AN: In this during a few scenes in which Bonnie and Elena are talking-no, Bonnie is not being bashed but Elena is being honest and yes, Elena is entirely out of character

Chapter Two:

Klaus was reeling from the words this girl-his daughter-just said.

Daughter? His mind was trying to see who could possibly be the mother and none of the women he thought up were even alive and then again, they wouldn't be able to have a child with him.

She could see the wheels in his head turning at an alarming rate, trying to figure out who her mother is when she decided to help him out.

"You haven't met her yet," she explained and he raised an eyebrow. "She's a triggered werewolf and you haven't met her yet." She didn't know much about their first meeting but she knew that her Aunt Elena and her had an almost sister like bond.

"Then why are you here in this time?" He asked and she blew out a breath of air.

"I made a few mistakes and I'm the reason my mom and Aunt are dead," her voice was flat and dead. "I caused their deaths and I want to fix my mistakes." A tear fell from her eye. "I saw how my uncle looked at the death of his mate and how my father-how you-reacted to seeing my mom die." She shook her head. "It was my fault! If I don't exist-" he stopped her.

"If you don't exist I'm pretty sure that something worse would have happened," he told her. "If you killed yourself how do you think me-in the future-will feel?"

She averted her gaze.

"Depressed," she answered as she stared at the tiled floor. "Depressed and suicidal like me." She looked up at him and he saw the tears. "The witches and wolves in New Orleans called me their murderer. I couldn't even walk into the Quarter without them calling me a freak and a murderer."

"Then ignore them," for some reason Klaus was feeling more…alive and human with her then he had ever felt. Maybe Elijah was right and he had redemption? "Those witches and wolves are useless."

"Nik I have your precious doppelganger," the two looked to see Rebekah walking with Elena who had her brows furrowed. "She has some information for us." Elena went to walk over to Hope when Klaus stood in front of her, not wanting her near his future daughter.

Maybe he should lie and say she's a relative of theirs to make why he's protecting her so much?

"What kind of information do you have for me?" He asked. "Though I thought you were dead?"

"When you drained me John died for me," she told him with a shrug. "I already grieved for him and I barely knew him." She added at their worried faces as she spoke of his death so calmly. "He was the absentee uncle that gives you some of the worst presents from wherever his travels take him."

"None of my uncles are like that," Hope muttered. "I think their wives would have their heads." She remembered her Aunts Elena and Rebekah actually threatening their mates with cold showers, sleeping on the couch and so many things that honestly terrified her own father while her mother nodded along.

"Smart women," Elena told her with a grin. "Nice seeing you again and thanks for your help with the pranks."

"Pranks?" Rebekah echoed.

"Today is the annual Senior Prank Day," Elena explained. "Now as my friends and I had some ideas I came up with 'write them down and place them in a hat'," she snorted. "I believe they cheated and had picked their pranks that they wanted while I was stuck with one of their crappier ones." She rolled her eyes heavenward. "Silly string is so overrated!"

"I like her," Rebekah said smiling at the Petrova doppelganger. "Tell my big brother Kol that." She looked positively gleeful at the thought of a prank her brother would love being called 'overrated'.

Klaus eyed the two and shook his head, a small smirk on his lips as he saw how friendly they were while Hope smiled inwardly. She had known her Aunts were 'BFFs' and something cemented it but she wasn't sure what it was.

"What information do you have?" He asked again as he led her into the gymnasium with a hand on her arm. He had thought he would have to drag her but she walked with him like she was an equal.

"I tell you what you want to know and you do some things for me," she bartered. "You get the info and do some things my way or I'll tell Rebekah before you."

Bonnie Bennett didn't like the way Matt said that he wanted to talk to his sister Vicki and the best way was to drown. Sure he had the ring on but this was crazy.

It was almost as crazy as her idea of spelling the hat to give her, Matt, Caroline and Tyler the better pranks then Elena. The doppelganger was already too fragile and she thought this was the perfect way to protect her-it had to be better than Damon's idea of locking her up in his house.

