't keep using it."
"It's a risk we are willing to take." Emma told her.
"Careful, Emma, Caitlynn." Regina told them. "I've been on that slippery slope. You know where it got me."
"All due respect... I'm not you." Emma told her.
"Me neither." Caitlynn added.

Meanwhile, with Jackson, Amelia and Aubrey. They were outside with Jonathan, their distant cousin. "So, how did you found us?" Jackson asked to him.
"Merlin." Jonathan replied to him. "He can communicate with me."
"How so?" Amelia asked as she held Aubrey hand gripped into hers.
"I'm the only male known to have magic, M'lady." Jonathon replied to her. "What I know off."
"Okay." Amelia nodded.
"Well, I know that I have no magic, so how can you have magic?" Jackson asked confused.
"I don't know, Jackson." Jonathan replied to him.
"Well, tell me this, how can you communicate with Merlin?" Jackson asked to him.
"Merlin communicate with me in my head." Jonathon pointed to his head.
"And how long has that going on?" Amelia asked to him.
"A few years, M'lady." Jonathon replied to her.
"So that's when you knew to come here and find us?" Amelia asked to him.
"Yes, M'lady." Jonathon nodded to her. "That's when."
"And why should we believe you?" Jackson asked to him.
"When Merlin is out of this tree, he will you the same thing." Jonathon replied to him.
"Okay, we will see then." Jackson nodded.

Sometime later, in Merlin's tower. "First, we need to know how the potion you've been working on will react to our dark magic." The twins told on the same time. "Bring us the vial."
Regina looked at them. "I'm not doing a damn thing until you two tell me how you knew David and Mary Margaret were under a spell."
"We don't have time for this." Emma sighed.
"Make time." Regina hissed.
"Fine." Emma sighed as she revealed a dreamcatcher. "I saw it in this... A dreamcatcher."
Regina looked at the dreamcatcher. "Emma, this is dark magic."
"I know." Emma nodded as Caitlynn watched as her sister explained. She had already heard it from her adopted mother, about Arthur, just everything.
"These things catch more than dreams." Regina told her.
Emma sighed. "I know."
"And you have to wave it over someone to capture a memory." Regina added.
"I don't." Emma explained it to her. "This dark magic is stronger, more unpredictable than any magic I've ever used. The image just appeared. It showed me what Arthur did to them. Look, it's gonna be okay. The dreamcatcher also showed me a memory that's going to help us. Merlin's. I saw him. Merlin wept for the loss of the only woman he ever loved moments before the Dark One trapped him in the tree... using one of his tears."
"Emma, that's it. Sometimes, spells are like snakebites." Regina smirked. "You can make the antivenom with the venom. If a tear of lost love trapped Merlin... Then another one might be able to get him out. So, what do you say? Let's go get ourselves a tear."
"And I know how." Caitlynn said something for the first time in their conversation.

Present time in Emma's house. There was a knock on the door as Emma walked outside, Caitlynn and the others were in their own house. Henry looked at his mother. "Do you remember why I first brought you to Storybrooke?"
"Of course..." Emma nodded. "Operation Cobra. Bring back all the happy endings."
"Well, your mission isn't over." Henry told her.
Emma sighed. "Henry, things are different now."
"They don't have to be." Henry looked at his mother. "Show me that the mom I know is still in there somewhere."
"She is. This is me." Emma pointed at herself.
"Then prove it." Henry smiled at his mother. "Help me return my friend's happy ending."
Not much later, Henry told his mother everything as she comment, walking towards her car. "So, the horse likes pumpkin, huh?"
Henry followed his mother. "Yeah. Violet's dad is out trying to lure it with some."
"Back in my bail-bondsperson days, I caught a guy because he loved pizza, but I didn't walk around randomly holding a slice of pepperoni. There is a better way." Emma told him as then she was by the car and texted her sister that she and Henry went to find a horse.
"I've missed this... us. Operation Cobra." Henry comment.
"Me too." Emma smiled as then she and Henry get into Emma's yellow bug. "So, tell me about you and Violet."
"She's okay." Henry nodded. "We like some of the same stuff."
"Like what?" Emma asked to him.
"I played her some music, and she was into it." Henry replied to her.
Emma looked at him. "What did you play?"
"Yaz." Henry replied to her.
"What song?" Emma asked curious.
"Only You." Henry replied.
Emma looked at him. "Did your dad teach you that move?"
Henry looked at his mother. "He said it always works."
"Did with me. He loved that song." Emma smiled.
"It's a good song." Henry comment.
Emma nodded. "Yeah, it is." Engine turned over. "Okay. Let's get your girl's horse. I have a good idea where to start." Then they went away to find the horse.

