Not even the brightest sun could wake Naruto from his slumber, he woke up a few hour before sunset but he did not dare to prowl around the castle, he did not want his host to think he had no manners.

He decided to take a bath and change into a simple silk shirt and blue pants he found on the dresser. He assumed the clothes belonged to the brunette as they fit slightly large and loose.

"I am starving" - he thought miserably and what made it worse was the thought that the other worldly creatures would not have human food, he doubted they ate anything other than blood.

Sasuke came to his room a few minutes after the sun had disappeared, he knocked on the door and let himself i'm without waiting for a a reply. "The clothes suit you my pet"

"They don't, they're too big on me" - Naruto rolled his sleeves up to prove his point. "But i most say you do have a sense of style"

"That's not mine, Juugo probably took it from a cadaver after he was done eating" - Naruto's eyeballs almost popped out in surprise.

"What the hell" - Naruto was about to throw the shirt away when Sasuke laughed

"It's a joke idiot" - he laughed again

"I'll take you to the nearest human settlement, i believe you might be hungry"

"I am" - the blonde whined. "What about the others?"

"They'll stay, our lives are as boring as yours, only difference is we don't age or die from sickness or... common methods if you will"

"Let's go then"

Kyubi was waiting for them, his saddle had been removed and Sasuke refused to put it back, he delighted in bareback riding he had explained.

The townspeople looked at the pair in awe, the smaller boy had his long blonde hair untied and so it fell over the expanse of his shoulders, the only telltale that he was a boy was his clothes.

"Choose whatever you want" - Naruto looked around embarrassed. "You... don't know how to cook?"

"I… well… my family has a cook, i mean i…"

"Hm, daddy's little boy"

"I'm not" - Naruto's eyes sparked with defiance. "Father never allowed it"

"Choose mortal, I'll teach you" - Sasuke stepped back and with a gentle push he made Naruto approach a stall of vegetables and smiling he picked everything he could think of, chatting happily with the old lady. Sasuke paid for everything the blonde wanted, even when Naruto offered him golden coins he had brought with him.

Sasuke separated himself from the blonde for a while, wanting to check a ribbon shop, he bought one and returned to his pet who was now buying a sketchbook and a few pencils.

"I thought i said you had to buy food'

"No, you said I could buy whatever I want" - the other teased. "I'll pay for this myself" - Naruto paid for the items and turned to leave.

"Let's go to that tavern, I'll buy you dinner"

Sasuke watched him eat, observed his refined manners and every little quirk the other displayed. How long had it been since he ate human food? He could not remember, not even the taste of it came to mind. Naruto seemed to be enjoying himself, it was probably the first time he visited a lowly tavern.

"Freedom, huh?" - he thought with a smile.

"Naruto, wait for me here, I have to feed" - Sasuke left some money on the table and left. After waiting for his companion for half an hour he decided to look for Sasuke, he looked around for a while until he saw that shadow from the night before in an alley, Sasuke's obsidian eyes pierced his own as he seductively licked the woman's neck, his arms holding her close, he whispered something to her ear and she moaned in pleasure before falling limp in his arms. Sasuke helped her down to the floor and left her there.

"Is she dead"

"Merely unconscious, i do not kill them all, just the ones that deserve it" - Naruto raised his hand to trace rosy cheeks. "Let's go back, i do not desire to dwell with mortals anymore"

Sasuke stood by one of the upper windows, watching the human boy sitting under the shade of a tree, the sun was still high in the sky and its glare hurt his eyes, but it was such a treat watching this boy with his long tresses of hair playfully dancing with the breeze.

"Why did you bring him here?" - Sakura asked from behind, the elder vampire approached.

"His soul is resonating inside me, his whole existence makes me feel dizzy, I don't know why but i feel drawn to him, i didn't find him by coincidence"

"Will you turn him?"

"Don't be absurd Sakura, i met him two days ago, i haven't lived 300 years to do a stupidity like that"

"Suigetsu is coming back to night, Akatsuki has begun moving once again"

"We're safe here, for now" - Sasuke returned his attention once again to the young mortal who was now looking at them, he waved energetically and the turned his attention to the setting sun, probably thinking when the vampire would be able to join him.

Sasuke came down when the rays of the sun could harm him no more, he approached the teen from behind and sat down, Naruto was startled when the other gathered his hair and tied it tightly.

"I bought this for you yesterday" - Sasuke kissed the blood red ribbon as he let it go.

"You are to kind"

"Not at all"

"I'm waiting for another one of our kind to arrive, come with me and I'll teach you a thing or two about food, i might be unable to eat but this knowledge won't ever go away"

Suigetsu, one of the oldest of the clan, arrived past midnight, all of the vampires met in the sitting room, Naruto did not want to meddle into their affairs so he remained on the doorway until Sasuke signaled him to join them.

"Sasuke's pet" - Ino whispered to Suigetsu, Cobalt daggers pierced the atmosphere. "It's a joke" - she laughed at his anger.

"What news do you bring?"

"Akatsuki members are gaining terrain, they have killed a high number of our people in the northern part of Konoha, few were able to hide thanks to elder Tsunade. Akatsuki knows we are nearby, they know Sasuke is here and they'll not rest until he… we are dead"

"We are safe, there is no way they can find this castle, no human eye is able to find our location"

"Tsunade will take everyone that needs asylum, our people have begun to move to other shelters, other are trying to blend in with the mortals, the elders that are no longer afraid of the sun"

"We stay" - Sasuke reiterated

"We trust your decision, you who posses royal blood, the blood of our creators" - Sakura proclaimed and stood up to bow at the brunette and everyone followed.
