Fire nation soldiers surged forward. Socka took a step back positioning himself in front of princess Yue.
Katara and Zuko both moved to meet the soldiers. Katara fought with water and ice to push them back and trap them. Zuko forced them on the defensive and dissipated their attacks.
Aang stood behind them blowing the soldiers back into the fight. The three of them together took out every soldier over time, leaving them unconscious.
"Socka the spirits," Aang shouted.
Socka lunged forward only to be cut off by Zhao.
"Nice try kid."
Socka moved into a fighting position.
"Fight me like a man!"
Zhao smirked.
"I don't have to."
He threw a wave of fire directly at Princess Yue. Socka cried out and dived in front of her, taking the blast himself.
Katara, Aang, and Yue screamed.
Zhao reached into the oasis and grabbed the white koi fish. He shoved the moon spirit into a burlap bag.
The moon turned red.
"Stop," Zuko yelled.
The admiral raised the bag in victory.
"Why would I. I have claimed victory for the fire nation!"
"The fire nation needs the moon spirit just as much as everyone else!"
Katara kneeled beside her brother splashing water desperately on his burns. Aang and Yue tried to help.
"Zhao! Whatever you do to that spirit I'll unleash on you tenfold!"
The admiral just sneered and burned the bag.
The moon disappeared completely.
"No!"
Zuko attacked.
The admiral and the prince clashed violently. Fire filled the oasis at their battle. One blast after the next Zuko pushed the moon slayer out of the oasis.
The two fought in the dark of night, only their fire burning through the icy city to light the way.
"You enemy of the fire nation! You freed the avatar!"
"I had no choice! I couldn't leave him with you!"
"You should have chosen to accept your failure, your disgrace. Then at least you could have lived!"
A blast of fire and the fight continued.
Zuko dodged and punched and lunged. He burned Zhao pushing him down to the lower level.
The moon returned to the sky.
"No! Impossible!"
"Give it up Zhao. You've failed."
He snarled and lunged again.
A brilliant blue light filled the city. Both fire benders looked up to see a large glowing Sigurd rise above the North Pole. The spirit of the ocean, and inside was the avatar.
His tattoos and eyes glowed white with power. The creature moved forward knocking aside fire nation soldiers and boats.
Ships pulled away desperately. The fire nation retreated as fast as the could.
Zhao was knocked over the edge by the spirits passing.
Zuko lunged for him.
"Take my hand!"
The admiral looked at him in disgust. With a cruel smirk, he let go, falling into the icy ocean never to be seen again.
"No!"
Zuko pulled back from the ledge in shock. He stood under the light of the moon with no knowledge as to what had just occurred.
So that's the last chapter for the first part of the show. From this point forward zuko's adventures will stray a bit farther from the original show until he meets back up with the gang.
Socka is just fine he was healed by katara using spirit water after Yue turned into the moon.
I'll probably do some chapters from the gangs pov just to explain their views on Zuko after all of this.
