Balmera Adventure

Nunnally POV

Nunnally was looking at the alien planet with amazement and wonder as she saw one of the most beautiful things in her life, it was worth it to finally get her eyesight. But she couldn't walk properly as she had to use crutches. She was both envious and determined.

As she walked slowly, admiring the living planet, she could only describe it like the fantasy storybook called Crystal Castle that her mother and brother used to read as a bedtime story before she went to sleep. And right now, she is living the dream.

As she walked, she spotted the Balmera Crystal, a size like a pebble and wanted to keep one as a souvenir. But she then remembered that she couldn't pull the crystal out forcefully; it would be no different than pulling someone's hair.

It was then she was confronted by the Balmera Children who were curious about her. Thankfully, when the castle scanned the groups for safety measures, it also allowed a universal translator, allowing her to understand the alien language.

They were fond of talking happily about Voltron freeing the Balmera and Balmerans from the tyranny of the Galra. As much, she was happy seeing something her brother did; the good deed as Zero, she could only frown that fighting was the only way.

But she could not deny the happiness of the Balmerans as they were free, it's possible this was how the Japanese would feel if they were from Britannia.

She pushed aside that memory as she wanted to experience playing and conversation with the other alien kids of her age.

Sayoko POV

Sayoko was still guarding Nunnally from afar and maintained her vigilance. Even when the alien planet was surrounded by friendly aliens, she couldn't help but maintain her guard. Still, to know that life existed out of their solar systems was both thrilling and frightening.

But for the first time in her life, she felt the feeling of excitement as it was human nature to venture into the unknown. She was probably the only person in her clan that managed to venture to space on the final frontier, see the moon up close, and land on an alien planet.

She especially had a good butler/maid relationship with Coran as both of them were servants to their respective masters. Still, unlike her, she was a kunoichi and a maid, in other words, a ninja that specializes in assassination, espionage, and saboteur.

While Coran was both a genius and a funny guy. It was probably the reason why the late king, Alfor Froze Coran, knew the extensive use of the castle technology, Alteans culture, and other things. Making him one of the most important people looking after the princess.

Knowing that Lelouch was Zero was a surprise as he was the man that formed the black knights to rebel against Britannia. Knowing he was fighting for Japan, Sayoko would have followed her master Lelouch through thick and thin.

Still, to know that an alien race that was worse than the Britannia was frightening knowing their struggle on earth was like a school brawl. That the Galra existed and conquered the galaxy for ten thousand years, Sayoko just Scoffed knowing that the Britannia conquest felt small and meaningless.

Then she saw an alien child who was close to Nunnaly, who was playing with her and having a conversation. It was nice that the little Angel had someone the same age talking to her, even though they were aliens. It warmed her heart that Nunnally, the little angel that she cared for, was finally able to open her eyes and see the wonders of the universe.

She could see one of them, a boy, giving her something like a crystal, which was probably a gift. There was no doubt if Lelouch was here, he would flip. Thinking about it just made Sayoko chuckle a little.

Rakshata POV

Rakshata was in complete cloud nine right now; she already had so many things on her mind as she was on the alien planet or more like, looking at other aliens in fascination. As of right now, she was scanning the Balmera Crystal and found it to be more efficient than 10- no, 100 times better than Sakuradite. Not only that, the Crystal was radiation-free and not volatile that would cause an explosion like Sakuradite.

Rakshata could imagine how she could upgrade the Gurern even further with space flight capabilities that would surpass the Lancelot.

Sure, she knew how powerful Voltron was as it took down the Avalon airship like Pinata, but it wouldn't satisfy her ego. As she would be the only one to use her Guren to defeat the Lancelot. It was the only way to prove her superiority towards the Earl pudding.

But it could also become her side projects for cybernetics that she had abandoned years ago in the name of peace, knowing she could improve even better. She remembered looking at the droids that belonged to the Galra that Rai took advantage of to study its technology.

She couldn't stop thinking how she could gloat at the early pudding of all of this. How she was going to gloat that she had found a mate who was smarter than him and was younger, or that she was on an advanced alien ship studying its technology, or that she on an alien planet ( you get the idea ), or that she had a newfound energy source that would make her name go down in history before the earl pudding.

The sound of laughter could be heard.

"Em, Nunnally, is that human alright?" one of the Balmerans children pointed.

"She's fine, she's just in one of those phases."

