Once again Scotty tried to pick himself up off the floor, but he didn't even get the chance since he was hit again by Lexie's scythe. "Stop it! Lexie, please!" Delta screamed. This was too painful for the little AI to watch. Even though he knew that his creator wasn't doing this by her own free will, it was still a horrific scene. Delta watched as Lexie continually smacked Scotty around the large room, the Scotsman occasionally hitting the odd console or computer. Evrim was softly crying into Blythe's shoulder, she didn't want to watch any of this. "What have we done…" She muttered quietly. It wasn't as if her partner was confused by her words, because she wasn't. Blythe knew what Evrim was talking about. "We once helped this monster. To perfect her experiments. We were tools which aided in this…" Blythe muttered to herself while she comforted Evrim, with the odd kiss to the head. Kirk had noticed this happening between their two new friends, but he didn't take his eyes off his old ones. Scotty was taking a beating! His eyes moved to Zosia, who was enjoying this way too much, along with her minions. "Stop this! How sick can you be?! Making Scotty's own daughter hurt him!" But Kirk didn't get an answer. Zosia was having too much fun watching this.
Chekov was crying, screaming for Lexie to snap out of it. His words were almost pure Russian as his accent was so thick at this moment in time. McCoy was trying to comfort the young Navigator, even if he couldn't really understand what the man was saying. McCoy knew he needed someone to be there, while the CMO himself was holding back tears. This was so painful for him to watch! He was watching the two people he cared for most fight. "Mother! End this! This isn't right!" Grace shouted, hoping to get her monstrous mother to listen. But like Kirk, she didn't get a reply. Suddenly Scotty was smashed against the wall once more. He screamed out in agony. That was it, Kirk couldn't take any more. He had to stop this! Right now! Before Lexie ended up doing something she couldn't take back. He was their Captain after all. So he did what Scotty had done earlier when he went to save Delta. He ran at the force field, McCoy screaming: "Jim! Wait, don't!" But Kirk didn't listen to his friend, instead he charged through the field. Just like what happened to Scotty, Kirk fell flat on his nose. But he managed to get to his feet much quicker. Sure his body hurt like hell, but that had never stopped Kirk from doing something like this before. He ran towards Scotty, while Lexie slowly stepped towards him. Her scythe tightly in hand. "Please, lassie…" But Lexie didn't listen, instead she simply began to raise her weapon above her head. Scotty shut his eyes, he didn't wish to see this. His death. But suddenly, someone stepped between them. "Lexie! Stop!"
Upon hearing someone yelling, Scotty opened his eyes again. And what he saw made him want to smile, but due to the level of pain he was in, he couldn't. "J…Jim." The Scotsman muttered. Kirk's eyes were locked with Lexie's, they seemed to be flaming with rage. "Lexie… please… this isn't you…" The Captain's voice was broken by the odd sob, he couldn't help it. His heart was breaking. Lexie stopped dead, but she didn't speak. Instead, Zosia did it for her. Well, sort of. "She doesn't take orders from you anymore, Captain. Only me." That statement angered Kirk, so much. "Just because I'm her Captain, doesn't mean I order her around all the time! Lexie can make her own decisions!" Never had Kirk ordered Lexie to do anything, not unless it was really necessary. She had proven that despite being still a young adult, that she could decide what's best for her. "Well then, I guess the brat has lost that. Lexie! Show the great James what you are capable of." Kirk watched as Lexie nodded her head slowly, before tightening her grip of her scythe. Almost to a death grip, her knuckles had turned white. But Kirk didn't move. He just stayed there in front of Scotty, his arms by his side. "Jim… run…" Scotty whimpered, however his Captain didn't listen. "I know you won't hurt me, Lexie. You have too good of a heart to do that." Kirk sounded so convinced. Mainly since he was trying to convince himself that his youngest officer wouldn't attack him.
"I hate to rain on your parade, Captain. But the Lexie you are talking to isn't the one you know, she has no free will. Therefore, she'll attack anything and anyone I tell her to." Zosia seemed to have thought of everything! But still Kirk did not move, even when Lexie began to walk towards him. "Lexie, please remember who I am. Who we all are. We're your family! You wouldn't hurt us!" For a second, a split second. Lexie seemed to stop, but why? Was Kirk getting through to her? So Kirk continued to talk to her, to try and reach her. "Remember all the good times we have spent together. You're part of our family, Lex…" Once again, for a split second Lexie stopped walking. But still she got closer to Kirk, who still didn't move. "I won't fight you, Lexie. I can't fight you… You're my sister…" That one word stopped Lexie cold. Never before had Kirk told the Lt. to her face how he saw her, but now he had in the direr of circumstances. With her free hand, Lexie raised it up to her head. "Is she in pain? Am I getting through to her?" Kirk was so confused at this point. "Don't just stand there, you brat! Kill him!" Zosia's order was so loud it seemed to echo around the room. Slowly Lexie lowered her hand and began to head towards Kirk once again.
Watching all of this had soon become too much for Delta, he couldn't take it anymore. He went to fly towards Lexie, but a pair of hands grabbed him. "Let me go!" He screamed while he struggled about. But the person didn't, if anything they tighten their grip of the small robot. "You aren't getting involved, now stay quiet! Otherwise I'll use you as Mistral's toothbrush!" So, it was Salix who was forcefully holding Delta back, who had now stopped struggling out of fear. He didn't wish to die. But he also didn't wish to see Lexie hurt her own family, it wasn't right! Lexie was now standing right in front of Kirk, who still didn't move. "You wouldn't do this, Lexie… You're to…" Kirk's sentence was cut short when a punch connected with his stomach, causing him to drop to his knees. "Jim!" McCoy cried, he hated this.
