"Bye Irelia! Bye Syndra! Thanks again!" Akali waved as she walked out of the car and in front of the club. She heard a fleeting "See you later!" from Irelia as the purple car sped away. Akali smiled and turned back around, now in front of her girlfriend's club, "The Last Caress". The neon sign glowed on her face as she walked up to the entrance.
"Sup, Kali?" Sett grinned, giving her a fistbump. He was one of the more recent hires, having a little bit more than a year of experience under his belt. Still, he was informed about her and Evelynn's relationship, so he didn't even check her for anything. The other bouncer, Braum, smiled widely at her.
"Merry Christmas, ehh?" He chuckled with his deep voice. His moustache was pristine and his teeth nearly glowed as he gave a pat on Akali's back.
"Yeah. Merry Christmas to you too, Braum." Akali waved weakly, still feeling Braum's pats on her back as she opened the door and walked down the black stairs. She found herself in the middle of a rave, with massive amounts of people dancing and getting drunk.
"Hello, darling." Akali felt Evelynn's hand caress her face. She turned to her girlfriend, the owner of "The Last Caress". Her pink hair contrasted her pale white skin, as well as the rest of her outfit. Evelynn was wearing a dark purple chinese-style dress, with a slit from her right thigh down to her heel.
"Like the outfit?" Evelynn teased Akali with a smirk. "I can feel your eyes all over me."
"W-Well, yeah I do!" Akali was caught off guard, not realizing she'd been staring so intently.
"Hmm. You can look more later, darling. I've got some work to do, but I'll be back in my office within ten minutes. If you want, you can get a drink from Gragas." Evelynn smiled.
"Thanks, Eve." Akali grinned. Evelynn leaned in for a kiss, which Akali eagerly returned. Touching lips for just a moment, the two ignored all others around them.
"Well, darling, see you." Evelynn waved.
"Mmm!" Akali nodded. She weaved her way towards the bar, where a large man with a hefty white beard was serving drinks. His facial hair was normally a bright orange, but seeing as it was Christmas, he was dressed up as Santa.
"Hohoh! Akali! Merry Christmas!" He chuckled. "Would you like your usual?"
"Yeah! Thanks!" Akali shouted over the loud music. In the club there were three main parts: The dance floor, which also included the DJ, the bar, and the private rooms. There were two private rooms, where guests could reserve it by time, and receive various services with different orders. Most people, however, came for a night of dancing or to pick up a partner for the night. Of course, there were hardcore fans of whatever DJ was playing, or people there solely for a quick drink, but those sorts made up the minority. In any case, the club was by no means empty. In fact, Sett and Braum had already turned away multiple people.
"As requuueested! A Shuriken Flip!" Gragas announced, handing her a tall glass with a winding straw. Since Akali wasn't a big fan of alcohol, Gragas had made this drink with her in mind. On the bottom half was a Shirley temple, and the top half contained a blue, fizzy, berry-flavored drink. One could either drink them separately or mix the flavors, creating a purple fizz that tasted completely different from the individual parts.
"Thanks, Santa!" Akali grinned, taking her drink and waving as she walked away. She found her way into a near invisible door in the corner with a sign that read: Employees Only. This was Evelynn's office, where she and her hired financial manager took care of the paperwork and finances. Things such as sanitary inspection documents, Alcohol permits, and other files were all stacked on a desk at the wall to the right of the entrance to the room. On the wall opposite the entrance was a couch, and facing that was a TV and some one-way glass. To her left was one of Evelynn's favorite paintings and in the center of the room was a table with some alcohol, menus of some local restaurants and the remote for the TV. Akali set her drink down, took her shoes off and plopped on the couch. She sighed contentedly, after a hard day of work. Her eyes drifted over to the TV, which she turned on to the news channel.
"We've got more on the Christmas Spirit of this heroic Mall Santa." The reporter smiled through the TV. "For now, let's look at the forecast with our Channel 5's very own Janna Windblume."
"Thank you, Anna. Now for tonight's forecast, we've got light snow all around the city of Valoran, and chilly weather to boot." The TV droned on as Akali turned to her phone as she sipped her drink.
"Hmm. What should I get her?" Akali grinned, looking at the special Christmas selection from the local stores around her. "Can't be too kiddish, but not dangerous either." She scrolled around, trying to find a good present whilst also forming a layout for her and Evelynn's date.
