And we're back! Sorry for not posting this soon, I just needed to work the kinks of this one cause I had so many problems and grammar mistakes, that I needed some time, to read a few books and gain some type of knowledge lmao
Don't worry I'm not quitting. I just took a little break but I'm back and ready to do this, hopefully I gain more than what I have-hope that doesn't sound rude.
Anyway, this is where the story starts to get a bit romantic, but I don't know how to write these kind of scenes, so I had a friend to help.
But first for our new review...
XenoLucifer: Lmao, I can understand why you said that, but truth be told, If I was to let Barry save him by catching the bullets, then Pietro would be alive. Unfortunately for this story to really reach its peak, I need Pietro to be out
So yes, I do understand that I nerfed him. But don't worry, I've been reading a bunch of Flash comics and some know facts about his speed and Wally's that I think I might know how to explain speedsters speed a little more.
Hope that solved your comment or somewhat haha
Enjoy!
Chapter 7- "It's not a date"
Avengers compound
Night (2 hours before Barry and Wanda's date)
"So I hear you and Allen have a date," a teasing feminine voice says from behind.
With two furrowed brows, Wanda who was sitting on a chair at the back of the counter, turns around only to be confronted by Natasha who was looking at her, arms crossed with a smirk.
Wanda rolls her eyes with an exasperated sigh. "It's not a date. Natasha. It's just us going out as friends," Wanda reassured her and Natasha lightly tilts her head, knowing that's not the case.
"You know I was a trained spy. And in my training, I learned how to tell when someone's lying," she pauses and leans in a little closer, eyeing Wanda. "You're a terrible liar, Wanda," she says truthfully before pulling back with a face that can be described as a 'I know the truth' with a tight grin.
Wanda stares at her. "Natasha. Barry and I are way to busy for relationships. With him being trapped on this earth, me having to watch Pietro constantly, Barry's training, and my training we don't have time for distractions."
"That's what everyone says when they don't want to admit it," Natasha says and Wanda rolls her eyes for the second time, really getting annoyed of Natasha's pestering. "Well if it's not a date, then I won't be hearing any of moans or monkey buisness coming from your room, right?"
Wanda scoffs lightly. "NAT!" She exclaimed with her mouth a little bit open.
"I'm just saying; Barry's hot. I don't see why you wouldn't want to jump his bones," Natasha conceded with a smirk.
"Oh my god," she muttered under her breath. "I have to get ready," Wanda says before getting up and beginning to walk out, trying to skedaddle from this conversation.
"Let me help," Natasha calls out. Wanda stops inches from the hallway entrance and turns around to look at her.
She speaks up and asks in surprise, "What?"
Natasha makes her way towards her. "Let me help you get ready for your non-date," Natasha offered.
Wanda pauses for a brief second, then shrugs her shoulders.
"Sure...I guess," She slowly says and Natasha nodded her head before grabbing her hand and dragging her to Wanda's room, not letting Wanda see that she's smiling a bit.
(30 mins before Barry and Wanda's 'not-date')
In Barry's room, Barry sighs as he roams through his closet, trying to find something good to wear for his 'not date' until his phone goes off. Barry walks over to it and in surprise to hear who's on the other line.
"Clint? Hey, what's up man? How's the-" Barry begins before getting cut off.
"Allen, do you remember what I said to you when we first met. Officially?" Clint vaguely and randomly says on the other side.
"Uh...Yeah you said, 'My family is the most important thing to me and I'll do whatever it takes to protect them,'" Barry replied, a bit hesitantly, feeling a little confused why he's asking him this.
"That includes protecting them from friends," he says immediately. "I heard you have a date with Wanda, is that correct?" Clint asks, sounding so threatening and Barry could tell. He sounded like Thawne whenever the team at S.T.A.R.Labs would mess up, which still terrifies him to the bone.
Barry makes a face then speaks up. "Wait how did-" but he gets cut off again by Clint.
"Her favorite flowers are dandelions. I want her home no longer than 10:30," Clint says in a deadpan tone. "Hear my words loud and clear, Flash; NO Sexual Intercourse! You understand me?" Clint demanded and Barry just looks stunned and surprisingly unnerved on the other side of the line.
Barry stays silent for a bit, trying to choose his words carefully. He finally speaks up and says, "Clint I'm not gonna-" he again gets cut off, this time Clint was a little closer to the phone.
