"Come Kakashi, leave it to me to let this girl talk." Ibiki said focusing intensely on Sara. Was he ging to beat her? Sara sat up straight, she felt trapped and scared, but was unwilling to show those emotions.
It was Kakashi who came to her rescue. "Hold up Ibiki, your ways might be a bit to extreme for someone who might as well be innocent."
"But effective..." Ibiki pointed out. Ibiki was a large imposing person, together with his scarred face he did look like someone who would beat up innocent people to get the information he wanted.
"Still, we can't treat her like scum." Kakashi said. He was also tall and reminded her in every way of a killer. She could still picture him with the knife in his hand and his red eye he was now covering with a cloth and a mask. But somehow he seemed relax, gentle. Was he truly sincere or was this a trick?
Sara decided to ask him something. "Kakashi?" He looked surprised hearing Sara speaking out his name, "why did you bring me here?"
Kakashi told her the same story again about how she couldn't survive in the 'other dimension'.
"No.." Sara didn't want to hear any more lies about dimensions that didn't exist. "I mean, why did you bring me here, why didn't you drop me off somewhere safe and leave me be? Instead I'm here, being interrogated. What information do you even want from me? I don't even know anything about your ninja gang." Sara's frustration came through in her words.
But instead of answering Sara's question, Ibiki told Kakashi, "Interesting enough, she isn't lying. You know I can tell." He then made up his mind. "I'm going to get Inoichi. He needs to search in her head what really happened."
"Seems like a good idea." Kakashi answered, also ignoring Sara's questions completely.
'Great,' Sara thought when Ibiki left the room, now they will bring another interrogator. There was no end to this.
The next moment Sara was alone in the room with Kakashi. She didn't bother asking him anything else. The answers were either lies or she didn't get any answers at all. Another dimension, really, is that the best they could think off? Kakashi didn't seem to want to talk either. He found a place against the wall where he rested his back. He took a little pocket book out of his pouch and started reading it.
Sara couldn't help to think, it was either a very exiting book, or he found it really awkward to talk to her. Either way, this might be her chance. She looked at the table in front of her with all her things on it. Her radio giving another 'being out of range' bleeb. Kakashi didn't even react to it. Good. Sara's eyes looked over her pepperspray that lied next to her radio. If only she could get her hands on the spray, she would have an chance of escaping.
Sara stared back at Kakashi, he didn't seem to notice her at all. Then he turned a page, so he was really reading it. She needed to act fast, before the other one, Ibiki, would be back. She shifted on her chair, silently leaning in. No reaction from Kakashi, still focust on his book. She looked back at her pepperspray. Sara convinced herself to move now. She let her hand drop onto the table were her pepperspray was lying. Ready to pick it up and aim it at Kakashi's face... But her hand froze mid-air. Her wrist wrapped by Kakashi's hand. Sara was shocked to feel his presence so suddenly close to hers. "How? So fast.." Sara stuttered staring at the fingerless glove with a metal plate. His fingers digging deep into her skin. A strong firm grip.
Sara didn't dare to move her face, knowing she would be staring directly into his if she did. He didn't have any intentions of moving away from her. "Don't underestimate me." He warned her, his voice next to her ear, threatening. Sara held her breath, waiting for this to be over. Not sure what his next move was going to be, if he was going to hurt her.
"Sit down." He said, unnecessary, because she had no choice giving the force he used on her. Her butt landed back in the chair.
That very moment the door was opened and Ibiki walked in with the person that must be Inoichi. "Kakashi, what's going on?" Ibiki asked surprised.
"Escape attempt", Kakashi explained shortly, then greeted the new person that entered the room, "hello Inoichi. Glad you can help. This one is a pain in the ass."
Inoichi looked more friendly than the other two. He had long blond hair and was of course also dressed up as a ninja. There seemed to be a theme...
