OOOOOOOHHHH I have been waiting for a while to write this one. I've read about many people doing a chapter about Barry's backstory of his life while eating with the Avengers, so I'm gonna give it a go and I hope I do well. Disclaimer: This will be looong.
But first...
r3ggc4lderon: Hahaha I love Ronan and Tej and how they're personality actually relates to their culture (hope that doesn't sound offensive or racist) And I thought how the Writers of Avengers didn't really do good on Sam or Rhodey. There will be more of those funny moments. I'ma make it a thing Lmaooo!
Chloe: "Thanks! Hope you're enjoying it. And I hope you like this one,"
By the way, I have been reading so much of comics about Barry and can I just say "I F* LOVE THEM!" Hence which is why I'ma be talking about a few things from the comics in my chapters. For instance; in my last chapter I had Steve call Barry humble. In the Flash rebirth comic: the last race of Wally West, at the very end of it, Batman admitted that he thinks Barry as a humble one. Which is a great personality trait, so I had to have Steve call him that.
That's one of the many things I will be saying from the comics. But keep in mind; This is Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) not the comic one with blonde hair.
One more thing, my friends are always telling me to keep my readers entertained. So tell me...what do you want to see in one of my chapters? Feel free to say whatever and I'll take them Into consideration.
And with that being said, enjoy!
Chapter 5- Barry Allen's Old Life
Avengers Compound
Night
It's been about 2 months of Barry being in the compound, and even though he wonders about his friends back home, his new ones are simply working just fine. There's no one to yell at him, scold at him, or blame him. But even with all of that, Barry still is trying to work on how to accept his mistake which is too much for him right now.
He's never told anyone about Flashpoint not even Steve. He needs to figure it out on his own before talking about it to his new friends.
In fact, despite Barry being here for a couple of week, he's surprisingly learned a lot about his new friends but it took some time and a lot of confidence, but he's learned so much. Such as; Steve. He recently found out that Steve was a soldier who fought with a shield in World War II in the 40's against blood sucking Nazis. He actually punched Hitler before which surprised the hell out of Barry. Before Steve was this bad ass with a shield and a sick ass red, blue and white suit, he was actually a scrawny kid in Brooklyn who was always getting into fights in alleyways. Until one day, Steve was injected with a serum called: the super soldier serum. It granted him speed, agility, super strength, stamina and a great amount of durability. Barry was astounded when he heard all of this, but what really made him drop his jaw at super speed was that Steve was actually in frozen ice for 70 years due to a time when a bomb was on board a plane so he had to crash it in the Arctic Ocean which is impossible, but then Barry remembers the time when Kara told him about Hyper Sleep. It's basically the functions of the body not being able to age or active due to all of the body merely slow down, which makes sense why Steve woke up in New York 70 years later.
He got around and figured out some things about the red haired girl who is named Natasha Romanoff. The last name seemed to Intrigue Barry since he has never met a last name so...exotic. She was a Russian spy in the late 1960's, where she was brainwashed and ripped away from her family and taken to a Soviet training facility in Belarus, Russia by the KGB. There, she learned how to kill, face fears, hand-to-hand combat training, and tactical skills. Which is why she's such a bad ass and knows how to deal with her enemies. Her story also seems to fascinate Barry since it almost sounds like what happened with Oliver on Lian Yu-minus the brainwash.
Someone else he got to learn about was James Rhodes and Sam Wilson. They seem to be the ones who have a sense of humor in this entire earth since Barry's arrival. Sam is the corny and hilarious guy who could make Barry laugh just like Cisco back in Star Labs...though, it's still hard to even say he's a friend after Flashpoint. Rhodey is the more serious and less humor one, which kinda reminds Barry of Diggle in Oliver's Arrow team. Pretty sure if Oliver heard him say that, he is gonna have an arrow right through Barry's eyes sockets. But they both are fun to hang out with in the compound since Steve and Natasha are the really serious ones and do not like jokes what so over.
