Their dreams were dark. A reflection of their twisted, broken souls.
Katara dreamed she was a tesla blender, blending everything and everyone in her path. She blended her friends. Her family. Zuko. And her ex boyfriend, Jet Murphy.
Zuko dreamed that Katara loved him back. He knew it was all a cruel lie, evidence of a cruel, uncaring planet. He cried.
Jotaro dreamed of his dear Papa pushing him on a swing in an idyllic pasture. But he knew that the lion couldn't be far away.
"The only thing that can save the Little Guy is the Voice of Love, and/or Snakeskin Pants, my dear son. Now go." The young dream-Jotaro replied with aanguish,
"But Papa, can you not push me on this idyllic swing for longer?" The swing was a metaphor for his idyllic childhood. But the Dear Papa turned his face away into the shadows, and was eaten by the Lion (a metaphor for the Man). Turning it's golden head to Jotaro, the lion spoke, with a terrible, ungodly voice:
"The stars shall align,
And their cold and ancient light
Will shine upon the maddening horror of
Two Awesome Bros, Fine and Jack Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"
Then everything went black, and Jotaro woke up in the Cellar of the Mayor's house. Sitting up quickly, he heard the skittering of the Leech-Rats, and Kakyoin's voice shouting,
"PRANKED!"
He went back to sleep (he had slept in much worse places, like the Goat Pit).
Joseph dreamed Javert was chasing him. It was a terrifying dream.
Kakyoin did not dream; he was up all night dragging Jotaro to the Cellar of the Mayor's House. He had also drunk so much Monster energy drinks that he wasn't gonna sleep for at least a week.
The crickets chirped in the darkness, heard by none.
The goats shifted in the heavens, seen by all.
The shadow o smiled down upon them, but that smile wouldn't rescue our effervescent protagonists from their terrible fate.