"Don't worry Bon," Matt told her before he dove into the water. "It'll be fine." Now she was worried, as he wasn't floating up so she dove into the water, her arms cutting through the cold liquid and going downward. The second she saw him she pulled him up to the surface where Tyler was and both had him on the cement near the edge of the pool.

"Tyler I need you to do CPR on him," Bonnie ordered as she stood up and faced Caroline who just entered nervously, the necklace that Elena had given her around her neck (that was the same necklace Stefan gifted the brunette Bonnie noted). "Care it's going to be fine."

"I just saw Stefan here," the blonde baby vampire reported nervously. "It was like the second he saw me he wanted me. He's been chasing me and it's…" she wasn't sure how to explain it as the few times he had caught her in some of the empty classrooms that he kissed her in, feeling her up as he pinched her waist.

"Found you," the witch and the vampire turned to see Stefan there with a predatory glint in his eye at the sight of Caroline. "Mine now."

"…so you want someone named Tyler dead?" Rebekah asked, curiously. Apparently this doppelganger was a conundrum to her.

Klaus was away with the girl-Hope-and talking somewhere private. He also thought that Rebekah and Elena would have things in common.

Elena raised an eyebrow as she paced in front of them, completely at ease. It wasn't the first time she was in front of vampires who had nefarious reasons and while she never outwardly showed calm or agitation she did show fear.

She wasn't afraid anymore after Caroline's cousin Kaylee had done a spell that removed any and all compulsions from her. Each time she would think about her actions that she did she never knew why she would do them…until now.

Throwing a vervain grenade at Elijah's face when she wanted to leave with him? Damon compelled her to follow him and his brother's words.

Daggering Elijah? Damon compelled her to do what he said and that included stabbing herself to get Elijah to follow her demands.

If there was a vampire she hated more than Klaus then it had to be Damon and surprisingly enough she didn't even hate Klaus. She felt horrible for him-he had been born as a wolf before being cursed.

It was the adage of nature versus nurture though in this case she was placing blame on both-nature and nurture.

"No one treats my little brother like a one night stand," she told her. "I caught him leaving my little brother's bedroom, as my brother silently cried, as Tyler said that he was a 'one night stand' and that no one would want a 'real relationship' with him." Her eyes narrowed. "If he said that to me I wouldn't care, he's actually said worse to me but when it comes to my family…" her eyes were fiercer and if Rebekah didn't believe she was human she would have thought she were a fire witch or something as her eyes looked like tiny flames. "I'll go for the jugular."

Rebekah being a younger sister knew how older siblings worked to a tee. Elijah and Klaus burned it into Kol's skull when they were children that it was the older sibling's job and duty to protect the younger one no matter what.

She knew that if this had happened to little Henrik-if he were alive nowadays-she would have happily slaughtered everyone who treated him like that and left the pieces for their relatives to find.

"Do you want me to kill him?" She asked as she looked at her nails, wondering if she could get away with slaughtering a child.

"I want him to suffer like I want Stefan to," Elena told her. "He is our mutual ex and I get that but I would have liked a better breakup then him calling and saying 'it is over'."

Klaus had Hope sitting in a different classroom-in fact, it was the history classroom that he had infiltrated while he possessed Alaric.

"To make sure that people understand why I'm protecting you we need to come up with a lie," he told her. "I will tell Rebekah, Kol, Elijah and Finn-" she stopped him with a question.

"Who is Finn?" He seemed taken aback and leaned back in the chair he was in. "I remember you and Uncles Kol and Elijah talking about an older brother who would be happy to kill you all off."

"Finn is our big brother," he explained. "Elijah has taken up that role as Finn seemed…bothered by having us all for siblings."

"No wonder Aunt Freya mentions him from time to time," she realized and it was his turn to look curiously at her. "Aunt Freya is Finn's big sister."

"The true eldest sibling," he breathed. "She didn't die?" Hope blinked.