"Hello darling." Evelynn grinned as she opened the door. "I can see your grin from all the way over here. What's going on?"
"O-Oh, nothing!" Akali jumped up, tossing her phone with it. She gracefully caught it before gently setting it on the table. "J-Just a picture of you!" Akali tried countering.
"Alright, if that's what you say." Evelynn smiled. "I'll be doing some paperwork over here, but I can talk if you want."
"Kayyy. Want me to help?" Akali offered.
"No, thank you, it's quite alright. I can't possibly make my girlfriend do my work for me, especially after you've had a long shift."
"Ah. Alright." Akali relented immediately, knowing that she would never convince Evelynn to let her help. She held strong values, especially in doing her own work. Actually, it might have been the time that Akali wrote the wrong phone number for an inspection, so Evelynn had to frantically try and fix the situation, but Akali didn't really know.
"Want a sip?" Akali offered her drink to Evelynn.
"No thanks, darling. I'm not a fan of overly sugary drinks. They're not too good for your health."
"Okay." Akali shrugged. "How is work so far? Even more packed on Christmas?"
"Mmhmm." Evelynn nodded as she worked on some papers. "Speaking of Christmas, have you decided on a place to go tomorrow?"
"Not yet, but I'll find something soon."
"Alright."
"What do you think about brunch?" Akali asked as she scrolled her phone. She was lying down on the couch, facing the ceiling.
"Sounds perfect. You have a spot in mind?" Evelynn looked up and stopped writing.
"Irelia suggested a place called 'The Sun and Moon'. They're open tomorrow, and they supposedly have one of the best brunches in the city."
"Mmm. I guess we should check it out, then."
"So it's set for tomorrow? I should make a reservation then."
"That could be good."
"I'll do it tomorrow morning, cause they're closed right now."
"Mmmkay."
They continued in silence, with Akali scrolling social media and Evelynn doing work. A few minutes later, Evelynn stood up.
"I'm going to go check around the club and pop into Sarah's room. Wanna come along?" She offered.
"No thanks, I'm good." Akali looked at Evelynn. She'd talked with Sarah, or Miss Fortune of the Fortune music label, once before, and all she could say about that was that Evelynn and Sarah were kindred spirits. Akali only needed one Evelynn, not two. Plus, dealing with two of them teasing her at once was too much for a tired Akali. "Maybe next time, when I'm not so tired."
"Oh, alright, that's fine." Evelynn leaned down to kiss Akali's forehead. As she opened the door, music flooded through into the room. She turned her head and called out, "By the way, Soraka should be coming here soon, since her shift was over ten minutes ago."
"Oh, really?"
"See you in a bit, darling. Don't forget to get whatever you want." Evelynn smiled and left, closing the door behind her and sealing off the music. Akali sighed, placing her phone back down and taking a sip of her drink. She closed her eyes and lay there for a moment, listening to the faint music coming through the soundproof walls. She phased out, slowly, losing consciousness. She woke up to the sounds of the club music coming back and flooding the room. Akali sat up and blinked slowly, her eyes adjusting to the light.
"Oh, sorry, Akali!" Soraka put her hand over her mouth. "I didn't know that you were sleeping!"
"Oh, no, it's fine. I shouldn't sleep too much anyway, otherwise I won't be able to sleep tonight."
"How was your day?" Soraka closed the door behind her.
"It was alright. How was yours?"
"Just the usual, I guess." Soraka answered tiredly.
"Want to sit?" Akali patted the seat next to her.
"Thanks."
"You didn't get a drink from Gragas?"
"No. I'm tired right now, and I don't think sugary or alcoholic drinks would help with that." Soraka chuckled weakly.
"Oh, but Evelynn bought a tea and coffee maker recently. Want me to make you something?" Akali offered.
"She did? That's nice."
"Let me make you something, then."
"Can I just get a chamomile tea then?" Soraka asked.
"Sure! You always do so much for me, so I guess this is the least that I could do." Akali stood up and walked to the back of the room, where a coffee machine was set up. She carefully scooped some chamomile blossoms into a pod, and started the machine. She took the finished cup of tea and brought it over the table.
"Thanks." Soraka brought the cup to her lips and slowly drank the soothing tea. The two sat together, discussing their respective days and drinking their drinks while the TV ran the news in the background.
Evelynn soon came back in, chuckling at the sight. Soraka had conked out, leaning over unconsciously and putting her head in Akali's lap.
"I'm jealous now."
