An older than canon Ash Ketchum sets out on his journey to become a Pokemon Master. During his travels he discovers a mysterious Comet that really changes him. After the Comet he continues and while journeying meets many friends, enemies, and rivals along the way. Watch as the story unfolds. Discontinued due to boredom.

3. Chapter 3: Traveling Through Enemies

Chapter 3: Traveling Through Enemies.

Ash, Brock, and Pikachu were making their way towards Mt. Moon, their obstacle to get to Cerulean City.

"Thunder Shock!" Ash called.

"Pika chu!" Pikachu exclaimed.

That Thunder Shock ended up fainting the opposed Pokemon.

"Nidoran (Female) No!" The person yelled.

"Well nice seeing you Harold (This person is not important so don't expect him to make another appearance)" Ash said while shaking the Boy's hand.

"Yeah goodbye" Harold said before making his way to the nearest Pokemon Center.

"Alright, let's go you guys" Ash said, while waving his hand forward to Mt. Moon.

"Maybe we should stop and rest for a bit Ash" Brock advised.

"Yeah, it would be nice for all of us" Ash said. "Well then let's stop, rest, and eat for now."

"Right" Brock said before gathering all his cooking instruments near the crew and fixing up some food for all of them.

"Come on out you guys" Ash said while tossing all his PokeBalls to the sky and releasing his party.

Pidgeotto, Spearow, Nidoran, Beedrill, and Butterfree all came out of their PokeBalls to join in on the lunch.

After finishing, the Pokémon all went back to their PokeBalls (Except for Pikachu of course) and waited to be let out again.

"Alright, let's go now" Ash said.

Brock nodded in agreement and then both went through the opening of Mt. Moon to continue their trek to Celadon City.

(Inside of Mt. Moon)

"Pikachu, Thunder Shock!" Ash commanded.

"Pika Chu!" Pikachu shouted as he zapped a wild Zubat.

"Zu Bat!" Zubat shouted as he fell to the floor in pain.

"PokeBall go!" Ash shouted as he threw the ball at Zubat.

After Three shakes, the Zubat was caught and then, the PokeBall perished.

"Have fun with Professor Oak Zubat" Ash said while scratching his forehead.

"Let's move on Ash, come on" Brock said while motioning for Ash to follow him.

"Gotcha Brock" Ash said while following the guy.

After walking through the Mountain a bit, they ran into a Duo of Trainers.

"When Two Trainers meet, it's a battle, but in this case, it's a Double Battle" One of the Trainers said.

"You're on!" Ash and Brock said together.

"Go Nidoran!" Ash sent out.

"Geodude!" Brock called.

"Clefairy/Jigglypuff!" The Duo of Trainers called out.

"Nido!"

"Geodude!"

"Clefairy."

"Puff."

"Jigglypuff, Round!" One of the Trainers instructed.

And so Jigglypuff ran up to Geodude, ready to deliver the hit.

"Geodude, Rock Throw!" Brock called.

After this call was made, right as Jigglypuff was rushing at Geodude, it ran right into a direct Rock Throw. This threw them back a long way, but they were still able to fight.

"Jigglypuff!" One of the Trainers yelled in alarm as Jigglypuff was launched back.

"Jiggly" Jigglypuff groaned as it got back up and got ready to keep fighting.

"Nidoran, Poison Sting again!" Ash called.

And so with a growl, Nidoran delivered and landed a Fourth Poison Sting.

"Clefairy" Clefairy said in exhaustion as his Eyes turned to swirls.

"Clefairy no!" One of the Trainers yelled in disbelief.

"We'll now that Clefairy is unable to continue it's all on you Brock" Ash said as he turned to his Friend.

"Gotcha Ash" Brock said as he turned to look at his own opponent. "Alright, Geodude, use Take Down!"

Geo Dude" Geodude yelled as he slammed himself into Jigglypuff with everything he had.

"Jiggly" Jigglypuff said in exhaustion as his Eyes turned to swirls.

"No!" The summoner of Jigglypuff yelled in defeat.

"Alright!" Ash and Brock cheered.

As Brock and Ash were cheering though, Nidoran started glowing and then stopped glowing over and over again.

"He's evolving" Ash softly said in shock.

And after just a few more seconds, Nidoran turned into Nidorino.

"Nido" Were Nidorino's First words.

"Alright, nice Nidorino!" Ash loudly cheered.

"Nido" Nidorino shouted while running over to Naruto and tackling him to the ground for a hug.

"Yeah it's good to meet you too Nidorino" Ash said in happiness.

After a bit more of meeting a new Friend, the Two stopped and Nidorino was sent back into his Ball, but not before Ash said

"See you soon Nidorino."

"Nido" Nidorino said with a smile as he was sent into his Ball.

Once the Nidorino was sent back into his Ball, Ash looked at Brock and said

"We should keep advancing."

"Of course" Brock replied before retracting Geodude and walking away along with Ash.

As they were walking through Mt Moon, Ash and Brock spotted both a Clefairy and a Jigglypuff.

"You've got this Ash" Brock told him.

"Right, come on out, Nidorino and Spearow!" Ash announced.

"Nido!"

"Spearow!"

"Nidorino, and Spearow, use Fury Attack!" Ash ordered.

Both landed Five hits on both of the Pokémon (Nidorino hit Jigglypuff and Spearow hit Clefairy) and immediately after this, both tried to use Copycat.

Both Nidorino and Spearow dodged this move, as commanded by Ash, and then showed them a proper Fury Attack again.

Both Jigglypuff and Clefairy were down for the count and that's when Ash threw a PokeBall at each of them.

The Ball shook Three times before eventually stopping, having caught the Two.

After Ash caught both and then lifted the Balls, he happily raised both above his head with One Arm each and said

"We got Jigglypuff and Clefairy!"

Nidorino and Spearow cheered and that's when Spearow started glowing.

"Another evolution? Awesome!" Ash shouted in excitement.

Once the glowing stopped and the evolution was seen, all they could hear was

"Fear!"

"Awesome, a Fearow!" Ash happily exclaimed. "Oh that's right I didn't register Fearow or Nidorino into the PokeDex."

After doing just that and putting the Pokédex away, Ash turned to Brock and asked him

"Hey Brock, do you know what happens to Pokémon inside a PokeBall?"

Brock simply kept walking, but turned to his Friend and told him.

"Open One of your empty PokeBalls."