Then theres the humanoid pink robot who was named The Vision. That does not seem like a Cisco approved name but he really shouldn't say anything since he has a friend named Diggle, regardless Cisco likes it so I guess he could say something, but that wouldn't be good manners for Barr. Honestly, Barry seemed bothered by Vision due to sometimes when his friend Wanda doesn't look, he can sometimes see him linger at her-almost like he's stalking her which really bothered Barry. Yet Barry still shouldn't say nothing since he did the same thing with Iris when he first started as the Flash. Even though he's a human AI, he should probably learn about boundaries.
This one he's been waiting to hear about. The archer who Barry saved back in that European town, Sokovia named Clint Barton. He one day came into the compound and met Barry where they had a moment. Clint was a nice guy, he had a wife and kids it was almost like a settled version of Oliver. He was very curious on how he is in battle, hope he gets to see sometime. He's not going anywhere for a while anyway.
Another new person he met was a Billionaire named Tony Stark. He was very hard to describe due to his enormous ego when he met him. Tony was a guy who does not play by anyone's rules, he sometimes has a humor like Sam but a little more extreme. Tony was smart as hell. A '186 IQ to be exact' Pretty sure he's smarter than Ray Palmer or Cisco probably, which is saying something. Tony is alright-I mean he did create his Ironman suits and has the right skill set to do it which was something Barry was never able to do back on Earth-1.
Through all of time being here, there was one person he loves to hang around with and that was the beautiful Sokovian girl, Wanda Maximoff. Maybe cause it was in spite of what happened to Pietro in Sokovia or maybe his guilt but he just loved to hang out with Wanda, she seemed to be someone who he could be comfortable with, which also seemed to remind him about...Iris. Sure Barry loves Iris and is technically still her boyfriend, but Wanda just seems to be so nice and caring and smart- not to mention she was hot. But Barry doesn't care about the looks. To him, the looks are just add ons. It was all about the personality she had that just engaged Barry to keep talking and hang out with her. For a week she was very closed off and a bit depressed but after being with her for another couple of weeks, she seemed to open up to only Barry. Telling him moments about Pietro or talking about her family, Barry never talked about his life since it was something he didn't feel like sharing yet.
In a way, Wanda seemed to remind Barry about himself. It reminds him about how after his mother died by Thawne he began to shut everyone out, even his adoptive father Joe and his daughter and best friend Iris. He would always just throw fits, get angry so easy due to Joe never letting him see his father in Iron Heights penitentiary, and he would just be this stubborn and annoying kid that no one would even like to raise. But, after a few more attempts by Joe and Barry realizing what he's doing to this poor family, he finally opens his doors again and lets everyone in, which is also how he was able to be friends with Manuel at college. So he hoped that if Wanda was able to get out of Pietro's bedside for a while, that maybe she could start to actually open up like he did. And surprisingly, it actually worked. She began to talk more, laugh more, feel more, and she even brought some of the Avengers in. This friendship with Wanda is something he does not want to loose.
Barry was sitting on the couch in the lounge with Wanda who had her feet on him as she lays all the way back, reading a book. And Sam is on the other couch with a controller in hand, staring intensely at the 80 inch 4K TV. The perks of Tony being a billionaire is that the Avengers get to have the expensive stuff that Barry was never able to experience.
Barry grunts as he mashed a few buttons on the controller as he stares at the TV. They are both playing Mortal Kombat X with Sam being Scorpion and Barry as Liu Kang.
Barry grunts. "Come on Sam, got to keep up," he cockingly says as his character; Liu Kang shoots a fire ball at Scorpion, who was trying to use his demon dash to grab him and combo him but was too late.
"Barry, I play fighting games for a living man, I can take your speedy ass," Sam argued as he clicked a few buttons which causes his character; Scorpion to launch Liu Kang in the air, enough time for Scorpion to uppercut him with his sword before throwing multiple commands, juggling Liu Kang in the air before using an X-ray.
"No!" Barry exclaimed before laying back on the chairs arm rest, defeated and rest his head on his hands while he watches Scorpion kick Revenant Liu Kang in the jaw, breaking it and sending him into the air, impales him in the gut then the face with his spear, using the spear to bring him down, crushing Liu Kang's spine. Then the animation stops and Liu Kang's head start to spin around as the announcer says deeply FINISH HIM!