"I'll give you a lap pillow any day, alright?" Akali responded softly.
"I'll take you up on that offer tonight." Evelynn walked back over to her desk. "We're closing soon, so don't forget to return that glass to Gragas."
"Mmm. I will."
"Well, Sett and Braum are escorting people outside right now, so the cleaners are going to do their job and then we'll close for the night."
"Sounds good." Akali smiled. "Actually, could you please take this back to Gragas for me?"
"Hmmm?"
"Please?"
"Maybe." Evelynn smirked. "I'll do it for a kiss."
"F-Fine, I'll give you a kiss." Akali blushed but hesitantly agreed. "You're just taking advantage of me trying to take care of a friend."
"Maybe I am. But I'll take a kiss anyway." Evelynn leaned in and Akali kissed her back, humming softly. Evelynn pulled away and took the glass off of the table, smirked at her girlfriend and strutted out the door. The music had stopped, so Soraka remained fast asleep on Akali's lap even though the door was open. Akali gently stroked Soraka's long, blonde hair, waiting for Evelynn to return. A few minutes passed, then ten, then fifteen, and even more time passed as Akali waited for her girlfriend to return. The door opened and Akali looked up excitedly, expecting her girlfriend to be there.
"Oh. It's just you."
"Whaddya mean, 'it's just me?' Ehh!?" Sett growled.
"Shhh! Your girlfriend is sleeping right here! She's probably really tired!" Akali whisper-shouted.
"Oh. My bad."
"Just shhh. And what's going on out there?"
"Cleaning's all done, so Eve let Braum and I go, but I came to pick up Soraka. Eve's still talking to Gragas about a bigger bar or something."
"Oh, ok. You gonna to leave now?"
"Yeah. Can I please get my girlfriend back?" Sett walked over.
"Be careful not to wake her up."
"I won't. Bye." Carrying Soraka bridal-style and covering her with his thick jacket, Sett walked out the door with a grin and exited the club.
"Whoo. She must be really tired, if she managed to stay asleep through all of that." Akali chuckled. She got up and walked out of the office, scanning the room for Evelynn. She found her girlfriend at the bar talking to Gragas, just as Sett said.
"Oh, darling. I was just talking to Gragas about expanding his bar. We'll be done soon, alright? You can wait wherever, I'll be right there." Evelynn turned over to Akali for a moment.
"Oh, ok." Akali nodded. She walked away and hopped onto a freshly-cleaned couch, scrolling her phone as she waited for Evelynn to finish.
"What're you reading, darling?" Akali turned her head, finding Evelynn's face right next to hers.
"Oh, just some reviews for the place we're going tomorrow. Apparently the couple's combo breakfast is really good."
"I guess we should order that, then." Evelynn smiled.
"Maybe. We leaving now?"
"Mmhmm. Everything in here is locked up, but could you help me with the gate?"
"Sure."
Akali had done so many times before, so the process was ingrained in her memory. Walking out, she locked the front doors after Evelynn had gone through. She jumped up and pulled down the gate, blocking the front door entrance to the club. After that, Akali took the padlock and locked the gate in place.
"All done!" Akali grinned, happy that she was able to help her girlfriend.
"Thanks, darling." Evelynn gave her a quick peck on the cheek. "Here's some hand sanitizer; go wipe your hands first."
"Mmkay." Akali put her hands out and Evelynn squirted some hand sanitizer on her hands. She rubbed her hands together and waved them around to dry them. When she was satisfied, Akali opened the door to the passenger seat of the car and got in. Evelynn was already seated, and stepped on the gas once Akali had closed the door.
"W-Wait! I'm not belted yet!" Akali frantically called out.
"It's fine, darling. We're only going on a 5 minute trip." Evelynn chuckled. "Just sit tight, alright?"
"Kay…" Akali stammered but put her belt on anyway. The two soon found themselves at Evelynn's apartment building. Evelynn drove into the parking garage, in her prepaid spot, and walked into the elevator along with Akali.
"What are the plans for tonight?" Evelynn asked.
"Hmm, I dunno. Watch a movie, I guess?" Akali offered.
"You have a movie in mind?"
"Nah, not really."
"You want to eat something first, then?" Evelynn offered, waving at her stove. They had just entered the large penthouse, taking off their shoes and walking inside.
"Sure. What do you want to order?" Akali asked, pulling out her phone.
"Actually, darling, I was hoping you'd make something for me." Evelynn smiled.