"Cause If I hear a smidge from someone on the team saying you and Wanda had a little moment or if you even lay a finger on her, I'm going to shoot an arrow right through your eye socket," Clint says, sounding so intimidating which causes Barry to look around the room in a panic.
"Have fun on your date. I'll be watching," Clint says innocently with a smile and turning threatening at the end of it.
Clint then abruptly hangs up. Barry's a speedster, but even speedster has weaknesses. Oliver was able to subdue him for 10 minutes maybe more when Barry was faster than the speed of sound. And even he got some hits on him. So for Clint that shouldn't be a problem. If Oliver could do it, so could Clint. Which slightly terrifies Barry. With that in mind, Barry quickly picks the suit on his bed and runs out of the compound at super-speed, sending papers and Sam, who was eating on the couch and watching TV, taken back by the ferocious wind.
Knowing it's Barry Allen, Sam shouts, "DUDE?!" right after he left. "God I hate speedsters" he mutters under his breath.
"Hey, Sam what do you think of Wanda's outfit?" Natasha asks as they both walk in the room with a smiling Wanda.
He briefly glances at her before tracing back to the TV for a second but immediately looks at her again, this time astounded.
When he sees Wanda, he was just taken back by her outfit and her makeup. She looked so beautiful that even Sam is lost for words.
Rhodey, who later walks in the lounge, was staring down at his phone laughing before looking up and getting a good look at Wanda, which causes him to stop laughing and stares at her incredulously.
"Woah Rhodes you okay? You look like I had just told you 'that I sold your suit for scraps'," the other person said on the line jokingly.
Rhodey raises his phone and points it to a shy Wanda, who was smiling and blushing redder then Tony's suits and was Interlocking her hands but avoiding eye contact as Tony- who was on the phone, Sam, and Rhodey all look at her speechless.
Tony stays silent, admiring her esthetics. He finally manages to find his words and says, "Maximoff, you look-" but he was cut off when somebody from behind says sweetly, "Beautiful."
Sam, Rhodey, Tony, Natasha, and Wanda all look towards the source and see Steve slowly approaching Wanda.
Steve smiles. "You look beautiful, Wanda. Absolutely stunning,"
Wanda smiles at Steve sweetly and says, "Thank you, Steve." he then pulls her into a hug.
"Barry's gonna think so too," Sam calls out from behind and Wanda nods her head with a smile.
Outside
Wanda was outside standing in front of the facility, fiddling with her small purse and on the rocky road next to the big green field, before looking down at her watch, feeling anxious. She was wearing a white dress with her hair a bit straightened with gold highlights, and some red lipstick plastered on her, with the red jacket she wore back in the Sokovia battle on her, along with some bright red heels. She was feeling rather uncomfortable, Wanda thought the dress was sort of too much but Natasha said that it's fine and that Barry might not be any different.
She's been waiting for 5 minutes, looking at each side of the road, hoping the sound of winds can be heard, but then again, Barry said at 8:00 and it was 8:05.
Suddenly in 0.1 seconds, A breeze blew through her hair, and a wooshing sound that she's been waiting for appears with Barry standing in front of her, dressed in a white button shirt with a black tuxedo jacket over with some black pants and some black converse.
He look dressed like how he did on his first date with Iris back in Central City but instead of it all being gray, it was black. It's all Tony had, guess he just doesn't like grey.
Wanda looks startled as he was standing in front of her and unlike her reaction the many times Barry's done this, she giggles. "I hate you," she says jokingly.
Barry chuckles with her. "I know. I'm so sorry I'm late," he says, holding a yellow flower in his hand.
"It's alright. Tho, I thought I would be one who would get here late," Wanda admitted and Barry chuckles. She glances down and sees the flower, the dandelion, Barry was holding and says cheerily. "Aww dandelions. How'd you know?"
Barry shifts a little awkwardly, thinking of what Clint said or threatened. "Just a hunch I guess," he says simply. "I was on my way to make the reservation, when I saw a floral shop along the way, and decided to get you a flower. Thought you might like it."
"I do like It. Thank you," Wanda gratefully says as she gently takes the flower from his hands and twiddles with the stem of the flower. "So where were you planning on taking us?" She asks and Barry couldn't help but to chuckle.
"Well actually, Tony offered me his car, says 'he doesn't want me to ruin your hair or dress with my speed' so..." he trails off and holds out his hand.
Wanda smiles before taking it and he leads her to the entrance of the facility, where Tony's orange Audi R8 is parked.
"How expensive, even for my taste," Wanda commented and Barry softly laughs.
