Chapter II – Purpose
Illiuar Ruins
These ruins… no, this shrine. It feels… kind of familiar to me. Don't know why or how. It just feels that way… somehow, I faintly recognise this place. My head is slightly pounding from information overload, since its like I'm in two places at once. It confuses and brings discomfort at the same time, knowing of this brand-new discovery. The voice of an infant echoed through my deep subconscious, putting me off slightly on edge. Turning back around, noticing there was nothing behind me, so I continued walking through this abandoned shrine overtaken by mother nature. My partner seemed to notice my distress and decided to voice his concerns.
"Are you alright master? You've been out of it for some time" Riolu asked with a worried expression on his face.
"Don't worry about me, I'm fine" It was a simple response, but it should suffice. I have trouble socialising with others, even if it's an everyday occurrence. Mostly am on my own anyways, so this is a change. A pretty big one that is. My partner, however, did not believe me even for a second. He narrowed his eyes on me, which made me slightly flinch at that look, before sighing.
"I know you're not, there was a shift in your aura. Now, please tell me; what's wrong?" Riolu asked again with a concerned expression before I took a deep breath to prepare myself.
"Heard the voice of an infant in the depths of my mind" I explained, with the pokemon gaining a slightly incredulous expression before calming itself down.
"I see, maybe it was something you were trying to remember?" Riolu theorised.
"Who knows? I… can't really tell myself. My head hurts from time to time whenever I try" Was my response to the theory, before everything was silent again, wandering further into the strange place.
Inside The Shrine
The place was mostly hollow, except for an altar that stood slightly elevated. It was made out of worn-out gold, with strange symbols and images that were barely visible while candles surrounded it like a protective circle. However, they were not lit. Strange red gates stood tall, protecting it like they were guards of a royal court. Although, their colour has diminished over what I could guess a decade or so. As we were exploring, noticing that the walls and ceiling depicted some sort of pokemon from unknown origin. What was discovered however, a shock even for us. A giant statue stood at the back, obviously it has seen better days. Looking like some sort of horse, it had a giant symbol attached to its torso, a short tail, and a great mane on its head. Just by observing it in close detail, you might just barely and mistakenly confuse it with some sort of robot.
A small smile graced my lips, before my expression went back to its usual stoic one that shows no emotion. It was lucky that my partner pokemon did not notice. However, I look down, and saw an empty space that descends a few feet. It looks as if it used to be some sort of pool, though, of course, the water has dried out long ago. That seems to be pretty much what this shrine or temple has to offer. It brought me a lot of insight just how these mysterious creatures known as 'Pokemon' are. All of a sudden, an ear-piercing roar was heard as a giant dinosaur like creature charged through a door to my left, catching me off-guard as I was sent flying back into a wall.
"Master!" My partner shouted in panic as he looked back and forth between the rampaging pokemon and I, before running off to check up on me.
"Are you alright?" The blue humanoid like canine asked in concern as I grabbed my pounding head and slowly stood up.
"I'm fine, Riolu…" I trailed off as my eyes narrowed at it. A light grey skin patch on its front, the rest of it a darker shade, its body be looking like being covered in scales instead. Has a horn on top of its head, shaped like a drill pointing upwards, and a long lashing tail swinging from left to right aggressively. It charged forward at us, barely dodging out of the way. Enraged, it slammed its foot on the ground, causing a slight earthquake, before spikes came out of the ground, nearing towards us. Once more, we dodged out of the way by jumping into the air with a back flip.
"What is wrong with it?!" I asked in a panic, worried of the situation we're in now.
"It looks as if the Rhydon is not in control of itself, we must calm it down" The small pokemon observed its behaviour.
"Right, and how do we do this?" Was my response.
"When a pokemon is enraged like this, usually it is either injured somewhere, or it is being tested on" Riolu looked down sadly as it remembered from experience; when he was abandoned. During its journey to find a better trainer, it saw how some men in black outfits put some sort of object around the necks of wild pokemon. Luckily, he managed to escape the scene. He shook off that memory, and once he looked over to his new trainer's hand, he was surprised to see it clenched until it turned a pale white colour.