Ash of course brought out an empty PokeBall and opened it, all he could say was

"Aww."

Because inside that PokeBall was an entire room. The room consisted of a Bed, TV, Photo of Ash, a Punching Bag, and Table.

Ash closed the Ball and that's when Brock told Ash

"Oh, but it's not like that when you throw it to catch a Pokémon."

"Really?" Ash confusingly asked.

"Yeah, it looks like that before and after catching a Pokémon but not during catching a Pokémon. Instead the entire Ball changes to just a circular room for when you're trapping the Pokémon, therefore giving you a better chance at catching t" Brock explained.

"That's nice" Ash said as the Two continued walking.

Eventually after defeating more and more Trainers that the Two ran into, Ash and Brock ended up seeing an entire group of Clefairies.

"Oh, they all seem to be gathering together don't they?" Ash whispered.

"Yeah, and I don't know why" Brock replied in a whisper.

After adjusting their Eyes to where the Clefairies were, they noticed

"Moon Stones?" Both said in confusion.

All the Clefairies and Jigglypuffs turned to the sound they heard (They heard the sound because it wasn't a whisper and it echoed) and saw Ash, Brock, and Pikachu.

"Jiggly!"

"Clefairy!"

These were the only sounds that could be heard due to those Pokémon shielding their Moon Stones from the Trio.

Ash simply waved his hands up and said

"Relax, we aren't interested in your Moon Stones."

The Pokémon didn't believe him however and kept their guard up.

"Come on guys, let's go around them" Ash told Pikachu and Brock.

"Gotcha" Brock replied.

"Pika" Pikachu responded.

And so they were doing just that but ended up being blocked off by familiar faces.

After One long entrance speech, Naruto and Brock both shouted

"Team Rocket!"

"You bet it is twerp and we're here for those Moon Stones and Pokémon!" Jessie yelled.

"Not if we have anything to say about it!" Brock exclaimed. "Go Onix!"

"Roar!"

"Ash you help the Pokémon retreat, I'll deal with Team Rocket!" Brock proposed .

"Gotcha!" Ash said before doing as Brock proposed.

"Now you deal with me!" Brock yelled at Team Rocket.

"Well fine, since you're so confident!" Jessie and James yelled in unison before showing off their robot (Their robot was a giant Vacuum to suck up all the Moon Stones and Pokémon).

"Bring it on! Onix, Rock Throw!"

"Roar!"

The Vacuum just started trying to suck in the giant Rock Snake.

Due to how heavy the Rock Snake was though, it didn't budge and landed the Rock Throw on the Vacuum.

The Vacuum ended up having a shattered piece after this hit landed (The attack shattered the handle of the giant Vacuum). But the Vacuum was still good enough to keep up the suction and did.

Brock's Onix still wasn't budging and that's when Brock ordered him to use

"Dragon Breath!"The attack made contact with an engine and managed to shut the machine down a bit.

"Just a little more" Brock whispered to himself.

(With Ash)

Ash and Pikachu were all guiding the Clefairies and Jigglypuffs out of the Mountain.

Ash turned to look at the Pokémon and told them all

"Stay here you guys, and leave everything to me and Brock!"

The Clefairies and Jigglypuffs all built a deep amount of respect for Ash and Brock after hearing those words and chose to trust them, with a nod of their heads in order to let Ash know.

And after this was done, Ash and Pikachu began racing to get to Brock as quickly as possible.

"We've gotta pick up the speed Pikachu!" Ash told Pikachu in worry.

"Pika Pi!" Pikachu exclaimed in desperation while keeping up his pace into the Mountain.

(Back With Brock)

Brock was using both Onix and Geodude against Jessie and James. Meanwhile, in the background, the mangled and shattered remains of the Vacuum Machine could be seen as the Three were battling.

"Onix, use Dragon Breath on Ekans! Geodude, use Rock Throw on Koffing!" Brock commanded.

"Koffing, use Sludge on Geodude!" James called.

"Ekans, use Bite on Onix!" Jessie ordered.

Koffing and Geodude ended up clashing attacks.

After a bit however, the attacks cancelled each other out.

As for Ekans and Onix however, Ekans right into the Dragon Breath attack by Onix, this direct hit ended up knocking out Ekans in only One shot without Ekans being able to land his own.

"Ekans no!" Jessie screamed in disbelief.

"Alright Onix!" Brock shouted in approval.

Meanwhile, Geodude and Koffing were just waiting to actually battle.

"Now Geodude use Take Down!" Brock called out.

Geodude then began rushing at Koffing and that's when James shouted

"Koffing, Poison Gas!" This ended up sending by a gas made of pure Poison directly into the eyes of Geodude.

This ended up not only poisoning Geodude but also temporarily blinding him and thus making him lose accuracy (If it wasn't clear enough, he was poisoned and got an Accuracy drop).

"Geodude stand your ground and use Headbutt!" Brock ordered.

Geodude indeed stood his ground and ran at Koffing head-first. But he missed.

"Now Koffing, Assurance!" James shouted.

The attack hit the Left side of Geodude, which pushed him back a bit.

"Damn... Geodude, Take Down again!" Was Brock's response.

Geodude tried but ended up hurting himself by running into a boulder.

"Geo" Geodude exhaustedly let out.

'Damn it, Geodude is too tired to keep taking these hits and it seems as if the Poison is taking its toll on his body too' Brock angrily thought.

Geodude was panting heavily and right as Brock was about to shout a command, James shouted

"End it now, Sludge!"

The attack was indeed the ending, as it knocked Geodude down and out.

"No! Geodude return!" Brock then retracted Geodude back into his PokeBall. "It's all on you Onix!"

"Roar!"

"Now use Tackle!" Brock commanded.

Onix did just this and made impact on Koffing.

"Sludge Koffing!" James yelled.

"Kof!"

And then a shot of Sludge was fired from the mouth of Koffing.

"Roar!" Onix yelled in pain.

'Damn, all my Rock Pokémon ware on the physical side and so James is hitting us with strong Special Attacks. What do I do?' Brock thought in frustration.

"Koffing, Smokescreen!" James announced.

"Oh no!" Brock shouted in worry as the entire battlefield was covered in Smoke.

"Now Koffing, use Sludge repeatedly!" James ordered.

Koffing followed his orders and repeatedly kept firing off gunks of Sluge after gunks of Sludge until Onix met the same fate as Geodude.