He starts to get in the car with Wanda walking on the other side to open her side of the car door. As they both get in, Barry couldn't help but to smile over her as he says, "You look amazing, by the way," a look of awe on his face as she blushed a crimson red- even darker than his Flash suit.
"You're not so bad yourself," Wanda said her accent a little puffier due to her nerves.
Barry grins before putting the key in the ignition, starting the engine, making a loud roaring noise that causes the whole facility to rumble. The sound begins to fade as Barry drives off into the night with Wanda in the passenger seat.
Restaurant
After a few roads, passing through a few interstates, being able to talk a little due to a lot of red lights, and going through a tunnel, they had finally reached the parking lot of the restaurant Barry made a reservation to. Unaware to Wanda, but deep down Barry was actually really nervous. He hasn't been on date for a while since Iris-but he shouldn't have to tho, it's not a date...right?
Barry comes to a stop and parks the car, turns it off and before he gets out, he looks at Wanda and says with a small grin, "You know, I'm actually really glad we're doing this," (Wanda looks at him confusingly with a tight smile), "Going out, even if it is just as friends." Barry admitted, his face falling down a little but unnoticeable to her.
Wanda stays silent for a brief second then says, "Barry, I've been thinking; I mean we both look great for a 'night as friends', we're flirting with each other, holding hands, heck I even put gold highlights in my hair,"
"You look amazing, like that" Barry comments with a bright smile as he looks at Wanda in awe.
Wanda smiles at that. Causing her to cheeks to get flushed, staring at Barry. "It's just...going out as friends...isn't really the term I would use for this night."
After finally getting it, Barry stares at her with a sort of confused smile. "Wait...are you saying what I think you're saying?" He asks.
Wanda presses her upper and lower lips together and raises both her eyebrows with a smile at him before she asks, "How would you feel about turning this 'non-date' into...a real date?"
Barry takes a second. Knowing Wanda is a whirlwind and she's probably his favorite person on this earth since he arrived, but her saying this kinda makes Barry more nervous-probably cause of what Clint had warned him about any intimate moments. That includes dates, which is the reason why Barry agreed to go out just as "friends". Then again, his original plan was to take her out on a date.
Why is he scared of Clint again?-oh right! Cause he will literally become the first human Swiss cheese with all the arrows impaling his body. But Life is all about risks, right?
Barry looks at her oddly. "Are you serious? You actually wanna turn it into date?" Barry asks, making sure she's not just saying that.
Wanda eyes widen a bit, feeling she stepped a little overboard. "I mean if you don't want to, you don't have to. We could just-" but she never finished due to Barry.
"No," he started to smile. "No. I would actually like to do that," Barry finishes and Wanda nods her head with a grin, glad he said that or that would have been awkward.
"Well if this is now a date-" Barry trails off, opens the car door to his side and gets out. He then walks over to Wanda's side and opens her car door. "Ladies first." He says as he holds the door open for her and Wanda smiles as he takes his hand and walks in the restaurant...together.
(30 mins later)
Barry and Wanda were sat at their table, where they had just order some drinks. Just a couple of minutes later, Wanda covered her mouth while she was dying laughing after hearing a story about Barry. He had told her that when he was 16, he always have to switch rooms with Iris-his girlfriend, just so she can sneak out to go with her friends after curfew.
Barry would sometimes chuckle while he talks and that somehow made Wanda smile and zone out as she looks Into his stormy hazel eyes with so much appreciation, thanking herself for meeting this amazing guy. Luckily, Barry didn't catch on and instead asks Wanda about herself.
"What about you?" Barry asks and Wanda tilts her head, confused. "I mean I talk about me a lot, but I never heard a lot from you-besides you liking sit coms that put me to sleep," Barry joked, smiling at the end.
She giggles after that comment Barry made, then asks, "Well, what do you want to know?"
"Like what's your favorite color?" Barry says simply. Wanda was gonna respond but Barry cuts her off. "Wait, don't tell me. Red?" He asks and Wanda shakes her head as she scrunched her nose. "What? then what is it?"
"It is actually Blue. The red was just an add on along with my suit and powers," she honestly says.
"Alright, maybe not a great question to ask," Barry says to himself and earning another giggle from Wanda. He pauses for a moment, choosing his words wisely so he doesn't upset her. "Tell me...about your parents, your life in Sokovia, how you were before I arrived," Barry asks, hesitantly and Wanda looks deeply in his eyes.
