Chapter 2
The Shocking Class President
As Karen walked to school the next morning, she couldn't stop thinking about Black Lightning.
"Yo, Karen". Karen then looked to the left to see Kara Danvers walking to her.
"Sorry if me or the others couldn't make it", said Kara. "But, I did hear that the power plant was saved".
"Actually, I had help" said Karen. This made Kara rather curious.
"Help?", asked Kara. "From who?".
"I'll tell you girls at lunch" said Karen as she walked to class.
Later, at lunch, Karen told the girls the whole story about what happened last night.
"So this, 'Black Lightning' literally slapped away Livewire's attacks?", asked Diana. "And she couldn't absorb his electricity?".
"Yeah", said Karen. "Every time he attacked with electricity, it ended up hurting her".
"And you said he wants to talk with us on the top of the daily planet?" Asked Jessica.
"He says he can help us defeat Livewire" said Karen. They then heard the sound of a loud laugh that made them jump a little. They then saw Barry, Garth, Hal, Oliver and Carter sitting with someone new. He was a dark skinned man who looked to be about 17-yrs-old. He had black hair formed into short dreadlocks. He wore a light grey under a black-blue jacket with yellow lightning bolts covering it, black trousers and white soccer shoes.
"Who's the guy with Barry and the others?" Asked Babs.
"That's Jefferson Pierce", answered Jessica. "He's the class president".
"I thought he looked familiar", said Zee. "Didn't he beat Cobblepot in the election 4 years in a row?".
"Actually he defeat him in his first at Metropolis High", said Jessica. "He then defeated Barbi during his second year, Doris in his third year and Hal in his fourth".
"Wow", said Bumblebee. "He must be pretty good".
"Not to mention good looking" said Zee with dreamy eyes.
"Honestly Oliver", said Jeff. "You can be such a dweeb".
"If you must know", said Oliver. "I was not going to let Zee upstage me".
"So basically", said Jeff. "Ya had a dick fight with her, to see who could advertise the most. So much so, that the two of you missed your own shows?".
"Well, when you put it like that" said Oliver blushing with embarrassment. Jeff just chuckled.
"I'm just pokin' ya Ollie", said Jeff. "But 'ey, who knows? You might upstage her some day".
"Well", said Oliver proudly. "Thanks for the vote of confidence".
"Hey man", said Jeff. "It's what I do. I do the work that the teachers are too busy to give a shit about". This caused the guys at his table to laugh.
"He seems nice" said Babs.
"Not to mention he's got MY kind of humour", said Kara. "What about you Karen?". Karen didn't answer.
"Karen?" Asked Kara again. The girls then saw that Karen was staring at Jeff as she blushed.
"Karen!" Called Kara as she slapped Karen on her back. This caused Karen to be snapped out of her trance.
"What?" Asked Karen confused.
"Eh, you were in some kinda trance" said Babs.
"Actually", said Zee cheekily. "I think she's in serious L-O-V-E". She then giggled at this, because she knew it was true.