"Oh, I get it when my mother and big sister do."

"Yes, that thing."

At the same time on earth, Llyod felt an itch in his nose for no reason.

Shirley POV

"It's good to see you again, Shirley."

"Yes, it seems everyone is rebuilding and dismantling anything that is related to Galra."

"It only gives us bad memories of anything Galra related after all…"

"I understand the feeling." Shirley said. She knew what Britannia did to Japan as they destroyed everything in Japan.

"Still, I'm a bit surprised that you brought your leader sister here."

"Oh, she needs some fresh air and a new environment to roam as Nunnally has been cooped inside for too long."

"Before that, did she have an accident?"

"Yes, she did and it caused her, her legs." Shirley would've wanted to talk about the eyes but it was a bit complicated to say.

"Poor girl , so young and she had to endure something like that. But I can tell she is trying her best to walk again."

"Did you experience something painful in Balmera? It's ok if you don't want to tell me."

Shay just looked sad, but since her people were free, she no longer needed to hold out speaking her mind. "We lost a lot of people, including my friends when the tunnel collapsed. You already knew Shirley as the Galra was mining and stripping the Balmera, as such, its body got weaker every day and part of the planet had started to collapse."

"I remember I had a friend once, but she didn't make it when the tunnel collapsed. It was the saddest thing I had ever felt… I felt like I couldn't do anything to someone close to you."

Shirley looked sad but remained quiet, waiting for her story.

"But it was thanks to you, Shirley and Voltron that I felt something inside of me to do something even though I would get caught just like what happened."

"And that is…?"

"Hope. Shirley, you and Voltron not only saved the Balmera but gave us hope so that we can look to the sky with happiness again." she paused, a contagious warm and carefree smile spreading over her cheeks. "Thank you, Shirley."

Shirley stared, one that was contagious; she felt warm. And Shirley smiled back.

"Yeah…" Shirley replied, voice wavering. "Yeah… no problem, Shay."

Coran POV

Coran was looking at the living planet Balmera with pride and joy, knowing that this living planet that he used to come with his grandfather and the late King Alfor was finally free from the Galra's clutches. As much he wanted to enjoy the view, though, he had the job to do as he needed to perform the sacred ceremony ritual again on a smaller scale with the other Balmerans.

Thankfully, the ritual wasn't intense or any problems like last time during the Galra occupation, as all they needed was a small crystal; a pebble sized would be enough to power up a Knightmare.

Still, Coran managed to complete his task without any troubles, as he knew that after this they would go back to earth and unite against a common enemy. It troubled him as Voltron was a bit side tracked to make sure that earth had a fighting chance against the Galra, even though the entire planet was at war with each other.

Coran already knew The Galra Empire would only need to strike from space with its heavy ion canons that could penetrate an asteroid and particle barrier along with heavy bombardment. It was a one-sided slaughter since the earth had no space flight capabilities and not only, they were fighting each other especially Brittania with its conquests.

Coran didn't like Britannia and its policy conquering nations was no different than the Galra. The number system was so barbaric and lacking morals. That, he cursed whoever thought it was such a good idea. Even the late king Alfor would feel disgusted by such a system. It was no different than slavery.

But what needed to be focused on was the present as of right now, Voltron, the paladins, and the princess needed him.

The group gathered together for lunch as Shay's grandmother prepared her new guest, her famous stew. So everyone gathered around the fire as she poured all five of them her stew.

"Em this is good!"

"I quite like it! This is my second time eating something out of this world."

"Yes, it's delicious!"

While the trio who were new to the stew, the others like Coran and Shirley were eating it quietly, ignoring what's really inside the stew ingredients.

"This is probably the best stew I ever tasted! What's in it?"

"Grandma's special dish for special visitors. Cave-root for the skin. Cave bugs for the soul."

Nunnally, who heard this just swallowed it as she didn't want to offend them.

Rakshata was the same as she found it to be disgusting and delicious at the same time, and since she was an etric person, it did bother her a bit.

Sayoko just ate it quietly. As a ninja, she was used to eating bugs in the wilderness as they had protein.

"Thank you for the delicious stew," she said as the old women poured some more.

At the same time, both Coran and Shirley snickered internally because someone besides them was eating the stew.

A/N: This is how I thought about the others who were on Balmera during that time at chapter 34 and their opinion on the alien planet for the first time. Rewritten by mythyfanfic627