Barry sighs as he watches Sam put in a few commands which creates an animation of Scorpion shooting a fire ball into Liu Kang's chest, making a big hole and his heart popping out of place with it still beating.
Then, Barry's character falls on his knees and stays there for a second, and with a swish, Scorpion cuts off half of Liu Kang's face, revealing his cut up brain falling out as the other half of his face falls too.
The character falls to the ground and blood begins to ooze out of Liu Kang's dead corpse.
SCORPION WINS! FATALITY!
"Come on man," Barry says as he frustratingly throw the controller on a small futon in front of him.
"Oohhhh hoooo! I just kicked the fastest man alive's ass," Sam triumphantly bragged and Barry rolls his eyes.
"Whatever," he simply says. "Speaking of kicking ass, I've got to go train," Barry says before taking Wanda's legs off of him and she groans.
"Really, Barry? I was comfortable," Wanda complained as she playfully hit Barry with the book and Barry laughs.
"You'll be fine. I'll see you in a bit," Barry dryly says before walking out of the living room and into the training room.
After Barry left, Sam pauses the game and leans over at Wanda.
"So...what's going on between you and the scarlet speedster?" Sam questioned and Wanda rolls her eyes.
"Seriously?" She annoyingly asks. Ever since Barry and Wanda started to hang out more, everyone besides Vision has been pestering her questions about her and Barry's being more than just friends cause they are way to friendly to each other.
Training room
2 hours later
Steve groans as he was thrown to the ground by Barry who was standing over him, getting tired.
"Get up! We're not done," Barry commands and Steve laughs at Barry's expense as he tries to catch his breath.
After not being able to, Steve holds out his hand waiting for Barry to pull him up. Barry grins before picking him up and laughs. "You have definitely improved, Barr," Steve admitted and Barry nodded his head.
"Yeah, I realized I should stop using my speed so much and just enjoy the little things, you know?" Barry calmly says and Steve nods.
"Definitely. But remember; don't get to cocky or you might loose focus which can influence your moves which makes you predictable. You gotta stay focused at all times when it comes to fighting," Steve advised and Barry gave him a firm nod with a serious face. Steve then walks off to put his gloves away.
A question then pondered Barry's thought, and that was if The Avengers ever go out to do something? Do they just stay here waiting for adventure, or do they sometimes leave and have fun? Now that he thinks about it Barry has never seen any of the Avengers leave the compound. That can't be healthy right?
"Hey could I ask you something? Something that's been nagging me," Barry calls out and Steve turns his head to Barry.
Steve raises an eyebrow. "Uh yeah sure, everything alright?" He asks.
Barry slightly tilts his head. "Well yeah, but I don't know this is kinda bothering me and since you're my friend I can tell you anything, right?" Barry asks and Steve nods.
"Barry you can always tell me anything. Look, I may be a leader but I'm also your teammate and friend. So whatever is bothering you don't have to be afraid to let me know if something bad is going on," Steve calmly says and Barry nods.
"Okay well, I've been in here for about almost two weeks and I love it here! But...don't you and the Avengers-I don't know go out?" Barry curiously asks.
Steve narrows his eyes as he makes a face. Truth be told, Barry's right, they haven't gone out in a while. They haven't even talk with each other a lot, it's like they're...complete strangers. Barry being here and telling him just confirms it.
"Wow! I guess you're kinda right. We just been so busy with our enemies, that we actually never really got the chance to 'enjoy the little things' and hang out like actual friends," Steve says, quoting Barry who grins.
Barry breathed. "Okay so let's go out. Have some fun, enjoy New York. I've never really been in here before so I'm curious on what sight seeing we could do," Barry says with a smile at the end.
Steve stays silent for a few seconds before letting out a long sigh and an expression that is showing him that he's budging open.
"Fine. Get the rest of the team and tell them to dress nice. I'll talk to Stark, see if he could lend us some money to eat or go anywhere,"Steve ordered and Barry smiles widely before walking out of the training room and into the lounge, finally being able to get out of the compound.