Meanwhile, with Caitlynn and the others. They were looking for Jonathon, their distant cousin. When they found him, he was in the camp with the other people from Camelot, they approached him. "You are Jonathan, right?" Jackson asked to him.
The man, Jonathon turned around and looked at him. "Yes." He told him.
"Well, my daughter told me that you are my distant cousin." Jackson told him.
Jonathon nodded. "Have we met in Camelot?"
"Yes." Amelia replied this time.
"Ah." He nodded. "And what happened in Camelot, that I was send here with all the others?"
"I will tell you everything." Caitlynn replied to him as she stepped forwards.
"Okay, m'lady." Jonathon nodded to her.
Then Caitlynn told him everything as well.

Later, Jonathon had confirmed everything to Caitlynn and the others, from what she had told him. "Yes, everything what you told is true." He nodded to her.
"Okay." Caitlynn nodded.
"Why don't you come with us?" Amelia asked to Jonathon.
"Where to, m'lady?" Jonathon asked confused.
"To my house, where you are away from tents." Caitlynn replied to him.
"No." Jonathon shook with his head. "Sorry, I don't want to leave my people behind. Not yet."
"We understand." Amelia nodded.
"Thank you." Jonathon smiled at them.
"Your welcome." Amelia said to him.
"We should go." Caitlynn looked around her. "People noticed us."
Jackson glanced at them. "We should."
"Well, we see you around." Amelia told to Jonathon.
"Yes." He nodded.
"Well, okay." Jackson sighed.
Just then, Caitlynn and the others disappeared in a white/purple smoke.

Six weeks ago in the woods. Henry was practicing swinging a sword as Reinga, Emma and Caitlynn approached him. "Henry! Careful."
Henry looked at his mother's and aunt. "Hey... Moms, Aunt Cait. I was, uh... getting in the Camelot spirit. You know... trying to understand this world."
Emma raised an eyebrow. "By sword fighting?"
"W-well, Sir Morgan, Violet's father, had a little advice for me to fit in." Henry told them. "That's all. Trouble is, I'm not sure if I'm ever gonna be good at this knight stuff."
"You should never change who you are." Caitlynn told him. "Not if isn't you own choice."
Emma looked at her son. "Well, if you're not, you're not, but... changing so someone likes you never works. I mean, I... I liked your dad because he was always himself."
"But... but maybe, if I try, I could be something better than I am." Henry nodded to Emma and Caitlynn as then he looked at Regina. "If you didn't change for the better, you wouldn't be with Robin."
"True." Regina nodded. "But do you really think a girl from Camelot would be interested in someone who's just like every other boy around here? Remember when I told you about Daniel?"
"Yeah." Henry nodded, smiling at his mother. "Your first love."
"Mm-hmm." Regina hummed. "And it wasn't because he tried to impress me by being like the others. It was because he was so different... So unique."
Emma stepped forwards to her son. "Henry, in Camelot, you're a mysterious stranger from an exotic land."
"That's a good thing." Caitlynn added.
"I think I can work with that." Henry nodded to them. "Thanks. I have to go make a few arrangements."
Regina turned to the twins. "Emma, Caitlynn. I think I might know where to get our missing ingredient to free Merlin. From me."
"Good to hear." Caitlynn comment.