"Damn them all…" I hissed out as my wild side started to come out. Resist I tried, although the other side took over. From my lower body sprouted a silver glittering tail, with two blue spikes at the tip, as at the same time three blue-blackish plates on each side popped out on my back. Blue like triangular shields formed around my eyes, pointing to the back of me so they are out of the way. My skin turned from the normal human to scales that are whitish silver. And so, my transformation was complete. I had no idea that it happened to me because my human side was taken over.
"Damn them humans all to hell!" I growled out as my canines were slightly longer than usual.
"Master?" Riolu was slightly shaking at the killing intent that my being was giving out.
'I-Impossible… he… he's a…' The small pokemon gulped, although his thoughts were cut off.
"Rhydon! Stand down this instant!" My eyes all of a sudden began to glow purple, as the now panicking pokemon was lifted into the air, before it was thrown out of the shrine and into the outside, creating a small crater in the ruins as it went on its back. The Rhydon squirmed under my cold gaze as I came out of the place before it gave way to unconsciousness. I stared at it for a few seconds, however, just like the dinosaur like pokemon, my body gave way in extreme pain, before collapsing and my human side taking back its position once more.
'No way, now I'm all alone and have to take care of them both! Steel yourself Riolu, you'll be just fine!' The small blue canine like pokemon slapped itself on the cheeks as it went off to find some berries for his master and the wild Rhydon.
Within Mindscape
It was dark, cold, and unforgiving. Within my mind, was staring at a reflection of myself in the void of space. This me, however, was wilder and more refined, confident. Was almost as if he were one of these… pokemon. Although, it was one I have never seen before. My reflection sneered at me in disgust. Why? Was it something bad that I have done? I don't know… however, that is what I'm to find out right now.
"You're pathetic" The other me growled out.
"You let yourself be taken over, and you couldn't confront that Rhydon through the use of your own power" He continued to scold me.
"What are you talking about? I just got angry" I stoically answered.
"Of course you wouldn't remember, you have amnesia don't you? Fine, I will let you off this time. Try to control yourself next time… if you remember that is" The pokemon version of me chuckled.
"Who are you?" I asked in confusion.
"Tch, you're such a loser… I am your wild side, or as you found out: your pokemon side" He answered with a scoff, before vanishing into the deep dark.
"Wait! I have so many more questions!" I shouted, however…
With a snort, and soon to be small grin, the other me responded "As I said, I have no time talking to weaklings like you, once you have maybe learnt to control both sides… then we'll talk"
"But…" I started, although, the other me was long gone into my subconscious.
Forest Cave, A Day Later
Groaning in pain, my eyes slightly adjusted to the morning light, shining through a giant opening leading to the outside. Two voices could be heard; One of them was a much deeper growling, while the other a more high-pitched hyperactive. The figures I could barely see were of one larger and smaller then the other. Once my vision was cleared, what was revealed were two pokemon; My partner, Riolu, and the other Rhydon I believe from what my other side told me. Both were standing at the entrance, guarding, and looking out for any intruders. Once their ears picked up on my voice, they rushed over and were by my side almost immediately. Making sure I was okay, and not injured.
"Master, you're finally awake!" Riolu excitedly bounced up and down.
"Relax little one, you should allow him some silence for a bit" The deep voice of Rhydon scolded slightly, making the small pokemon pout.
"Ugh… my head… what happened?" I asked as the large dinosaur like pokemon helped me sit up while I grabbed my throbbing head.
"W-Well, whenever…" Riolu started off, however, he was silenced by the other.
"You calmed me down thanks to you young one, however, for overexerting yourself like this was not the wisest of moves, for it was how you fell into a bit of a slumber" Rhydon explained, while the small like canine pokemon wanted to protest, but one stern look from the larger and fiercer silenced him completely.
