It was as if time had just stopped, no one moved, no one spoke. All eyes were just staring at those scarlet lights, "No… that's not Lexie, you're lying…" Scotty muttered quietly, "On the contrary, I don't lie." Zosia forcefully shoved the Scotsman off, causing him to roll across the floor, eventually coming to a halt at Kirk's feet. The young Captain knelt down quickly, "Scotty, you alright?" He asked while placing a hand on the man shoulder. "No…" Scotty's voice was almost a growl, slowly he lifted his head up off the floor. "I'm pissed off." Kirk knew what his friend was about to do, so quickly grabbed him tightly by his arms before the man could jump to his feet. "Don't, Scotty. Just stay here." "Jim, that's my daughter she's talking about!" Kirk sighed quietly, "I know it is, but getting violent isn't going to help her." Scotty wanted to argue, but the look Kirk was giving him made him reconsider. He was right, getting worked up and lashing out wasn't how they were going to save Lexie. Zosia had gotten to her feet, that smug smile still on her face. "It seems you gave in after all, pathetic child." Scotty's blood only boiled more, how dare she call Lexie that! Zosia raised her arm and gestured with a finger for the figure to walk over, "Come, allow for our guests to meet you. The new you that is."
Everyone's eyes were locked on the scarlet lights which were growing closer to them. But when the figure stepped into the light, everyone just stared in disbelief. "No… it can't be…" But it was… The person was Lexie, who looked different. Not only down to the horrific outfit that made her look like an evil scientist, but her eyes were glowing reddish orange, almost resembling tiny fires. It was strange not seeing her with two different coloured eyes. "Lexie?" Scotty stuttered, "In a way, yes. This is Lexie, but she's been improved." There Zosia went again, being so dam smug and arrogant. "What have you done to her?!" Yelled Grace, "You… No, that's impossible!" Blythe cried. "Oh, but it is. I am the first Scientist to accomplish the impossible." Zosia laughed, while Kirk just looked at McCoy in confusion. "Ya mind explaining that in English?!" McCoy asked, he didn't like people speaking in a way that he couldn't understand. "But of course, I have gained control of your friends mind. She now obeys me, and me alone." Kirk couldn't believe it! This was Roman all over again, only this time it was much worse. "No, that can't be Lexie… It just can't be." But the more the guys looked at her, the clearer it became. The woman standing in front of them was Lexie, no question.
Scotty was trying his best not to break down completely, but he was losing the battle. "Why? Why Lexie? She has never done anything to anyone!" Zosia chuckled, "It's not because of her behaviour that I chose her, the girl was the perfect candidate for my experiments. Her Heterochromia Iridum is what I needed." Kirk bolted his head up from looking at Scotty, to stare at Zosia. "You only have yourself to blame for this, Captain." Kirk's eyes quickly widened, "What?" "You should have excepted my offer, that way I wouldn't have had to take her by force." McCoy looked at Kirk who looked completely white. "Jim, don't listen to her! None of this is because of you!" But it seemed his Captain wasn't so convinced, "I…" Kirk then felt a hand touch his arm, he glanced down to see Scotty gently holding his arm. "Don't blame yaself, Jim. This isn't your fault." Kirk knew his friends were right, so he just nodded. "For years I tried to accomplish the impossible…" Zosia stated as she began to walk around Lexie, as if to admire her handy work. "But all those attempts ended in failure, I tested on many humans but none of them were my break through." McCoy didn't like how she worded that, it seemed as if she was hiding something.
"And… what happened to those who didn't give you your break through?" To McCoy's surprise, it was Chekov who had asked that. The accent was a dead giveaway. "The answer to that question is simple my young friend, they died." Why did Zosia sound so pleased about that?! She was talking about human lives as if they were… were just a tool. Scotty felt his heart get tugged by fear, everyone else had died? "She could have killed her… Zosia's experiment could have killed Lexie." That's all Scotty could think about. "Now that you've all have gotten acquainted, it's time to put you back in your cage." Zosia turned her gaze on Salix who quickly whistled over her metallic pet, Mistral slowly stepped towards Kirk and the others growling. The crew step away, before they were back on the spot where their prison laid. Zosia's already huge, smug smile only grew. "That's it, behave like the lab rats you are." Kirk was really getting sick of this woman, they were no lab rats! But it seemed Delta wasn't going to simply obey. Before the walls to their prison could form, the little robot darted out. Rolling across the floor, before getting to his feet. "Delta!" Screamed Kirk, his voice muffled by the force field. "Give her back…" Delta muttered, but he didn't get a response, so he just repeated himself. But this time around, he screamed. "Give her back! You fucking bitch!"
Kirk just stared blankly at his robotic crew mate, never had he heard Delta sound so angry. Well there had been one other time, but the young Captain tried not to think about it. Zosia also was just staring blankly at the robot, along with the rest of her minions. That was until she began to laugh, clearly she wasn't threatened by Delta at all. "You are quite the adorable tin can, aren't you?" That did it. Delta suddenly lunged for Zosia, clinging to her face while using his tiny robotic hands to punch her. "Not so adorable now, am I you bitch! Give Lexie back!" The robots actions seemed to surprise literally everyone, since everyone was just watching this all unfold. Zosia took several steps back after dropping her blades to try and get Delta off her face, her swearing was muffled because of her attacker, but it was clear she wasn't happy. "Laddie! Stop!" Scotty cried, hoping Delta would hear but he didn't. Finally, Zosia managed to grab hold of Delta's wings and threw him across the room, causing him to slam into one of the many consoles which were scattered around. Once again Kirk cried out Delta's name, this time however he wasn't the only one who did it. Almost all of them did. Zosia glared at Delta as he tried to pick himself up off the floor, "How dare you!" Once again the blue rings on her gloves glowed faintly, allowing for her blades to come to her like obedient dogs.