They were back in Regina's room as the twins set everything up as Regina sat in a chair, across was Emma and Caitlynn. "All right, Regina." The twins said on the same time. "This is going to be intense. Last chance to back out."
Then Caitlynn added. "I can also do it, cause I lost Gold." She sighed. "Technically."
"No, I can take it." Regina sighed as Emma give her the dreamcatcher.
Emma looked at her. "Look into the circle."
They all saw the scene that was playing in the dreamcatcher, it was the Enchanted Forest, that was Many years ago, at the stables at Cora's castle. Then, Cora looked at Regina and Daniel. "So, this is your decision? This will make you happy?"
Regina smiled at her mother. "It already has."
"Then who am I to stop you?" Cora asked to them.
"Thank you, Mother." Regina told her mother.
Cora gestured to Daniel to follow her. "Daniel. If you want to have a life together, a family, then there's one important lesson I can impart on you. It's what it means to be a parent. You always have to do what's best for your children." Then she moved to take Daniel's heart and kill him.
Regina gasped. "Mother!" she runs towards Daniel's body, sobbing. "No! No!"
Then the scene stopped playing as Emma sighed, sadly. "I'm sorry."
Regina sobbed. "It was like it was happening all over again."
Then Caitlynn captured Regina's tear. "Got it. Thank you." She looked at her. "I didn't know how things were for you. I... didn't know..."
"You could see it, too?" Regina looked at the twins.
"Yeah." Caitlynn nodded.
"I'm so sorry." Emma added her. "I don't understand how a mother could do something like that."
Regina scoffed. "She thought it was for the best." Then she sighed.
"That was clearly not for the best." Caitlynn scoffed.

Present time, Caitlynn and the others were back as Caitlynn had a feeling that someone was in her sister's house. She went over to a mirror and saw that Regina, Robin, Belle and Hook were on the porch, but she couldn't hear what they saying, only what they were doing as then Gold went over to her, Jackson and Amelia were looking after Aubrey. "What are you doing?" Gold asked her curious.
"Looking into them mirror." Caitlynn replied to him. "Regina and the others are on Emma's porch."
"Why would they do that?" Gold asked confused.
"Well, they believe that Emma is hiding something." Caitlynn replied to him as Regina and the others went inside the house and made their way to the cellar, then it was revealed that they saw the sword was in the stone. "I'm glad that is the fake one." She comment.
"Excalibur?" Gold asked to her.
"Yeah." Caitlynn nodded. "We still need a hero to pull it out."
"We will find one." Gold reassured her.
Caitlynn nodded. "I know."
Then Gold hugged her from behind her, putting his hand on her stomach. Then he changed the subject. "I'm curious to know what we are having."
Caitlynn put her hands on his hands. "Me too." She waved a the mirror as Regina and the others disappeared and she turned around to face him. "Why don't we go to the doctor?" She suggested.
"It's a good idea." Gold nodded.