"I see… though, I have got an important question to ask…" I started hesitantly with a hoarse voice, and the two pokemon nodded me to go ahead.
"Wh… What do you think of me?" Asking, gulped, awaiting the obvious response.
"Are you crazy?! You're no monster! You're an awesome new trainer with cool powers! How can anyone think of you like that?!" Riolu answered with a big grin on his face as he sensed his trainer on edge. Rhydon nodded in agreement.
"Yes, exactly right. You're not a monster. Instead, a human with a powerful gift. I know that you will go far in your journey" The dinosaur like pokemon added his own opinion with a smile on its face.
My lips quirked up slightly, as a tear went down my left eye "Thank you, guys, that really means a lot to me" I said, trying to hold back my damn of emotions that is shut tight. The two pokemon hugged him, before Rhydon put me on his back.
"Now, where was it that Lance guy said we are supposed to go?" The small blue canine like pokemon asked with a sheepish smile on his face, making me and the dinosaur pokemon chuckle, thankful for the subject change.
A Week Later, Pallet Town
Me and my partner as well as greatest friend wandered into a quiet town, there luckily weren't that many people about, since when we got here, was instantly on edge as Riolu kept me calm at all times whenever my instinctual feelings of fear started to arise. Since I don't have any of them strange red-white devices that hold the creatures, we had to unfortunately leave Rhydon behind, a promise we made to come back for him once I had them since it was obvious the longing eyes meant wanting to go along on the journey. Every person we went by, my body instinctually tensed up, however, when Riolu said there was no malice in these people's auras, relaxed I became… slightly. My guard will always be up around humans, even if they're friendly.
"You need to soften up man!" My partner suggested.
With a small shrug, I responded "Hmph"
"Really don't know how to interact with others huh?" Riolu sighed.
I just continued to stare at the occasional bird pokemon that flew freely in the skies, and the other wild land pokemon that also occupied this town. What to give to have wings…? Want to be free from the grasp of hatred and slavery that I have been bound to since the day I was released from my prison. Shaking these negative thoughts out of my head, we continued to explore this town. From time to time, random wild pokemon would occasionally bow to me. It's a strange behaviour, have no idea what has been done to deserve their utmost respect.
While we were sightseeing, a woman's eye caught our attention, immediately making me tense up.
"Hello, you must be a new face in Pallet Town… welcome! Is there anything I can do for you?" She asked me with a kind smile, making me relax. She was pretty; a slender frame, fair skin, and brown eyes. Smooth light brown hair that she keeps in a pony tail. She wears a pink short sleeved jacket with a combination of a yellow undershirt, a purple skirt, and green shoes. I have never seen such a smile, not one that I can remember at least. All of a sudden, a flash of an illusion made me see a woman with whitish-silver hair, before going back to the woman originally there. I rubbed my eyes slightly, thinking nothing of it. One slight look from my partner pokemon told me everything; that we are going to talk later about that, since maybe he felt another shift in my aura? I don't know.
"Are you lost perhaps?" The woman asked once more, shaking me out of my thoughts.
"Y-Yeah… do you know if perhaps a, pokemon professor lives here?" I hesitantly answered with my own question, nervous as hell since I never have been in a conversation like this before.
"Ah yes! You must be referring to Professor Oak! A starting trainer I see. Follow me, I'll take you to his lab" She smiled as she gestured with her hand to follow her, and so I did with reluctance with Riolu not that far behind.
As we were making our way through the town, we saw what seems to be some kind of ranch, farmhouse, and a windmill. This made me think we made a wrong turn. However, the woman smiled reassuringly that we did not get lost. What a relief! Nearing the door to the laboratory and instantly recognising the smell, made me growl in slight anger, laced with fear since my body was shaking slightly. However, the woman once again turned around and smiled at us, bowing.
"I'm so sorry, I forgot to introduce myself! How rude of me… My name is Delia Ketchum! Its nice to meet you two!" The now known Delia introduced herself.
