Author's Note: We're back to Ju again. This week was a little bit hard to stay focused. But I am back. (I am going to have to rework my work schedule though, wish me luck on that. I do believe it will be fine by tomorrow.) We might be getting somewhere with the main plot. It still needs a little bit of work, but I can do it. Who exactly is Lady Han? What does she want with the Liao-Wang Clan? Let's just see what happens next week. Until then, enjoy this week's match.

Match Five: School Work, Potential War, and Lady Fan:

-Ju-

We tried to keep the Lady Fan situation a secret. The last thing we needed was the rest of the clan freaking out over something that could be possibly nothing. Fei and Hen-to have been keeping a lookout though. (I don't know how I'd survive without them.) Right now, I still have final exams coming up before graduation.

Balancing school, a clan, and motherhood take work. I have met classmates that have children of their own. I've even seen pictures of a couple of them. They look cute, I have to admit. Not as cute as my baby though. I giggled to myself at my computer.

Tina and Qun were already working on plans for their futures. I myself didn't have much. Just run the clan until I die.

I heard a knock on my door.

"Enter," I said. I looked up to see Yao standing in the doorway. He had an apron on over his clothes.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Dinner's ready," Yao said.

"Okay," I said, nodding. "I'll be down in a moment."

"Alright," he said. Yao backed away from the doorway. I turned back to my computer screen. I had to get this paper done for my psychology class. The professor was rather forgiving of me. I still had to do the work, of course. I did my best too. Sometimes, Yao would have to make take a break.

"Come on," he would tell me. "You shouldn't be overworking yourself. Come and eat dinner." I dropped my shoulders and sighed.

"Fine," I said. I got up and walked out of the room.

I just need to finish this last paragraph of this essay. I'm going to have to go through and edit this. I rolled my eyes. Good thing I have Bik and Cai on my side.

I didn't look up when my phone buzzed. Sorry, everyone. I have to finish this paper. I'm going to get this done, damn it. I clenched my teeth. It didn't help that I could smell dinner from across the hall. My mouth started to water. I shook my head.

No! I have to do this!

I paused and took a breath. Right. I stretched my neck from side to side and got back to work.

I had dinner at the table with Yao and Jing. I didn't care if I looked like a pig shoving food into my mouth. Yao was probably staring at me with an eyebrow raised.

"Is it that good?" he asked.

"Uh-huh," I said. I shoved more food into my mouth. The baby is probably staring at me too. Let my boys stare. I earned this. I'm hungry.

"How much do you have left for your school?" Yao asked. I glanced up at him.

"Just that essay and my exams," I said. "I already crushed the essay." I couldn't help but grin at that part. Jing cooed as if on cue.

"Thank you," I said. "Your mommy is awesome." I reached over and booped him on his little nose. Another thought crossed my mind.

"Hey, Yao," I said.

"Yeah?" he asked. I sat back in my chair.

"What do we do if… you know?" I asked. He looked confused at first.

"What do you mean?" Yao asked.

"You know… Lady Fan," I said. "What do we do?" He froze for a moment.

"Oh, that," he said. I frowned at him.

"Yao," I said. My husband put up his hands.

"I know, I know," he said. Yao picked up his chopsticks and took a bite. I shook my head. We still didn't know much about Lady Fan. Fei and Hen-to wouldn't tell me much about her. We don't even know what she wants.

"Hey Yao," I said.

"What?" he asked.

"Do you think there's going to be a war?" I asked. Yao lowered his chopsticks.

"Why would you think that?" he asked. I shrugged and shook my head.

"I don't know," I said. "I am just guessing here. Nobody is telling me anything. Even Fei and Hen-to doesn't know what's going on." I rubbed my forehead.

"We've already got a crazy cult of witches stalking us. Am I going to have more to worry about here? I mean, come on. What am I walking on here?" Yao patted me on the hand. I looked up at him. Yao gave me a calm smile.

"We are all doing what we can," he said. "Fei and Hen-to will let us know when something changes." I wanted to believe him. He really does mean what he says. But still…

"Is that enough though?" I asked. Yao frowned.

"Why are you doubting them?" he asked. I shook my head.

"Is something wrong?" he asked. I shrugged.

"Sweetheart," my love said.

"I know, I know," I said. I looked over at our son. He's so lucky that he has no idea what we're talking about. Oh to be a baby again. He just has to worry about food, sleeping, having his diaper changed, and sometimes playing. Jing has no clue about the other side of the clan or a bunch of crazy witches after him.

"It might just be school," I lied.

"Are you tired?" Yao asked. I lowered my head and nodded.

"Okay," he said. "You can go take a bath and go to bed after you finish your dinner, okay?" I nodded with my face down. Yao kissed me on the back of my head.

"Okay," he whispered. "I'll go run your bath."

"Thank you," I whispered. Yao gave me another kiss before he got up from the table. I lifted my head when I heard him leave the room. Somehow, I felt a little bit better. Jing wiggled around in his highchair. Okay, it's time to put him to bed then. I stood up and walked over to his bright yellow highchair.

The rest of the evening was rather peaceful. I took a bath and went to bed. Usually, I would stay up and study for my exams. But I just didn't feel like it tonight. I just wanted to go to sleep. I guess I could just study in the morning. I drew my eyes closed and went to sleep. I was convinced that everything was going to be fine.

In the morning, I woke up to the doorbell ringing. I looked over at the clock next to my bed. Five in the morning? Who the hell is at my door this early? The doorbell rang again. I looked over at my sleeping husband. Yao mumbled to himself before turning over in bed. I shook my head. That man could sleep through anything. The doorbell rang again. I clicked my tongue.

"Okay, I'm coming," I muttered to myself. "Damn it." I climbed out of bed and grabbed my robe from behind the door. The doorbell pushed me to keep going. I was almost tempted to wait until they gave and walked off.

"Who is it?" I asked as I looked out the peephole. A figure in black stood outside, looking in. But then, I noticed another figure standing next to that one. A confused look came over my face. Curious, I opened the door.

A woman with pale skin and long black-brown stood in front of me. I couldn't take my eyes off of the mole under her right eye. Despite it being so early in the morning, she looked like she was dressed to go to a fancy party in her black dress and black and silver earrings. Another woman, a black woman dressed in green and gold, stared at me. I blinked for a moment.

"Uh… can I help you?" I asked. The woman in black perked up at me. She clapped her hands together.

"Cousin!" she said. "So glad to finally meet you!" My stomach dropped.
