Caitlynn looked at Jonathon, who had found them and wanted to help them. "I changed my mind, I want to come here." He pointed at Caitlynn. "To your house."
Caitlynn glanced at her sister, who was also there. "He can help us."
"He can." Emma nodded, sensing that he's a good guy. Amelia was busy with Aubrey upstairs, only Jackson and Gold where here with them as well.
"With what?" Jonathon asked confused.
"With Excalibur." Caitlynn replied to him.
Jonathon had his eyes widen. "You think I can pull it out?"
"Yes." Emma nodded.
"But do you want to?" Caitlynn asked to him.
Jonathon nodded. "Yes, but I want to get to know you all."
"Okay." Caitlynn nodded.
"That's fine by me." Jackson told them.

6 weeks ago, in the dungeon, a flash of light make knights blind. Hook and Charming entered first as they fight against them and win. Then Merlin used his powers on a knight to knock out him, followed by Amelia and Jonathon, who took two more knights out. Then, Hook looked at Merlin. "Not bad for a bloke who spent the last thousand years in a tree." Then Belle followed them as well.
"Just like riding a bike." Merlin comment.
"Well, it won't be long before Arthur knows we're here." Charming told them.
"How do you know what a bike is?" Amelia asked to him.
"Do you really think all my prophecies came true because of luck?" Merlin asked back, then he guided them. "This way." He stopped the group. Knights walked through the room.
"Bloody hell." Hook exclaimed. "You really can see the future."
Merlin nodded. "Bits and pieces, yeah."
"Nice." Amelia comment.
The group arrives to Lancelot's cell. Lancelot looked in shock. "Charming?"
"It's okay." Charming sighed. "Mary Margaret and I are no longer under Arthur's control."
Lancelot looked at him. "How did you break his thrall over you?"
"They didn't, mate." Hook replied to him.
Just then, Merlin approached Lancelot. "I did."
Lancelot had his eyes widen. "Merlin."
Then, Merida spoke up. "What about me, now? You here to free me, too?"
"Merida?" Amelia asked confused.
"How did you end up in there?" Charming asked to her.
"Long story." Merida replied to them. "But after what your daughters did to me, letting me out is the least you can do."
"Aye." Hook nodded. "She's right. Emma would want us to free her."
"Caitlynn wanted us do that too." Amelia told them all.
"Indeed, but much has changed in the past millennia." Merlin held his hands up and on the bars. "These bars are enchanted with magic that I've never encountered before."
Just then, Belle found a spell in her book. "Here." She pointed in the book for Merlin to see. "Try this."
"Huh." Merlin glanced at her. "Well, aren't you the clever one?"
Belle smiled at him. "Glad someone noticed."
Merlin make the doors disappear as then someone came in. "We best get going." Hook comment to them all.
"No, wait!" Merida told them. "Wait, I can't leave! Arthur took my wisps! They're the only way I can find my brothers."
"Right now those wisps will only lead you to one thing... Your death." Merlin looked at her. "I assure you, we will find another way to rescue your brothers."

