I have been planning on continuing this fanfic but I'm still trying to figure out the story, I plan on actually releasing a new chapter semi regularly but I do have my prelims coming up soon so I'm not going to make any promises.

I didn't plan on making him say All Might's catchphrase every time, I just thought it would be a good way for Ben to tell everyone that he would protect them.

Chapter 2 - Don't Give Up Just Jet

Mina walked into her living room and saw her dad watching TV "Another vigilante story" she said with her dad nodding in response.

"Civilians are getting antsy now that All Might's retired" he replied in a deep tone as he scratched his cut horns. "The number of mutation quirked vigilantes alone has gone up 5% in Musutafu" he turned to Mina while cracking his neck "Are you moving in today?" he said with a smile.

"Yeah" she said exhausted as she put some toast into toaster and walked up to her room to get changed, her hair was somehow messier than normal but she still managed to get ready before she had to leave. She jumped down the stairs and ran towards her dad giving him a hug, "I'll miss you dad" she said sitting in his arms.

"I'll miss you to sweetie" he said as he messed with her hair, "Now move or you'll get the worst room" he said as he pushed her into the hall.

"Ok Ok, I'm going" she said shutting the door behind her and running to school.

"Alright, time for work" Ashido's dad said as he pulled out his phone and dialled a number "Chief Tsuragamae it's officer Ashido, I've got a possible development on the hourglass case" he said as he switched off the TV.

"You'll have to make it quick, I offered to do a personal check of UA's defence system in 5 minutes" A voice came from the phone along with the sound of a moving vehicle.

"I've looked over the criminal database and there's not a single match to anybody in the the vigilante group" He explained not wasting time on the important matter.

"So they're all newbies then, what do the medical databases say?" the phone buzzed back.

"We assume they are sir, as for the medical records, the government has been slow to action since their still fixing the damages" Ashido said calmly.

"I see, please report back to me once you find any noteworthy information" Tsuragamae said reaching to end the call.

"Sir wait there's one more thing I'd like to mention, I believe we should extend our search range to transformation quirks" Ashido continue trying to get a final word in.

"... Not yet, it's too early to expand the search, stick with the current precautions, I'll contact you if I change my mind" the chief finished before hanging up.

Ashido sighed as he put on his jacket and banged his head against the door frame "Damn horn, I'd of shave you down to my scalp if you didn't give me a bald spot"

he said before locking the door and going on patrol.

With Ben:

Ben turned the corner and instantly knew who it was "VILGAX?!" he yelled as he ran down the empty street towards him.

"Ah Ben Tennyson, long time no see" Vilgax said as he stood there in line at a corner shop.

"Cut the chit-chat and tell me why you're trying to conquer Earth again" Ben said as he lifted the Omnitrix up to his hand.

"Conquer? No I'm just here to try out these new donuts" He said as he waved a bunch of tentacle covered donuts in front of him.

"What ew, no that's gross, besides doesn't that count as cannibali-" He was cut off as he heard screams coming from the donuts, he turned his head to face to them and saw the familiar faces of Rook, Gwen and Grandpa Max.

"Wwwwhhyyyy did yoouu abandon usss Beeeeen? Why?" he heard them moan as they slowly attached themselves to Ben's face.

Ben sat up in a cold sweat "What a stupid dream" he nervously laughed to himself with bags under his eyes.

He stood up and put on the black hoodie that he had been wearing after his shirt ripped "Day 11 of looking for a job, maybe sleeping would help my chances" Ben said looking into his eyes with a broken mirror.

He walked out if the room with a defeated look on his face. He walked down the street as he felt eyes hit the back of his head, he was surprised that there where so many people staring at him even though he was in the middle of a sea of people, he just assumed it was because he was a foreigner and moved along.

He made his way to the library and sat down at a computer. He decided that every day or two he would continue to research what happened to the Plumbers, sadly he hasn't been able to find anything.

"Ben Tennyson" he said to himself as he typed his name into the search bar, for some reason he hadn't tried to search his name yet but in fairness insomnia doesn't really put you in a rational headspace. His eyes widened as he saw the first result "Ben 10 is an American animated series created by Argit Hemingw-" Ben was pissed, of course something like this would happen, Argit would take any chance he got to make a profit "What the hell is this, how did he even get the license for this did my fans really forget about me that fast, he didn't even get the aliens right, I mean who the hell is Slapback" he grumbled.

"No, this is a start, if Argit was able to make a TV show then aliens where still about, or he faked having a quirk" Ben said trying to piece things together.

"I've got about an hour left before the interview, I should probably get something to eat" He stood up almost tripping in exhaustion as he walked out of the library. Ben started walking towards the nearest fast food restaurant and passed by a pink skinned girl in a school uniform.