Calming myself down, an automatic response came from my mouth "My partner Riolu, my name I don't really remember"
"So you must be the young man Lance informed me about, welcome to Pallet, trainer! I'm Professor Oak and I have been expecting you!" He introduced himself with a smile. An old man he was; with light brownish-grey hair, brown eyes, wears a red business shirt, skin-coloured jeans, brown shoes and on top of all that a white lab coat. That coat was a red flag, making me instantly back up slightly. This man was not to be trusted. For now. Until he is deemed worthy, avoided at all cost this professor must be. As usual, my partner noticed the uncomfortable shift of the aura around me and decided to reassure me as much as possible that everything is going to be alright. It worked of course, and now here I was, bravely in front of him standing.
"I see that you mistrust me, which is understandable. Just by looking at you young man, I can tell that you have been struggling to live properly. Follow me, we have a few things to discuss" Oak said seriously as we followed him into his laboratory.
Inside The Research Lab
We came into the lab, finding strange machines and devices meant for experimenting, giving me extremely bad vibes. The only thing that is bothering me: Why? What is it that this man want with me? Is it a plot to capture me and experiment on me? These random thoughts kept popping up in my mind, questioning reality and coming up with many possibilities of what might happen if I'm not careful. It's something that I noticed about me recently since I have started travelling about in this region, is that my mind has become clearer in the ways of thinking. Do humans think like this usually? I don't understand human nature at all. What I have noticed also is that this place is a combination of a house and a lab. Strange. Who would live in a condition like this? Humans are strange indeed.
"Now then, take a seat young man. I'm sure you have many questions that need be answered" Professor Oak started.
I tensed. How? Did he read my mind?
"It's okay, he won't hurt you, he's the kindest man this town and region has" Delia reassured with a kind smile, making me slightly relax. Although not completely.
"Y-yeah, I… d-do" I stuttered.
"First off, I will answer any of yours you have for me" Oak started with a smile, making me nervously nod.
Gulping, I began "W-Who lives… in this, kind of condition?"
"Professors like me of course, it's not as bad as you think it is. Just imagine living a normal life but in combination of your job, which makes it easier by 100%!" He answered with a grin. This made the brown-haired woman giggle slightly at his antics; however, I had no idea how to react. Instead, I just stared with a stoic expression.
"I see you're not one with emotions" Oak proceeded as he calmed down, sighing in content.
"Hn" Was my response, starting to feel uncomfortable.
"Here we go again…" Riolu mumbled to himself, although, due to my superior hearing, it was heard by yours truly.
"Come on, please tell us more about yourself… oh, I know! Oak, how about you ask him the question?" Delia smiled. Narrowing my eyes, I closed in slightly on myself.
"Sorry if you took it the wrong way, I didn't mean it" She apologised immediately with a bow. Humans are weird. Slightly relaxing once more, the professor decided to ask the question.
"What is your reason for being a pokemon trainer? I know I usually don't ask these types of questions, however, always hearing the same responses, or similar ones anyways. Some just want to do it for the fun of it, the others want to be the best of trainers, breeders… one kid I know wants to be the greatest pokemon master when he becomes ten" The professor smiled at the last one.
I looked up to the ceiling for a moment, trying to think of an answer… however, nothing was coming up. It was really starting to stress me out, and they could see that.
What is my goal? My true reason?
"I… I don… I don't know" I stuttered out as I bit my lip, a nervous habit of mine.
"It's alright, how about giving you a day to think about it? Then, come to me for when you have the answer" Oak smiled, and nodded his head in approval. I nodded back.
"Thanks" I said and immediately decided to leave, before being stopped suddenly, making me panic, turn around and was about to hit the nice lady, however, the professor blocked the backhand.
"You shouldn't sneak up on me like that, it is an instinctual response of mine" I warned, and calmed down instantly, before huffing.