"R-Really? I'm not that good at cooking." Akali stammered.
"There's no need to be humble, darling."
"H-Huh!?"
"I'll go take a shower first while you cook." Evelynn waved, blowing Akali a kiss and walking away. She disappeared through a door, leaving a stunned Akali in the kitchen.
"Guess I gotta cook now." She chuckled, looking in the refrigerator and pantry. The kitchen was near spotless, the stainless steel appliances shining from the bright lights. It wasn't like that because Evelynn kept things clean. Rather, it was simply because Evelynn rarely cooked. After Akali had cooked for her once, though, Evelynn made sure to keep some ingredients in stock.
"Great! Eve's got some really high quality stuff here!" Akali grinned. She held up a few packs of ramen, some frozen beef, cabbage and some eggs. "Let's get cooking!"
The barista hummed as she worked, boiling the noodles, slicing the cabbage, frying the beef and cooking the eggs. Akali ran back and forth, seasoning things and plating others as the dish soon came to life.
"It seems that I came at the perfect time." Evelynn chuckled into Akali's ear as the barista cut an egg in half. She shivered but resisted the urge to jump up and scream.
"You did! Go and set the table, since I'll be done in ten seconds." Akali motioned at the table with her chin.
"Yes, chef!" Evelynn smiled and grabbed a fork for herself and a pair of chopsticks for Akali, as well as two napkins.
"I made yours less spicy, so I hope you enjoy!" Akali grinned widely as she set the two bowls down on the table. Stir-fried spicy ramen piled with beef, sauteed cabbage and a soft-boiled egg came together in one bowl, giving off an irresistible aroma.
"This looks amazing, darling." Evelynn looked at her girlfriend.
"Th-Thanks."
"Well then, let's eat."
Akali slurped her noodles loudly and inhaled her food, which was the opposite of Evelynn. She twirled the noodles around her fork and blew on it to cool it down before putting it in her mouth. Within five minutes, Akali had finished her bowl, but Evelynn had just barely finished half of hers.
"S-Sorry, I ate too fast." Akali scratched her head, embarrassed.
"It's fine. It's a good confirmation that you're healthy." Evelynn chuckled before taking another bite. "I've got bananas over there if you want, or you can shower if you'd like."
"Thanks." Akali stood up and walked over to the counter, grabbing a banana and sitting back down. She gobbled down the fruit as well, and once again found herself in an awkward predicament.
"Darling, you can just go shower. I'll just put the dishes into the dishwasher when I'm finished." Evelynn offered.
"Okay, I'll do that then. Thanks."
"Thank you for cooking, Akali darling. See you in bed." Evelynn winked and continued to eat as Akali disappeared to take a shower. The club owner quickly finished the rest of her food and began to put the dishes in the washer. When she was done putting the cooking utensils and pots in as well, she started the machine and walked into her bedroom.
"Oh, hey Eve." Akali was fluffing her ponytail.
"Ready for bed, darling?"
"Sure!" Akali hung up her towel and followed Evelynn to bed.
"How was your day today?" Evelynn whispered into Akali's ear. Her hot breath tickled Akali's ear as the barista felt her girlfriend gently caress her body. Evelynn was spooning Akali as she usually did.
"I-It was good, I guess."
"Tell me about it."
"Mmkay."
"I mean, Syndra hung around the shop for most of our hours today. She was flirting non-stop with Irelia."
"Hmm?"
"Yep. Just took a seat near the register and did her work there."
"Are you suggesting you want me to do the same?"
"N-No, I'm fine…" Akali's face turned a bright red.
"It sure sounds like that to me." Evelynn chuckled.
"I-It's not."
"Well, if you say so."
The two continued to chat for quite a while, leaving them with only 3 hours to sleep when they finally drifted off.
*Bzzt! Bzzt!*
Akali's alarm rang out.
"Guhhhhh!" Akali broke free from Evelynn's sleeping grip and shut her alarm off. Her head pinged up as she remembered something and began to dial a number.
"Hi, I'd like to make a reservation for two people at around 11:30 today." Akali sleepily spoke into her phone.
"Who was that, darling?" Evelynn asked sleepily. Akali looked at Evelynn's dreamy face, which remained in pristine condition even after sleeping.
"Oh, just the brunch place. We've got a reservation for 11:45 today, so there's no rush." Akali said.
"Okay, darling." The time was 11:03, leaving many options open for the two of them.