"Roar!" Was Onix's final noise before he fell to the floor unconscious.

"Onix no!" Brock exclaimed in defeat while falling to his Knees.

"It's over, now hand over your Pokémon before we make you" James smugly said with his hand out.

Brock knew he'd rather die than give up his Pokémon and was ready to do just that. So with crossed arms, he said

"Never."

"So be it" James said before snapping his fingers, undetectably signaling for Koffing to use Sludge against Brock.

Koffing got ready to do just this and fired off the Sludge.

"Stay away from him!" Yelled a familiar voice to Brock before a certain ball of Lightning zapped the sludge and made it vanish.

"Ash you're here!" Brock shouted in relief.

"And it looks like just in the nick of time" Ash replied with a smirk. "Pikachu, Spark!"

"Pika Chu!" Exclaimed Pikachu as he shocked Koffing with everything he had.

"Kof" Koffing groaned in pain and paralysis.

"Oh no!" James loudly said in worry.

"Now end it with Iron Tail!"

After the command was given, Pikachu hit Koffing in the top of the head and successfully knocked the Poison Pokémon out.

"My turn!" Meowth replied while going out and getting ready to fight himself. "Pikachu, I've been training really hard against Ekans and a Koffing ever since you beat us the Second Time. And now let's see just how much that training has really helped."

(Meowth in this story is the strongest Pokémon of the Trio. He isn't owned by either Jessie or James but trains against Ekans and Koffing and the other Pokémon they will get. And the reason he trains so hard is because since Pikachu is Ash's strongest Pokémon and Meowth is the strongest Pokémon of the Trio, he sees Pikachu as a rival).

"Pika!" Pikachu shouted while getting ready.

"Rrr" were Meowth's last words before bringing out his claws and getting ready to fight.

Pikachu Vs Meowth #1

"Pikachu, Spark!" Ash commanded.

"Pikachu Pi!"

Meowth was indeed struck by this move but did not fall to his back. Instead, he was pushed back far and once he was pushed far enough, he shouted

"Assurance!" And struck Pikachu in the Ribs.

"Pika!" Pikachu screamed in pain as he was sent into the sky but landed on his Feet.

"Pikachu, Now Feint!" Ash ordered.

"Pi Pi Pi!" Pikachu shouted as he rushed at Meowth.

'That's it come closer' Meowth thought before Pikachu was inches away from him.

"Pika!"

"Try this on for size, Foul Play!" Meowth yelled as he interrupted and struck Pikachu in the blind spot (Pikachu's Liver) and sent him back a long way.

"Pika!"

"Pikachu! Rr... Now use Thunder Wave!" Ash commanded.

"Pika Chu!" Pikachu yelled as a wave of electricity was sent at Meowth.

"What the" Mewoth said in confusion as the wave of Ectricity took over his body and paralyzed him.

"Alright, way to go Pikachu! Now we've got him!" Ash happily exclaimed.

Mewoth simply chuckled however, which confused Ash, so he asked Meowth

"What's so funny?"

"Oh nothing, it's just that you actually think that you got me" Meowth responded before using "Rest" and falling asleep, his Paralysis fading along with the damage he sustained.

"What?" Ash said softly in confusion.

"Ash quick, get Pikachu to hit him while he's asleep!" Brock warned.

"Right! Pikachu, Electro Ball!" Ask ordered.

"Pika Pika Pika!"

The ball of Electricity indeed did make contact with Meowth's body, but as soon as it did, the Cat woke up.

"That was nice, but now let's see what you can really do! Cut!" Meowth said loudly.

"Iron Tail!" Ash announced.

"Pika!"

And then the clash between Cut and Iron Tail occurred.

The grunts of resistance between the Two were loud and audible (Meowth was using both Hands and their Claws and Pikachu only had One Tail and was only using that Tail).

"Rrr/Pi" Meowth and Pikachu both grunted.

Eventually, they leapt away from each other and panted for a bit, before eventually rushing each other again with the same moves.

All the many clashes between Cut and Iron Tail were echoing throughout the Mountain.

'What do I do?' Ash wondered worriedly as the clashes were happening right in front of him.

Left Cut from Meowth and Downwards Iron Tail from Pikachu was met in a quick clash.

Right Cut from Meowth and Upwards Iron Tail from Pikachu was met with the same occurrence.

After a bit more of this, they both leapt back and started panting heavily.

Ash was gritting his teeth as this was happening and then he turned his Head. Once he turned his Head, he widened his Eyes. He turned back to the Two Pokémon and shouted

"I got it! Pikachu use Electro Ball on the body of Water over there!" While pointing at his Left side where indeed a body of Water was located.

With a nod, Pikachu jumped high and exclaimed

"Pika Pika Pika! Before sending a Ball of Electricity at the Water.

"What's that supposed to do?" Meowth questioned.

"You'll see. Now Pikachu, Spark!" Ash said.

"Pikachu!"

"Pay Day!" Meowth shouted before hitting Pikachu with lots of force through coins.

"Pikachu !" Pikachu shouted as he powered through the attack and shocked Meowth.

Meowth however, was also seemingly tanking this attack that Pikachu threw at him.

Once Pikachu was done with his attack, Meowth shouted

"Foul Play!" And hit Pikachu with the strong Dark Move.

"Pika Pika" Pikachu groaned in pain while clutching his arm.

On the other side, Meowth was wheezing for air and still staring Pikachu down.

Both were very beat up and didn't look as if they could continue much more, but still kept fighting.

"Foul Play!" Meowth shouted before hitting Pikachu with that strong Dark Type Move again. "Again!"

However, Pikachu was ready this time, because once Meoth got close to him he grabbed the Cat and waited for Ash to give the command before using

"Spark!"

"Pika Chu!"

Pikachu shocked Meowth hard once before listening to his next commands.

"Throw him into the Water!" Ash said.

Pikachu did just this and threw Meowth into the Water.

"Argh!" Were Meowth's screams of agony as his entire body fell into the Electrical Water.

"Now, use Spark on the Water, give it everything you have left Pikachu!" Were Ash's final commands.

"PIKA CHU!" Pikachu screamed from using every last ounce of Power he had left on that last Spark.

After this action was done, he fell to the ground panting heavily.

But then, Meowth could be seen rising from the Water, clearly paralyzed, but strong enough to keep fighting a bit more.

"Cut!" Were Meowth's final orders before hitting Pikachu with everything he had, and knocking him out.