"You could stay at my place for a day if you'd like" Delia offered her hand to me, though declined it instantly.
"I don't like the indoors, it makes me feel sick… I prefer the outside" I stated simply and left the lab.
With Riolu not too far behind, "Wait up, master!"
With that said, the professor and single mother smiled at the boy and his starter pokemon.
"He's an odd one, isn't he?" Oak asked with a kind smile.
"Of course, although, I am slightly worried about his wellbeing, hope that he doesn't get a cold" Delia said with a concerned voice.
"I'm sure he'll be fine, perhaps, he needs some time alone to think things over" The professor nodded his head.
"Hai… you know who he reminds me of?" She asked, a sad smile on her face.
"Of course, I just realised the similarities! It's been so long ago since she ran away…" Professor Oak sadly smiled.
"I miss her too, we all do… that shade of bright silver long hair I recognise anywhere" The woman said.
Near the Forest, On a Tree
I stared out into the small village, laying against the tree on a tree branch. It was beautiful; the landscape brought to life with colours of green, blue, and yellow. The pallet then was filled in with buildings, clouds, and wildlife to fill the gaps. This is why I loved being outside more; just hate being in isolation all the time. However, sometimes there is no choice but to be indoors. Which is a pain in the ass. Sighing, rubbed my aching head. Noticing that I had been doing that a lot recently, usually whenever I think hard about something. That question… it bugs me to no end. Maybe I do not have a purpose in life? How did I come to this world then? Its hard to remember. Everything just comes out blank for me.
'What is your reason for being a pokemon trainer?' Professor Oak's question echoed within me. This led me in an endless loop of me staring at the sky, then the village and so on. Thinking hard about everything. There are many possibilities, although, I can't figure out which one. Riolu, as usual seemed to sense my struggles.
"Thinking deep are ya pal?" The blue humanoid like canine pokemon asked with a grin on his face.
"Hmph" Was my smart response.
"When are you going to open up to me?!" Riolu pouted after he shouted.
"Never…"
"But why?!"
"We've known each other for only a week and four days" I finished the argument, stating simple facts.
"I'm going to make you open up to me at some point, believe it!" He grinned.
My lips quirked up slightly, however, it definitely was lucky that it went unnoticed.
Afterwards, our peaceful relaxation was disturbed by an ear-piercing scream from a human. Me and my partner stared at each other with wide eyes, before a silent conversation went between us, our feet moving on our own to the source as fast as possible.
Near a Wild River's Edge, Pallet Forest
A boy with spiky black hair and light brown eyes, wearing a simple red and white t-shirt and matching pants, blue shoes, and an inverted cap. Age nine, soon to be ten was slowly backing away from an angry pokemon, not just one, but a group of bee-like pokemon with drills as their arms and a yellow stinger, red murderous eyes. They backed the poor boy to the edge, about to make a move. He didn't know what he was doing wrong, trying his best to calm the angry creatures down, to no avail… he didn't even realise that while the kid was exploring, stumbled upon the nest of the bee-like pokemon.
"Hey, listen… I did not mean to disturb you, promise! I didn't realise there was a nest of you guys there… p-please let me go" The boy pleaded his case; however, it seems that their drill like arms started to glow. He shut his eyes, about to accept his fate, however, it never came as he heard an explosion. When he looked up, he saw his saviour standing in full serious confidence. The only thing he could make out was the whitish-silver hair. He looked amazed and shell shocked at the way this guy took the attack for him, also noticing a small pokemon beside him with a determined expression. This just made his two mysterious heroes someone to admire for the rest of his life.
Back with OC POV
I stood tall with my hand out with a brand-new confidence I have never had before, a serious and determined expression on my face as the enemy's attack was completely blocked by some sort of spectral shield that surrounded me for just a second, before breaking into shards. No clue what these strange powers of mine are, they just seemed to come out of nowhere since the day I started travelling with my partner, its like they protected me automatically. Once the smoke cleared, I was staring down a small army of bee-like pokemon. I looked behind to see the kid who had wide eyes at my performance, making me internally sigh. Great, an admirer. Just what I need.