"She's quite alive," Hope told him. "I wasn't told her story though. She seemed kinda sketchy whenever I asked her and then she changes the subject."

He wanted to know more but if he wanted the future to be better than what Hope had gone through then he had to be content with what information she can give him without exploiting everything.

"For now you are a distant relative," he told her. "A distant relative of ours on our mother's side so you can call us all Aunt and Uncle."

She nodded and murmured, "it's going to be hard for me."

"It's hard for me knowing that I have a daughter in the future and I don't know who the mother is," he reminded her. "Though it seems like Uncle Elijah was right-I can be redeemed."

"Everyone can if they want," Hope recited what her Aunt Elena told her one day. "They want to be redeemed and will work for it."

"Whoever told you that was a saint," he chuckled. "I should give them flowers."

"You did something else for her," Hope whispered. "You made her my godmother." She looked at her hands. "She was the aunt who died with mom because of me."

Klaus grabbed her hands and forced her to look at him. The second she did, her eyes were watering and tears were falling.

"It wasn't your fault Hope," he reminded her and to him, it was true. "Don't believe you were at fault."

Tyler wasn't sure why he was in the gymnasium where this blonde girl named Rebekah told him to go until he saw Elena glowering at him. He knew why she was angry and honestly, he had been truthful.

Jeremy wasn't a suitable person to be in a relationship with considering he dated Vicki, Anna and Bonnie and had broken Bonnie's heart.

"What are you going to do?" He asked Elena who smirked. She walked over to him and broke his arm, causing him to fall to his knees and Rebekah broke his knee. "Damn it!"

"Oh did that hurt?" Elena asked in a mocking voice, unknowing that Stefan was there with Caroline, Bonnie, Matt, Klaus and Hope. "Good. If I could kill you I would but I doubt there's enough bleach in the world to get the blood and stench of mutt out of my clothes."

"Elena," she looked to see Bonnie looking at her in horror. "You don't mean that." She refused to believe that Elena wanted to kill someone. It wasn't in her nature as she was the good, virtuous one.

"I mean that," Elena told her. "I barely care about how he treats me and that's like how Damon and Stefan treat Katherine-with vile ignorance and disgust." She glowered at Tyler who was trying to stand up. "When he went after my brother-that draws the line." She kicked Tyler in the face, allowing blood to spill on the floor. "When he treated my brother like he was some random druggie that he could have a night of fun with and make him feel like crap afterwards? I'll even deal with the devil himself to kill Tyler." She stepped on the fallen wolf's stomach. "Useless, worthless little bitch."

Rebekah smirked at the vindictiveness of Elena and with the way Tyler reacted to those words she knew that Elena hit a sore spot.

"So it looks like you're the useless worthless little bitch," Rebekah taunted. "What do you think we have planned next?"

Elena pretended to look thoughtful.

"See if he can swim while wearing a chain connected to an anchor," Elena said viciously. "You don't go after my family and expect to live." She pulled him up with one fist and punched him as hard as she could; literally making some of his teeth come out.

The slow clapping made Rebekah turn around and Elena look up to see Klaus there, a wicked grin on his face

"It appears that you are slowly becoming my favorite doppelganger," he told her with a cruel glint in his eye. "What do you want done?"

"First I want Elijah undaggered," she told him. "Then I want Tyler dead. If I get those things I'll be your little spy." She walked over to him and held her hand out. "Do we have a deal?"

"Don't make that deal," Bonnie ordered Elena as she walked towards her, making Elena turn to look at her. "Sure Tyler's made mistakes but this is insane. He didn't mean it." She looked from the wolf to the doppelganger. "Are you really going to have him killed because of Jeremy?"

"You resurrected Jeremy and have been regretting it," Elena reminded her as Bonnie recoiled with Elena's words. "I've seen it in your eyes and expression. He can see the dead and sure he spent time with Anna who he had a connection with. He didn't mean to do what he did yet you're still holding it against him." She averted her gaze from the angry gaze of Elena.