He makes his way to the living room where he sees Sam and Wanda now accompanied by Natasha and Rhodey, who were all laughing with each other- well at least Rhodey and Sam are, Wanda and Natasha are having their own conversation.
Natasha was one of the people she let in, it was probably cause they were girls and she needed to talk to girls and not only a speedster.
"Hey guys," Barry calls out and the Avengers all stop talking with each other and glance over at Barry. "Steve wants us to go out for the night, yall down for that?" Barry asks.
"Definitely!" Sam cheered as he got to his feet. "I've been dying to get out of here man," Sam says.
"Facts, We've been locked up in this facility like prisoners, we need some fresh air-that New York fresh air," Rhodey agrees with a small chuckle.
Barry turns towards Natasha and Wanda. "girls?" he asks.
"I have not done nothing but just sit on my bed and watch TV feeling bored...A night out in a new country should help, right?" Wanda says uncertainty towards Barry who nods with a grin.
"Nat?" Barry asks as he looks at Natasha who had one of her hands on Wanda's shoulder.
"Screw it, sure why not. Is Rogers tagging along?" She asks and Barry nods.
"He said he needs it. So...anyone know any good places to go in New York?" Barry joked while Sam and Rhodey grin at each other.
Restaurant
Night
After watching a great movie called Masterminds starting Zach Galifanakis, Kristen wig, Jason Sudeikis, and Wanda commenting saying Jason's cute which for some reason bothered Barry, it was finally time for the night to end. Hence is why Barry, Wanda, Natasha, Rhodey, Steve, and Sam are at having dinner at an Applebees. They were seated at a booth with some spinach dip and chips they ordered minutes ago.
The table was filled with laughter warranted by Sam who was telling a joke that Barry laughed at. They then begin to start throwing stories at one another.
"That's when the boomerang flies through out the cortex of the lab and Cisco's all like, 'That's my bad. That's on me," Barry finished and Sam, Steve, Natasha and Rhodey laugh as Wanda smiles in amusement.
"My god this Cisco guy sounds like a klutz," Natasha commented before taking a sip of her wine and Steve noticed Barry's face after he talked about Cisco which indicated that Barry was feeling homesick.
"You miss him?" Steve asks, feeling sorry for his new friend and Barry slightly nods.
"I miss all of them," Barry admitted before looking down at his shoes. He picks himself back up, "But I know they would want me to try and run and live my life-pun intended," Barry said and some chuckles can be heard around the booth.
Silence took over for a few seconds until Sam breaks it and says, "Actually Barry, speaking of running, I have to ask, how did you get your powers? How did you become the Flash?" Sam asks, so curious how this CSI became the fastest man alive.
Barry sighs feeling that maybe he should just come clean with his past. After all, they are his teammates and friends.
Then, the song Paralyzed by NF was starting playing in the background and as on cue, Barry takes a deep breath, then says, "When I was eleven, my mother was murdered."
When did I become so numb?
The table goes quiet as they're faces dropped at exceeding speed and just stare at Barry with sorrow. Barry glances around him then continues,
When did I loose myself?
"My mom was getting ready to tuck me in one night, and my father was standing by my bedside, asking me to get some sleep because I had school the next day. But I couldn't sleep since I was terrified of the dark; nonetheless, my mother assisted me in overcoming this fear. It had been a fantastic evening. But then I awoke to a noise, scanned my room, and noticed the water in my fish tank flowing through the air, and I realized something was wrong. When I returned downstairs, I found my mother kneeling on our carpet, scared and crying, pleading with me to return upstairs, but I couldn't move because I was so traumatized by what appeared to be a tornado of yellow and red lightning. In the midst of the storm, I noticed a man dressed in a yellow suit. My father was attempting to assist her, but the lightning was moving so rapidly that anyone who got too close would most likely be injured, so my father only tried to help her from where he was, holding me."
I'm paralyzed, where is the real me?
Barry's voice begins to crack, talking about his mother and his past is hard for him, especially when himself hasn't been able to cope with it yet.