Inoichi immediately took the lead. "Right, Ibiki already explained, let's start right away." He then started to explaining a few things to Sara. "This won't hurt. I'm just going to read your mind about recent events to learn the truth." He seemed sincere. Still Sara could only think about the freakshow being complete. She had no choice. Inoichi stood behind her while Kakashi was still holding her wrist. The next moment Inoichi laid his hand on her head and she just stopped thinking for herself.
There were no ninja's anymore, no interrogation room. No, she was back in her memories. Reliving them again. Except now it was more clear, she saw more details this second time. She saw things she had already forgotten and things she didn't even realise before.
Inoichi explained to the other ninja's what he saw while searching Sara's brain. "I'll try to find the memories about what happend just before she met you Kakashi. Let's see what's really going on."
Inoichi was up for a surprise while searching for the right parts of her brain. "This is strange. Her town, it seems so different from ours. But i'll get to that later. First.. ah here it is." He found the part in her memories he was looking for. "This is what happend: Sara got a mission, from a voice through a radio. Like the ones you'd get from Tsunade." Inouchi explained. "It says someone got murdered, got killed with a knife...Let's me see.. yes. Sara and her teammates where chasing the killer. The others weren't fast enough, Sara was the only one keeping up. She ran after him alone, running in a street."
"Was it Kakashi?" Ibiki asked curiously.
Inouchi answered. "No, someone else, but it's not clear who. More or less a shadow in the dark. But certainly not Kakashi. Someone smaller, different clothing." He then continued the memory. "She ran trough an alley, then around a corner. I see.." Inouchi paused. Taking in what he really saw.
"What is it Inouchi?" Ibiki was impatient. This was clearly the part that would give the answer.
"..It's a portal. She ran trough some kind of portal. Right into the other dimension." Inouchi was shocked. "Is that even possible?.. Yet her memory is clear."
"Just like you thought Kakashi." Ibiki pointed out. Kakashi only nodded in agreement.
Inouchi continued. "Right after she runs through the portal she sees you Kakashi, your back and you are holding a knife."
Kakashi explains what happens next. "She assumed I was the killer, asking me to drop the knife and tried to arrest me. I know this part." Kakashi sighed. "I can understand she made the mistake. I don't think she even noticed going trough that portal. I remember her being stressed, full of adrenaline, confused."
Inouchi nodded. "I could imagine. Let's check who she really is and what world she actually comes from." Inouchi start searching for her recent past. "I see her, she's shy, a quiet girl in a class with similar dressed students. And now... she's helping people. An elderly woman who fell out of her bed. And a couple which home was robbed. Here she is talking to a boy who wanted to commit suicide. Next day she's trying to safe a person having a hearth attack in the middle of a busy street... Telling a family member a loved one died in a car crash... Chasing a robber and bringing him to jail... Fighting tugs..." Inouchi was taking in all the things he saw, trying to explain it to the others.
"Her world is so different then ours, more advanced. But without chakra use. They don't use chakra for anything. It's hard to imagine." Inouchi was stunned.
"But is she a good person? With good intent?" Kakashi found more important.
"Well yes, she seems to be like a shinobi in her world. But instead of using chakra, they use machines, chemicals and advanced tools." Inouchi explained. Ibiki and Kakashi looked at the items on the table. Advanced techniques.. some deadly.
"What she hit you with was a gun, it shoots bullets with extreme speed. It could easily be fatal." Inouchi also explained the other items on the table. Not fully understanding how it worked and what it could do. Just the basic he could find in recent Sara's memories. Then he ended the search by opening his eyes. This was an intense session. Even for someone like Inouchi.
Kakashi looked at Sara with a different view. She was like them, a good shinobi, but confused.
Sara on her turn looked around the room suspicious. What just happend? Why was everyone staring at her in silence? Had she been dreaming? And why did her head feel like she was just hit by a train? The dreams showed her recent events, but with so much illogical details. It was like they tried to brainwash her with with implanting idea's of portals and such in her memories. She felt like she was doubting her own truth now. It couldn't be possible, this can't be another dimension.
This must all be a trick.. but to what end? So many questions, her head was spinning. Tiredness fell over her, darkness followed.