"That's different," Bonnie defended.

"No it's not," Elena countered. "It's not different and if you have a younger sibling you would want the same thing as I do, justice for them."

"I agree with Elena," Caroline whispered which shocked Bonnie. "Bonnie we don't have younger siblings but I know that if Tyler did what he did to Jeremy to any of my younger siblings I would want him killed as well." She didn't want to look at Stefan who was on the same wavelength while Matt was horrified by what he was hearing.

Liz Forbes was grinning as her niece Kaylee entered the house after binging in the library, getting ready for the new school year in which she would be a senior.

The blonde haired green eyed beauty would be at senior prank night at the high school but she wanted her studies to be done first and Elena had been helping her until they got to math.

Her aunt didn't know that Kaylee was a witch and had a major power build up-more so then any other witch by a significant margin.

She wasn't expecting a call until Jeremy Gilbert's ringtone began to blast from her phone. Answering it, she was curious.

"Jeremy? What's wrong?" She thought he was adorable and a little brother to her.

"Can you make a Daylight Ring for someone?" He asked though he sounded as though he were breathless from something other than exercise.

"I'll be over there later on with the ring for your friend," she told him with a smile on her face before hanging up.

Matt and Bonnie were horrified as Klaus shook Elena's hand when Matt found his voice.

"We know why the hybrids aren't working the way you think they should be," he looked at Bonnie who nodded. "They need doppelganger blood."

"To add to the deal," Elena drawled. "My services-including monthly blood donations-is for Elijah to be undaggered and Tyler dead." She raised an eyebrow at him. "Is that a better deal?"

"I have a feeling this deal will make others horrified about your intentions," he mused as he shook her hand. "Why do you want Elijah undaggered love?"

"I need a vampire bodyguard who won't compel me to be a puppet," she told him. "I want free will and to be me-not a mockery or a marionette puppet." She made sure to have eye contact with him. "I also don't want to be smothered and treated like an invalid. I'm not a fragile piece of glass who can't do anything."

Klaus eyed Stefan who shrugged and Caroline who averted her blue green eyes from him.

"Damon," Matt supplied. "Damon Salvatore."

"I'm sorry if us treating you like that annoyed you," Caroline whispered as she made her way to Elena. "I'm so sorry."

"I can do things and I can stand on my own," she whispered to the blonde. "You don't need to treat me like I'm a porcelain doll. Every little injury-a paper cut or a sprain-I don't need a mouthful of blood."

Klaus took Elena's wrist and bit into it, forcing Hope to smell the blood and connect it to the blood she found in the cooler.

"Just a moment love," he whispered to Elena gently. "Tyler mate, let me heal you up." He bit into his wrist and forced his blood into Tyler's mouth then he snapped his neck, causing Bonnie to scream in horror. "I'm the devil in disguise sweetheart. I can possibly turn you to the dark side."

"Oh Nik…your pickup lines need work," Rebekah drawled. "You'd have better luck doing a pub crawl all through New Orleans and Saint Tropez." Hope choked and covered it with a cough as she remembered her Aunt Rebekah saying something along those lines to every male member of her family.

It was hilarious to see whenever they would forget a significant date like birthdays or even wedding anniversaries.

Klaus glowered at his little sister before looking at Tyler who woke up instantly and latched onto Elena's bleeding wrist, forcing her to grit her teeth.

"That's enough now chap," Klaus said and Tyler let her go. "Interesting." He walked around Tyler before smirking. "It looks like I have a sire bond." He shrugged before looking Tyler in the eye. "Rip out your own heart."

Before anyone of them could stop Tyler did indeed rip out his own heart, collapsing to the ground.

"Come along love," Klaus said to Elena as Rebekah healed her wrist with a drop of blood from her finger she pricked. "We all should go home." Taking Elena's hand and Hope's hand in both of his, the two Originals left with Elena and Hope.