I'm lost and it kills me inside. I'm paralyzed
"My father begged me to run, but I didn't want to because my mother was right there, helpless. Then, out of nowhere, a flash of light appeared in front of my eyes, and I was 20 blocks from my home. When I returned, cops were present because some adjacent neighbors had heard the commotion and filed a complaint. When I arrived, though, two cops had my father in their grip and were loading him into a cop car. I went to my house's front door, but a cop stopped me and told me I couldn't get in; however, I didn't listen since I was bewildered and panicked. Then a cop friend's father told me that I was Henry and Nora's child and that I had a right to know. The man's name was; Joseph West. He grabbed me, and led me into my house where I saw a few cops covering a body with a mat. Joe took me up to the body, and when we were close enough, he lowered the mat, revealing my mother, who had a knife puncture in her chest...where her heart should have been. I understood she had been brutally murdered. When I notified the cops, they didn't believe me and said I was making it up to protect my father." Barry pauses then says in a low voice, "My dad was framed for a murder he didn't commit,"
Barry's eyes began to well up with tears. Steve has a sympathetic expression on his face, whilst Natasha is enraged. Barry wipes his tears away and goes on with his story.
"As my life went, it became rather routine. Until one night, when I was at my lab, an accident occurred when a failing particle accelerator blew up, causing a black hole to form above the city, although the black hole was not the issue. When the Particle Accelerator exploded, it created a wave of energy known as dark matter, which caused a lightning bolt to strike me. All I remember is my body soaking up all the lightning, and then I was put in a coma for 9 months,"
Wanda expresses her fear by staring at Barr, who gives her a comforting grin before continuing on.
When did I become so cold?
When I woke up, I had super speed. And I also learned that the energy that went over the city was giving people powers, and I was one of them. We're called meta humans. So, working with Dr. Wells and my two good fri-," Barry trails off, thinking about Flashpoint and of all the damage he done, can he really call them his friends? My good acquaintances; Cisco and Caitlin, I was able to use my powers for the good of mankind, and when I would fight crime and save people that's when I knew I could be a superhero. I was the Flash. And as the Flash I met some great people who were also like or not like me. I met an archer called the Green Arrow and met some of his teammate.
"Green arrow? Sounds Interesting, I bet Clint would love to meet him," Natasha joked and Barry grins.
"Green Arrow vs Hawkeye? Definitely." Barry says before he goes back to his life.
"I also met Supergirl and some of her teammates. My life was going great as the Flash, but then it was that one night. I was in my lab just thinking, when I saw him. I saw the man that killed my mother, and we fought for hours; racing through the city, throwing punches at each other, but I lost. I told my team about him, and they helped me try to catch him."
"Did you catch him?" Sam asks, a hint of anger can be heard in his tone.
"Yeah. I did catch him, but I never thought that me finding out was gonna break me. The man that murdered my mother….was Dr. Harrison Wells." Barry was saying then takes a deep breath.
Sam and Steve both glanced at each other and Wanda couldn't help but to grab Barry's hand and he smiles at her.
"As I later discovered, the man in yellow was Dr. Wells, me and my team did some more digging and found out his real name is Eobard Thawne, the Reverse-Flash, a speedster from the future, who in the future was my arch enemy. Apparently in the future, me and him fought and he managed to run back in time, My future self followed him and fought in my house that night. It turns out the red and yellow lightning from my house that night was a future me and Thawne. My future self saved younger me, and in anger he killed my mom because the entire plan was to kill younger me."
"But, the whole incident drained Thawne's speed, and the only way to get it back and go back to his time was the Flash. So, he hunted down a scientist named Harrison Wells, and took up his identity. Years later, he created the Particle Accelerator."
"Which gave you your speed, right?" Rhodey inquires, now that he has a better comprehension of everything and is piecing it all together.
Barry looks down for a few moment before saying "Yeah." Barry responds in a low voice
"Uh-eventually me and my team found out Thawne's name and that he was hiding something, futuristic. With the help of Green Arrow and a meta human named Firestorm, I was able to beat him and trap him in a cell that can dampen meta humans powers, and since Thawne is a speedster, the dampeners work on him. I confronted him and asked him the question i've been dying to ask since I became the Flash. Why did he kill my mother?"