Present, Zelena read a book in her cell. "Was that a kick, my little munchkin?" Then, Nurse Ratched entered with Zelena's lunch. "Oh, thank god. I'm absolutely famished. The only thing this little one seems to want at the moment is a plate of onion rings."
Nurse Ratched put the lit off. "I'm under strict orders from the mayor to only feed you local, organically grown produce."
"Well, isn't my sister sweet?" Zelena faked her smile as then she ordered. "Go!" Then, Nurse Ratched leave the room.
Just then the twins appeared. "Trust me, if anyone knows what it's like to be pregnant behind bars, it's me."
Zelena looked at them. "The Dark twins. To what do I owe this honor?"
"Just wanted to have a little chat." Caitlynn replied to her.
"Afraid I'm not in the mood." Zelena told to the twins.
Emma teleported Zelena at her place, Caitlynn followed them. "I suppose I could be willing to listen." Zelena sighed, sitting down in a chair. "So, tell me... What kind of trouble do you want to get into?"
"Eat up..." Caitlynn held out some onion rings. "Dark Ones don't judge."
Zelena looked at them. "Despite these greasy treats, I know this isn't a social call. What do you two want?"
"Direct... I like that." Emma nodded as them she waved with her hand as then Apprentice's wand appeared. "Take a look at this."
Zelena nodded. "The Apprentice's wand."
"You're the only one around who has wielded Merlin's magic and lived to tell about it." Caitlynn told her as she sat down.
"Aww. It's nice to be appreciated." Zelena comment sarcastically.
Emma sat down as well. "If all goes according to plan, I'll need your help."
"How exciting." Zelena looked at the twins. "I can't wait to hear what you're offering in return."
"Your freedom..." Emma talked further as Caitlynn looked at them. "And my protection against Regina and anyone else who wants to hurt you."
"So the Dark One's here to make a deal?" Zelena looked at Emma. "How dreadfully unoriginal. You see, believe it or not, that patient with a mop loves to talk, and I hear that you've been very naughty, tearing out that little girl's heart to break your son's. Kudos. That is next-level darkness. Well done."
Emma looked at away for a little. "You think you're allowed to judge after everything you've done?"
"No." Zelena shook with her head as Caitlynn looked surprised at her sister. "But as someone that's been on the receiving end of a mother's betrayal, I know that those feelings of hurt don't go away. They fester. So have fun with a lifetime of resentment."
Emma sighed. "He'll forgive me. He just needs time."
"Even with all the time in the world, some things can't be forgiven." Zelena told her seriously.
Emma looked her. "I don't believe that."
"I killed Neal." Zelena leaned forwards. "Ready to kiss and make up?"
"Do we have a deal or not?" Emma asked through gritted teeth.
"I've got my own family problems." Zelena shook with her head. "I don't need yours. I'm trying to turn over a new leaf. And with a little one on the way, I wouldn't want to involve myself with someone that might be a bad influence. But thanks for the nosh. If that's all, I'd like to go back to my cell."
"You will need an ally in this town..." Emma looked at her. "Maybe not now, but soon. You'll be back to take my deal."
"I don't think so, Emma." Zelena snarled at her. "You see, the difference between you and me is... I don't mind being alone." Then, Emma send Zelena back in her cell.
Then Caitlynn turned to Emma. "Care to explain?"
"What you mean?" Emma asked back.
"You know damn well, what I'm talking about?" Caitlynn looked angry.
Emma sighed and began to tell her the truth…

6 weeks ago, At Granny's, Merlin took a candy. "Everything all right?"
Emma stepped forwards to him. "You tell me. I have the strangest sense of déja vu right now."
"I don't." Caitlynn crossed with her arms.
"You know, I've always wanted to try one of these." Merlin looked at Emma. "The last time I had the chance, it was in the hands of a little girl with sticky fingers."
Then, Emma remembered. "You." She had her eyes widen.
"What?!" Caitlynn exclaimed, confused.
Merlin looked at Emma. "You remember. Well, I'm flattered."
"You were the usher..." Emma basically pointed at him. "At the movie theater when I was a kid. How is that possible? You were still stuck in the tree back then."
"In a tree?" Caitlynn echoed.
"It doesn't matter how I got my message to you." Merlin nodded to her. "What's important is... Do you remember what I said?"
"You said something about Excalibur, and you told me..." Emma trailed off.
"That one day, you would have the opportunity to remove Excalibur from its stone." Merlin finished her.
"Well, I hate to burst your bubble." Emma told him sarcastically. "Someone beat me to it."
Merlin nodded. "Perhaps, but the sword will return to whence it came. And now that the darkness is within you, it's more important than ever that you heed the rest of my warning... Leave Excalibur alone. The fate of everyone that you love rests upon it."
"Hello, confused twin here." Caitlynn looked very confused. "What are you talking about?"
Merlin looked at her. "I will tell you everything…"

Present time, Jonathon removed Excalibur from the stone. "Well, you were right about that I could pull Excalibur." He said surprised.
Emma nodded. "I know when I'm right."
"Not always, sis." Caitlynn glared a little at her sister.
Emma knew what she was referring to. "I know." She sighed.
"Good." Caitlynn nodded.
Then Jonathon looked at them. "What's going to happen next?"
"I will tell you in time." Emma replied to him.
Jonathon nodded, but eyed at her, not fully trusting her. "Okay."
Caitlynn sighed, glancing at her sister. "Time will tell, they say."