"Pika" were Pikachu's last words before his Eyes turned to swirls.

Winner, Meowth

"No Pikachu!" Ash shouted in worry while rushing over to Pikachu's side.

"Guys, let's go. The twerp has more Pokémon and I don't have enough Power to keep using Rest without risking me losing the match" Meowth told Jessie and James.

Jessie and James nodded and left the Mountain (While carrying Meowth).

Ash and Brock brought out their fainted Pokémon and immediately started to bring them all back to life and healing whatever Injuires they sustained.

After quite a few sprays and revives, all the Pokémon were back to full strength.

"You guys good?" Ash and Brock asked.

All the Pokémon simply smiled and nodded in affirmation.

"Well then we should probably leave now" Brock said.

"Definitely" Ash replied.

Right as they were retracting all their Pokémon (Except Pikachu of course), the Clefairies and Jigglypuffs appeared behind them.

"What's up?" Ash asked as both he and Brock turned around.

All the Clefairies and Jigglypuffs simply presented both Ash and Brock with Two Moonstones One for each of them.

"Oh. Well it would be rude to reject a gift, so thank you" Ash said as he grabbed One of the Moonstones

"Yeah, thank you" Brock said while he too grabbed the last Moonstone.

And so with a bow of appreciation from both Ash, Brock, and the Clefairies and Jigglypuffs, they made their way to the other side of the Mountain.

(Half an Hour Later)

Brock and Ash were both climbing down certain ladders of the Mountain in order to get closer to their destination.

"That's the Second ladder we've gone through Brock" Ash said.

"Yep, it means we're close. There are Three Floors and that was our Second One. So just One more ladder and we're just inches away from Celadon City" Brock explained.

Right as Brock said this, the Trio ran into a Chansey.

"Time for another Pokémon, wouldn't you say Pikachu?" Ash questioned his partner.

"Pika!" Pikachu loudly replied with a raised hand.

And so Ash brought out a PokeBall and threw it

"Nidorino!" Ash called

"Nido!" Nidorino shouted.

"Poison Jab!" Ash commanded.

"Nido!" Nidorino loudly responded before using the attack on Chansey.

"Chansey" Chansey was very much beat after that first hit made contact but held on and used Take Down.

Nidorino was ordered by Ash to dodge it and after he did, he used the same move again. After the hit connected, Chansey was no longer able to move without wobbling and that's when Ash threw his PokeBall. And after Three shakes, Chansey was caught.

"See you in the future Chansey" Ash softly said before Chansey disappeared.

"Hey Ash" Brock said.

"What?" Ash asked.

"Can't Nidorino evolve with the Moon Stone?" Brock questioned.

"Wait. You're right!" Ash shouted before taking out the Moon Stone and looking Nidorino in the Eyes. "You ready buddy?"

With a simple nod from Nidorino, Ash used the Moonstone. And after just a few seconds, Nidorino revolved into Nidoking.

"Awesome!" Ash exclaimed excitedly.

"Roar!" Nidoking roared as he hugged Ash.

"Good to meet you too Nidoking" Ash said as the Two hugged.

"Hey you Two!" Yelled a mysterious voice.

Both Ash and Brock turned around to see who it belonged to and saw that it was a Hiker Man.

"Who are you?" Brock asked.

"I'm George" the Hiker introduced himself. "Either of you wanna battle?"

"Sure, I'll do it" Brock said.

"Nah, let me. That way I can test out Nidoking's Power" Ash reasoned.

"Alright, let em have it" Brock told Ash.

"Alright, go Nidoking" Ash told Nidoking.

With a simple nod Nidoking stepped into the battlefield.

"Go Graveler!" The Hiker announced.

"Graveler!"

"Roar!" Nidoking Roared.

Ash used his Pokédex to register Nidoking into it and after doing so said

"Well would you look at that, looks like you learned some new moves." Then after putting the Pokédex away he got ready to start.

"Ash Ketchum Vs Hiker George, One on One, begin!" Brock announced.

"Graveler, Buldoze!" George called.

"Nidoking, Double Kick!" Ash ordered.

The attacks clashed but ended quicker than they started. After both attacks collided, Nidoking quickly and clearly gained the upper hand. It sent Graveler back right after dealing super effective damage to it.

"Graveler, Rollout!" George shouted.

"Nidoking, Earth Power!" Ash called.

As soon as Earth Power was used, it landed before Rollout managed to make contact.

"Hm, Hammer Arm!" George loudly said.

"Sluge Wave!" Ash shouted.

Once again, Nidoking's attack landed before Graveler's. After the hit connected, Graveler was panting heavily but Nidoking was not breaking so much as a sweat.

"Put everything you've got left into Mega Punch!" George said finally.

"Alright Nidoking, use your last move and show us just how strong you really are, Megahorn!" Ash announced.

Nidoking's Horn indeed made contact with Graveler's Fist and easily overpowered and defeated the Graveler.

"Damn" George said in Defeat.

"Graveler is unable to battle, Nidoking wins, which means the victor is Ash" Brock announced.

"Alright!" Ash shouted with his hand raised.

"Rr" Nidoking said with a nod before clapping hands with his Trainer.

After this Ash and the Hiker shook hands before parting ways. After a bit more walking through the Mountain, Ash and Brock came across the final ladder and went down said ladder.

"Now we just have to find the opening until we leave this Mountain" Brock told Ash.

Ash simply nodded and both were making their way to the destined opening. After a bit they found it and went through it.

(Outside of Mt. Moon)

Ash and Brock were both stretching along with Pikachu after finally making it out that Mountain.

"Let's stay at a Pokémon Center for the Night" Ash told Brock.

"Yeah, that's our best bet especially after that battle with Team Rocket" Brock replied before both made it to a Pokémon Center, got their Pokémon healed, and then slept for the Night.

(The Next Day)

Ash and Brock woke up and after stretching, made it outside and began talking.

"Aright, now let's make our way to the Gym" Ash said.

"Actually, I'm gonna go into different parts of the City" Brock said before stretching with a grin on his face.

"Why?" Ash asked.

"My own reasons" Brock replied before taking off quickly.

Ash simply huffed and puffed, then walked over to the Gym.

(Inside the Cerulean City Gym)

Ash was making his way through the Gym and ended up passing through a certain door. After passing it though, he he heard people clapping and got curious as to why people were clapping. His curiosity got the best of him and he checked out what it was by peeking through the door.