"And what did that scum bag say?" Rhodey asks, feeling so angry that his friend had to go through all of that.
"He simply said 'because I hate you'" Barry says in a low voice and the team all look so angry and sympathetic as they glance at each other while some shake their head in disbelief.
"I felt so angry when he said that. I wanted to kill him so bad right there, but he made me an offer, which surprised me. He gave me a chance to go back in time and save my mom, if only I would send him back to his time. I spoke to my entire team, and they all thought I should do it, because I suffered way too much and that I need a fresh start, but that would mean without my powers, and my friends i worked so hard to make. I would loose everything. But at first, I wanted to do it, I wanted to see my mom again, so i listened to him one last time and ran. I managed to go back in time, but before I could save her, my future self told me to not do it. I listened to him and I had to watch my mother die again and-,"
Barry trails off, his voice starting to choke and Wanda grips his hand even tighter, which seemed to calm him down a little.
"After the Reverse-Flash left out of my house in that time, I walked over to my mom who was holding her breath,"
Barry is now shedding a few tears, but he quickly wipes it away.
"I got to tell her that me and dad we're okay and that we love her before she died in my arms again. In the wake of that I understood that no matter what happens, my mom-and I hate having to admit it- but she has to die in order for me to be...The Flash," Barry pauses, and mused as he thinks back to what his mom said before she died in front of Barry.
"I returned back to my time and stopped Thawne. We beat him when his ancestor, Eddie Thawne a friend of mine, killed himself, erasing Thawne from existence."
"Wait so Eddie is Eobard's great great great grandfather?" Rhodey asks.
"Yeah it was still hard for me to understand with all of that If I'm being honest. "Barry grins and Rhodey half smiled.
"So you stopped Thawne?" Sam asks and Barry nods.
"I did. But my time travel ended up causing a singularity. Me and my team knew that the only way to stop it, was to slow it down it's I knew that I might not come back from that, but I didn't care about what happened to me, i cared about what was gonna happen to the people if i don't stop it. So I ran again, this time i was joined by Firestorm, who i never meant for him to sacrifice himself to destroy it."
"After what happened, I felt responsible about Ronnie; he was the meta human Firestorm, and the city, so I thought it was best if me and my team just stop working with each other for a while. Deciding it was probably best If none of my friends or family was near. That maybe they'll be safer and better off without me," Barry pauses then says coldly, "So I left."
"I continued to be the Flash on my own for 6 months, just repairing the damage I caused, saving more people without no one to back me up, having Chinese food alone in my lab while working on DNA and fingerprint analysis- It was like I didn't have friends. I was all alone. But, that's how I wanted it to be, cause every time anybody gets close to me, they end up either hurt, heartbroken, Or dead," Barry says and the whole team all look sorely at that before Barry continues. "Two weeks later, the city was having a ceremonial day regarding me-the Flash. I didn't want to go because I didn't deserve it, I don't deserve the city's support. I opened up a black hole in the sky and cause so many deaths and they still wanted to give me the key to the city."
"That's a huge honor," Steve comments with a small smile. Barry grins followed by another slight nod and fiddles with Wanda's hand along with his other free hand.
"I almost didn't go. I couldn't. I couldn't...face the city-not after what I did. I went anyway to the ceremonial cause I didn't want the city to see me as a coward. Until, a big strong man who goes by; Atom smasher, destroyed Flash day, destroying several hospitals and injuring civilians and cops in the process. I tried to stop him but I got sent back home with a few broken bones. It turns out, the singularity I created didn't just make a black hole. It created a gateway through the dimensional barrier which opens up between my earth and another earth. Earth-2. Then, after the 6 months metahumans from that Earth started to hunt me down and kill me. One of them being Al Ronstein aka Atom Smasher."
Natasha nods in understanding, now making sense of it all.
"They were sent by...Zoom," Barry's voice sharpens after saying the name. "He was a monster. He's an evil speedster from Earth-2. His goal was to be the only speedster in the multiverse and to rule my Earth. But a speedster from Earth-2 who was A time remnant of Jay came to join the lot. Although I didn't want to trust him but my friend Caitlin, the doctor who treats me whenever I get hurt by a meta, helps Jay, not cause it's her job but because 'he was hot.'