"Cuddle some more?" Evelynn offered.
"Sure." Akali lay back down, shivering as felt Evelynn's body heat warm her up when they made contact with each other. Evelynn murmured sleepily into Akali's ear, They continued to do so until the time read 11:38.
"Ahh! We gotta go!" Akali panicked.
"It's alright, darling. I can get us there in a couple of minutes. Let's get changed first." The two began to dress for the day, and soon found themselves in the car, zooming to the restaurant at 11:42.
"We're here!" Akali exclaimed as the two pulled up in front of the cafe. Evelynn miraculously found a parking spot, and the two found themselves inside, ready to be seated.
"Welcome to the Sun and Moon. Please follow me to your seat over here." A woman with silver hair led them to their seats in the small-ish cafe. "Your waiter should be over here shortly."
Evelynn nodded respectfully and soon enough, a waitress appeared.
"Hi, and welcome to the Sun and Moon! My name's Zoe, and I'll be your server today!" A girl no older than twenty with long orange hair that faded into purple smiled brightly. As she handed them both a menu, she asked, "Would you like anything to drink?"
"I'll take an orange juice, please." Akali asked.
"Certainly. And for you?" Zoe turned to Evelynn.
"Oh, just a coffee, please."
"Of course. I'll give you some time to look over the menu, but I'll be back with your drinks soon." Zoe smiled and walked away, disappearing into the kitchen.
"What did you say they were famous for again?" Evelynn asked.
"Oh, the couple's special breakfast. Do you think it'll be good"
"Well, if they're famous for it, then it must be good." Evelynn replied.
"True." Akali nodded. "So do you want to order that then?"
"That would be perfect." Evelynn smiled.
"Hi, I've got your drinks!" Zoe bubbled up from nowhere. She set down a glass of orange juice and a mug filled with coffee, as well as some creamer packets. "Are you ready to order?"
"Yep. We'll have the couple's special breakfast."
"Certainly! Well then, I'll be right back with your food." Zoe left the two alone at the table. Akali looked around at the crowded cafe, which didn't have a single seat open. There was one more server, with red hair, but she seemed to be serving the other side of the cafe. AKali and Evelynn chatted a bit, drinking their drinks and waiting for their food to come out.
"And here it is! The couple's breakfast!" Zoe announced, setting down a huge plate of food. Four pancakes, two waffles, two pieces of french toast, a mound of hash browns was one side. On the other was four sausages, eight slices of bacon, four scrambled eggs and two slices of ham. One last dish of fruit was placed in the middle of the platter to complete the meal.
"Well then, please enjoy and take your time!" Zoe smiled and left.
"This is huge!" Akali chuckled.
"It certainly is." Evelynn agreed. "Should we begin?"
"Yeag, I'm digging in!" Akali smiled widely and began to eat excitedly. Evelynn smiled contentedly, slowly eating a pancake on her side.
"Here, darling, say 'Ahhh'". Evelynn held up a forkful of eggs to her girlfriends mouth. Akali eagerly chomped down and smiled widely. She continued to eat her food, this time more slowly. Evelynn grinned and continued to slowly eat her portion, enjoying watching Akali glance up every now and then.
"H-Hey, Eve."
"Yes, darling?"
"C-Can I feed you too?" Akali asked nervously.
"Mmhmm." Evelynn nodded. Akali perked up at that; her cheeks turned red and her movemnt stopped.
"Darling?"
"S-Say, 'Ahhh'". Akali lifted up a forkful of hashbrowns into Evelynn's mouth, which was open.
"Thank you, darling." Evelynn smiled after chewing and swallowing the hash browns that were fed to her.
"Y-You're welcome." Akali blushed and looked down, shoveling some hash browns into her own mouth.
"Merry Christmas, Akali."
Akali lifted her head up surprisedly and lowered it again.
"Y-Yeah. Merry Christmas to you too, Eve."
Fin!
To those who celebrate it, happy Thanksgiving! To those who don't, Merry Christmas! To those who don't celebrate either, then happy new year! I mean, you have to celebrate that, right? Jokes aside, I originally wanted to write some Lux x Katarina Christmas fluff, but it turned into a huge chain of stories and a new A/U which is this story. Whoops. Anyways, let me know if you want to see a Sett x Soraka story, Katarina x Lux story, or an MF x Nami story. Thanks for reading my little fanfic, and I hope to see you on the next chapter! ❤️❤️