'Oh, Three Divers are doing what they're best at' Ash thought.

"It's you" said a familiar voice that brought Ash out of his train of thought and made him look toward the source of the voice.

"Oh, you're the Orange Haired Girl I met during the attack by the Flock of Spearow" Ash said.

"Yeah and the name's Misty" the Girl said.

"Right, anyways do you know where the Gym Leader is? I'm trying to earn my Second Badge and settle the score with a certain someone" Ash asked.

Misty simply pointed at the door that Ash was looking through. Once he looked he saw that she was pointing at Three Girls.

"You mean those Three divers are the Gym Leaders?" Ash queried.

"Yeah, we are" One of the Girls which had Blue Hair said.

"I'm Daisy" Introduced the One with Blonde Hair.

"I'm Lily" introduced the One with Pink Hair.

"I'm Violet" said the One with Blue Hair.

"Well then my name is Ash. And I was hoping to take on this Gym and win my Second Badge" Ash introduced.

"Well we don't really feel like fighting" said Violet.

"We already lost twice and don't wanna lose again" Lily said.

"Then how will I earn my Badge" Ash asked.

"Just take it" said Daisy while holding out the Gym Badge.

"We can't take this. I guess I'll just wait till we make it to the other Gym and win that One. You good with that Buddy?" Ash asked Pikachu.

"Pikachu" Pikachu shouted with a raised thumb.

"Well with that outta the way, see you guys later maybe" Ash said with a wave before making his way to the door.

"Wait!" Misty shouted.

Ash turned around and saw Misty running at him.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"If you don't want your badge that way, then fight me" Misty said with a thumb pointing at her Head.

"Well I would accept, if you were One of the Three" Ash told Misty.

"She's our Little Sister" Daisy said. "And she is actually pretty strong."

"Well since she is at least One of the Sisters and is also strong, sure, why not?"

With that being said, the Two made their way to the Cerulean Gym Battlefield. Once they made it to both side of the field, Daisy announced

"This will be a Two on Two match between the Challenger, Ash from Pallet Town and Misty the film in for the Cerulean City Gym. Begin!"

"Pikachu, I choose you!" Ash called.

"Pika!" Pikachu shouted as he jumped to the battlefield.

(Pikachu is willing to fight in this story because he and Ash never actually became friends with Misty).

"Go Staryu!" Misty called.

"Pikachu, Spark!" Ash called.

Pikachu indeed started charging up this attack and then dove at the enemy.

"Staryu, Psybeam!" Misty called.

A clash between Special and Physical occurred but Pikachu easily gained the upper hand and One Shot Staryu.

"Rgh" were Staryu's final words before its Red spot started blinking over and over again.

"Staryu is unable to battle, Pikachu wins!" Daisy claimed.

"Come back Staryu, go Starmie!" Misty called as she retracted Staryu and then sent out Starmie.

"Huh" Starmie said as it got ready for battle.

"Starmie, Psychic!" Misty commanded.

"Pikachu, Iron Tail!" Ash called.

The Two different types of attacks once again collided and once again Pikachu easily gained the upper hand.

"Ah!" Starmie groaned as Pikachu's Tail made full contact with Starmie's Red Button.

"Now, Spark!" Ash called.

"Pika Chu!" Pikachu shouted as he rammed even harder than before at Starmie, successfully knocking it out.

"Starmie is unable to battle, Pikachu wins, which means the victor is Ash from Pallet Town!" Daisy called.

With that being said, they both shook hands and afterwards, Ash picked up his Seco d Gym Badge.

"We did it buddy!" Ash shouted in excitement.

"Pika!" Pikachu exclaimed just as excited as his friend.

"I'm sorry to rain on your parade, but it looks like that's exactly what we're doing" James said while hiding behind yet another Vacuum like Robot.

"Team Rocket!" Ash yelled.

After a long entrance, Ash brought out his Nidoking and then told both Nidoking and Pikachu

"Pikachu use Spark and Nidoking use Megahorn!"

Both of them did just this and succeeded in destroying the robot.

"Bring it on you Two!" Ash challenged the Team.

"Alright, go Ekans/Koffing!" Jessie and James announced.

"Nidoking, Earth Power and Pikachu, Spark!" Ash called.

Both Pokémon successfully One Shot both Ekans and Koffing due to their overwhelming Power and that's when Meowth came o hurt and said

"Let me deal with both of them" while bringing out his Claws.

"Nidoking, Double Kick and Pikachu Spark!" Ash announced.

"Take this!" Meowth shouted as he dug underground.

"Rr" Nidoking confusingly let out after striking the ground twice.

"Eat this!" Meowth yelled as the attack made direct and full blown contact (If it wasn't obvious enough, Meowth use Dig).

"Roar" Nidoking groaned in pain.

And once Meowth saw Pikachu, who just started charging at him, he grabbed Nidoking by the sides of his head and made Pikachu's Spark attack hit him square in the horn, knocking the beast down and out.

"Now it's just you and me Pikachu" Meowth said as he once again brought out his Claws.

Meowth Vs Pikachu #2

"Pikachu, Spark!" Ash commanded.

"Pika Chu!" Pikachu exclaimed while showing his attack while charging at Meowth.

"Cut" Meowth shouted while charging at Pikachu with his Claws out.

Both attacks collided, but Pikachu ended up getting the better of this exchange in the end.

"Argh!" Meowth groaned in pain as he was sent back."Foul Play!" Meowth called as he once again charged at Pikachu.

Pikachu just got down to the ground so he was completely defenseless by this random attack from Meowth.

"Pikaa!" Pikachu screamed in pain as he himself was sent back.

"Pikachu!" Ash said in worry. "Use Iron Tail!"

"Chu!" Pikachu let out as his Tail made full contact with Meowth's Charm.

Meowth was sent down to the ground from this move, but he got back up and shouted

"Pay Day!" Before throwing a bunch of coins at Pikachu.

Pikachu avoided the attack thanks to Ash and fired back with

"Electro Ball!"

And struck Meowth right on the Mouth. This attack momentarily paralyzed Meowth but soon wore off until Ash said

"Thunder Wave!" And kept Meowth paralyzed for now.

"This again" Meowth cockily said before using "Rest" and going to sleep.

"Now Pikachu hit him with Spark and give it everything you've got!" Ash announced.

"Pika!" Pikachu said with a nod before using said attack and charging at Meowth. The attack hit Meowth directly and he was still asleep.

