Rachel was waiting in a coffee shop in downtown NY, she chose a table a little further away to prevent future inconvenience to the other coffee drinkers. She was concerned about her ex-boyfriend's conduct when he found out about her son's condition.
The brunette knew perfectly well that the man had always been a bit selfish, she was afraid that the boy would refuse to donate the cells for Antony's transplant, but the Jewess was willing to beg if necessary to save her little boy from his excruciating pain.
The door to the cafeteria opened attracting the brunette's attention, she gulped when she saw the brunette entering wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. Puckerman smiled at the girl and sat down in the free chair in front of her, but neither of them said anything at first. In fact, they weren't sure what to say, but Rachel decided to break the uncomfortable silence.
-Antony is in the hospital... -Rachel didn't take the time to speak, and Puck worried about his son.
-What's wrong with him, Rachel? -The brunette asked as he tapped his feet on the floor in anxiety.
-He has multiple myeloma. -Rachel wiped away a lone tear that insisted on falling.
-He... he has... with cancer? -Puckerman asked in a trembling voice.
-Yes. -Rachel sighed. -He needs a bone marrow transplant, but I'm not a match!
Noah Puckerman understood immediately what that conversation was about and he was going to help.
-I want to get tested! -He declared and Rachel faced him with a relieved smile on her face.
-I don't know what to say... -The brunette commented as she grabbed a tissue from her purse.
-Our son is sick, you don't have to say anything, it's my job to help! -She said.
-You've really changed. -Rachel smiled and held the boy's hand. -Thank you...
-No need to thank me! -He lovingly squeezed her hand. -Do you think he'll like me?
-Oh, he'll be thrilled when he finds out he has a daddy! -Rachel commented, smiling.
-Does he ask about me? -Puck asked with his head down to hide his tears.
-Every day since he learned to talk. -Rachel commented. -He wants to meet you, Puck.
-I... I can meet him? -Puck asked with a silly smile on his face.
-Of course you can... -She commented through several tears. -Come on? -She asked him.
-How do we look? -Puck held the brunette by the arms and asked before she left.
-I can offer you my friendship, but nothing more than that, Noah! -She was sincere.
-I can accept that! -Puck accepted that he would not have the brunette back as his girlfriend.
The man made sure to pay for the coffees and the two headed to the hospital in their respective cars, but the brunette barely stepped into the reception area and the receptionist called out to her.
-Miss Berry your payment for the room and medical care is overdue! -she said.
-I need to talk to my parents... -Rachel whispered, looking down at the paper in her hands.
-I'll be swiping the card and they can put all the charges in my name! -she said.
Noah Puckerman held out a silver card to the receptionist who smiled wryly at the boy, but he wasn't interested in romantic interactions at the moment and just ignored the woman who gave a defeated sigh and finished swiping the boy's card.
-You didn't have to do that! -Rachel remarked and the boy offered her a smile.
-You took care of him yourself for years, please let me help, Rach! -He remarked.
-You've really changed! -The brunette was happy with Puckerman's real change.
-Can I... can I meet Antony now? -Noah asked as he scratched the back of his neck.
Rachel nodded, they got their name tags from the front desk and entered the admission ward to find the little boy lying on the bed watching cartoons.
-Hello my little one! -Rachel entered and the little boy looked away from the television.
-Mommy! -He stretched out his arms to get a hug from his mother. -Who is he, mom?
Puckerman was standing in the doorway with tearful eyes and a silly smile on his face.
-Do you remember when you asked me about your father? -The little boy's eyes twinkled.
-I remember, Mom! -Antony offered the wide smile he had inherited from Rachel.
-He's your daddy, and he's here to help us get you home! -She commented.
Anthony stared at the approaching man with a smile on his face and tears in his brown eyes. The little boy was a perfect blend of him and the brunette and he was very proud that he had done such a perfect thing. Antony was his perfect thing and he would never walk away from this little boy again, for he had developed an unconditional love for his little boy.
At that moment he was cursing himself like he had never cursed before for having abandoned him.
-Daddy? -Anthony asked, and this caused the brunette to fall to his knees on the side of the bed.
Noah Puckerman pulled the boy into his arms and they held each other for a long time. The sobs of the brunette were echoing through the room as he excused himself to the little boy who looked at his parent without understanding anything, but he began to cry.
-Will you make the pain go away? -Antony asked as they walked away and Noah smiled.
-I will do the possible and the impossible, my son! -Puckerman promised the little boy.
Outside the room Quinn was watching the whole scene, she was crying in pure emotion and temporarily forgot all the hate she felt for that man, because her little boy was happy and Anthony's life was in the hands of that man at that moment.
-He's happy... -Quinn murmured to Rachel who had left the room in tears.
-He's wanted to meet Puck for a long time! -Rachel commented looking out the living room window.
-Are you guys back? -Quinn asked with a certain insecurity in his voice.
-No, because my heart belongs to someone else! -Rachel commented and they stared at each other.
-I love you! -Quinn declared as he pulled the brunette into a fiery but quick kiss.
-I love you! -Rachel declared. -I love you so much! -She said. -Take me home? -suggestive question.