Six weeks ago, by Merlin's tree. Regina looked at Emma. "Go on, Emma. Do it. Arthur could be here any second." It was now sizzling. "And now for the final ingredient... the tear." The potion poofs, smoked and then the smoke went back into the pot. "It should've worked. It should have worked!"
"I told you, you should have used me." Caitlynn told them.
"No, your husband is in a coma, it could never work." Regina sighed.
Then, Emma looked at Regina. "Regina... it's simple. Your heartbreak wasn't strong enough."
"What?!" Regina scoffed.
"Well, she meant that moved on." Caitlynn replied to her.
"No, no, I know it was real." Emma added. "But there's Robin now. You've moved on. You've healed."
Just then, Henry approached them all. "Hey. Sorry I'm late."
Emma looked at her son. "Henry, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm... I'm fine." Henry nodded.
Regina shook with her head. "No, you're not. What happened?"
"Your mom's right." Caitlynn told ho her nephew. "What's happened?"
Emma looked at him. "Henry?"
"I don't want to talk about it." Henry sighed.
"You can tell us anything." Emma told him as the other two nodded.
Henry looked at them. "I tried doing what you said. I tried acting like myself." His voice breaking a little. "But she didn't want anything to do with me."
"That's her problem." Caitlynn comment. "You are an amazing guy, Henry. If she doesn't want you, who cares…" She got disapproving looks from Emma and Regina. Then, she looked at them and sighed. "And will stop talking." Henry had a small smile on his face.
Emma sighed. "Henry."
"Violet's right." Henry looked at them. "In this world, I'll never be a hero."
"You may not be a hero in her world..." Regina wiped away a tear by henry. "But you will be in ours." Sighing. "This'll work. This tear. Your tear, Henry."
Henry looked hopeful. "It can free Merlin?"
"You can save us, kid." Emma nodded.
"Indeed." Caitlynn nodded as well.
Henry sniffled, but smiled as he wanted to say something, but was interrupted by King Arthur and his knights. Little did they know that they were watched by Jonathon, who didn't want to reveal himself yet. "Stop!" He shouted to them. "Stay away from the tree. I won't ask twice. You and your people have done nothing but lie to me ever since you got here. You're no savior. You're a fraud."
"Go ahead." Regina snarled as a fire ball appeared in her hand. "Call me a fraud again. I dare you."
King Arthur pointed at them. "We welcomed you, celebrated you. And in return, you bring the Dark Ones into the heart of my kingdom, endangering all who live here. Give me the dagger!"
"You want it?" Regina asked.
"Come and get it." Caitlynn smirked, knowing that the real dagger was safe.
"Now, Emma." Regina shouted as then Emma put the napping into the potion as it started to work.
Emma looked at it as the smoke was coming out of it. "It's working!"
"Charge!" King Arthur shouted as then Jonathon appeared before them, creating a shield. Then Emma used both light and dark magic to free Merlin, while Regina throws magical fireballs at King Arthur and his knights. Caitlynn stood before Henry as she also throws fire balls.
Then Merlin was freed as he put down he hood from his face. "I've been waiting for you... Emma." He looked at her as then he looked at King Arthur. "And you... The boy who would be king. My great hope. How you've disappointed me."
King Arthur scoffed. "I disappointed you? You gave me false prophecies. Sent me on an impossible quest!" He grabbed his sword. "You ruined my life!"
Merlin waved it away. "Put it away, Arthur. We both know that broken sword can't hurt me."
King Arthur did what was told. "This is not finished." Then he and his men went away.

Later, they were in Granny's Diner. Merlin waved with his arms. "There." He comment as snow and Charming were unfrozen and not siding with King Arthur anymore. "That should do it."
Snow looked at her daughters. "Emma, Caitlynn. We're so sorry."
"If we would have known how bad Arthur was..." Charming sighed. "we never would have confronted him on our own."
Amelia stepped forwards. "I told Caitlynn, what had happened to you two."
"Yes, you did." Caitlynn smiled. "And I told Emma."
Then, Emma interrupted them. "It's okay. I'm just glad Merlin could help."
"Merlin?" Charming looked at Merlin surprised. "Y-you're... Merlin?"
"Expecting someone..." Merlin was interrupted by Charming.
"Older." Charming told him.
Merlin sighed. "Yes. Well, let's just say that being a tree... good for your skin."
Jonathon laughed at that. "Good to see you in person."
"Yes, you too." Merlin nodded to him.
The others looked confused as then, Hook changed the subject. "Well, now that the Great Sorcerer is among us, maybe he'll tell us. Can you do what your apprentice said? Can you free Emma and Caitlynn from the darkness?"
"Sure." Merlin nodded. "But with a caveat. Darkness like this takes a hold of a person or persons in this case, find its way deep inside, where nobody else can see. So if I am to free you two from its grasp, I must know one thing." He looked at the twins. "Emma, Caitlynn, is your heart truly ready to be free? Because it is as much up to you two as me."