Having to watch as his two best friends were being beaten up by the girl they all saw as part of their family. "That's the way, child. Now, kill him!" Kirk whipped his head up, to see Lexie raising her weapon high. "She's really going to kill me…" He couldn't believe it, after all the monsters he had faced. He had stood face to face with Romulans from a different time. He had fought with a superhuman. Hell! The young Captain had even died once. But Kirk couldn't believe that he was going to get killed by the woman he called a sister. "Any last words, Captain?" Zosia asked, almost laughing those words. Kirk looked into Lexie's eyes, trying to remember them how they once were. Their unique colours which sparkled in the light. "I'm… I'm sorry… that I wasn't a better friend…" Now that made Zosia laugh even more. "Such a fool." Then she clicked her fingers, which was a signal for Lexie to bring her weapon down. Kirk couldn't help but close his eyes, he didn't want to see his death coming. But, it never came. All he could hear was a faint humming.
Confused as to why he wasn't dead, Kirk opened his eyes. Only to be greeted by a scythe which was only sat inches from his face, but why hadn't it hit him? That's when Kirk focused on the humming, he looked around to discover it was Scotty who was humming some sort of melody, while tears dripped slowly from his sad brown eyes. One he didn't know. Maybe it was Scottish? Whatever it was, it seemed to be having an effect on Lexie as she was back to holding her head. Was she in pain? Zosia growled as she called back her blades once more, clearly she wasn't impressed by this. "Don't let a stupid melody stop you! Kill him! You obey me!" Lexie shook her head, for a moment Kirk believed he saw her real eyes. But it could have been a trick of the light. "Scotty, whatever you're doing… Keep-" Suddenly, an electric pulse ran through Kirk's body. He turned to see Lexie's scythe touching his chest, it was electrocuting him! "Jim!" McCoy cried. "Stop! Leave him alone!" Roared Chekov, but of course. Lexie didn't. But suddenly, the scythe was removed from Kirk's chest. He fell to the side with a loud thud, before turning his attention on Lexie, to see what had happened. But Kirk didn't really believe what he was seeing. "Delta?!" Their little robotic companion had managed to break free of Salix' grip, allowing for him to distract Lexie stopping her attack on the Captain.
He clung to her face, blocking her field of view. His tiny hands tightly grabbing her cheeks, causing Lexie to call out in pain. "I'm sorry, Lex… But I can't let you hurt Jim." Delta felt awful for hurting his creator, but it was necessary. Lexie dropped her weapon on the ground, with a loud 'clang' which echoed around the room. Which then in turn allowed for her to focus on getting Delta off her face. It didn't take the young Lt. long to get a good grip of Delta's wings, allowing for her to throw him across the room. The little robot slammed into the wall, screaming in pain. "Delta!" Kirk scrambled to his unsteady feet and quickly crossed the distance which separated him from his friend. Gently he scooped Delta up in his arms, Kirk could see that he was damaged. Badly! His wings were crumpled beyond recognition, one of his arms was holding on by just a couple of wires, while his chest compartment was completely gone. Exposing all of his internal systems, including his core. "Delta, can you hear me?" Kirk asked as he watched the little guys eyes flicker. "Ji…Jim?" Kirk forced a small smile on his face, "It's me, bud. You'll be alright." Well, Kirk wasn't too sure when he saw Lexie walking towards them. She retrieved her weapon from the floor, by simply kicking it up into her hand. Kirk could feel Delta's body shaking, he was scared. Of his own creator. Just then, someone stepped in front of them. It was Scotty, who had stopped humming.
Kirk listened as Scotty spoke, but he couldn't understand him. It wasn't English he was speaking, but some other language. One he guessed Lexie knew. "Ga…Gaelic…" Muttered Delta quietly, Kirk looked down at the robot he held in his arms. "What?" So Delta explained, well tried to anyway. "Scotty's… spe…speaking in… Gaelic…" Of course! How didn't Kirk realise sooner. Scotty often spoke in the language of his home land, but most of the time it was when he was swearing. "Lassie, it's me. Do you remember who I am?" Once again, Kirk could have sworn he saw Lexie's blazing eyes flicker back to their normal colours. "Is it the light? Or… Is Scotty really getting through to her?" Kirk was hoping it was the second one, if anyone could talk to Lexie past Zosia's mind control. It's Scotty. Lexie stared intensely at Scotty, before finally speaking. For the first time since the guys had found her. "D…Dad..." Scotty couldn't help but smile slightly, she remembered him! "Aye, lass. Now remember who you are." Suddenly, Lexie grabbed her head, shaking it violently. "Foolish brat! I ordered you to kill them! So obey me!" Zosia cried angrily, she didn't seem to like the fact that her control over Lexie was seemingly fading. Much to Scotty's dismay, Lexie obeyed.
She began to swing her scythe violently, trying to hit Scotty. But thankfully the Scotsman was able to dodge, most of them anyway. His shirt was almost in shreds, not to mention his skin was covered in cuts. "Scotty! You need to fight back!" Blythe cried, but Scotty shook his head. "No! I won't fight her! I'll hurt the lass!" Kirk knew there was no way in hell that Scotty would ever fight Lexie, he cared about her too much. "But she'll kill you!" Evrim yelled, but still Scotty refused to harm his daughter. Suddenly, Lexie slammed Scotty up against the wall. The blade of her scythe pressed hard against the man's throat. "Lassie… please come back to me… I need you… I love you… My sweet little girl… My daughter…" Scotty managed to lean forwards to place a kiss on Lexie's forehead. Almost instantly, Lexie's eyes widened. She didn't move. She didn't speak. It was as if time just stopped, which Kirk didn't know if that was a good or bad thing. "Remember… for the love of God, remember…"