Wanda stays silent then says, "Well for starters; I've never gone on dates. Hence is why I'm really nervous about being here," Barry softly chuckles, feeling the same way. "Back in Sokovia, Pietro and I never had to worry about boyfriends or girlfriends, since all we focused on was on how to survive the next day. After our parents died, we had to live under bridges, rundown houses or even in the forest. And in those days, there many close deaths. Starvation, almost getting mauled by a bear, and shelter. Our life was pretty bad that I actually wanted to end it. And so did Pietro," Wanda explains with a bit of tears streaming down her perfect white skin. Barry couldn't help but to grab her cold hands and hold them tightly as she sniffled before going on.
"But our parents wouldn't want this. They wouldn't want us to give up easily, they would want us to fight and stay strong. So we did. But it didn't take cause soon enough, we volunteered to join Hydra, where there we got our powers. After the Avengers found us, Pietro and I were back on the streets again, only this time, we were able to protect ourselves," Wanda says while musing at the thought of Pietro in his death bed.
Barry looks at her sorely, just feeling bad for her since she had to go through all that hell. Barry firmly tightened the grip around her hands, causing her to smile while she looks up at Barry.
Unaware to Barry and Wanda, about two buildings away, A figure that's swallowed in darkness was perched on a rooftop that's overlooking the restaurant with a bow pulled and trained to aim directly for Barry's head. Along side of him was Natasha, who has her hands on her hips.
"Clint, what are you doing?" Natasha asks.
Clint stays silent for a bit, glaring really hard at Barry with a clenched jaw. "Just making sure Barry's dick stays where it belongs," Clint replies, with a hint of overprotective in his tone.
"Jesus christ you're actually a dramatic son of a bitch," she mutters to herself before speaking out loud, letting Clint hear her. "Clint, there is no point in doing that since Barry is not gonna sleep with Wanda ," She says, feeling so sure that Barry will keep his genital area where it belongs.
"He's a guy, Nat. We guys have hormones that are crazy when we see pretty girls. Especially since Barry's a speedster. Maybe those hormones are sped up and Barry is always horny or somethin," Clint says as he keeps the bow aimed at Barry who was laughing with Wanda through the glass window, ready to be penetrated by Clint's arrow.
Natasha makes a weird face then says, "Okay first, that did not make a lick of sense. Second, He's just a kid. He's not some prostitute who goes around fucking some girls. He's not some...Scarlet King from earth-69" Natasha noted.
Clint chuckles. "69," he mutters to himself and Natasha rolls her eyes.
"God you're such a child. And here I thought Barry was the kid. Guess I was wrong," Natasha says firmly, pissing off Clint.
"At least I can keep my hormones in check. Barry can't," he says defensively as he glares at the window, ready to let go of the string. "Look at him, all smiling and shit, being gleeful. Gah it makes me sick. He's probably waiting for Wanda to make the first move so he can get in her panties," Clint says to himself as he glares with these dead eyes at Barry, who was just being his normal self. Laughing, being honest and full of glee.
Clint's not wrong. Barry could definitely make her his, but that's not what he's trying to do. He just wants to get to know her, all the times they were together for the two months, Barry never really got to know that much about her. So this was a perfect time to do so. But Clint is making it really hard with his dad attitude. Thankfully, Barry has no idea that Clint was actually watching.
"That is not what's happening. Barry is just trying to be friendly and try to know about her," Natasha states as she looks at what Clint was glaring at.
"No that's what he wants you to think, but just wait. As soon as she's vulnerable, Barry will make his move," Clint says, sounding so sure he knows what Barry's intentions are.
"Or," Natasha begins before walking up to him, putting her arm around Clint as she sits besides him while he is still perched. "Maybe he's just what he says he is...a nice guy," Natasha says calmly and Clint sighs as he lowers his bow.
"Nat-," Clint says slowly as he sits down next to Nat, but never got to finish cause she cuts him off.
"Look, I know you want to be right about Barry just trying to use her for his own extensions, and I know you see Wanda as a daughter, you as a father and just wants to protect her, but...she's her own person. She's 25. Wanda can handle anything that comes her way. Cause she's a strong girl. Besides, I'm pretty sure Wanda would make Barry her bitch if they ever fight," Natasha says firmly at the beginning, before sounding confident as she she finished.
Clint raises his brows. "Meh," he lowers them and stares down at the ground level of the building they're on. "Barry has speed and is able to do that thing where he shakes his hand so fast, that it can go through peoples chests," he looks at Natasha. "I forgot what it's called. It started with a V, i think," He says.