"Again!" Ash loudly said.

"Pikachu!" Pikachu shouted as he collided with Meowth once again.

Still Meowth stayed asleep.

"Once more!"

"Pika!"

After this attack, Meowth woke up.

"Now time to bring the pain" Meowth said before bringing out his Claws and shouting "Cut!"

Pikachu was of course ordered to use

"Iron Tail!" And did.

Now a clash between Iron Tail and Cut was once again making itself visible.

"Rgh" Meowth groaned during the struggle.

"Pi" Pikachu grunted in the struggle.

Both pushed back and kept charging at each other with the same move.

Vertical Swing from Pikachu resulted in Meowth avoiding the Iron Tail and trying out a Horizontal Cut at his opponent.

Pikachu avoided it and after both stepped far back, they just kept clashing attacks over and over again while jumping in the air.

Pikachu threw a Verticle Slash and so did Meowth. After that clash both threw a Horizontal Slash which met the same outcome. This kept happening about Twenty more times before both just stepped back and stared each other down.

"Now use Electro Ball!" Ash ordered.

"Pika Pika Pika!" Pikachu chanted before throwing off his Sphere of Electricity.

"Assurance!"Meowth shouted before using said attack.

Pikachu didn't expect Meowth to simply Power through his Sphere and hit him full force on the Stomach.

"Pi!" Pikachu cried out from taking both his own Electro Ball and Assurance.

"How both I end this? With Pay Day!" Meowth mockingly questioned before doing as he said and ending the Match.

Pikachu's Eyes turned to swirls and afterwards, Team Rocket retreated.

"Till we meet again" Meowth said before walking away.

Round 2 Winner, Meowth

Ash ran over to Pikachu's side and quickly ran to the Pokémon Center as fast as he could.

(Pokémon Center)

Ash was now waiting for both his Nidoking and Pikachu to come back completely healthy. And as he was waiting a certain Orange Haired Girl walked through the doors of the Center.

"Hey" said Misty.

"Oh hi" Ash replied.

"I just wanted to see how you were holding up" Misty said.

"I'm fine but Pikachu and Nidoking aren't. That's why I'm so worried" Ash told her.

"Don't worry, Nurse Joy never fails at her Job and I doubt today will be an exception" Misty consoled the Boy.

"I wonder how he'll feel?@ Ash questioned himself out loud.

"He just lost a match against One Pokémon, you can't win forever you know" Misty assured Ash.

"No, it's Two things. One, he lost to that Meowth Yesterday as well and I just wanted for him to be able to avenge that loss, but he ended up losing it in the end. And Two, I wonder if losing to Meowth twice will affect him in wanting to settle the score with Gastly?" Ash told Misty with a question at the end.

"Gastly?" Misty asked.

"You see, me and Pikachu ended up seeing this One Comet passing through our destination this One time. Normally it wouldn't be a big deal, if the Comet wasn't coming right at us that is" Ash started explained before Misty interrupted him.

"What!?" She shouted in question.

Ash nodded and then restarted telling the story from where he left off.

"So the Comet struck us both and it delivered quite a bit of damage to both of us but we didn't have any scars or blood stains. Anyways, afterwards, we began walking through and found a Gastly we noticed right away that it was Shiny and had the Wise Glasses. We challenged it but lost, then after it knocked us both out with One of its moves, it told us that we would have a rematch after me and Pikachu got our Firat Gym Badge and Pikachu was in top top shape. We did just that after getting the Badge and restoring Pikachu and managed to win that time. He told us that we had to settle the score after we got out Second Gym Badge . We always meet at the back of a Pokémon Center to do this, meaning that me and Pikachu always have to train somewhere else before fighting g Gastly. and the thing is, he never stopped training either. So I don't know if Pikachu Losing twice in a row to the same Pokémon will get in the way of his training" Ash ended.

"Well Gastly is part of a Three Stage Evolution. Gastly, the Ghost Poison Type, Haunter, the pure Ghost Type, and Gengar, the Ghost Dark Type" Misty explained.

(I know that the entire Gengar line is Ghost Poison, but since to me at least it makes no sense that all three of them are and not just Gastly, and so I'm making them what I would've had I been asked).

"I know, but neither me or Pikachu are letting it get to us. We wanna beat him, and damn it we will!" Ash claimed with pride.

As soon as Ash said this, both Pikachu and Nidoking came out of the hospital doors (Nidoking was inside his Ball, Pikachu wasn't).

As soon as Pikachu saw Ash, he jumped on his shoulder and snuggled his Face.

"Good to see you too buddy" Ash said while patting Pikachu on the head. "Are you ready to train for Gastly?"

"Pika!" Pikachu shouted with determination and a hand raised up high.

'So I guess my question is answered, he won't let it get to him' Ash thought. "Well then let's get started buddy. Oh wait, before we do that, we should probably find Brock First."

Pikachu and Ash both began giggling g nervously after realizing this and were about to leave the Pokémon Center, before Misty asked them both

"Could I come with you guys?"

"Sure, knowing Brock, it'll take more than just me and Pikachu to find him" Ash replied.

"No, I mean, can I travel with you guys?" Misty corrected.

Ash widened his Eyes and then asked Misty

"Won't your Sisters be worried?"

"Actually, I already asked them and they told me to do whatever makes me happy" Misty genuinely responded.

"Alright, I don't see why not, but we'll have to ask Brock too though. If he says No and I say Yes, then me and him are gonna have to Rock, Paper, Scissors for if you do or don't" Ash explained.

"Ok" Misty said before following Ash out of the Pokémon Center.

(With Jessie, James, and Meowth)

"Come on hit me!" Meowth told his teammates.

"Ekans, Bite!" Jessie called

"Koffing, Sludge!" James ordered.

Meowth smirked and dodged all their hits with low difficulty and knocked them both out with One Hit each.

"Heal them only and let me fight them again" Meowth told both of them.

But they didn't need to, as both evolved due to their training with Meowth.

'Well maybe now they'll actually pose a bigger threat' Meowth thought with a smirk.

"Wait what is that?" Jessie thought before pointing at a certain Pokémon in a bush.

After a bit of shaking, a Lickitung and Bellsprout was revealed.

"Let me deal with these Two" Meowth said while cracking his Paws, then charging at both of them, and knocking them both out with One hit.

"Go PokeBall!" Both James and Jessie shouted in unison.

