Story Start
Ruby was a girl who got bored easily. Even after Glynda the Good Huntress brought her to the Vale City precinct, she expected action, Intrigue, drama, but there was none of that.
Officer Cobalt simply took her statement and cross-checked it against the CCTV to confirm.
That should have been it, make her statement and leave. But no~! The Officer told her that she had to remain in the discussion (interrogation) room as there was someone who wanted to meet her.
She wanted to hurry up and leave as the feeling in her legs had returned but they had her baby in 'protective care'. Bound up with a mech-shift lock and trapped behind a pane of bulletproof one-way lucite.
Technically if she smashed the Window with a combination of Aura enhanced speed and a chair, it should shatter and give her enough time to make a partially clean getaway.
As they lead her through the PD, she was able to map out about 5 different ways to escape.
Really, why'd they install a ventilation duct above the table? Sure the suspect would have to bust out of their cuffs and use the table to even get into the vent to escape.
Pretty suspicious in her opinion.
"*Ahem* Miss Rose if you'd be so kind as to get off the table and not crawl through the ventilation system then we can get started and you can leave faster."
Standing in the doorway was a silver-haired man in a green vest, small glasses resting on his nose and a cane in one hand while the other had a plate of chocolate chip cookies.
The first thing Ozpin noted when he entered the room holding Miss Rose was her standing on the table with the ventilation panel already dislodged in her hand.
The second thing he noticed after drawing her attention was that her eyes held a frigid, analytical gaze. More akin to a retired soldier than a teenage girl.
Just as quickly as it came, the look was replaced with that of a bored teenager. Questions for later.
Slapping the panel back in place, Ruby backflipped off the table and landed on the chair with a quiet thud.
Propping her boots on the table, the teen gave off an indifferent feeling.
"Good evening Miss Rose, my name is Ozpin. Would you care for a cookie?"
Ruby eyed the man with veiled scepticism. Why was the Headmaster of Beacon here? The situation would be a self-defence case and minor property damage. Sure she was a bit brutal on the robbers but they attacked her. She only went as far as was justifiable. Well maybe she went a bit too far by shattering their hands, but that's what they get for breaking her headphones.
Turning her focus back on him, she watched as he sat down a plate of chocolate chip cookies. Her first instinct was to scarf down the baked confectionary but stopped herself. The Headmaster of the most Prestigious Academy in the area visits her after her interview and so happened to have a plate of her favourite baked goods? If her instincts were whispering to her before, not they're blatantly screaming at her.
Electing to ignore the plate in front of her, she chose the direct approach.
"What brings you here Headmaster? Surely, you didn't come all the way down here just to have a snack with me?"
Adjusting himself in his seat, Ozpin rested his cane on the table and tented his fingers in front of his face.
"I'm sure you know Miss. Rose," the bespectacled man paused to push his frames up from the bridge of his nose "I may be in charge of Beacon, but I have contacts with Vale for security reasons."
"I know, I'm wondering what that has to do with me though? All that happened was some people tried to rob me. That would be well below your interest and pay grade."
"Normally you'd be right, but there's the problem. Most times people don't defend themselves with a, what did the police say, ' high impact sniper and mechshift scythe combo'. Then there was the fact you moved like a trained hunter. So would you mind telling me what happened?"
Leaning back on her chair, Ruby balanced on the back twice legs.
"I got trained by my uncle Qrow. He taught me how to use the scythe and I taught myself how to blast targets with the sniper. Still got about 2 years left until I graduate. Now, if you'd unlock the door for me I'd like to get back and get ready for school tomorrow." Hopping off the chair, Ruby walked over to the door.
"How'd you like to attend Beacon early?"
Ruby stopped in her tracks.
"From what I saw, you're talented enough to attend Beacon early. I'm sure that as a Huntress-in-training you'd want to have access to the best teacher Vale has to offer." Standing up, Ozpin grabbed his cane and unlocked the room.
"Just send a message over if you chose to take my offer. And don't forget to have some of the cookies, I'd hate for them to get cold."
Left standing in the room, Ruby grabbed a handful of cookies and went to grab her stuff. If she was fast enough then she could get on the last Bulkhead heading to Patch.
Walking through the threshold for her house, Ruby expected to see her dad, must be ni-NOPE. In the living room was Yang scrolling through her tablet. Looking up, Yeah set her Scroll aside and approached her sister.