Sam and Rhodey lets out small silent chuckles, realizing Barry just rhymed on accident and the fact his doctor helped a man only cause it his appearance.
"Wait what's a time remnant?" Wanda asked, still gripping his hands.
"Basically, it's when a speedster goes back in time for a few seconds and creates a new version of himself," Barry explains.
The team looks at Barry in awe, unsure of what to make of it. They felt Barry's abilities, which he had already demonstrated, were insane. This one is definitely the high one on the list.
Barry goes on. "We trusted that man for 6 months until me and my team found out that Zoom…was Jay. After another betrayal I wanted to make sure I could stop him, so I went to the past and...asked Thawne for his help," Barry says hesitantly at the end, clenching his jaw.
"Wait you asked that son of a bitch for help?" Sam commented and Steve gives him a serious look for interrupting him.
"I didn't want to do it, I didn't even want to see him, not after what happened that year. But I needed Thawne so I could learn how to get faster and stop Zoom. It worked! We build the device and I was a little faster than him-4 times faster actually,"
Barry pauses then says, "After arriving back, Zoom and I were still going at it. At one point, I had to give up my speed to save Joe's son, Wally. We tried to get it back, but I actually kinda got sent to the source of my power; The Speed Force. It's basically a force of nature that can never die. I eventually got my speed back and was able to confront Jay who's name is actually Hunter Zoloman, he's a serial killer from earth-2 who also was struck by lightning. He's been sending meta-humans from his earth to mine for one goal. Kill me," Barry says.
"I thought-" Barry trails off, his voice choked again before using his free hand to cover his mouth with his eyes all watery and the team all look at him, concerned.
He rubs his hand over his mouth before he puts his hand down and says, "I thought after defeating most of his metas that he would delay himself. That I finally was holding all the cards. But I was wrong. When me and my friends and family were together, Zoom appeared out of now where and sped off with my dad. Unfortunately, Zoom felt determined to show we were alike. He had lost both parents. And so, that was the reason he took my dad and-" Barry then looks to side and thinks back to horrible moment.
"NOOOOO!!!!" Barry screams as he sees a vibrant hand through his father's chest.
"killed him in front of me." Barry says, tears strolling down his face. The team all look at Barry in shock and Wanda couldn't take it anymore so she hugs him tightly as he sobs in her shoulder.
The Avengers have been through some things. All of them have, but Barry...he's went through 5 different kinds of hell. No human should have to suffer that much.
"Did he get what he deserved?" Natasha Inquires with hatred for this Zoom monster.
Barry lets go of Wanda, wipes his tears and smiles at her, who returns one back. He then looks at the team. "I did. He challenged me to a race around a circular machine. Each loop we make around the Magnetar- it's what he called it, will charge it, and when it reaches its full potential it'll unleash an energy pulse that'll destroy all the Earths in the multiverse except for Earth-1. We raced and as we got closer to the end, I created a time remnant who sacrificed himself to save the multiverse. Zoom got angry that he was loosing so we fought again, this time I had the upper hand and pinned Zoom to the ground. I was gonna kill him right then and there but my mom and dad wouldn't want that for me. They wouldn't want me to go down this dark path. So I let the consequences go to him," Barry vaguely says at the end.
Steve raises an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" He asks.
"A time stream portal opened up and a couple of Time Wraiths- they're creatures that come to kill the speedsters that mess with time, they appear and snatch Zoom away. His body beginning to wither and desiccating as they carry him into a breach, never to be seen again. I've won but...I also lost," Barry pauses and looks down at his feet. "After all of that, I felt so broken then I ever did. So I ran," Barry finished.
The team all just sit there, silence taking over due to not knowing what to say. Barry's went through so much than any of the Avengers, how is he still himself?