"Hey, cool watch" she said smiling at him "Where'd you get it?" she asked staring at Ben with a smile on her face.

"Spac- I mean... Walmart" Ben said like he could almost feel his brain rotting away the longer he stayed awake. He continued to make eye contact with the girl who seemed a bit thrown off by his response "Well, bye" he said leaving too tired to care about the rudeness of his statement.

"Oh ok, bye I guess" he barely managed to make out her saying as he heard the girl walk away in the other direction.

Ben made his way into the building and stood in line to order. When he made it to the counter he made eye contact with the employee, dead eyes met dead eyes. "Hi, welcome to McDonalds, how may I take your order?" the employee said in a cheerful tone.

"Yeah, can I get a large fries and a Coke please?" Ben said yawning halfway through his sentence.

"Is Bepsi ok?" the employee asked him.

"What did you say?" Ben said thinking he was finally hallucinating.

"Is Pepsi ok?" the employee replied with a straight face.

"Eh- yeah it is, oh and can you put chili on the fries?" Ben said relived he wasn't losing his mind.

"Yes sir, that'll be ¥430, would you like to pay with cash or car-" They said before they where interrupted by the sound of the door being kicked in.

"EVERYBODY PUT HEADS TO THE GROUND!" said a man with pale scaly skin "If anybody moves I'll blow they're brains out!" they continued as everyone but Ben dropped to the floor.

"Are you serious, what kind of villain robs a McDonalds" Ben laughed in as his eyes sagged "Don't you have superpowers, why are you robbing a McDonalds instead of a bank or something, or at the very least a clothes store" he continued with a grin on his face.

"Are you trying to get yourself killed" the robber said as he pointed his gun at Ben "Cause if you want to live I suggest you get your ass on the floor".

"Ok geez I'm sorry, you try to give a villain some advice and they just point a gun at you" Ben continued putting his hand up in fake surrender. The villain walked over to Ben and hit him in the stomach him with the stock of his gun.

"Do you think you're smart kid, plan on playing hero, cause if you do I hope you plan to go to jail with me" he laughed as he pushed his foot into Ben's stomach as Ben writhed in pain on the floor. Ben reached for the Omnitrix to transform but stopped, the guy was right if he used the Omnitrix now everyone would think he was a vigilante then his situation would be even worse. "Of course it's not like it matters, I saw you apply to my work a while ago" Ben flinched as he could almost sense the words coming out of his mouth "And my boss told me a little secret about you Mr. Ballsy, you're quirkless" he said with a sadistic grin as he put the muzzle of his gun up against Ben's head "Which means you've got no way to fight back, and it also means you've got 10 seconds to tell me if you're a rich boy or- well... A dead one" this situation was bad for Ben, if it was one on one Ben could easily get up and disarm the man, but with the amount of people here he could get arrested for vigilantism, but if he did nothing he would get shot and either die or the Omnitrix would kick in and he would be arrested for using his 'quirk' illegally.

"What's it gonna be kid, it's not like it's a hard decision" he said as the employee was shoving money into a bag.

"What is with villains and the monologues" a female voice said from the entrance of the building in a bored tone, the villain turn to see who was talking but before he could he was hit the wall from a kick in his side. "You ok kid" the woman said looking down at Ben.

"Yeah I'm good" he said as he waited for the pain to die down. He looked up to see a dark skinned woman with rabbit ears standing in front of the villain.

"The only day I take off work and I just happen to run into a robbery, how lucky am I?" she said sarcastically as she knocked the villain out and walked over to the counter "Hi, I'll have the Bai Big Mac with a Sprite".

"W-w-w-would you like any sides with that" the cashier said nervously as they stared at the hero in front of them.

"Just a salad" the hero replied as she took a glance down at Ben "Are you still not up yet, move your ass kid" she said.

"Your t-total comes t-to ¥870" the employee said as Ben stood up and leaned against a wall, he wasn't really sure if he could handle an interview right now.

A little while later:

Ben left the restaurant as he saw police cars pass by, he walked down the street for a while before making it to a small floral shop where he was meant to have his interview, he walked through the door to the ring of a small bell "Excuse me, I'm here for a interview" he said to the woman at the counter.

"Oh you must be Mr. Tennyson, it's a pleasure to meet you my name is Amia Ashido" she said as she opened the door behind her "Please follow me and we'll start the interview".

"Ok Miss Ashido, thanks for having me" he said as he followed her into an office filled with plants.

"Right Ben, I've looked at your resume and you don't appear to have any past work or references but you do have a clean record so it's not terrible" the Amia said kind of disappointed.