"Hey Rubes, it's fine if you want to bum around Vale but you need to send me a message. Dad was about to tear his way through the city looking for you." Yang half-jokingly said as she placed her hand on Ruby's shoulder.
"I know. I'm not a kid you know. There was a little incident at the dust store and I was dragged to VPD to make a statement. It was annoying at most. Now, do we have any milk left in the fridge? I accidentally got some Dust in my mouth and I need something to wash out the taste."!
"What did an old box smack you in the face? And wait, why were you at the VPD centre? Don't tell me that your taking after me, I don't think dad could handle that."
Laughing, Ruby popped open the fridge and pulled out the carton. Opening the spout, she chugged the entire carton before throwing it out.
"It's nothing. Some guys were causing a scene at the Dust Store so I smacked them around. It was recorded by some security and I had to make a statement to the police. AndOzpinofferedmeaspotatBeacon now is the Bathroom free 'cause I'd like to get out of these dirty clothes and get ready for bed." Removing her boots Ruby zipped up the stairs, heading to her room.
"Wait WHAT?! You can't just drop that in the middle of a conversation and leave it. Ruby, open the door!" Running upstairs after her, Yang just caught the bathroom door shutting with a distinctive click of a lock.
"I said nothing! Now if you excuse me, I have to shower!"
"Ruby, unlock the door and explain. Don't make me bust it down. You know I will. " a muffled sigh and a click was heard before the door opened.
Stepping inside, Ruby was standing in the shower with the towel wrapped around her torso while her cloak and dress were sitting in the dirty clothes hamper.
"Look it's not a big deal Yang. I probably won't even accept it. Now let me shower-"
"What do you mean you won't accept it? Rubes, I know you're a bit under the average age-"
I'm 2 years younger than everyone else who'd be attending. That's 2 years of training that I'll be being them. I don't know why Ozpin offered me a spot, but it's obvious that he made a mistake."
Ruby, I know you may think you're not ready for this but I know you are. Do you think Dad, me and uncle Qrow would let you use a massive Scythe-sniper rifle if we don't think you could handle yourself? Have done faith in yourself, we do. And look, it's okay if you don't want to go, but just remember… I'll always be there for you. That's what family is for. Plus if you go I'll be there too, so it's not like you'd be doing it alone. Now I'll let you get cleaned up. All I ask is that you really think your choice through, ok?" With that Yang left Ruby and closed the door.
Before it fully shut, she added one last statement.
"I love ya Rubes. You got this."
It's a good thing that Ruby was standing in the shower as it seemed like the shower head was leaking. Yep, definitely that.
Crawling under the bed covers in her Beowolf PJs, the second her eyes closed and she felt the pillow against her head, Naruto opened his eyes.
Bringing his hand up to his right eye, he wiped the tear away and focused on the cavern he was in. Standing up, he worked his stiff muscles beneath his yellow robes. Besides his longsleeved robe was a dark red cloak with a silver rose/spiral hybrid clasp keeping it shut.
The nearest wall was nearly a kilometre away and covered in an innumerable number of clones scrawling hundreds of minute sealing runes. Everywhere he'd look was covered in clones working on writing, while the spots that weren't covered in clones appeared illegible from the sheer number of symbols covering them.
Upon awakening, dozens of clones dispersed themselves. Allowing the rush of memories to acclimate, he knelt on the ground as four clones placed unrolled scrolls in front of him.
As the last seal was made, Naruto pushed chakra through the papers and watched as the tens of Square kilometres crawled across the walls and poured into the scrolls.
Billions on billions of symbols flowed from the wall onto the parchments. Every second the speed increased until they were mere blurred streaks.
Once the last symbol entered the scrolls, they snapped shut. As they did the four clones picked up the scroll nearest to them and blurred away, leaving Naruto alone.
Centring himself, fire-like liquid chakra poured from his every tenketsu. Forming a dense cloak of orange flames around himself. His whisker marks darkened and his hair lengthened into a crown-like array above his head. Lastly, his pupils morphed into vertical slits with horizontal bars in the middle.
"Let's do this."
With that, Naruto vanished from the cavern. The only hint that he was there was a small inkblot on the ground.
Sorry for the delay between updates, uni's a bitch. Also 2 questions, I'd like if you'd kindly answer.
1. If I released an original novel, would you buy it?
2. If I started streaming would you watch it?
Feel free to say no, just wondering.
Thanks for reading and have a great day and night.