(Jessie aimed for Lickitung and James aimed for Bellsprout).

After Three shakes, the Pokémon were caught.

"Now let's get this started, One on Four" Meowth said with his arms wide, behind his back, and a cocky smirk.

Jessie and James nodded, knowing that it would be best since not only will their Pokémon get stronger and evolve, but so will Meowth, the strongest Pokémon in the Team that neither own. So both bring out their other Pokémon and start to train with Meowth.

'With Meowth growing as strong as he is, we could depend on him as a last resort on the strongest of foes' Jessie and James thought smartly.

(One Week Later, with Ash)

Ash and Pikachu just made their way to the back of the Pokémon Center and were waiting for their opponent. And after just a few more minutes, it appeared.

"You ready Gastly?" Ash asked.

Gastly nodded and that's when Brock stepped up to the middle of the battlefield and announced

"Pikachu vs Gastly, Round Three, Begin!"

"Pikachu, Agility!" Ash called.

"Pi Pi Pi" Pikachu said as he began cranking up his Speed.

As Pikachu was picking up his Speed, Gastly used Hex.

Pikachu managed to avoid this move through traveling around the Battlefield thanks to Agility. And Ash kept calling the move over and over again until Pikachu's Speed was at its top.

While Pikachu kept increasing his Speed, Misty asked Brock

"Do you have any idea what he's trying to do?"

"I have an idea" Brock replied.

After Pikachu reached his top Speed, he heard a certain demand.

"Pikachu, stay still!" Ash instructed.

Pikachu did as he was told and stood still, then Gastly threw a Dazzling Gleam at Pikachu.

Once the attack was centimeters away from Pikachu, Ash told Pikachu to use

"Iron Tail!"

And so both Pikachu and Gastly clashed hits, Special Vs Physical. The One to gain the upper hand was easily Gastly thanks to the momentum he built up before hand.

But this is what Ash wanted. So with a smirk, Ash said

"Now, Thunder Bolt!"

"Pika, Chu!" Pikachu yelled as he shocked the Gastly really hard.

'Good thing we found that TM in Mt. Moon or else I don't know what I'd have done' Ash thought.

"Oh I see" Misty said impressed. "Very Smart."

'I was right' Brock thought after seeing g Ash's move.

Gastly was visibly hurt and hovered back from the Electric Mouse.

He simply looked at the Mouse before again using Hex but failed again due to Pikachu easily avoiding it with his High Speed.

"Iron Tail!" Ash called.

"Pikachu!"

Pikachu's attack was unable to be stopped and that proved to be a bad move because Gastly used Hypnosis.

"Pi" Pikachu softly said before falling to the ground asleep.

Gastly then used Dream Eater and dealt harsh damage to Pikachu while replenishing his own health.

"Pikachu, no!" Ash yelled in worry. "Get up Pikachu!"

Gastly simply used Dream Eater again, dealt even more harsh damage to Pikachu, and replenished even more of his.

"Get up!" Ash and exclaimed.

"Pi ka chu" Pikachu gasped out.

"Alright Pikachu!" Ash cheered. "Now use ThunderBolt!"

"Pika Chu!" Pikachu exclaimed before zapping Gastly with a strong Lightning Strike.

"Gas" Gastly said casually.

"Pikachu, get outta there!" Ash desperately commanded.

Pikachu managed to jump back and away from Gastly, but this gave Gastly the chance to land a Dazzling Gleam on Pikachu.

"Pika!"

"Pikachu, while you're in the Air, use Thunder Wave!" Ash commanded.

Pikachu did just this and Paralyzed Gastly. And unlike Meowth, Gastly doesn't have a means to get rid of Paralysis.

"Gas" Gastly said with a bit of a struggle.

"Now Thunder Bolt!"

"Pika Chu!"

"Gas!"

After this attack, Gastly still looked relatively fine compared to Pikachu.

"It seems like Pikachu is powerless against Gastly" Misty said.

"Yeah, but judging by how much damage Pikachu has taken, I'd say that what you just said in particular isn't what's bothering Ash and Pikachu so much" Brock told Misty.

'Damn, what should I do in order for Pikachu to hold out?' Ash thought.

"What do you mean Brock?" Misty asked.

"Well think about it, Ash has been against me before. When he was up against me, his Pikachu couldn't deal much damage to Onix either, it was the same case as with Gastly which wasn't what was bothering him. He wasn't bothered by it because he knew that he was at least dealing some damage. So he just had to be smart about what to do in order to land those weak hits that would eventually beat me, or find a weakness. He stuck with the weakness and beat me that way. So knowing that he's been through this before, I'd say what's bothering him so much isn't that he's dealing so little damage, it's that he doesn't have enough time before Pikachu falls to find the right opening or weakness against Gastly" Brock explained.

"Oh, I didn't know" Misty said in shock at what Brock was telling her.

'What could be his Typeless weakness? Onix's Typeless weakness was the horn, but Gastly doesn't have One. What the hell could be his weakness!' Ash inwardly debated.

"Gas!" Gastly yelled as he launched a Dazzling Gleam at Pikachu.

"Pikachu, Thunder Bolt!" Ash commanded.

"Pika Chu!"

Both attacks collided with each other and a large struggle against the Two attack started taking place.

(Think of this as like a KI battle from Dragon Ball, Z, Super, etc)

Pikachu and Gastly were giving it everything they had but were still not able to gain the advantage.

"Oh no, from how this is looking, the one who wins this exchange will win it all" Misty said in panic.

"I'd say you're right" Brock replied. "I guess Ash finally came to grips that Gastly doesn't have a Weakness in a part of his body."

"Pikachu, more Power!" Ash shouted.

"PIKA!" Pikachu yelled out, cranking up his Power.

"Gas!" Gastly exclaimed cranking up his own Power.

The back of the Pokémon Center was flashing both Pink and Yellow from the Two Pokémon's attacks.

Ash was panicking and didn't know what to do.

'Come on, work Brain work! If Gastly doesn't have a weakness in his Body, then what can I do!?' Ash was inwardly reasoning.

After thinking this, Gastly started to overpower the Thunder Bolt from Pikachu.

"Oh no" Misty whispered in worry for Pikachu.

"Ash better think of something quick, because if he doesn't, then it's over with Pikachu" Brock said.

'This is to be expected when a regular Gastly is naturally stronger than regular Pikachu. But neither of the Ones fighting right now are natural. They're both stronger than average, and' Ash thought but paused. "I believe in you Pikachu!"