With all my killing intent directed at the creatures, this word made them shiver "Talk"
"W-W-Well… we, we were just peacefully sleeping Kakuna at first, before this brat came into our territory and woke us all up, causing our evolution into Beedrill earlier then expected" The leader of the now known Beedrill group explained with slight fear laced in his voice.
"I see… get out of my sight, before I make you" To that cold voice, their response was to simply buzz off, not wanting to mess with me.
'An angry one is not a good sign, not messing with that kid anymore' The Beedrill group leader thought to himself.
The boy stared at me in awe.
"W-Wow, you can talk to pokemon" He stuttered.
"Don't tell anyone brat, they'll be after me again" I warned with a scoff, as I walked off back to town.
"Understood, hey! Wait for me!" He shouted as he ran after me.
"Are you sure this was a good idea, master?" Riolu voiced his concern.
No response, just a silent hum of approval, making the young blue humanoid like canine sigh.
"I hate it when you give no answer to those kinds of questions" Riolu deadpanned.
"I know" Was my smart response.
"Hey! What are you and your partner pokemon talking about?" The boy asked as he caught up with us.
"Don't worry about it kid" I answered with indifference. Making him pout, before becoming his cheerful self again.
"By the way, my name is Ash… Ash Ketchum! Future Pokemon Master!" He pointed at himself with a big grin on his face.
"I see, nice to meet you" I responded blandly.
"What about you?" The now known Ash asked.
"I don't have a name, though my partner here is Riolu" I pointed out to him, who waved at him with a grin.
My guard will always be up around humans.
That will never change.
Though, these new emotions… I don't understand.
What are they?
Back In Pallet Town, Ketchum Residence
"Oh Ash! You're back! Thank goodness you're okay! I was starting to get worried!" Delia hugged her son, making him pout.
"Don't worry mom! I was fine! Don't have to be worried about me at all!" He blushed in embarrassment.
To say that I was surprised, you could say it was an understatement. While on my travels to Pallet, I have witnessed some overprotective parents. However, this… this is an understatement. This woman here exaggerates her love for her son a little too much. Granted, I have no idea about human feelings, but even this is quite… shocking (no pun intended). I'm an orphan and has been for how long I can remember. Seeing this made my heart wrench slightly. Jealousy slightly peaked through the door of locked up emotions, scowling slightly at this scene. Begging for attention is one thing but begging for parents is another. And that's what I want, loving parents to welcome me home. To which, I don't have one. I'm just a lone travelling orphan.
Now, I question myself. How did I even come into this world? My confidence has been wavering for quite some time now. What is my goal? Closing my eyes and shaking my head, locking these thoughts up in a cell with the rest of my emotions, remaining behind the bars. The other side inside my mind continued to watch my life with an indifferent look on its face, however, behind that mask hid a saddened expression. No child like this should suffer at that kind of age, although, it is a trial that he must overcome on his own to control his gift. That is when he'll give himself up willingly, but for now; his two sides will continue to fight for dominance.
'What is your reason for being a pokemon trainer?' The professor's question echoed in my mind once again.
Riolu noticed the glazed look in my eyes and snapped me out of it before plummeting further into the darkness of my own despair.
"You okay master?" The blue humanoid like canine grabbed my attention with a worried look.
However, when looking down at my partner, I was a bit of myself again "I am"
"Your aura shift doesn't say the same thing" Riolu said gently.
"Don't worry about it" With indifference I answered.
"Hey pal, you have been out of it for quite some time! It must have been a very long journey for you to get to Pallet, so please come inside and have some tea" Delia said with a kind smile on her face. The image of that silver haired woman flashed through my eyes once more, to which I shook off as a mirage. I was still on guard around her, didn't want her stabbing me in the back all of a sudden. The worst thing that could happen in all honesty.
