My RWBY Academia Chapter 9
The Quirk Results
We come to everyone still stunned at Izuku's amazing through that slightly beats Bakugo's throw.
"It's insane throw, but to only break one finger despite what we saw last time must have taken intense concentration" Penny theorized pondering it
"I would believe that he threw it over 700 meters!" Denki said in surprise
"Nice! He's finally showing us his true power!" Ochaco said happily
"But his fingers seem to be broken now, just like in the exam" Iida said observing.
"Yeah, but it is less then how it was then, last time he broke his arm and legs using it" Crystal points out
"I understand that, but it means to me his Quirk is very odd" Iida said thinking
"It wasn't a very pretty throw" Aoyama said simply
"Oscar, look at Bakugo's face" Ruby said seeing the stunned shocked look on Bakugo's face and giggles
"Yeah, I have the same look, even though you told me about this I was doubtful on it" Oscar admits nodding.
"I'm getting to the bottom of this" Bakugo said angry and runs forward "Hey! DEKU YOU BASTERD TELL ME HOW YOU DID THAT OR YOUR DEAD!"
"Bakugo no!" Ruby called out and rushed forward to try and stop Bakugo but stops as she was beaten to it by Aizawa using his scarf and his quirk
"Wow…that is a strong scarf if it's able to hold that guy back" Crystal amazed
"That's cause it's a capture weapon made out of carbon fibre and a special metal alloy" Aizawa explained to Crystal and Bakugo "Stand down, all of you, it'll be wise to avoid making me use my quirk so much, it gives me serious dry eye"
"Too bad, that power is amazing." Everyone said in unison.
"You're wasting my time now" Aizawa said releasing Bakugo from his hold "Whose ever next can step up, oh and Miss Rose" He looks at Ruby who eeps "I appreciate you trying to step in but learn to pick your battles, especially in the classroom setting."
"R-Right…. just out of habit" Ruby said nodding and nervously steps back with the others.
Soon Izuku re-joins them and mostly everyone made sure if Izuku was okay due to his finger. Crystal looks over at Bakugo who still an annoyed look on his face while looking at Izuku
"Well, I guess we got some classroom drama coming up this first year" Crystal said thinking
"Yeah, me and Ruby got to hear a lot about how Bakugo picked on Izuku, now we get to see it in real life" Oscar said nodding
Anyway they did the ball throw Ruby, Oscar and Crystal did okay on it, the next three events Sit ups, Seated Toe touch and long distance run had very results with them. Of course Ruby and Oscar checked on Izuku with Ochaco to make sure he was alright since he had to do all three with a broken finger.
Soon it was time for the moment of truth, the results every gathered in fronr of Aizawa and Hazel. The former saying "Alright, time to give you your results. I've ranked you all from best to worst, excluding Penny obviously, you should have a good idea of your standing already."
"We've discussed it and decided to pull up the whole list rather then go though it one by one. I will say no matter your placement these tests were ways to help you understand your Quirks and where you can improve on" Hazel explained
"Oh, this is nervous, especially since the last ranked person will be going home" Ruby said concerned
"I know, but don't worry I am sure it will work out" Penny said smiling
"Says the one here excluded from this result as Atlas made you OP" Crystal points out
"Point taken" Penny said nodding
Soon Aizawa showed the results table and everyone looked. "Oof, 17th place that is quite low" Oscar said seeing his result.
"I only did a little better. 14th" Ruby said rubbing her head "But Crystal congrats 7th place"
"I am honestly surprised I ranked there of all places" Crystal admits bashful.
"Looks like Bakugo got third place" Penny points out
"I am sure it still annoys him he wasn't 1st" Oscar mentioned
"Oh no, look who is last" Crystal said concerned. Indeed in last place was Izuku.
"Izuku…no…" Ruby said worried
However, before anything else could be said Aizawa said as he turned off the results "and I was lying, no one is going home" Everyone looks at him wide eyed in disbelief. Aizawa smiles and said "That was just a rational deception to make sure you gave it your all in the tests"
"WHAAAA!" Mostly everyone said in shock
"I'm surprised the rest of you didn't figure that out, sorry I figure I should have probably said something" Momo Yaoyorozu said.
Ruby, Oscar and Crystal look at her and think along with everyone else 'Yeah, you should have.'