"Pika!" Pikachu shouted in shock as the blasts were Centimeters away from his Body.

Pikachu then had a glow in his Eyes, looking as if a Fire just lit up in them, and then he exclaimed harder than before.

PIIKKAA CHUUUU!" And then immediately after this, a blast stronger than any of the other Ones he let out, revealed itself.

Pikachu then easily and quickly over powered Gastly and struck the Ghost directly with both his Thunder Bolt and Gastly's Dazzling Gleam.

"Gas!" Were Gastly's final words before getting struck by the powerful attacks.

Once those Attacks connected, a huge cloud of smoke covered the entire back of the Pokémon Center.

"What the!?" Both Brock and Misty shouted in unison.

Pikachu landed on his Feet and now they all just waited for the smoke to disappear.

Once the smoke dissipated the squad saw something that shocked them to the core.

Standing in Gastly's position was no longer Gastly, it was a Haunter. A Haunter with a Blue Mouth.

"Haunt" Haunter said before charging at Pikachu with a cocked Fist.

"Pikachu, Iron Tail!" Ash called.

The fresh Pikachu dove at Haunter with a hard Iron Tail. After this clash they just kept exchanging those same attacks over and over again as if they were in a Sword fight.

"Thanks to Ash's words of encouragement, Pikachu has tricked his Body into feeling strong and fresh" Misty said.

"Pikachu tricked his Body into feeling fresh, but his power actually increased" Brock replied.

"What do you mean Brock?" Misty asked.

"Well you see, Pikachu was able to use Ash's words of encouragement as a means to trick his body into believing that he's absolutely fine. His Power though, thanks to once again, Ash's words, got him to use everything he had and more into that attack. Once the attack connected with Gastly/Haunter, he just had an adrenaline rush that kicked up everything inside of him" Brock detailed.

"Wow" Misty said in awe at what she just learned.

"However, it seems that not only is Haunter in perfect condition, but the Paralysis he went through from Pikachu's Thunder Bolt has faded away" Brock added with his Arms crossed.

"Oh no" Misty said while covering her Mouth with her Hands. 'Stay strong Pikachu."

Left Slash, blocked by a Left Punch. Right Punch, blocked by a Downward Slash. This is essentially how the battle between Haunter and Pikachu was going for the next couple of Minutes during the Battle.

Eventually though, they both pulled back and stared each other Eye to Eye.

"Pikachu, Thunder Bolt!" Ash called.

Pikachu withdrew the Iron Tail and charged up for his Thunder Bolt. Haunter however, decided to end it as quickly as possible. So he charged at Pikachu with a Move ready. Once he was inches away from the Yellow Mouse, he used Shadow Punch."Haunt!" Haunter shouted before releasing his attack.

The attack made contact with Pikachu's Face, but Pikachu stood still and didn't stop charging his attack.

Haunter was confused with as to how Pikachu didn't flinch or so much as move an inch after the Shadow Punch made contact.

"Pika" Pikachu growled as he continued to charge up his Move.

Haunter didn't know what to do and started releasing Shadow Punch after Shadow Punch."Pikachu, don't let the pain get to you, stay strong and keep steady" Ash said in a soft voice.

Pikachu didn't nod and instead just continued charging his Attack.

Ash knew why Pikachu didn't nod so he didn't think much of it and just kept hoping that Pikachu would hold out.

After releasing his Fifteenth Shadow Punch, Haunter retreated and decided to use his own Special Move.

"Haunter!" Haunter shouted before releasing his Dazzling Gleam.

"Now!" Ash shouted at Pikachu.

"PIKACHU!" Pikachu screamed, giving more than he had into this last attack.

The attacks collided again, but as soon as they did, Thunder Bolt prevailed over Dazzling Gleam thanks to the large Power difference from the Charging of Thunder Bolt.

"Haunt!" Haunter cried out as he was hit full force from the Bolt of strong Lightning.

The impact created another huge cloud of smoke to appear in the Stadium and after the smoke settled, Pikachu could be seen standing tall and Haunter could be seen on the Ground with swirls for Eyes.

"Haunter is unable to Battle, Pikachu wins, which means the victor is Ash" Brock called.

"Yeah, you did it Pikachu!" Ash loudly cheered, happy that he and Pikachu managed to settle the score with Gastly who is now Haunter.

"Pika!" Pikachu shouted in glee that he beat One of his own Rivals.

"Meowth is next, aren't I right Pikachu?" Ash asked.

"Pi!" Pikachu said loudly with a nod and smile.

It was at that moment that Haunter got back up and hovered over to Ash and Pikachu.

"What's up?" Ash queried before Haunter took One of Ash's PokeBalls and held it out in front of the Thirteen Year Old. "You wanna join us?"

Haunter simply nodded and after he did, so did Ash. Ash took the PokeBall, said

"Welcome to the Team Haunter," and then the Haunter went inside the PokeBall by touching the center of the PokeBall himself with ash still holding onto it.

After Three shakes, Haunter was caught.

"Alright, I got a Haunter!" Ash loudly said in excitement.

"Pika!" Pikachu exclaimed in excitement.

Once the PokeBall vanished, Ash knew what to do.

(Half an Hour Later)

Ash and co we're getting out of the Pokémon Center and that's when Ash brought out a Ball and said

"Come out buddy" and then Haunter appeared.

"Haunt" Haunter said calmly.

"Good thing I made sure you and Pikachu got all the treatment you Two needed" Ash said.

Haunter stuck out his Hand and so Ash took the Hand and then they shook Hands.

"Ash?" Asked a familiar voice.

"Jessica" Ash said after turning to see the other Trainer who got her Starter Pokémon the same time he did.

"Who's Jessica?" Misty asked curiously.

"She One of the Two other Trainers that got a Starter at the same time as Ash" Brock told her.

"So you want a Battle huh?" Ash asked.

"Yeah, I heard about your match against Gary in the Forrest and I wanna Battle both of you in order to see just how strong I've gotten. And since you're the First One I ran into, let's go" Jessica explained.

"Alright" Ash said before they all once again made their way to the back of the Pokémon Center for another Battle.

"Ready?" Ash questioned with a PokeBall at hand

"You bet" Jessica said with a PokeBall at hand herself.

"I choose you!" Both Ash and Jessica shouted before their Balls hit the ground and revealed their Pokémon.