"Don't worry, I won't hurt you, promise" She said with sincerity.
"I don't sense any malice within her aura master, everything is going to be alright" My partner pokemon reassured, which made me calm slightly down.
"Yeah! My mother is the friendliest person in the whole town, plus, her cooking is the best!" Ash shouted as he ran inside.
With a small nod, I entered the house reluctantly.
Who would have known that it was an enjoyable rest of the evening? Not me. Spending time with the Ketchum family was… interesting at best, even though they both tried to get me to smile. Yeah, not going to happen. Even Riolu tried his best and failed. It was just event after event after we had tea; From pranks to comedy tv, and the like. Even tried to tickle me… so childish. Once it was near the end of the day, me, and Ash, as well as my partner Riolu were watching tv in the black spiky haired kid's room. And to say that he was a fan of pokemon was an understatement… he had merchandise EVERYWHERE, it was a real pain of looking at it. He had a carpet, bed sheet with a pokemon pillow, you name it. Honestly a nightmare staring at all that.
On the television we were watching some sort of battle between two pokemon, it was quite intense to be fair. With me watching with stoic concentration, and Ash, even Riolu were bouncing up and down on the floor in excitement. They're both so hyperactive it's starting to slowly drive me insane. However, keeping my cool was the first thing I needed to do. The battle looked interesting, these brand new pokemon were battling it out one on one with adrenaline pumping in them while their trainers were calling out attacks, with them following as instructed. I never imagined these creatures would be so loyal. Now, it must be that I never had a happy childhood that's true, although, it is bad enough that I'm experiencing this fun now.
My partner Riolu was watching me as well with curiosity, possibly trying to figure me out. Even though we've been the longest together, that does not mean that he knows me best yet. I sighed, knowing what he was trying to do.
"Trying to figure me out again? Face it, it'll never happen"
"Oh I will! I'm just that stubborn!" The small pokemon pouted as he turned back to the tv in a fake aggressive manner and crossed his arms. Kinda girly if you ask me… no offense.
"You're hopeless" I sighed.
"So what if I am?" Riolu grinned mischievously.
I sighed again in exasperation.
"Hey, what are you two talking about?" Ash asked excitedly.
"Nothing, don't worry about it…" I waved him off, making him slightly raise an eyebrow.
"Are you sure?" Ash moved in a bit closer, making me slightly uncomfortable.
"Yes, its personal business. And please, could you move back a little?" I growled in slight annoyance.
"Sure!" He said and did just that, before we continued watching tv.
What is this, I feel? I don't understand…
I think I have found my reason to continue fighting…
The Next Day, Professor Oak's Lab
"So my young friend, have you decided?" Oak asked as I was looking at the ceiling of the room with glazed eyes for guidance. However, also consulting with myself about his question that kept coming up in my mind. In a relaxed manner, I looked down to see the pokemon professor once more. Thinking deeply about it for a few more seconds, my mouth moved on its own, without my command. It was just, automatic. Not even my wild side was expecting these words. Even the professor was shocked because he never heard anyone respond like this.
"My purpose… is to find peace within myself, and to really just see the world for what it is"
Next Time: Trouble In Viridian
Yo everyone! I promised a longer chapter, so here it is! Anyways, now you know a bit more background about the OC character. Its that he is struggling with himself. His reason for journeying across the world makes sense because he wants to find the peace he's looking for. Also, it won't take like one thousand episodes to control his gift like Naruto is to befriend Kurama lmao. So, what did you guys think? Let me know in the reviews! I would like some constructive feedback in order to improve my writing, I know I included a third person shift in this chapter, though I thought it was pretty cool and flowed well. That will happen sometimes, but rarely.
One last thing, the OC is not going to travel with Ash, it is slightly before his journey to be a pokemon master since he's only nine. From time to time they will meet up, however. That's a promise.
P.S. Sorry for the long wait for an update, I have real life things to do like go Uni and go Work.