Natasha softly grin as she looks at Clint. "You mean Vibrating?" She asks and Clint chuckles again, hearing it out loud sounded so vulgar.
"Yeah, that's what the little red rocket called it," Clint joked and on cue, his phone begins to buzz. Looking at the call id, it read; Laura with a red heart emoji next to her name. He picks it up and raises the phone to his ear.
"Babe?...how did you...I know but...No, I like the kid...I'm just trying to...She's might get hurt...fine. I'll bring Nat too," Clint grumbles as he hangs up and glares at Natasha. "So we can add 'snitch' to your set of skills,"
Natasha smiled smugly before disappearing into the shadows and Clint shot one more look at the restaurant. Wanda was laughing at something Barry said and his gaze softened.
"Take good care of her kid." Clint mutters under his breath before also disappearing into the darkness.
Barry and Wanda kept on talking, hearing stories about one another, when finally the waiter arrives with their food.
New York
Night
After dinner which lasted about an hour since Barry and Wanda were too busy talking about their interests, hobbies, and lives. Later on, Barry decided to take Wanda on a late night stroll through the heart of New York. Central Park. There, Barry was smiling at Wanda as they walk hand in hand through the stone pathway which leads to a monument that looks like a miniature scale of the Washington monument.
"Wow!" Barry says out loud when he actually meant to say it to himself.
"It's not like the one in D.C. but it will do," Wanda jokes and Barry chuckles with Wanda who giggled .
They continue down the stone pathway, walking past a few couples, dogs, and little structures around the park along the way. Since the walk was long and really tiring, Wanda wanted to stop walking for a bit and Barry kinda wanted to as well, so they made a pit stop at a small dock, which is overlooking the crystal water.
Barry leans on the wooden fence that is on the dock with Wanda who is also leaning on the railing next to him but with her head on his shoulder, looking up at the beautiful nightlight in the sky that is looming over them. Silence took over the two due to the mesmerizing night sky that's shining in the park.
Until, Wanda decides to break the quietness, and says softly. "This is a nice view, you know,"
Barry looks down at her and smiles broadly when he says, "Yeah, It is...but I got a better one. Wanna see?" He then holds out his hand, waiting for her to take it. She slightly tilts her head, feeling so confused. But she obliged and does what he said. Once she does grab his hand, Barry smiles before running at Mach 3, his yellow lightning contrail following him as he runs at high speeds throughout New York and finally stopping on top of the Brooklyn Bridge, where it's over looking the entire City from a vantage point.
Wanda looks around her and was stunned and in awe of what she saw. She found herself looking out into New York City. She couldn't help but to open her mouth with wide eyes, since she never saw New York like this. It was so ravishing.
"Tony told me about this one time, that he took his girlfriend, Pepper to see the nightlife of Central Park from Stark Tower when they were on a date," Barry says to her. "And I thought maybe...I could do the same but with more pizzazz and so I ran around New York for a while trying to find a great place with a great view. Soon I found the Brooklyn Bridge. Which is kinda why...I was 5 minutes late," Barry pauses as he looks out into New York City then turns to Wanda who giggled at the last part. "I hope you like this,"
"Barry are you kidding? "I love it." Wanda said softly, gazing at Barry's hazel eyes full of excitement and delight as he met hers.
"I'm glad you like it." Barry said with a relieved smile. "But that's not all," he says cryptically. He then reaches into his coat pocket and pulls out a small black box that resembles like a wedding ring box.
"What's this?" She asked with a concerned smile. She gently opens the box and was lost for words when she sees inside, a gold shiny necklace with a dandelion flower as the main design of the pendant. "Oh my god...Barry," Wanda said looking over at him who was smiling widely.
"Even though, you have already have a dandelion, I wanted to get you something more special," Barry says tenderly. "I found that necklace at a store called; Scarlet Jewelry, where they had the design of your favorite flower on a glass rack next to this historic vase, It was a dandelion,"
Wanda looks at Barry for the longest she's ever done. "I don't know what to say-Thank you. It's so beautiful," she said sweetly before closing the box and throwing her arms around Barry's neck for a hug. He wraps his around her waist and they just sit there, smiling happily in each other's shoulder.
After a few seconds- that felt like hours, Wanda pulls away slowly. She looks up at Barry as their eyes met, she looked at his lips and then at his eyes. Barry smiled. Wanda leaned in closer, their breaths were now intermingling with each other. Barry leans in too, smiling more as he gets closer and closer.