"I did technically work as a delivery boy for a supermarket once if that helps" Ben said already expecting to be rejected.

"It doesn't but at least you're trying" she said with a sympathetic grin "It doesn't really matter since I don't have any other employees anyway".

"Wait, so I have the job?" Ben said confused.

"I guess, I just have to one question, the template you copied has a section for quirks yet you left it empty, why?" she asked.

"Oh right that, I'm uhhhh am a bit embarrassed by my quirk" Ben said remembering back to the moment in the McDonalds.

"Oh I see, I'm sorry for asking" she apologised "Well I'll see you on Monday, that seems like a good time to start your employment".

"Thank you Miss, I won't forget this" he said almost to tears with a smile on his face.

"Whatever you say, now go home, you look like you just got mugged" she said as she took him to the door.

"That was faster than expected" Ben said to himself as he walked down the street in a state of insomnia induced bliss 'Finally, I can actually make money now, nothing could ruin this moment' he thought as he turned the corner to see a man on fire fighting a guy who was shooting his fingers out like missiles.

"Seriously universe? all I want one good thing" Ben sighed as he ran into an alleyway and lifted the Omnitrix up to his chest "Ok Omnitrix just give me something that can end this fast I haven't slept properly in days so I rather not pass out in the street" Ben slammed his hand down on the Omnitrix without looking at.

Ben opened his eyes and lifted his arm to his face "Jetray? I haven't used him in a while, but I guess fast is fast" Ben flapped his wings and soared into the sky.

"Oi bub, you got a lotta nerve fightin' on my turf" he joked as he pretended to be a mobster, he shot a neuroblast towards the criminal "Now how about you give up or I'll be forced to get physically" he continued in his normal voice.

"Who the fuck are you, and what's with the stupid getup?" the criminal mocked as he dodged a blast of fire from the hero that was fighting him.

"I'm Jetray! And I'll have you know this 'getup' is my hero uniform" Ben said kind of offended that he didn't know his name (Even if it is over 100 years in the future). Ben swooped down and lifted the villain by his forearms so he couldn't fire his weird finger missiles at him, he then hit him against a building and flew down to the ground.

"Thanks." Ben heard from behind his, freaking him out. He turned around to see a man standing well above 6 feet tall right behind him "I couldn't of done that without you." he said in a stilled manner.

"N-no problem man, it's what I do... Oh my name's Jetray, not sure if you caught it" he nervously laughed as he awkwardly put out his hand to shake.

The man gripped Ben's hand tightly "I'm Endeavor... It's nice to meet you." he said glaring down at Ben, Ben tried to pull his hand out of Endeavor's grip but it was to tight for him to escape.

"Hey you wouldn't mind letting go would you? you're starting to hurt my hand" instead of letting go Endeavor instead tightened his grip around Ben's arm.

"That symbol on your chest it wouldn't happen to be to be that new vigilante group symbol, would it?" Endeavor said with a intense stare at Ben "I'll be taking you to the nearest police station for questioning." he finished as he began to pull Ben along with him.

"Ah, hey wait lets talk about this" Ben said trying to pull himself out of Endeavor's grip, he was struggling to escape when suddenly the Omnitrix started to beep "Oh come on, now of all time?" Ben wined as he slapped the Omnitrix causing a flash of green light. When the light faded a small yellow bug was standing in Jetray's place.

"What the?!" Endeavor said as he tried to grab onto the small creature but to no avail.

"Ballweevil AWAAAAAAAYY!" Ben screamed as he scurried into a sewer grate "Damn, that was close, I need to be more careful... Wait, how do I get out of here?" Ben asked himself as he looked around the dark sewer place.

Later:

Amia walked into her house exhausted "HEY DAIKI DO YOU MIND MAKING DINNER?!" she shouted at the top of her lungs "No prob!" she heard her husband say from the living room so she walked up stairs and started to run herself a bath. She walked into the living room and sat down on the couch next to Daiki "So how was your day honey" she asked him.

"Swamped, I still haven't been given access the city quirk records so I just have to check the police records over and over again in between patrols" her husband said almost passed out on the couch "What about the flower business, anything new in stock?".

"No, but I did hire some" she said with a smile "His name is Ben, he's an American with brown hair".

"Really? I should come down and meet him at some point" Daiki said as he stood up to make their dinner.

Hey it's me again, sorry if the chapter was a bit lacklustre I have had to write this in the middle of the night since most of my time during the day is full. I have been trying to make this as fast as possible at the same time but the story isn't full created yet so expect gaps in upload time. It was nice writing again though so I'll see you guys soon when I stop my constant streak of procrastination.