"That was pretty nerve wracking" Hanta Sero said
"I agree, my heart is still pounding" Oscar said sighing
"Well for me I am always down for a challenge" Elijiro Kirishima said smiling
"Alright everyone, that is it for the day" Hazel said sighing "I will handle tidying up so you can go"
"Pick up a syllabus in the classroom, read it over for tomorrow morning" Aizawa instructs as he walks away, He however stops by Izuku and said handing a slip to him "Midorya, take this and go have the old lady fix you up. Things are going to be tougher when your actual training begins. Make sure you're prepared" He continues walking away
"Phew…least no one is going home" Ruby said sighing
"Ah That was scary" Mina let out crying as Crystal pats her back
"Well least you did better then me, you got in the top 10" Oscar admits to her
"Yeah Mina, be proud you got there at least" Crystal said nodding
"Hey Momo, congrats on coming first" Ruby said as everyone was heading to the changing rooms
"Oh thanks, I think you did well too" Momo said with a smile "But even though I was first I feel I can still improve on my quirk and it's abilities"
"Yeah, I know in strength I am lacking but I guess that is one thing UA helps train you in" Ruby admits with a nod
A while later Ruby and Oscar were heading out with Izuku who looked tired. Izuku groans saying "I'm so tired…"
"I guess that is the drawback with Recovery Girl" Oscar said
"Excuse me" Iida said and three look back to see Iida and Crystal there
"Oh, hey there Iida" Izuku said "Crystal and Penny"
"How's the broken finger doing?" Iida asked
"Oh it's doing fine after Recovery Girl" Izuku admits showing the bandaged finger
"Through he is tired due to it using all left over energy he has" Ruby points out
"Well least it is fixed" Crystal said smiling. The five walk and she see Iilda in thought. "Okay spill it Tenya, what's on your mind"
"Oh It's just I was a bit concerned with Mr. Aizawa's approach to class. But I trust the school's judgement. UA is the top Hero program." Iida explained "Still lying is downright immoral"
"I can agree but if it isn't a reoccurring thing, I can forgive him this once" Ruby said
"Plus, you act like lying is never good. You are saying you never once lied even when the truth was worst?" Crystal teased
"Hey! Don't tease me like that Arc" Iida said flabbergasted while Crystal giggled
"So, Crystal you're not walking home with Mina?" Oscar asked her
"Nah, she said for me to go ahead but I am sure she like to know you all better when we had more time." Crystal admits
"Hey! Wait up you five" Ochcao said running up deciding to join them on heading to the station.
"Actually, my uncle will be picking me and my sister up. So, I won't be able to fully come" Ruby admits
"Oh that is a shame so I guess it'll just be me, Crystal Arc, Tenya Iida, Oscar Pine and Deku right?" Ochaco said smiling
"Deku?!" Izuku said shocked
"Isn't that what Bakugo called you, during the fitness test he said 'Deku, you basterd' right?" Ochaco said
"Oh boy…" Ruby said sweat dropping knowing the full story on this
"Well, you see my name is Izuku, Deku is just what Kacchan calls me to make fun of me" Izuku explained
"That's un-sportsman like" Iida said
"You are telling, but I feel Bakugo isn't all that sportsman like to begin with" Crystal said nodding
"Oh, I didn't realize that, I'm sorry" Ochaco said "But you know what, I like Deku it could make a great hero name. Plus I think it sound's kind of cute."
"Deku it is" Izuku said suddenly face red
"Wait just like that?!" Crystal said shocked
"Yes, weren't you saying, that it was an insult?" Iida points out
"You sure on this Izuku?" Oscar said just as shocked
"Well…this is an interesting development" Ruby said sweat dropping
"Yo sis!" Yang called out and was standing with Qrow by his car "Time to go"
"Oh ride's here, see you late guys" Ruby said and everyone said bye and she gets in Qrow's vehicle
"So Ruby, how was your first day?" Qrow asked as he began driving
"It was…interesting and hard. I found I have a long way to go but I think I can make it with my classmates" Ruby said nodding
"Make any new friends?" Yang asked
"Some but I think I will try and find a group of friends to be with to give me and Izuku some space so we can both work to improve ourselves" Ruby admits. "I will say that has me more worried"
"You'll do fine sis" Yang said wrapping her arm around her little sister "Just don't get too worked up making a first impression"
"Sort of too late for that but I will try not to" Ruby said giggling. Today was tricky but tomorrow will bring new challenges to her.
Well this is the start of a new chapter for both Izuku and Ruby as they strive to be great heroes