6 weeks ago, in Granny's. Charming looked at Merlin. "So you can really do it... Take the dark one dagger and put it together with Arthur's sword to re-create the original Excalibur?"
Merlin nodded. "I hope so."
"And we can use it to save Emma?" Snow asked.
"And Caitlynn?" Amelia asked worried.
Merlin nodded. "Perhaps, but I need two things. The magical means to unite the two blades. That's my and Emma's quest. From you, I need..."
"Why Emma's and yours, but not Caitlynn's?" Jackson asked/ interrupted him.
"Because, Caitlynn is with child, in your world you would say that she is pregnant and I'm mot going to risk a pregnant woman on this quest." Merlin replied to him.
"We understand." Amelia nodded, saying it for her husband and herself.
Regina realized. "The two blades."
"We're pretty much at the open-warfare stage." Robin comment. "Now, getting the partial sword from Arthur won't be easy."
Hook looked at Merlin. "As long as you're looking at the future, any hints on how?"
"Well, the future isn't exact. There are many parts..." Merlin was interrupted by Hook.
"Of course there are." Hook was getting angry. "You're willing to send us behind enemy lines, but when it comes to specifics, everything's a little fuzzy, isn't it?!"
"Hook, Merlin's helping Emma and Caitlynn." Charming told him.
"Is he?!" Hook shouted. "She's sitting out there right now, making things to pull memories out of people's heads, because that's what she does now instead of sleeping. I'm not quite seeing the helping!"
"Oh, its only about Emma is it?" Amelia stood up. "Caitlynn is the dark one as well and nobody seems to be worrying about her! Who cares right!" She looked at the others. "Shame on you!" then she stormed out of Granny's.
"Don't make my wife anymore angry." Jackson glared at Snow, who wanted to go after her. "She's worried about Caitlynn and her unborn child." He sighed.
Charming looked at him. "How can you be so calm?"
"How can you?" Jackson asked back.
"Hope of course." Charming replied to him.
"Something like that." Jackson comment.
Just then, Merlin looked at them and explained it to them all. "I understand. I know what it is to lose someone you love to the Dark One. All I can ask of all of you is that you bring me that sword... and that you have patience with Emma and even with Caitlynn. Their kind of power, for good or evil... It is a weight on the soul. And love is a great help, if you can find it."

Outside of Granny's, the Birds were chirping as Merlin approached Emma and Caitlynn. "Emma. Caitlynn. Emma, there is a way to make Excalibur whole again. Will you come with me today so we can get what we need? It's not far."
Emma looked curious. "What is it?"
"A spark from mankind's original fire, the Flame of Prometheus. Its heat forged Excalibur, and that's what we'll need to put it back together." Merlin looked at her. "So will you come with me to collect the spark? We'll be back by nightfall."
"And I can't come with." Caitlynn told him as he nodded. "I figured."
Then, Emma noticed that he looked troubled. "You look dire. What is it?"
"When we get there, we will need to deal with the first dark one." Merlin replied to her.
"The one who wore the mask?" Emma asked to him. "The one who killed the woman you love?"
Merlin nodded. "The very same. This is not a trivial task."
"I was seeing Rumpelstiltskin." Emma sighed. "Like, a voice in my head. I just got rid of him. And now you want me to let another one in?"
"Yes, and not just anyone." Merlin replied to her. "This is the first dark one, the original, the one from whom all the evil that followed was born."
Emma looked at him. "Will we win?"
Merlin sighed. "I see two paths for our journey, Emma. On one, you resist the darkness and we succeed. On the other, you succumb to the darkness and I do not return. I die."
"You die?" Emma had her eyes widen. "But..."
Merlin looked at her. "Even immortality has exceptions. A dark one does have the power to kill me."
"But they won't even be there. Not really." Emma told him as he looked down. "Oh. It would be me. If you died, it would be me."
"If I die, it means that you lost your battle and the darkness stained your soul." Merlin nodded. "Everything and everyone that you know will be at the mercy of the most powerful dark one ever... Yourself. No pressure."

Not much later, Caitlynn was talking to her mother (adopted), Jackson looked after Aubrey. "I know I can't come with Emma and Merlin, but I hope she succeed. For her sake."
Amelia looked at her. "I know and I know that you miss Gold."
"You don't say." Caitlynn muttered sarcastically. "I miss him very much."
"Everything will be okay." Amelia put her hand over Caitlynn's.
"When?" she asked to her.
"I don't know, but have hope, sweetie." Amelia smiled at her.
"I have hope." Caitlynn nodded.
"Okay." Amelia nodded as well.
Just then , Merlin came to Emma, who was talking to Hook. "It's time." Emma nodded as then she and Merlin leave for their quest.