Steve stays silent for a moment, then says, "Barry, I am so sorry for everything that happened to you. You don't deserve it. None of it, even after all of that, you are still standing or running in your case, (Barry half smiles at that), "You're very strong and brave for surviving through your hell, I'm sorry you had betrayals in your life. I know what it's like, it sucks. I think I can speak for everyone that we will always have your back no matter what. You're an Avenger and with that, it makes you apart of a family. Our family," Steve says which causes Barry to smile.
Sam raises his wine. "To Family." He says and everyone raised their drinks and move to clink Sam's drink.
Cling*
Suddenly, Barry just stands there, frozen as his mind goes somewhere else.
Barry saying the exact words about his story to Tony and Steve in the helicarrier.
Barry telling Steve about Zoom in the training room.
Barry smiling as he eats shawarma with Tony, Thor, Clint, Natasha, a guy he never met, and Steve.
The Avengers and Barry laughing in Tony's tower in the living room as Clint tries to pick up a hammer.
Barry smiles at Wanda in a broken down church after she says to him and Pietro "Go. Both of you."
"Barry?"
Barry returned the startled gaze to his friends, who were looking at him with concern.
"Are you alright?" Wanda inquired, her eyes bright with concern.
"Yeah," Barry touches his head. "Yeah I guess It's just that I'm tired,"
Then the waiter comes with the food and hands them to their respective owner.
"Enjoy," the waiter says before walking off and everyone begins to dig in besides Barry, who was wondering why is this happening ?
I love this one actually! This might be the one I love the most. I'm sorry if it was so long, but I wanted to get precise details about Barry's old life hence why the chapter is called "Barry Allen's old life" lmao. I hope I didn't do too much with Barry and Wanda (for now they are just friends. Really good friends.) I excluded Vision for obvious reasons but if you're confused; he's a robot. He has no stomach. Haha
Don't worry the whole thing with the italicized will make sense after a few more chapters. Please be patient with me I will explain everything I promise.
So i did Include something about the flash comics and that was the friend from College; Manuel. He met Barry when they were at this party, but after his father's death, Manuel shut out his own mother and friend. He then became joined the CIA in this secret project which gave him regenerative abilities. I could say more but I rather let you read the comic, it's actually really good.
Okay so the Mortal Kombat game; So I had Barry and Sam play Mortal Kombat X cause that game came out in 2015 which is a year prior before Civil War which is perfect, I made Barry chose Liu Kang cause he is like the main character in the MK saga and Barry is the main character in this story. Scorpion for Sam cause he is just a bad ass and Sam is also badass and cause he is my all time favorite MK fighter. I picked Applebees cause I couldn't think of anything else haha.
I forgot about this one; so if you didn't know I added an Easter egg about Wanda calling Jason Sudeikis "cute" the reason for that is because Elizabeth Olsen and Jason Sudeikis were lovers in a movie called: Kodachrome and I thought that would make a great joke.
Next chapter I will focus on Barry and Wanda a little more. Hoped you liked how the two are with each other when Barry was playing with Sam and when he was telling his story.
Also if you're wondering why i didnt talk about Flashpoint, well that's cause I'ma make him talk about it after I have Savitar come in.
Actually...
In the outskirts of New York, a couple of drunk goons are walking down an alleyway behind a Burger King, where they stop when a small stone runic box catches their sight in front of them.
"Woah, what's that dawg?" A drunk man asks and his buddy just shrugs and was about to trip on his foot.
The drunk man walks over to it and picks it up. "It looks like a box," the man says, chuckling to himself.
"Naw I thought it was a rock," his buddy sarcastically says before smacking him on the head.
"Oww," the man says slowly before his buddy quickly takes the box out of his hand. He grabs on to the sides and opens it, an intensifying glow shining over their eyes before he drops it to the ground.
They shield their eyes for a second, and unaware when they come out of it, a metallic huge man with glowing blue lights glowing on some his armor with a huge scary helmet with glowing blue lights stands behind the two men, staring at them evilly.
Screams from the alleyway*
Now I will be talking about Flashpoint in the 7th chapter I think. Maybe, I'm not sure but guess what, the god of speed is here! And you know what that means; the Avengers vs Savitar. And I already have some ideas for how Barry finds out Savitar is here you'll see.
I'll see you in the nextMuhahahahahahaha!
