Hangover Self: sorry, no, not a coma, that would have been smart tho… Hey, that's ok being hungover again, if that's your way to let off some steam, so be it
Someone asked me if I'm going to continue with No Name, I will once I'm done with this, this is a short one, I'm almost done with it.
Holly finally calls Rachel. She mentions how her fiancée got a job in the area and so did she, so they moved to Toronto. Rachel's a little peeved that Holly hadn't called earlier, claiming that her and Lisa could have helped Holly move into her new house. Holly laughs, knowing the idea of Lisa and work, menial work, work that just about anybody could do, like caring boxes up a flight of stairs is not her thing. Rachel laughs too and changes her offer, "well, maybe I would have helped. So what's Trish like?"
"She's nice," Holly says.
Rachel kind of scoffs, "I hope she's nice you agreed to marry her."
That makes Holly laugh, "I did," she says rather fondly.
"She's not like the last one, is she?"
"What?! NO," Holly says forcefully, "I hope not," she softens. Taking a second, kind of nervous all of a sudden, "why would you even mention that?"
Rachel ignores Holly and says, "good. What did you say her name was again?"
"Trish."
"I thought Trish was the one who decided you work too much," Rachel says confused.
"No, that was Tanya; she also wanted to get back with her ex…"
"Oh…right, the one with the wandering eye," says Rachel.
"No, that was Tenley, I didn't really think we would get past six months."
"OH," Rachel now sounds incredibly confused. "Well, let's just hope…"
"Trish," Holly helps, knowing that her friend is just purposely bugging her because she can.
"That Trish actually wants to stick with you," Rachel jokes with her friend; Holly doesn't exactly have the best track record when picking suitable partners.
Holly smiles into her phone, happy to be catching up with her friend from so long ago, but feeling like no time has passed. "What are you doing next weekend?" Holly asks. "Cause I was thinking, you and Lisa could meet Trish, and I could use some friends. I mean Trish is great, but sometimes-"
Rachel cuts her off, "I know exactly how you feel. I need my just friends nights too. How about this, the three of us meet up next weekend and in a couple of weeks you can bring Trish?"
Holly thinks about it, she likes the idea of just seeing her friends and being able to reminisce and catch up, but she knows Trish will want to finally meet Holly's friends. "How about next time it's just you, Lisa, and me. I'll bring Trish with me this time; she'll realize how boring we all are and not want to come out with us next time."
"Ouch," jokingly says Rachel, "just because I'm married and a mom now doesn't mean I'm boring." A ding goes off in the back ground. "Oh! The oven's ready! Sorry but I have to go Hol, my oven's ready!"
Holly is all laughter, "see you later Rach."
"Maybe I am boring," Holly hears Rachel mutter to herself, "that is not the reaction most people have to their oven being at the ideal heating temperature…"
Holly hits end call as she continues to laugh at her friend.
Gail by chance runs into Holly at the city morgue where the blonde has been working with Rodney on some specifics of a case. "Holly," Gail says.
"Gail," says Holly, they address each other in the hallway of the massive medical building.
"Trivia night tonight," Gail says by way of offering, "I need another person on my team."
"I can't. I have a thing."
"Oh," Gail raises her eyebrow, "secret plans with your secret fiancée."
Holly smiles, "not really, we're going to get drinks with some of my friends from med school."
"Should I be offended?" asks Gail.
Holly tilts her head, looking for more than just that from the blonde, sometimes Holly is not able to follow where the blonde is going with her train of thought.
"You've been working with us for several months now and been getting drinks with us after work, how come you've never brought her with you? Are we not good enough to meet her?" Gail somewhat jokes, but also very curious to see who this mystery woman is, wanting to see what she's envisioned for Holly's fiancée, if the prediction and the reality match up.
Holly laughs. "Soon," she says as an answer. "We're going to meet my friends tonight-"
"You're real friends," Gail quips jokingly with big eyes and a little head shake.
Holly smiles, "maybe next week or something, she just works odd hours sometimes and it can be tough to arrange meet ups," Holly says by way of excuse, also she's not really sure she wants Gail or her other work friends to meet her fiancée just yet.
"Well that works out perfectly," says Gail, "we all work odd hours around here, I'm sure one of these days our screwy hours will align and we will all be able to share a drink together."
Holly looks at her questioningly, like why is she being so persistent. Holly ignores it all and says, "I'm sure one day it will." She looks down at her watch, "oops, I have to go." She passes some files off to Rodney, whom Gail completely forgot was there, the brunette gives him some instructions on what needs to be done with them, Holly says goodbye to both, turns around and leaves the same way she came.
Both Gail and Rodney watch her leave. Rodney's the first one to talk, "I'm free tonight for trivia."
Gail pauses a moment before she actually responds to the man in a lab coat, "you're in luck, I need another body and I'm quite desperate."
Rodney thinks for a minute, deciding whether or not he should go, he wasn't exactly invited and clearly wasn't going to be invited by the blonde, but he does want to make work friends, "I'm in," he says.
"Good, be at the Penny by 8, you're on my team."
"Thanks Detective Peck."
"Gail," says Gail.
Rodney smiles, "thanks, Gail."
"I have to get back to the station, check in with Detective Nash." Gail looks at her phone to see if there has been any update that Traci has found, but no new messages from her, just something from Chloe that Gail automatically deletes, probably coordinating outfits for tonight's themed trivia thing, pass, Gail isn't dressing up for trivia, some people have way too much time on their hands thinks Gail. "See you tonight," she says to Rodney.