"Okay, what's the plan?" Snow asked as she looked on the map.
"We take them by surprise a go in through the front gate." Charming replied to her.
"Well, after our jailbreak, they'll be on high alert." Hook comment. "We need a diversion at the drawbridge. The rest of us can climb the wall on the side."
"Are you forgetting?" Regina glared at him. "I've got magic. I can just poof into Arthur's bedroom."
"And me as well." Amelia told them. "But I wouldn't poof in Arthur's bedroom through." As Caitlynn, Jackson and Aubrey were outside. (Don't' remember if Jonathon was there was well.)
Zelena scoffed as Regina looked at her. "What?!" Zelena gestured at her. "Well, if you're going to make a scene, you might as well make noise." Then she waved with her hand and Zelena could speak again.
"Oh! Thank you." Zelena smiled. "I do love hearing a sensible person talk."
"Spit it out." Regina glared at her. "What are you thinking?"
Zelena hopped off from the thingy and went over them, looking at the map. "I'm thinking going in the front... suicide. Diversion... Arthur hides the sword. You need it on him. And you could poof right in front of a blade. Oopsie! You need to sneak in so quietly... No one knows you're there."
"How? Hang glider?" Charming looked at her. "Oh, giant slingshot."
Zelena looked at him. "If sir-castic would let me speak, I'd tell you that I wasn't idle during those days in there, playing mute handmaiden at Regina's side. I was plotting an escape."
Regina grinned. "I knew it."
"And I found a way out." Zelena told them. "And if I know a way out, I know a way in."
"You're going to help us?" Regina asked to her sister.
"Of course." Zelena replied to her. "Because you're going to help me. I want my magic back."