Delta looked up just as Zosia leant over him, "You AI's are meant to obey us humans! Not disrespect us!" Scotty's blood was boiling at how their captor spoke to his friend, while his heart was in his stomach as he watched Zosia raise one of her blades above her head. "She's going to kill him…" No, he wouldn't let that happen! He needed to stop her! But, how would he do that when he was trapped in an electric cube? Wait, that's it! Kirk was too busy staring at Delta to see what Scotty was about to do. The Scotsman simply ran at the force field, somehow managing to pass through it but he didn't do it without injury. Scotty fell flat on his nose, his clothes steaming. "Scotty!" McCoy cried, but Scotty didn't reply, instead he picked himself up off the floor and sprinted at Zosia. "Please… Don't kill me…" Delta muttered as his terrified green eyes stared into hers. "Oh dear, you cannot kill that which isn't alive. You're only a bunch of numbers, so this will be painless." With that, Zosia brought down her blade. But it didn't connect with Delta, instead it simply stabbed into the ground.
"What?!" Just before Zosia was able to harm Delta, Scotty had grabbed him before sliding across the floor. Only coming to a stop once his back slammed into a crate. "That fucking hurt!" The man's back stung like hell, but he was more concerned about the tiny robot he held tightly in hand. "Delta, are you alright?" Scotty looked down while loosening his hold, allowing for Delta to look up at him. "I'm OK, thank you." That was music to the Scotsman's ears. "Anytime, laddie. Just don't scare me like that again, alright?" Delta just nodded, while Scotty got to his unsteady feet. "Try to kill him again and you will regret it, you understand me?" But Zosia just laughed, "You must not have heard me, you cannot kill that which isn't alive. Your brattish tin can is just a bunch of numbers." Scotty narrowed his eyes, clearly Zosia hadn't taken his warning seriously. "He's more human than you!" "Oh please, he's just a glorified toy." Now that touched a nerve, so Scotty lived up to his word, he placed Delta down on the ground before charging towards the woman. But he was violently smacked away by something, sending him flying across the room to smash into the computer screen. "Scotty!" Screamed McCoy.
When Scotty managed to force his eyes open, the first thing he saw almost caused his heart to shatter. Standing in front of Zosia, was Lexie. In her hand she held a futuristic scythe, its blade glowed with an extremely dim blue light. Lexie didn't speak, but her flaming eyes told Scotty enough. "Lassie…" Before he didn't want to believe that his daughter was truly being controlled like a mindless slave, but the fact she just defended her captor was putting cracks in his illusion. "Well now, it seems you know who your mistress is, child." Zosia placed a hand on Lexie's shoulder, clearly impressed at what she had just done. The others however, couldn't believe it. "She… she just attacked Mr Scott?" Chekov muttered in disbelief. Kirk couldn't believe it either, he had hoped that his young Lt had been playing along. He believed she would just snap out of it, but it was clear to see that what Zosia had told them was true… She was controlling Lexie. "This is horrible! Scotty's being thrown around by his own daughter. This isn't right!" McCoy thought as he watched his friend trying to pick himself up off the floor. He looked hurt, badly! "Scotty! You alright?!" Kirk yelled, but his voice was still muffled by the force field.
Scotty managed to get himself to his knees, but that was it. He didn't have the strength to stand up. He could feel something trickling down his back, Scotty knew what it was but he was grateful that he couldn't see it. Once again Kirk yelled his name, only this time his Chief answered. "I'm… I'm alright, Jim." Well that was a lie. "But believe me, you won't be in a second." Scotty turned his head to see Mistral glaring at him, while Salix was stood beside her pet. But it wasn't just them. Matrix and Nina were also staring at the Scotsman, weapons tightly in hand. "I don't stand a chance against all of them…" Scotty said to himself, he wanted to get to his feet but he knew better than to try, since he could guarantee he would just fall on his nose. "Leave him alone!" Roared Blythe, but she didn't get a response, instead Zosia's minions began to move closer to the unarmed CEO. "Wait!" A voice yelled. Everyone just froze. "But, Mistress. He tried to attack you. He doesn't deserve to live." Salix called, not taking her eyes off Scotty. "You are correct, Salix. But I have a better idea, stand down. All of you." But none of them moved, it took for Zosia to order them again for them to truly obey her order. Zosia followed her minions with her eyes, to make sure that they actually obeyed. Not like they would really argue with her. Then Zosia moved her gaze to Scotty, who was still kneeling.
"What's wrong? Want to kill me yourself?" Scotty asked, but Zosia just laughed. "I would love to, but what's the point of having a mindless slave if you are not going to use them." It took Scotty a few seconds to comprehend what the woman had said. He wanted to reply, but no words came out of his opened mouth. "What?" McCoy asked, clearly not understanding what Zosia had said. But by the look on Kirks face, he did. Completely. "No… That's not fair…" The Captain muttered. "What's not fair, Jim?" Asked McCoy. Kirk was about to answer, when Zosia patted Lexie on the shoulder again. "Have fun, child." She whispered. Lexie nodded her head before tightening her hold of her weapon, her eyes fixed on Scotty. "My god! You mean…" McCoy raised a hand up and placed it over his mouth. "Yes, Bones." Kirk couldn't take his eyes off his young Engineer as she slowly stepped towards her superior officer. Lexie's flaming eyes stared intensely into Scotty's. "Lassie… Please… You don't have to do this…" Scotty begged quietly, but Lexie wasn't going to listen. Instead she used the back of the scythes blade to hit the Scotsman across the room. This couldn't be happening… Scotty was really getting attacked by the girl he called daughter.
