"CHRISTOPHER" Buck yelled, trotting through the heavy waters. "CRISTOPHER" he yelled again before having yet another coughing fit. He was beginning to lose his voice from all the yelling, and his body was shaking from the cold water and being exhausted. He was starting to become aware of a strong headache and nausea, and his chest felt like it was being crushed making it harder to breathe. His eyes were beginning to shutter from the exhaustion and he fell down landing on all four in the water, shivering from hitting the cold water yet again. He got up, looked around, and was about to call out for Christopher once again when someone he hadn't noticed grabbed his shoulder with a firm hand
"Sir, are you hurt?" the beholder of the hand asked. Buck turned around to look at a strong build firefighter. Buck just looked at the man confused and unable to make up a sentence or even a single word, he just stood there staring. The firefighter reached up his other hand to lay it on Buck's other shoulder and kept a firm steadying grib before asking: "What's your name sir?". Again Buck just stood there staring confused at the guy. "Okay, why don't we get you somewhere dry and safe, then we can figure it out later he said and gestured for his partner who Buck just then noticed, this had Buck in a panic, he had to find
"CHRISTOPHER" Buck turned around and yelled and started to move forward again, but was stopped by the firm grip of now two firefighters. Buck started to struggle, falling down again and this time getting his head under the water, he started to panic more and wrestled the hands that was trying to help him, heaving in a big mouthful of water and starting to cough violently, dragging in more water in the process until he passed out and the firefighters were finally able to turn him around and lifting him up and getting him to the boat where they laid him down and started CPR since he was by that time not breathing. After two rounds of chest compressions and mouth to mouth Buck started breathing again of his own.
"Sergeant Grant?" the doctor asked coming over to Athena
"Yes, how is he?" Athena asked, having handed Christopher over just 30 minutes ago to a friendly looking lady who had taken him for a check-up. Christopher had clung to Athena, who had in return insisted on coming along for the check-up, but the nurse had told that they were gonna take x-rays for which Athena couldn't come along, but that she would have the doctor come talk to Athena afterwards and that once Christopher got sorted they could be together, Christopher had put a brave face on and let the nurse take him away. So now she was waiting for the doctor to tell how the little Superman was doing.
"He's a brave young man let me tell you that" the doctor smiled fondly and Athena just nodded her agreement, trying her best to stay collected. "He keeps asking for someone named Buck?" the doctor looked at her questioning
"Evan Buckley" Athena just said, starting to get emotional thinking of how she still didn't know the condition of her beloved son, because that was how she saw him, as her son. This time it was the doctor who just nodded, not asking any further questions
"Mr. Diaz is in overall good health, but we will have to keep him overnight for observation" the doctor explained
"But he'll be fine?" Athena asked, not wanting to get her hopes up
"He will. You can go see him now" the doctor smiled
"Oh thank heavens" Athena sighted
"Room 104" the doctor told her, and then he was on to the next