They were outside of Arthur's Castle. "It's a tunnel, abandoned for years. It will take you to the courtyard." Zelena explained.
Hook looked at her. "Well, if it's so good, why didn't you escape through it?"
"Observe the massive metal grate." Zelena pointed at the grate. "See, without magic, I'm a delicate thing."
Charming looked at the grate. "Well, it leads in the right direction." Then he looked back at Zelena. "Looks like your information is good, at least this far."
Zelena nodded. "Thank you. Now I've done my part. You can do yours. Take off this bloody cuff." Then she held up her hand.
"For all we know, this leads to the guards' quarters. We make it out safe with the sword, then we'll talk." Regina glanced at Snow. "Mary Margaret, how do you feel about guard duty?"
"Oh, I'd be delighted." Snow replied, then she looked at Zelena. "We'll chat, have plenty of pregnancy tips."
Zelena grumbled. "Good Lord, this is worse than being in my cell."
"Be glad that isn't with me." Amelia told her, flashing her eyes darker.
"All right, everyone." Regina sighed. "Let's get this sword."
-0-
They had sneaked through the tunnel and were in the castle again. "Back." Hook warned them.
Robin gestured at the cauldron. "You suppose that's for us?"
"I have a feeling we don't want to find out." Regina replied to him.
"Me neither." Amelia comment.
"Come on." Hook told them as the guards had pasted them. "Let's keep moving."
"I keep waiting for the ax to fall." Robin comment to them all.
"I didn't think she had it in her, but... Zelena hasn't screwed us... Yet." Regina sighed.
-0-
Not much later, they walked past the guards again as then they were in the Round Table. Arthur looked up. "Foul witch, you've overpowered the guards!"
Robin pointed at the sword. "Sword's on the table."
"Don't touch it." Hook warned to him. "It could have protection charms."
"Tell your timbers to stop shivering, pirate." Regina comment, sarcastically. "Nothing in here can hurt us. Arthur doesn't know how to do magic."
Just then Zelena came into the room with Snow. "Hi, guys!"
"I knew it." Amelia muttered to herself.
Regina wasn't shocked at all. "Oh, hell no."
"Mary Margaret!" Charming looked at his wife as then at Zelena. "If you hurt her..."
Zelena looked at him. "Ooh, daddy's angry." As she put Snow on the chair, she grunted. "Let's undo that." Then she reversed the spell keeping Arthur frozen.
Arthur could move again. "Ahh."
"How did..." Regina was interrupted by Zelena.
"Well, Arthur was kind enough to remove that constricting jewelry." Zelena looked at her sister.
"Fine." Regina said angry. "I'd prefer an even fight."
Robin held his hand up. "No, don't! The baby."
"Oh, now the bloody baby is important." Amelia muttered, sarcastically.
"You know, if you treated me fairly for once, maybe I wouldn't turn on you." Zelena comment.
"Yes, you would." Hook snarled.
"But I'd enjoy it less." Zelena comment as she looked into a book. "Oh! Here we are. One of Merlin's cookbooks."
Arthur looked at her. "Is it the right spell?"
"Oh, yes." Zelena replied to him. "It's quite an ingenious recipe for a tethering potion."
"Excellent." Arthur comment.
Zelena laughed, waving her hand. "There... You can take it now. Cookies are done, and by "cookies," I mean that Artie here may have a shorter sword than a man would like, but it can control the world's greatest wizard."
"Oh, oh." Amelia comment, sadly. "Not good, not good at all."
"His plan, but I like it." Zelena comment, all too happily. "Happy to help."
Arthur nodded. "Most obliged, my lady."
"Arthur, please." Charming looked at him. "You can't see a way out, but there is one. You can start over."
"Merlin!" Arthur shouted the first time.
"We've all started over." Charming told him.
Arthur ignored him. "Merlin!" Shouted for the second time.
"Emma and Caitlynn are worth more to you as the Savior than the dark one." Charming held his hand up.
"Thank you, David." Arthur glanced at him. "But..." Then shouted for the third time. "Merlin!"
-0-
Not much later, merlin appeared in front of them, looking confused. "Ah, Merlin." Arthur spoke up, Merlin looked at him, with eyes narrowed, just then he also was silently speaking to Jonathon. "How kind of you to come when called. For your first task, please use your magic to keep these fine people from attacking me in any way." Merlin waved with his hand as swords clatters on the ground.
Zelena laughed. "Wow."
Merlin looked at Arthur. "It is done, Arthur. You can put that down. We don't have to do this." Then he glanced at charming and the others. "Emma has passed her test."
"Oh, Emma passed the test?" Arthur scoffed. "How nice for her."
"I have what we need to unite Excalibur and fulfill your legacy." Merlin held his hand out. "Give me the sword."
"You mean give you the glory?" Arthur shook with his head. "No."
"Glory? You seek glory? Is that really what you've become?" Merlin looked sad. "I am so sorry I wasn't there to guide you, Arthur. This isn't the man you were supposed to be."
Arthur looked angry. "Oh, I am exactly what you made me. "Look at the half-man with his half-sword, solving riddles from a tree." I bet you laughed."
"I was trapped, and I put my faith in you." Merlin told him the truth. "You were meant to be like a son to me."
"Shut your mouth." Arthur held up Excalibur as Merlin shut his mouth. "I was never a son to you. You lied. You told me legend would speak of the great King Arthur, using Excalibur to strike darkness from the realm! Tell me how this was not a lie!"
Merlin looked at him. "Because you will do that. You're a part of doing it right now."
"A part of it?" Arthur asked in disbelieve.
"We have what we need." Merlin replied to him. "The future is in your hands, Arthur. Give me the sword. We can repair everything."
Arthur shook with his head. "No, not everything. This is my charge and my right. I will be known for more than defeating a stone."
"Arthur, you cannot..." Merlin was interrupted by Arthur.
"Be quiet." He ordered to him. "We have intruders. Make them leave."

Present time, in Emma's house, in the Basement. Rumpelstiltskin was watching Emma. "Go on. It's time."
Emma glared at him. "Why will you not leave me alone?"
"Well, how could we?" Rumpelstiltskin looked at her. "We're here to witness something historical."
Nimue looked at her. "Rumpelstiltskin's eyes are fine to look through most days, but I wanted to see this myself."
"You tried to keep me from doing this." Emma told her.
Nimue nodded. "Back then, there was a chance that you would use Excalibur to cut away the darkness, but now you can douse the light instead. We are proud of you... All of us."
Just ten all of the Dark ones appeared and said together. "All of us. All of us. All of us. All of us."
Just then Emma used her magic to make the sword whole again as then she saw the name written on Excalibur. "Merlin." She gasped. "He told me not to do this when I was a girl."
"And now you're a woman." Nimue told her.
"Take the power." Rumpelstiltskin added.
Then the Dark ones were whispering "Take the power." as then Emma took the sword and the whispering stopped.
